Pavilion G6-2006tx: Damaged GPU?

Hey, I have a Pavilion G6-2006tx and have had problems with my gpu lately. I'm starting to suspect that my gpu is damaged.

First of all, I discovered that my hard drive has been damaged and gave different BSOD as IO errors. I managed to put the SWSetup folder that contains all the drivers. After Reinstalling windows on a new hard drive and install the drivers, everything has worked until one day the laptop screen went black and restarted. On reboot, it gave me this BSOD-
"Try to reset display driver and recover timeout failure.

The pointed "atikmpag.sys" minidump file that was card Radeon driver. I started in safe mode, uninstalled the adapter and the driver from the device manager then booted back up and uninstalled the AMD Catalyst Control Center. I have tried many drivers for the HD 7670 m, but each of them gave the same BSOD reboot or sometimes "SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION.

Warranty of my mobile is over and I'm stuck with windows in real glitchy and some programs that I most need such as Adobe Premiere, Photoshop, After Effects, FL Studio keep crashing or are very slow. Any suggestions on the issue? My GPU is really dead or y at - it a hope?
BTW, the laptop has switchable graphics using a Radeon HD 7670 m and Intel Graphics 3000. I also tried to install graphic drivers Intel 3000/4000 but I get this error from the installer, "this computer does not meet the minimum requirements.
And, if my GPU is really damaged, is there a way I can confirm me before taking it into service as the service center isn't nearby? Thanks in advance.

I'm afraid it might have. However, reading around the Internet, I learned that there could be 2 things. A damaged play gpu or one that has just been disconnected from the motherboard. So anyway is to know who? If I need a new motherboard or a reformat? Thanks for your fast reply though. ^.^

If you look on eBay there is a replacement card to match your or you can send it to someone for the reflow to fix. Otherwise, you can see if someone is selling a new Board of Directors without problem.

  • Pavilion elite m9255uk: damaged wiring antenna Office

Main problem is that the PC won't start, thinking that perhaps it would be mobo.  Yes I know it's old but it's my favorite. Thus, three questions

    1ST QUARTER

The PC Pavilion Elite has a built-in wireless antenna for the management of wireless LAN 802.11 b/g. I just ran my fingers on the thread that connects the card/adapter inside the 'roof' and the coating of the wire is cracked near the 'roof' of the pc.  He has obviously been pinched or rubs against something, could that have damaged the mobo if the stripped part had made contact with the case?  If this isn't the case, it would be prudent to cover the part damaged this wiring with insulation tape?

    Q2

Otherwise, could remove the card/adapter and wiring and do not use wireless, what would be the consequences of this?

    Q3

After that the cracked wire issue is sorted, I'll have to do some work of elimination on the problem of no initialization.  What are the sons of "skeleton" that should be left connected to the mobo to start upward? (please let me know if you want this bit of my questions posted elsewhere and I'll re)

With this damaged wiring, I doubt it will be problem except playing havoc with wireless reception.  Stick the broken insulation should be fine, as long as the wire is OK.

  • Pavilion p6 - 2307: upgraded GPU in Pavilion p6 - 2307a

Hi, I am interested in the upgrade of the NVIDIA GeForce 620 of GT, which comes with the Pavilion p6 - 2307. I have run Windows 64-bit 10. The specifications of my desktop (to support people no HP) can be found here:

    http://support.HP.com/us-en/document/c03604360

I would get an EVGA NVIDIA GTX 1060 / 3GB, however I heard that others were unable to update their graphics in the pavilions maps, because they "locked," such as HP will not allow you to change the graphics card by default. Is this true for my office? If so, would be fixed by getting a new motherboard?

Even if I can use this GPU, there is a very close capacitor of the PCI express x 16 slot, just above it, which I think could get in the way. Maybe I could use a PCI express x 16 extender, however I do not know how the GPU would be actually physically supported, so I don't think this is a long-term solution. If I replace my motherboard, I then need to reinstall Windows? And I have to buy a new copy? My existing copy of Windows or how some would be transferred to my new motherboard?

    Any help is appreciated.

    Thanks, Lachlan.

The BIOS of your desktop PC is not locked.

The EVGA graphics card is too large. It is 10.5 inches long and your motherboard is 9.6 "wide.  It is unlikely to hold in the case of the PC.

I use the g6-2006tx Notebook PC Pavilion. I had updated my OS to Windows 7 to 10 times back.

Due to some problems, I did a reset on Windows. The problem is that I lost a lot of pilots because of it. I have many recover by using Windows Update.

But I got no driver for Bluetooth. I looked in the official website of HP, but I am unable to find the driver for windows 10, but the only thing I found is to use windows update. I tried check the update, but it doesn't show me no more updates. I'm a little hesitant to use 3rd-party drivers.

Could someone please help me find driver bluetooth.

I am able to see Bluetooth devices in the Device Manager when I switch on the Bluetooth, but not under network adapters.

    Hi @PayalC,

    Welcome to the HP Forums!

I understand that you have lost the Bluetooth driver once the system has been improved for Windows 10. I want to help.

There are 2 things you can try, since there is no official release of the Bluetooth driver for windows 10 of your model.

First, run the wizard help HP

Second, you can click the action button on the top of the Device Manager window and select search for hardware changes to let windows find a Bluetooth driver for you.

Let me know if you can use the Bluetooth function after you've completed the steps above.

  • the HP Pavilion Desktop 500-329 GPU upgrade

Hello! I was wondering if it is possible to upgrade the GPU and the power supply of my

    HP Pavilion Desktop PC 500-329

The GPU is a GTX 960 and the PSU is a 500W EVGA power.

I read that I had to turn on legacy something with the computer with the f10 boot menu. I made this and just want to know if it's possible.

Yes, you can upgrade, simply follow the recommendations of the manufacturer of the graphics card on the connectors and the power of the power supply.

You have a PCI Express x 16 (Gen 3.0) card slot there will be plenty of choice for video cards.

  • Pavilion n201ax: upgrading the GPU, the CPU and the RAM of my laptop n201ax

Maybe it's a very long post, but please answer because I really need answers to each of these questions and I really want to upgrade my laptop to the best configuration, if I CAN.

Let me make this clear first.

    * In the next contained the words 'this portable' always refers to Hp Pavilion 15-n201ax *.
Good then everything first I read somewhere that the maximum Ram of this laptop can be expanded up to 16 GB, but i came up with this link here-

    http://h30434.www3.HP.com/T5/hardware-upgrades-replacements/I-would-like-to-upgrade-memory-of-my-lap...

And then I came to know that it can only be upgraded to 12 GB page chapter 1 Description this Guide - #2

    http://h10032.www1.HP.com/CTG/manual/c04438537.PDF

First of all I would like to ask, is that,

    1. can I buy a RAM of any brand but the same 1600 mhz clock speed ofc IE?, then can I go to the GSkill 1600 Mhz DDR3 4 GB of ram?

    2. the size matter for respective locations? or I can install the 8 GB and 4 GB of ram in any other slots?

So this was all about the RAM

But I need to know if I can change the discrete GPU and the APU of this laptop

3 and if yes - which are compatible mobile GPU that I can install by removing the previous one ie AMD 8600 M (for example graphics R9, R7 and R5 for laptop)

4 and who are the compatible APU I can install by removing the APU previous IE AMD APU A10 - 4655 M (for example the AMD FX APU for laptops)

    5. If I can upgrade the GPU and APU both please tell makes compatibility issues? as only a specific GPU can work with a specific APU IE as in this laptop AMD APU A10 - 4655M + AMD 8600 M GPU.

    Please help me, please.

    Thanks in advance.

    Pavilion 15-n201ax?

We may need to refer to the owner's manual here:

    Your repair manuals

Officially, it supports only 12 concerts. Your model has a single module of 8 GB if you have an open slot. Unofficially, users here can have reported that add another 8 GB for a total of 16 concerts will work fine. It's something you take the risk of making but it is not official.

The part numbers for the appropriate memory are listed on page 42. You must DDR3L-1600 SO-DIMM.

If you want to go formal, the 4 GB module is: 691740-001

    Is this on amazon.com:

    http://www.Amazon.com/HP-691740-001-1600MHz-PC3L-12800-memory/DP/B00CI08FX4/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&QID=1437948185&SR=8-1&keywords=691740-001

You just leave the concert 8 where it is and add the new memory into the open slot.

On your laptop model, the GPU/APU is soldered to the motherboard. In order to make any upgrade, you will need to buy a new motherboard. You have an idea together wrong GPU/APU can be removed and replaced and this is incorrect. The term APU refers to a processor that has integrated video, so the whole issue on the compatibility between the GPU and APU just missing the mark. On some systems, the GPU/APU is socketed and can be replaced which is used to replace/upgrade the processor and the video function but as stated above, on your this involves pulling and replacing the entire motherboard.

    There is available a little better/graphics processor using AMD A10 - 5745M 8670 M (2.9 GHz/2.1 GHz, 2 GB L2, 1333 MHz DDR3L Quad 25W) for use with Standard Windows. The part of the motherboard is 734824-501

HP does not store the Council, but I found this line:

    http://www.discounteddealz.com/product.asp?Itemid=327740&gclid=CO78y6rn-cYCFQmCaQodOP0GLQ

Never heard of this seller and can not be a guarantor, but the price is very reasonable for this Council. I was expecting to be a little more makes me wonder about this seller a little. I would advise to keep what you have. He is very strong for AMD and the upgrade to the Commission on the A10-5745 will result in only a very small increase in performance to a very high cost in money and efforts.

  • Pavilion Elite M9160F PSU & GPU Upgrade

First, I searched for hours for this information before deciding to post here...

I think that the power supply on my Pavilion Elite M9160F is bad. When the computer has been interrupted for some time (with no power connected), it takes a long time for him to return power on. Specifically, I mean that it does nothing - no green light, no beep nothing - for a minute. Then all of a sudden to get 'normally '. I've not had problems with it once running. Still I think to replace it... and I might as well hit the GPU Geforce 8600GT derisory.

I could not find detailed on the power supply specifications. I suppose that a standard ATX POWER supply will work, but I would like the conformation of someone who really knows.

As for the GPU, I thought that the upgrade only available (given the size of the case... the mini tour was a big mistake) was the Geforce 9500GT. However, on the Nvidia site it seems to be a more powerful card, the Geforce GT 220, with similar dimensions and the same connector PCI-E 2.0.

These components will work with a Pavilion Elite M9160F (the only changes to the original configuration are that I have 8 GB of RAM PC25300 and I installed Win 7 Pro 64)?  Here are the specific components that I am considering.

In addition, is 450 watts a big enough abut the original 350 watts? This computer has a small business and want enough power to run the GPU, but not so much that I regularly cause heat problems.

    EVGA nVidia GeForce GT 220

    Corsair CMPSU - 450VX 450 watts

Hello Hoopermazing, I checked the dimensions for this EVGA GT 220 graphics card which can be found here and the length of 7.5 inches.

Click on the link of the PDF standard to download for dimensions worksheet.

    EVGA GeForce GT 220 DDR3

  • Pavilion P6720TR: Installed new GPU does not work

I upgraded my old PC pre-built 2011 with Corsair VS 450 & Asus GTX 750 it. I installed my new GPU and everytime I turn on my desktop computer is blocked on startup of HP logo and it will emit several beeps. I think that HP motherboards are not compatible with the new GPU OR the HP bios are totally incompatible. There are HP experts who can help me with this problem?

The issue that you are facing, it's that the new video card requires a motherboard that has a UEFI BIOS.

Your card mother HP 2011 has a BIOS that is inherited and is not compatible with the newer video cards. Install a compatible with legacy BIOS video card and it will work in your HP PC.

Unfortunately, mixing the new and the old BIOS technology just doesn't work. It has nothing to do with the fact that it is HP. you would face the same situation with any motherboard 2011. These are the days of the legacy BIOS. 2012 and new PCs and laptops use UEFI BIOS.

    Hello!

According to HP Support Assistant, my flag (ab141na) is equipped with double GPUs. To be more precise, here is a screenshot of the wizard.

I have tried several games without a bit of luck. For example, Sherlock Holmes against Jack the Ripper gives me not more than 5-6 fps. Sherlock Holmes offences and sentences is even worse.  I used the amd system monitor and I realize after the release (csv) demand that the game still plays using the APU and not the GPU.

I don't know, this is the first time that I have a portable dual gpu and I don't know how to use it properly maybe.

  • Pavilion H8-1117cb: Compatible GPU for H8-1117cb Pavilion

I'm looking to replace (like update if possible) the video card in my HP Pavilion H8 1117cb

The ATI card failed and I removed the piece of plasitic blocking the VGA connector to use video for now.

I tried an Evga GTX 750 Ti SC from new egg and ended up having to return it. That's when I learned about the Legacy/UEFI bios differences. I then looked an OC of MSI N750 TI 2GD5 card since she was a switch built in. Someone in the field of the issue, said that he did not work with their H8 - 1117c.

Can someone please tell me which card will work with my system? Budget is $ 100 - $ 150, but I can't afford to buy and return a bunch of cards.

Also, I would be a card that works with the original 300W PSU.

    Thank you!

    StreetG6, welcome to the forum.

I tell you as I tell everyone, trying to find a video card most recent for an old computer, contact Technical Support from the manufacturer for help.  They will be able to tell you which of their cards will work.  If you did not contact EVGA Tech Support (1-888-881-3842), I suggest that you do.  It will be difficult to find a card that will work with your existing power supply.  I understand not wanting to pay to return more cards.

  • HP Pavilion HPE h8-1214: GPU EVGA GTX 750TI will work with my HPE h8-1214

Hello. I plan to update my graphics card soon. Accoring to this, I have a card Mother Angelica. I read another post here of a user having a h8-1230 with a card Mother Angelica Revision2 , who said the EVGA GTX 750TI was inconsistent with this Council, and that he should look for a version of the 750TI MSI instead.

I was wondering if the same applies to my PC because my model is older that the other user has been. I prefer to use the EVGA GPU version, as it is cheaper than the MSI one, but I need to know if it will work with my computer. If not, will the labour card ASUS model, or should it be MSI? The map I intend to buy is present (EVGA) or this (ASUS).

In addition to this, does anyone know if the stock fans and 300W power supply provided with this computer would be appropriate for the new card, or not? I'm looking forward already pass the power supply, but I don't know for the fans. If I were to upgrade the PSU, 430W would be enough, or should I go with 500W? Thank you.

If anyone in the future who might wonder, I had this GPU works on my computer, but I had to buy a specific version of the map and the way I got it to work was pretty weird.

You need to buy this version MSI of the card, because the card itself has a switch on to change the UEFI to Jack supported BIOS Legacy. As far as I know, other versions of this card are UEFI only, and this computer does not support UEFI, so he needs a card that can run in the traditional way. It may look like a fit snug in the case, but it does not seem to cause problems and it cools very well with fans.

I also changed to a block of power SUPPLY Corsair 430W, which seems more than enough for the system, even with the card to load max. You could go to a higher power, if you consider the upgrade of several pieces, or reuse the power supply in a more powerful system later. I have not upgraded fans in the computer and do not seem to have cooling problems.

    Now to make it work...

    I had some questions:

When I first turned on the computer, it froze on the screen of the POST (the first screen with the HP logo). It would allow me to get into the BIOS, and it would beep 4 times (with long breaks between the two), before finally to a black screen with a cursor blinking and just stay there.

What finally got it to work:

I disconnected all the instructors of the map (cables VGA, DVI or HDMI), and then I turned on the computer. Without any monitor plugged, the computer should beep 6 times (the power button LED flashing with it), then the power led turns off. The LED went off as soon as I plugged my monitor into the computer (in my case, I used a VGA cord).

For the first few seconds, the screen remained blank and does not save a connection. The computer is beeping intermittently for a while, then after about a minute my detected monitor suddenly a signal, and the screen displays the Windows splash screen. I was able to boot into Windows, all right, even if the resolution of the screen will be a little goofy, until you install the drivers.

I jumped in the driver installation CD, and once it finished installing, I restarted the computer. Now, when it restarted, I had to do the same procedure I mentioned above so that he could start again. Now that the drivers are installed, I don't know if I'll have to do this procedure everytime I restart the computer (don't have not shut down since then), but since I rarely shut down my computer, it's worth it to me.

Hope this helps someone else, because I know that I spent 10 hours searching for ideas before discovering this solution myself.

Now that it is running, I have problems and I have run several graphics intensive games on it without any problem with cooling or power draw. It is very quiet, too. Even with a game running on high quality graphics, I can barely hear the fans when there is no other sound in the room.
