  If your laptop is currently DDR2 Ram then you will not be able to install DDR3 because modules are physically different and not backward compatible.

  Pavilion dv7.  Windows Vista Home Edition

  The error message that desplays after the system recovery process, it is "Windows cannot verify the Publisher of this driver software".

  I tried clicking on the button 'Install anyway', at this point, more than 5 times.  The process does not move forward and I feel frustrated and turned off my computer.

  Thank you.  By showing the work you've done to a representative at the Geek Squad, I was able to buy and install a new hard drive for my laptop.

  I then used the recovery disks that were created shortly after that the laptop was purchased in 2009.  Windows Vista is now on my computer.

  I recommend updating the BIOS and the 1st audio driver and then give it a try to see if there is an improvement

  I changed the windows for a full installation of windows 10 pro due to the corruption of the window vista recovery disk. (lost the new build software pre installed). Before I had vista Home premium. Some of the original program software don't work with wins it 10 pro. I found a rear window and HP Media Media Center smart webcam. All others on HP Smart media are not working due to no driver or competable with 10 pro wins. Is there some alternate software with the same use? I know that hp will not update the software program at the present time, alternatives is a server of HP smart media, but I would like to have a similar cause of program I liked the program.

  Thanks for your solution. I've tried, but it does not work what so ever. I guess I better to forget and take my lost. Quite sad but its one of the things that fact you win and you lose a game. Some programs are perfect, but if the company of the pc or laptops drivers or updates on legacy systems we can not anything on this subject. Guess that's one of the problems with this new victory 10.

  You can post a screenshot of disk management? Will there be a partition between the end of the C: and the beginning of the unallocated space? If so, disk management is not powerful enough to do the job and you will have to use a tool to partition Linux gparted or Acronis, Commander of the Partition to move the intervener score as a result of the right, and then migrate C:

  I have this HP pavilion dv7 series (XE360EA #UUG) with the intel I5 and now is about 6 years old.

  If this is happened with windows 7 is installed at the time and I running windows 10 now.

  BUT now, I would like to install Ubuntu alongside windows 10...

  I have read and tried, but I don't have something UEFI will... And I need to enter this option to disable secure boot... I think I need to update the BIOS to a newer version, but when I want to do this and I check the HP site it only give me the windows operating system 7 (ms "forced me" set to level) to 10.

  Do you guys know a solution? because I had dll the UEFI HP BIOS - updated, but still can't seem to disable secure boot...

  I hope there is a solution because I would like to start using Ubuntu.

  recent versions of Ubuntu should install on a safe start System. But I think you have something else because I don't think that you have secure boot or you would see it in the BIOS.

  You can install Ubuntu using disk partitioning manaual... let alone Windows partitions and the 75 GB should be like 25 GB on a root partition "/", an Exchange that is equal to the amount of memory or less than 4 GB and a/home partition for the rest. Grub install automatically and give you the option to start Windows.
