Pavilion m6 overheating

I bought my M6 Pavilion year last for games and would use a lot because it worked great back then but slowly got worse from overheating. Initially, he would never overheat, but about six months, he would begin to overheat after 3 or more hours of straight play. (what is to be expected) But now it takes 10-20 minutes game before it stops, and the laptop is not really hot at all. I googled had my problem and found no awnsers that actully worked and I am really desperate for an awnser. I'm only 14 so I don't really no knowledge on the functioning of computers or anything and I do not have enough money to buy something else. If someone could help that would be great.

Hi, you get an error 90 b on start up? You can buy a box of compressed air and evacuate the air under your laptop and on the side ducts to release part of the dust etc that is in the ventilation system. checkurtech

  • HP A7M86EA Pavilion Dv6: overheating?

    Hello

I love my HP laptop! I would say you guys made a super job! Just that I don't know if my temperatures are harmful or not:

I bought this laptop 30 June 2014... (1 year tomorrow and always love) But my time seem to be a little high.

Using "Speccy" Piriform, I realized my temperatures are as follows idle:

    CPU: 51 degrees C

    Motherboard: 52 degrees C

    GPU: 49 degrees C

    Storage: 40 degrees C.

When I play games like FIFA 15, my temperatures are as follows:

    CPU: 89-94 degrees C

    Motherboard: 89-96 degrees C

    GPU: 92-96 degrees C

Storage: 48 degrees C (not not worried about this)

I'm afraid to remove my keyboard to move fans to clean. What I've tried is: use a blow dryer (cold air) on the ventilation openings (removed dust)

So what do you suggest I do?

Also, are my temperatures, or am I exaggerting?

    Thank you

  • Dv6 A7M86EA: Pavilion dv6 overheating (7690 m thermal regulation XT)

I really used to love my laptop... but now she don't be Butterfly game while... I cleaned the fan and the heat sink and still it overheats again like a crazy thing (degrees of CPU:92... GPU:103 degrees) so is my conclusion after reading many other positions, dv6 books present a TERRIBLE DESIGN. And to make it worse, HP does not even give a care. Never buy this nonsence.

    Hey guys...

So after finding that some people on this forum are rude and you will say to download the drivers that have been published in 2011, I've decided I want to experiment a bit. Update my drivers did indeed do the trick (GPU temperatures went from 103 degrees at 87 degrees in the game even after the same amount of time)

I did not use the official HP drivers because I have the most recent version, and he made my thermal gas of the GPU like crazy. PS: If you have the xt 7690 m GPU, it is indeed the 6770 m with 2 GB of memory instead of 1 GB

BEFORE DOING ONE OF THE FOLLOWING STEPS, I RECOMMEND YOU DO A SYSTEM RESTORE POINT

    1. I downloaded drivers that are found on the official site of AMD ( http://support.amd.com/en-us/download )
    2. Because I have 7690 m xt (AKA: 6770 m), I downloaded the drivers under the following heading: AMD Radeon™ HD 6000 M and HD 5000 M series
    3. Once the download of the driver is finished, go to Device Manager and open the menu drop-down 'graphics cards. Then, remove the AMD GPU drivers. Don't worry if your resolution seems a little weird now.
    4. Download Driver Fusion ( https://treexy.com/products/driver-fusion ), and then remove the remains of the AMD drivers.
    5. Restart your computer.
    6. Switch to Wi - Fi or any other mechanism for connecting to the internet.
    7. Install the AMD drivers downloaded earlier.
    8. Once the installation is complete, restart your laptop.
    9. Everything should be good now. You can also switch on Wi - Fi if necessary

  • HP Pavilion DV4-5110TX overheating and thermal shutdown problem

    HP Pavilion DV4-5110TX under Windows 7 Ultimate x 64

I had problems with this computer from the beginning, to be honest.  But now the situation is unbearable.

I can't go even 30 minutes making the slightly intensive tasks involving the graphics card
(Like the game in low detail, do a rendering/CS/CAD work) without thermal shutdown due to a problem of overheating as a result of misplaced fan. and the fan on this thing is very very strong, even in low market (another downside of this model, but it's not the point).

SpeedFan shows average at 90 c CPU and GPU Temp about 65 ° c temp. Even when doing absolutely nothing (like now). What does really serve to accumulate all these heat? solve the world huger?

I tried to clean the vents, use the Compressed Air used an expensive Cooler Fan, reinstalled Windows and other drivers HP and demand several times now. and I exhuasted.

    Then. Help? Anyone?

Hello Opscsd.  I understand you are having some problems with the closing of overheating and/or random downs.

How long have you had this laptop?  It is still under warranty?

The fan makes a noise of rattling sound similar to what you would expect if the fan was loose or is it simply "strong"?

You have ensured that you have the latest version of the BIOS?  You said you updated the drivers and applications so I assure you.  I think it's the latest BIOS for your laptop.

I would also make the built in Diagnostics for hardware (RAM and hard drive because they both can cause similar symptoms).  This will help narrow down the cause.  If you don't know how to do these tests take a look at this document.  Be sure to view the results.

I will keep an eye out for your answer.  I wish you a great weekend!

  • HP Dv6 Pavilion 3100us: laptop overheating

Product name: hp pavilion dv6 3100us
Operating system: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)
I would like to start by saying as I type this on my laptop HP Pavilion Dv6 3100us... I am in courses run to 84 * c. I've defragmented my hard drive. I took more than 100 GB on my hard drive. Even, I opened my laptop and made a careful cleaning of it all the way to the motherboard 3 times in the month! Not only I already checked the programs running in the background and follow-up. I also changed my power supply for the power saving mode options which makes my state minimum processir 5% and my max as 5%. I also am 95% positive that my bios and all my drivers for this computer is up to date. This computer isn't old yet I got it around 2013.
    My speculations are the following:
    500GB hard drive
    2.1 GHz
Processor of AMD N950 Quad-Core (5650 to be exact)
    Windows Pro 64-bit 10
    x 64 bit processor low
    8 GB Ram

I'm so confused. I want just a normal laptop, so I can bring one to school and have full confidence that I hear a * beep * fan in a college class...

Thanks for the advice in advance.

    HI @vince1234567890,.

    Thank you for your query.

I understand that you have a problem of overheating and you've cleaned the book 3 times in the last month.  You have defragmented your hard drive and removed 100 GB to free up space. You have also changed the power settings and checked for background programs running.

You think you have the latest version of the bios installed.  When I checked the updated BIOS, although there is none listed on Windows 10 are 2 under Windows 7.  Here is a link to the HP Support Assistant , which should help in this process.  You can manually download the updates from the Pavilion dv6-3120us software page and the pilot.

Computers laptops HP - Fan is Noisy and runs constantly, PC is hotter than normal

This started to happen when you upgraded to Windows 10?

You did all your Windows updates?

This step can help find additional drivers.

Here is a link to Open the Windows Update troubleshooting tool that can help to find additional drivers.   Although it lists Windows 7 it does not work in Windows 10.

Once launched, it should show a screen like this.

Use the second "Background Intelligent Transfer Service" option, this should lead to an update of the 'Windows updates' which cannot be automatically applied, which might fix some of these issues.

Have you ran the Windows troubleshooting tool?

Have you checked for virus or malware?  MS malware removal tool

You see errors or blows to the devices in the Device Manager?

What is the State of the fan itself?

I stumbled upon your post on the laptop and wanted to help you! I looked in your question about your HP Pavilion Notebook dv6-2155ee and overheating problems. Here is a link for troubleshooting overheating on the laptop.

I recommend to restore default BIOS. You can restore the BIOS with this document by selecting reload the default BIOS settings. This will restore all the settings back to the original if something has updated and working properly with the fans causing overheating.

  • Pavilion overheating

I have a pavilion with Win XP a520n home and 1024 RAM.

I also have a GeForce 6200 256 MB video card to run some games on.

My problem is that sometimes the computer stops and restarts or crashes to the desktop when I play. According to me, that it is associated with heat.

I used Speedfan to check the temperature and get 53 c with minor surfing and 67C during the execution of a game.

I don't know where to go from here.

I solved the problem of overheating in the power supply by ordering an external fan that plugs into the USB port.  It is a Thermaltake Mobile II external USB cooling fan.  I have it attached to the back of the PC with some small Springs, I bought at Home Depot and some velcro and it sucks all the heat on the vents and keep cool.  It includes a variable speed control which I sent in the middle and it works fine.  I think I got it from Amazon.com and it left www.xppassport.com in Clearwater Florida.  It's less than $20.
