Pavilion HP G6 1b50us: updated HP Pavilion G6 1b50us motherboard

Hello

I have a laptop hp pavilion 1b50us g6 and the CPU is missing

Here are the specs.

CPU AMD Phenom II P650 Dual Core 2.6 GHz

Card mother AMD UMA graphics card

(ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4200 Series)

I'm looking in the upgrade of the motherboard, processor and graphics card.

I prefer to stay with AMD, (I use the laptop for rendering) However, to get the graph I can make the switch to intel if there is no other way.  Also, I have no preference for the processor. I hope that at least with 2.6 GHz

If anyone can help find me the motherboard just for my upgrade would be great!

The thing is that the motherboard is designed to adapt to the laptop for the motherboard cannot be separate or distinguish your laptop or maybe a series of models model. It's not like an office where motherboards are a standard form and configuration and can be easily set to current hardware or even years later. Nothing like that is possible with a laptop.

Here is the Service Manual:

Manual

Any motherboard that is mentioned in this manual may be installed on your laptop and designed to work with the right processor and the heat sink. You can swap memory and wireless card, etc.

So you can migrate from AMD to Intel, even theoretically. The upper part of the mark would be a processor i7 - 2620M to 2.7 ghz, then a very discreet motherboard with video 6470 M AMD. There are also some motherboards using first generation Intel Core with a slightly better video. There are also boards of AMD with separate video which can take a Quad Core or until a 3 ghz processor. Your Board of Directors may accept a Phenom II N660 to 3 GHz. Who would not alter your video chip, however.

Then we go into the cost of all this. After the back if you want to get down in the weeds on the details.

    Hi pg57,.

Here are Service and Maintenance Guide for your model and the 69 page you will find the steps on how to replace the card mother or mother board. Since you have a processor AMD the desired part number is 640893-001. You can order from HP PartSurfer and you will need your product for that number.

  • Pavilion 500-164: motherboard replacement raises Questions

Thanks, Malygris1, for your very comprehensive answer.  Unfortunately, I'm looking forward and installed the new Board of Directors.  For those faced with replacing a motherboard HP, I will elaborate on my trip.  The most important step was in buying for the motherboard.  I have no HP, but from a dealer on Ebay.  I DID, however, carefully note the model of the motherboard AND the designated HP part number of alternatives on a small paper on the motherboard label.  The same motherboard model is used in several models of HP Office; but, if the number of HP spare parts is matched, the info on the model should be on the motherboard.

My original problems were solved with the installation of the new Council.  After a router struck by lightning, the ethernet port had stopped working, and when told to stop, or in standby mode, the machine would invariably restart.  The new motherboard solved both problems, which seem to be related to the power surge.

I installed the new Board of Directors of the Windows 10 updated 500-164 and held my breath I have it powered for the first time.  I was pleasantly surprised to see that everything looked the same as when I left it.  Recognized support assistant the new Board of Directors as part of a desktop computer 500-164.  I have not tried; but I hope that the recovery media will work, if necessary.  Malygris1, do you think that if Support Assistant recognizes the info on the model, the recovery disks will work?  I'm curious to know how it works, but, if not, no big deal, as I now have a new image Acronis 10 Windows installation, which works perfectly on the 500-164 Pavilion (without "Pitfalls", as some have reported with audio, etc. of the wireless card.).

My second concern was whether or not Windows is always activated with the installation of the new Council.  He said that he "Windows is not activated.  ... Rats and other profanity.  I know it can take time to be put in correspondence with the info from Microsoft, so I updated the bios and checked the rest of the ports for the features of the machine.  I returned in configuration/system Panel and he told me that the activation information were "unavailable" - different from the message 'not active' sooner.  I've been waiting on this screen for a few minutes and the message changed to "Windows is activated"!  I was ready to make Microsoft telephone activation and I had run a keyfinder to get the original MS product key for Windows 8 from the hard drive, but I didn't have to use both methods.

So, in summary, if you want a card mother 'replacement', shop for the exact number of spare parts HP; not only the MFG part number.  It will save you a lot of grief.  Obviously, if you want to 'upgrade' from your motherboard, all bets are off, because it's a totally different scenario with different issues to deal with.  My project was a complete success at a cost of $103 for the new motherboard and several hours of my time.

  • The HP Pavilion dv6-6154sf motherboard

    Hello

I own a HP Pavilion dv6-6154sf. Native HD, a Toshiba MK1059gsm, out of retirement in the first two weeks of use, and I have no warranty on it because it was an exposure model...

It also appears that recovery discs are no longer available for this laptop (I wouldn't mind being wrong, however). I currently have another HD that came with my previous laptop inside, but I'm afraid it may fail soon also. So I have a few questions before I start spending:

    • is the motherboard (Hewlett-Packard 3590 33.18, according to belarc advisor) supports the 7200 RPM drives?
    • I understand it would be equal to 1) provide no support for SATA 2 or 3; (2) support SATA 2 or 3, but with the speed of the SATA 1; (3) support SATA 1, 2 and 3; so which of these possibilities is it?
    • I might as well ask, always; is there really no way more (even from other sources) for me to get a recovery disk now that best2serve it lists as is no longer available?

    Best regards

  • Problems as well HP Pavilion G6 1331sa motherboard

Hi there I was wondering if someone can help me and I hope that everyone is well.

    I have HP Pavilion:

    Product name g6-1331sa product number A8M93EA microprocessor 1.6 GHZ AMD Quad - Core A8 - 3520 M APU with Radeon 6620 + 7450 M Dual Graphics microprocessor Cache 4 MB L2 cache 6 GB DDR3 Memory Max memory supports up to 6 GB memory DDR3 Graphics Video AMD Radeon HD 6620 G + 7450 M bi - GPU (1 GB DDR3 dedicated) screen 39.6 cm (15.6 ") HD LED BrightView (1366 x 768) hard drive

    750 GB SATA (5400 RPM)

The unit has suffered liquid damage recently and I got a diagnosis that the motherboard needs to be replaced, something to do with the graphics card or along these lines.

Replacement seems simple enough, or so I thought.

I took S/N that is in the memory slot: 649950-001 and looked to find the correct replacement motherboard. I found a couple of advertising the same part number, but they are for HP Pavilion G4 and G7 only and I have been informed by the suppliers that they would not enter my G6.

Now I am at a loss because I don't know what is the correct part number and it's a mistake at HP.

My laptop was in repairs recently with PC World, which I talked about the motherboard, but they insisted, they changed only a fan.

Can someone explain what could happen and the same part number 649950-001 can adapt to my machine...?

Any help would be appreciated or point in the right direction.

    Thanks in advance...

I didn't know you had your own drives win 7. that will be fine. What is the LCD. It's a little more difficult. few things to check. Windows has the internal LCD turned off? What a turn on/off screen, it's usually a FN and one of the function keys on the top row. On my dv9000, it can have ether of the LCD or external, not both.

  • Pavilion dv6 1110ax motherboard replacement

    Hello

Recently my 1110ax BIOS corrupted and m unable to get by any way mrntioned on the forums.

Key combinations don't work not and this USB STICK.

Now the service center guys say that the motherboard has problem and must be replaced. which I doubt completely.

Is that what someone can say if I can keeping my existing AMD turion processor & card graphics ATI radeon 1 GB to save cost.

And is it possible to upgrade the processor and graphics card.

I had been using this laptop for 5 years now and really don't want to give up on this...

    Receive no response.

You can save the processor and the memory and the hard drive, but the video is part of the motherboard. The processor you have is:

AMD Turion RM-74 2.2 GHz with 2 MB of L2 cache

It's the fastest that can be installed:

    AMD Turion™ ZM-87, 2.4 GHz with 2 MB of L2 cache

A ZM-87 is about $40 on eBay and I'll tell you that it is not worth it for a ghz upgrade.2.

Radeon 1 GB video is upscale for the dv6-1000 series, so there is no better mother/video card.

    It's the motherboard:

    509450 001

It is a good deal at $78 for the Board of Directors:

  • Pavilion A305W-b motherboard

I have a Pavilion A305w-b with Vista, it seems that my motherboard is bad, I ran the normal test to determine if it is bad, the green light blinks when I plug the power supply to the card.  I need to try to find where I can find the model of cards or number.  I can't figure out which is the right number.  Any help would be appreciated.  I went to HP to seek counseling, but no luck, I went to Tigerdirect and the same thing.

  • HP Pavilion dv6636nr - replacement motherboard

OK, so I'm trying to repair this laptop.  More than 2 years old, 1 year warranty has expired.

I think the motherboard is out.   I need to find the mother card to replace it with exact and how to order.

    HP Pavilion dv6636nr.

Care can be found here: http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c01163897

On a side note, I believe that it is the motherboard.  The laptop does not start everything simply.

I first tried a soft reboot.  I took the battery and the cable unplugged from the wall and left for an hour.  After that replacement still does not work.  When the cable is connected the led on the side of the laptop because of the power, but nothing happens when you press the power button.  Tells me he is on, but isn't just the start.  I have another version of this laptop I'm testing these parts.  The battery works, power cable works, both ram sticks (2 GB each) work, the inverter Board, hard drive, all work.

I am sure that there is nothing to test, and I just need to replace the motherboard.  Yet once, when you try to start, the hard drive is not even tried to turn, fans turn at all, no. led to appear (except one on the port where the power cable is plugged in, which is NOT let go).  BIOS / POST screen does not appear.  Absolutely nothing happens when you press the power button / stop (Yes, I checked the connection.  Seems very solid).

I just replaced one myself. You should be able to find one on ebay. I wouldn't pay HP inflated the price of one.

My laptop computer to the original windows 8, then I updated to 8.1...

    Thanks please help me...

HP will be paid out-of-warranty service, but it is very expensive. Your best bet is to get the motherboard and do it yourself, I understand most people don't want to do or take to a local independent department store. Expect all this might cost 200 $et $300. HP would be deducted at the top end so who will or perhaps a little more. I don't speak for them, but I recommend that you call. They will quote you a price for the replacement of the motherboard.

I also tried looking for a bios update, but I couldn't find one that was on the hp Web site.

Please help I don't want to buy a new motherboard and cpu.

    Hello

Most graphics cards require BIOS version 8 HP.  BIOS version 8 is listed under Windows 8 for your particular model PC.  While the BIOS version 8 will probably support your new graphics card, you might find yourself stuck that Windows 7 will not work using the UEFI. You can install BIOS and then turn on legacy mode and see if the card works. However, if the card is a single card UEFI well then you are in a situation of 'catch' 22 In this case, you would have the BIOS later and W7 should always work in legacy mode.  Even with this BIOS update running in mode inherited that there could be some risk that W7 will not work.  Once you update the BIOS there is no coming back.

    Another thought.

There are no Windows Ultimate 10 version if upgrading to W10 (free upgrade) would you put on the professional version W10. I do not know if that would suit your needs. However, if you have a place in the upgrade by using the W10 iso DVD or flash drive then you could extract the W10 license key so that your could do a clean install with legacy mode turned off in the BIOS that puts your PC into UEFI mode.

You have a few risks to consider.  In addition, HP has not posted the W10 for your PC drivers.

What would I do?  I'd go for it, but then my wallet could be deeper than yours.
