I have 3 PCI slots on my MB, with one holding a sound card, a clogged by the video card fan shroud and one who holds a small card that I have no idea what its purpose. There are 3 black wires and a blue wire coming out, somewhere up towards the top of the front of the case. Nothing branch anywhere where I can see. Just had this thing in August and really not a not probe the guts too - worked fine right out of the box. Except now, I need to install an IEEE 1394 card for audio application. Does anyone have an idea what is this little extra card? Insofar as I can find no record of HP.

It's him! will tear this sucka outta there and stick to an IEEE 1394 card - integrated firewire chipset is not like me. Thank you, guys.

What's weird, is that I shot to the top of the page even Mumbodog gave out in a hyperlink. It is not the same layout and doesn't mention the network card. But it's the HP product support page, and the model number is the same. Strange.

  • Pavilion Elite HPE (HPE-210y): Travel in RAID 0

    Hi all.

Recently, I upgraded my hard drive of 1 TB to 2 TB. I bought two hard drives of 2 TB because I planned to run RAID 1, but after that I cloned one of the 2 TB drives and removed the old 1 TB, I decided to save in a different way.   I have most of the things I wanted to back upward again on the old hard drive and another method seemed to be a better route. My uses of son for a little game and RAID 1 seemed to be struggling against productive and not as safe.

So, I'll be able to move my new drive 2 TB in RAID 0 with my other new 2 TB drive even if I use one right now?

    Hello

HP's instructions for configuring RAID using the AMD RAIDXpert. Read at least twice.

Check your BIOS settings and make sure that the SATA is set to RAID.

I suggest you connect hard drives to ports SATA 1 and 2 (blue and white). Among the old HP AMD motherboards we're picky about which ports SATA would be supported RAID.

BTW - RAID 1 is much more secure that it will provide redundancy in the event of a hard drive failure and RAID 0 won't.

Yes, the power is 300 watts. Minimum 400 watts are for full power to retail graphics cards. The map provided by HP was custom designed to meet the requirements of power weaker and is is not the same as a retail card. HP has traditionally used Bestec and Lite-on original UPE.

To install a gaming grade graphics card, you will need to replace your power supply. The Corsair CX500 and CX600 are highly recommend and forum favorite. Further, these power supplies are only slightly larger than a block of power SUPPLY HP stock and are known to adapt. Power supply Idleness will put you back on the $50 - $75. Announcing this computer from July 2012 and not even a hiccup.  4 days, the computer suddenly began turn power off. It doesn't stop, it turns off, the plug was pulled. When I reboot I get the message of abnormal termination of Windows.   There is no warning at all.  No message as the computer is overheating.  He comes to occur when the computer is idle without programs will open.

When it stops, the power supply unit light goes out for a minute then comes back on the 'green' and the computer can be restarted.

I unplugged the power cord and relugged and it seems fine.

The computer is aware of the updates of Windows and can be stopped normally.

I removed the cover and clean the dust and confirmed all fans are running properly.  I left the lid off the coast, and the computer stops again.

I must add that when the computer is started 'cold' it runs about 15 minutes.  If you restart after it just closed, you have maybe 3-5 minutes of use.

Why did you think it was overheating.

    Any ideas?  Thank you.

  • Desktop HPE-210y noisy CPU fan

I bought my house in 2009.  In recent months, there was a buzz in the chassis.  I thought it was a hard drive failed, so I replaced it, but the noise continued.  In fact, it's the CPU fan.  I cleaned the dust off everything inside, including under the fan heatsink.  The noise continues.  Should I replace it?  It seems to be fixed on the heat underneath sink.  If I do not need to replace it, how to find the right part? When I enter my serial number in the search of part of HP, it lists 30 components. It is said the cooling fan system is 5188-3722 and says that it can be ordered from HP.  It also lists the "heatsink for AMD", 575691-001. It then lists on the fan itself, the STROKE part number.  In another search using a BOM component, I see "Cooler STROKE AMD 125W PCB AVCFAN", Assembly p/n 466715-001.  What exactly should I order? Once I find, I can replace it myself or I have to find someone to do it?  (I replaced the memory and hard drives). Thank you.

    Hello @kjd_1,

Welcome to the HP Forums, I hope you enjoy your experience! To help you get the most out of the Forums of HP, I would like to draw your attention to the Guide of the Forums HP first time here? Learn how to publish and more.

I understand that you are looking to replace your radiator and fan system on your desktop HP Pavilion Elite HPE-210y PC. The heat sink is the heatsink and fan assembled between them then (5188-3722) system fan is the fan on the rear part of the housing. According to the noise is coming from will depend on who you are replacing. The system fan is NOT the fan on the heatsink.

I do not think that you should really have a problem replacing the heat sink, just make sure you clean and replace the thermal grease while you're there.

I hope that I have answered your question to your satisfaction. Thanks for posting on the HP Forums. Have a great day!

  • How to move or rename the music folder?

I have a 50,000 ranked songs and thousands of podcasts, mixes, music videos or applications.

I understand that the so-called gel and iTunes questions all trolling are down to a large enough or maybe completely stupid thing that is the 'keep the organized library option '. That doesn't make a sense, is impossible to run (it would take days, and of course, it freezes the whole computer), put the files where you didn't ask whether they are and then don't know how to recover.

Because I am enjoying a summer break, I clean my readers and so I decided to do a cleanup, rename and move my music folder that contains all my music classified by artists alongside the iTunes folder.

Fortunately for me I have zero confidence for Apple, as they were ISIS, so I hold the number and the location of the files because I realize that of course when a play one music it plays very well because itunes detects the song even though she move which it is supposed to do with finder file system.

But then I restart iTunes to test and here you have this infuriating, incomprehensible problem "song not found" with all my songs, and even if I indicate the new positioning of the library this shit of iTunes is unable to find the songs and it will probably take years to re-index, as iTunes was even able to this without * computer.

So: How can I move/rename my file without iTunes * up to the library and the paths of the music? Or is there any decent replacement for this * software yet? I have a lot of things and people to manage just in music, even if I used it for 15 years I don't have the patience to endure this * voluntarily, Apple seems to make it worse every update, more.

See make a library of portable split.

  • HP pavilion hpe h8-1020: evga geforce gtx 950 in hp pavilion hpe h8-1020

Hello guys I have a hp pavilion hpe h8-1020 and I am looking to upgrade to a nvidia gtx 950 is it compatibile, what I need to supply?

    Hello

There is a unknown specification for your motherboard that will prevent you from installing a new 3.0 PCIe x 16 graphics card. Maps 3.0 is backward compatible with PCIe x 16 2.0 slots. Your motherboard may have a PCIe x 16 1.0 slot. None of these options below works on your PC if you have PCIe x 16 version 1.0

The Radeon HD 6570, an option to purchase, is a PCIe x 16 card USB2.0. You can have a 2.0 slot. It is unclear when we look at the characteristics of HP for your PC.

I got a HD 6570. You could not install drivers from AMD with the version of HP of this card. You need to use the HP drivers. It is possible that this card is not a 2.0 card even if the consumer version is a USB2.0 card. We can only guess.

MSI is rolling out hybrid Nvidiacards soon. Try anything tangible yet seen. NVIDIA is slowly releasing the 1000 series cards that require less power. Maybe some OEM will also include hybrid versions that will work on your PC any time.

The 900 series Nvidia graphics cards need the UEFI BIOS.

Your PC has a legacy BIOS.

You have a 300 Watt power supply. You will have to upgrade from food to run a card AMD and respect the strict minimum if you can install a TG 640 GDDR5 map.

You may be able to install (you need a PCIe x 16 slot 2.0) Nvidia 600 series cards or watch hybrid of AMD cards by Sapphire.

AMD cards are longer and require larger power supplies.

You should check that you have the power and the room to install two graphics cards. The cards are also double slot. You will need to verify that you can install a card double slot. Even once, you need a PCIe x 16 slot on the motherboard 2.0.

    See you soon!

  • HP Pavilion HPE h8 - 1380t CTO: compatibility problems, ask questions about knitting-by-turn or possible motherboard replacement.

I recently baught an EVGA GTX 1060, as this 630 became quite long in the tooth and I thought that I would try to future proof myself a little as the rest of my components seem to be working very well.  However, I can't get the map to work correctly on this particular computer.  Oddly enough, I can get past that screen startup finally after several short beeps and let it sit, but it takes fowever to reach the office and clearly is not executed properly that the resolution is wobbly and software from Nvidia cannot even detect the card.  I guess I had got this far because of the onboard graphics of some sort, but AFAIK this motherboard which lacks.

I know that the card works fine as I tested it in my other Tower, so I struggled to find a solution.  So far, it seems that the problem is most likely the motherboard, as HP does not have a new BIOS for it since the beginning of 2013 (which I did go ahead and install it).  If true, I find myself with either two options, it seems that the ditch system, entirely or find a motherboard that works with all my old components.  I'd rather not have to empty this workaholic, when all other parts work great, if it is not a work around I would like to know if there are motherboards I could pass that would work with the rest of my components.  Normally I would not bother with even apply for, but I hear a lot of chatter on HP PCs pre-constructed having compatibility problems.

I bought this computer there is in the case of four years that I would be able to update as I do with any other PC, but I didn't know at the time that HP has a tendency to not update the BIOS settings for anything beyond a year which I admit is incredibly frustrating.  What is done is done however, and I want to make this work without having to clear the entire system.

    @Faver, welcome to the forum.

Your problem is the BIOS.  However, it is because the 1060 GTX requires UEFI in the motherboard instead of a standard/Legacy BIOS.  HP didn't start using UEFI until mid-October 2012.  The BIOS may not be upgraded in the UEFI.  The last cards only not for UEFI were the GTX 660/670.

MSI made cards with a switch that can be used with a Legacy BIOS or UEFI.  If you decide to go this way, you must contact their Technical Support to help them choose the best card for your system.

The upgrade of the motherboard can be a problem.  HP has taken advice their specifications.  Therefore, they are not necessarily the same as the commercial versions.  Please make sure that the holes in the motherboard matches the accessory in the case.  In addition, some members have had problems with the connectors in the connections case before, for example, the power button.

  • iTunes Music folder structure is messed up

    Hello

I use the latest edition of iTunes on a PC for Windows 10.

Today, I have activated the option "keep iTunes Media folder." organized I think I know that iTunes puts the music in the folder Media\Music of... \iTunes. I also installed iTunes on my laptop to doublecheck, and there he put my music in the music folder, as it should, so there must be a specific problem with the unit. Is there a file that may be damaged or something? Any ideas?

    Thank you and best regards

I was able to solve the problem with the ALT-> file-> library-> library organization... and then check ' rearrange files in the folder "iTunes Media.

I've had a few confusing issues with my internet connection for a few weeks now:
