Pavilion g6: BSOD BUGCODE_USB_DRIVER error

I have a HP Pavilion g6-1b60us running Windows 7.  Recently, I've been doing the BSOD with error code BUGCODE_USB_DRIVER at least once a day, sometimes several times a day. I tried updating the drivers, but am still affected by the same problem. Your help would be greatly appreciated!

Hi there @reCATcha1

Welcome to the Forums of HP Support! It's a good place to find the help you need, so many other users, the HP experts and other members of the support staff.

I understand that you have found an error on blue screen BUGCODE_USB_DRIVER. I'm happy to help you.

Have you tried to scan your system for what as malware, viruses etc?  If you do not I would recommend doing this first and as a result, clean your system.

If you know approximately when the problem started, you can try to do a system restore to a point before it all started.

Using Microsoft System Restore (Windows 7)

Otherwise, I recommend you back up the contents of your hard drive and then look at the system recovery, I would start with just the drivers, and if it does not help, then a factory restore.

  • Windows Vista SP2, random BSOD with error checking code 0 x 19

    Hi all

I have seemingly random crashes on my old laptop 3 years recently - BSOD with error checking code 0 x 0000019 (0x00000020, 0xe92f4780, 0xe92f48d0, 0x0a2a0440), and BlueScreenView says that accidents are caused by ntkrnlpa.exe and Ntfs.sys. I have absolutely no idea why it happened--unusual does update, none of the material changes & software installations. The system hangs especially after maybe one or two days after starting with some sleep & wake ups inbetween and the only accidents while there are prominent running shows - namely, all the accidents that happened while I was running Firefox. Seconds before the BSoD (shell & all) system simply freezes and does not respond to ctrl + alt + delete, but is still running (as indicated by the fact that once, I forced a power off and after that restart the event log indicates the previous stop at was not planned), then watch the usual BSoD screen.

After doing some googling, I began to suspect that this should be a memory or a hard drive problem, or maybe an overheating causing the two since he not there no significant change of software on my computer recently again issues just appeared without reason. So I cleaned my laptop fan and the heatsink and ensured that the hot air can leave the chassis without being blocked, did some checking of memory with memory auditing Windows - no problems in 5 innings and ran chkdsk on my system partition with all available options - perfectly normal, but the chkdsk has acted quite strangely that check all took about 30 seconds and no normal as the ID information of partition, size etc. that should be there never appeared; is this a normal behavior? or something is wrong with my chkdsk?

I'm still (lol) impatiently waiting for the next crash, not sure whether the problem is still there or not. Meanwhile could you please help me understand what is the problem with my system?

It seems that the disc is the most likely cause. If it is intermittent, it may be difficult to diagnose.

The manufacturer of the laptop provides any diagnosis?  Several manufacturers have a key at startup to access the diagnostics.

CHKDSK should last several minutes. There is information about the different ways to run chkdsk here:

You can try this disc test program:

    any ideas? Thank you

    Hello

Start Device Manager Not found boot device 3F0 This indicates a potential problem with the hard drive. Run the hard drive test.

For more information, see test of a hard disk by using the Built in Self Test .

New laptop should not have this kind of problem. I recommend to replace it for others (even the same model) to the place where you bought it.

  • After uninstalling and reinstalling 42.0 FF, I get BSOD 0x000000F4 error

FF has been excruciatingly slow and constantly crashed. I tried to reset, but does not solve the problem, so I did a uninstall and reinstall. Now, I get the BSOD every day, stating that "a process or thread crucial to system operation has unexpectedly released or terminated" and noting that the problem is often caused by the problem with newly installed hardware or software. FF is the only new software that I installed it. I have not installed new hardware. The stop error is always the same: 0x000000F4. Thanks for your suggestions you may have.

Thanks for the suggestion, Kyle. I uninstalled and reinstalled FireFox and did not get a BSOD. It only 24 hours since I've done this, but so far, everything is fine. Thanks again!

  • HP Pavilion g6-1232sl Notebook: error with Win7 and AMD Radeon HD 43 7400

    Hello

After you have reinstalled Win7 64 on my HP Pavilion laptop 1232sl g6, I get error 43 with the AMD Radeeon HD 7400 Appliance.

I have download and installed an update of the driver from the site of AMD, but this does not resolve the issue.

    Any suggestions?

BTW, the reinstallation of Win7 the 'sleep' feature is no longer available (it is gray). Can it be related to error 43?

    Thank you

    Giovanni

    Hi@inascargio,

Thank you for your response.  Yes, it is important to remove the existing drivers first and then restart the computer to make it work. Please try again and proceed exactly as I have laid out for you. As you already have the driver downloaded, you can omit the first step.

  • HP-Pavilion Desktop PC recovery error MediaCentre

Hello, my friend tried to install windows 7 Home premium on his PC, and now I'm trying to get the PC back to factory setting.

I have the following desktop PC

    HP-Pavilion Desktop PC MediaCentre

    M8095a RZ557AA-ABG

    AUD716065V

    Windows Vista SP1 x 86

The recovery partition is available and I am able to get into recovery mode, only problem after hp recovers then windows restarts and is supposed to desktop installation, I get an error

The system registry contains invalid paths, the Installation cannot continue. This system image was applied without gauranteeing that correspond to computers drive letter assignments.

is there a way to solve this problem and recover back to factory settings.

    CAN SOMEONE PLEASE?

    Thank you

I solved the problem, if someone has this problem all you have to do is the following.

I used a live Linux OS and booted the PC,

I then chose live OS and started the OS

I then opened the partition manager and deleted the partition of 100 MB Windows 7 creates

Then, I deleted the partition to the OS and created a new partition NTFS

so now the partition table looked exactly as it did with the original Vista operating system

Then I restarted my PC and went into recovery and restore the PC back to factory default mode.

the pc is now as it was, and I have to remove some unwanted junk hp and upgrade program to windows 7

the last time I tried to create the recovery disk that the PC would not recognize one of my DVDs, I hope that I don't have the same problem this time.

I have a Pavilion M6 1066EZ. The question is sometimes, it freezes or gives BSOD.

I cleaned the fan and replaced the thermal paste with Gelīc GC Extreme 2.

GPU temp on 7520G is 90 degrees Celsius idle

GPU temp on 7670M does not at all.

How is it possible for the GPU to APU having 90 degrees when the CPU itself has 40?

I also checked the cooling system: all screws are well tightened correctly.

I tried the activation and the deactivation of Crossfire and even set a profile to 'Maximize the battery life' but it doesn't seem to work.

    @UzY3L,

Hello and thanks for posting back.  The reason why there can be a difference so close together is due to use of the tension.  The amount of doors and so forth that are operating on the chip.  Should be a detailed instruction in electronic engineering to break the functioning of each part and how it uses power.

Graphics cards for most of them, according to what is happening on the screen can run several times harder than the cpu.

I hope this helps.  If this isn't the case, you will need to search on the net about how gpu and cpu use power under different operations.  It will depend on the type of cpu and gpu.  As well as what is currently running on the system as well.

    I hope this helps.

Thanks again and have a great day.

  • Pavilion 6154ea: Radeon display error - display driver stopped responding and has recovered

Received a UN expected error in the web search, actully screen off for a few seconds before receiving an error on the display driver stopped responding and recovery.

Took a glance in the peripheral section where the 2nd adapter displays without any sign of error.

After recently installing a new SDS moving from the HARD drive, reinstall windows 7 etc via the updates and the order to make recovery disc the laptop because I used receive a blue screen error frequently, so that the display driver does not not error occasionally when using the design programs.  Therefore assumed, needed a new HDD/SSD and factory restore.

-Laptop computer has been cleaned withdrawal because keyboard, frame etc. with solvents as a cleaner. Therefore cannot be over heating the fan works hard to due and SSD.

-Power supply has been connected to the time

N ' was not overclocked as it is when using disk HARD aswell

It wasn't until today where it happened again, without the blue screen though. So decided I would look at him and realized it is a common problem with the ATI drivers, when I assumed it was a HARD drive failure all along.

This time the screen turned off for a few seconds, more then previously which is a little disturbing. Was only using a search engine with no program in the background. Infact havn't got round to reinstall files and software so the laptop is very clean and basic and works so don't know why I feel this fast.

Need to know your opinion on this please, may not know... (Radeon HD 6490M)

Thank you for visiting the HP Forums! A place where you can find solutions for your problems with the help of the community!

I stumbled upon your post on the laptop and wanted to help you! I looked in your question in the subject of your HP Pavilion dv7-6154ea Entertainment Notebook and problems with the display driver stopped responding. I recommend to restore the default BIOS settings. You could restore the BIOS with this document by selecting the reload the default BIOS settings. This resets the hardware parameters and contributed to others.

  • Pavilion dv6 3015sa: incomplete error on restore in recovery through recovery discs

    Hello

I have a pavilion dv6 3015sa and since I bought it, I have the recovery disks. now I want to recover my original win 7 and its drivers with his records, (I have no installed win now) I go through its process and I put all 5 lights up disk in the drive and the recovery process. When it is finished with discs, asks me to remove last disk and click on continue (and I do)

After this system charges with no disc in the drive, but after a few seconds it stops with this error: "Restoration incomplete" and it has 3 options which nobody works. but when I press RETRY its tells me insert recovery media and I insert it, it restarts, but comes back with the same error this time when I click on start AGAIN, he said "a file without a name is not found" no matter what disk I insert. I tried so many ways, but nobody is working, I did these things:

1 wipe the entire disk with Paragon (and I formatted the disc after that) (shoudn't I format the drive after?)

    2. turn the defult Bios (my version of the bios is F.27)

    3. remove the disc quickly before restarting

Please help me, what should I do?

    This question seems unsolvable!

Thank you since it is a very strange problem, nobody answered me, I fixed it by the following process:
    1. I rewiped the entire disc and formatted, it
    2. I changed the date of the bios in 2012 and he's fine now I'm back to the original win 7, the performance of my pc now are really good and does not to overheat again and I rarely hear fan noise!

  • BSOD no error checking for does not aspire VN7 - 792G

    Hello world

I got my aspire VN7 - 792G (v17 nitro Black edition) since November 2015 and since last week, I was doing some odd BSOD bugcheck (0x000001d3) without errors. Using BlueScreenView I noticed that the error came from QCAMainx64.

This happened last week and so I did a system restore and then updated my drivers wireless at 11.0.0.471. I've also updated my Nvidia drivers to the latest version in the case who had problems.

I did a sfc scannow which gave rise to no error, I did a check of windows memory which gave rise to no problem and a disk check which resulted without any problem.

The strangest thing was that the BSOD is produced especially when my laptop was being called in the upper left corner. But after a week of no BSOD they now returned at random moments.

The first BSOD happened on cdrom.sys and netio.sys (also 0x000001d3) and then 2 other BSOD's happened (one while doing a system restore point) and the other so I just browsing youtube, which happened on the QCAMainx64 again.

I left the Netherlands in Dubai and I left my receipt to the Netherlands, so I only have a scan of my warranty paper and ordering the product emails to prove that the laptop is mine. I was not able to repair yet because I need my laptop for work as well.

I'll add my minidump files to this post. If anyone knows anything I might have missed or which is better I can do to avoid BSOD.

I am running Windows 8.1. It seems that, on the acer site, that I can not download more updates to driver for windows 8.1 because they offer only win 10. And I'd rather not updated for windows 10 in all.

    Thank you for your time.

Try to update the driver with this version:

First time this has happened only a few days ago. I had Windows XP Edition SP3 family.

I could not understand the problem and eventually reformat my C: drive and everything seemed fine. Then suddenly alluva the error again.

It begins one minute after I connect to my office, then after that I have to the windows startup screen and he mistakes for the BSOD.

Each time, it's the exact same error, so I don't know it's coming from the same source. And I don't know how it would be a virus that I have a virus scanner. All I hope is that this is something I can fix it for a few months without constantly reformatting or wipe my D: drive as there are things there I need and don't want to spend a whole day backup stuff.

An overview of this problem would be appreciated. And I can't log in to get a minidump. The stop error is all what I have.

I checked the PCI (my gfx and 2 wireless cards) cards by taking out them and the problem persists. I also checked the RAM sticks last time it happened by removing one and try. the problem persisted. I think it may be the motherboard or hard drive related... which I am dreading.

Heck. It's so much more enjoyable when things are easy. ;-) Well, since you have reinstalled Windows make sure you have installed the updated for all your hardware drivers. You won't get the since the Dell for your Dell Dimension 3000 website. The best way to do is to enter your Service tag in the Dell support page.

Once you have installed the updated drivers (and don't forget Desktop Software from Dell if this model has), if the problem recurs, then you for lack of material. Just get out the bits and putting them again - then it won't do not a complete waste of time. You need solve the material problems systematically. Dell has diagnostics which reach you by pressing F12 when the computer starts. You will see the start of the diagnostic utility option. Run full diagnostics on everything. It takes some time. If all goes, I would always test the RAM with Memtest86 +. We have seen many machines that passed the Dell diagnostics, but which had hardware problems. However, if the diagnostics show failures don't bother. Replace defective components.

On tests of hardware failures often alleged swapping parts by parts checked. If you can not do the test yourself and/or are uncomfortable opening your computer, take the machine to a professional computer repair shop (not your local equivalent of BigComputerStore/GeekSquad). If possible, have all your data backed up before taking the machine into a shop.

One thing to note - it is an old machine. If the motherboard is the bad part, it's time to just buy a new computer. It will be uneconomic to put hundreds of dollars into this old machine. Wait next week and buy a new Dell running Windows 7. MS - MVP - Elephant Boy computers - don't panic!

The attached kernel dump file is IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL (a) bug check.

This indicates that Microsoft Windows or a driver in mode accessed kernel memory paged at DISPATCH_LEVEL level or above.

This bug check is issued if the memory paged (or invalid) is accessible when the IRQL is too high. The error that usually generates this bug check occurs after the installation of the faulty device driver or service system, BIOS.
