Pavilion Notebook 17-f023cl: how to get a recovery disk

My hard drive has failed.  I ordered a new one. How can I get a recovery disk? I've been on all the HP site with no luck.  It doesn't seem to be one that I can order from HP.

Hello;

Let me welcome you on the HP forums!

I read your post about needing recovery media and wanted to help.

What is this PC come preinstalled with Win10?

Ask, because this is the link to recovery for your PC for Win8.1 media: https://support.hp.com/us-en/mediaorder/HP-Pavilion-17-Notebook-PC-series/6936220/model/7155668/softwareitem/778405-002/step1

This link came this drivers and software, page: http://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/HP-Pavilion-17-Notebook-PC-series/6936220/model/7155668

And when PC preinstalled with the operating system, HP generally provides a recovery media for this version of the OS.

If you restore media Win8.1, you can always go back to Win10 because your PC is already registered with the Activation Win10 servers.

Good luck

I'm a volunteer and I do not work for, or represent, HP.

  • Re: Satellite M100-164 - how to get the recovery disk?

    Hi, I have a used Satellite M100-164. (short only model no psma0e)

    Its a M100 changed for the Middle East market as well far as I can tell its basically the same as the European models of M100, except with a smaller hard drive.

    I bought it in a store of play (Computer Exchange in London), but it did not come with a recovery disk.

    Also, I was a little too active pro removing unwanted software of the machine, so I have not installed the Toshiba tools that would be able to create a recovery disk.

    Now I need one because I want to install a bigger hard drive and then re - build the operating system (which is XP)

    * So my question is, where and how do I get a recovery for this notebook drive? *

    I tried to use https://backupmedia.toshiba.eu, but it did not work because the serial number was not recognized (probably because it is a region of the Middle East series no)

    is there another way to get the Toshiba recovery disks? I'm happy to pay a little for one.

    Hello

    In most cases it is possible to get the EPA recovery disc in your country.
    But this is not always possible if the laptop model is too old or abandoned.

    Therefore, get in touch with the ASP guy and ask for more details.
    Maybe you are a lucky man and could get this disc.

    If you will not get this disc, you will need to install the OS by using the MS XP disk.
    Pilots must be placed on the page of Toshiba Europe!

    Hello

    I m not very good if you want to be able to order the recovery for this unit disc, because in very rare cases, the recovery disc may be pronounced if the laptop model is too old.

    So I hope that you can order it here:

  • How to get system recovery disks

    original title: need to erase my hard drive to get rid of a virus, but the laptop did not come with disks in the system, because they were already installed on the laptop. What should I do?

    I bought a laptop computer three years ago and I had very little trouble with it. But recently, it has become very slow, even though I have plenty of hard drive on the left. When it's built in wifi suddenly stopped one day, that I took it to the geek squad in PC World, who told the driver he had been uninstalled and who, after having worked on my laptop and see how slow and it was slow, it was probably the result of a virus.

    I was told my only option to remove potential viruses was to back up my files and wipe my hard drive for all files. I was quoted £60 for this service so I went home and saved the files I wanted to keep on my laptop hard drive. I wiped my old PC hard drive before you delete the virus and I could then reinstall Windows and the built in programs using records systems. However, I bought this new laptop and all programs have been preinstalled and came with no system disk.

    What is the best way to go on my hard disk wiping programs and files without Windows, or should I just pay PC World to do properly?

    Thanks for the help :))

    When you clean your hard drive, it is wiped away.

    You must reinstall Windows during this process.

    Vista recovery media obtain and/or use the Partition Recovery Vista on your computer to the factory settings .

    There is no Vista free download legal available.

    Contact your computer manufacturer and ask them to send a recovery disk/s Vista set.

    In addition, ask them if you have a recovery Partition on your computer/laptop to restore it to factory settings.

    Another way I've seen on some models is press F8 and go to a list of startup options, and launch a recovery of standards of plant with it, by selecting the repair option.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Also ask them if it is possible to do the recovery disk/s for the recovery Partition in case of a system Crash or hard drive failure.
    They will tell you how to do this.
    There are 2 disks of Vista: one for 32-bit operating system, and one for 64-bit operating system.
    If install a cleaning is required with a good DVD of Vista (not HP, Dell recovery disks):
    At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu
    Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.
  • How to get a recovery disk
    original title: I bought my laptop in 2009 with vista and then I had a problem and it was not there, and I could not put this back the shop never gave me a disk but I have the product number for it.
    so I don't want a new drive can get back on
    You need get the manufacturer's recovery disks.  With the key product does not help (well, it helps because you will evenaully be able to install and activate the system)- but this doesn't help not in what concerns obtaining a disc.  Microsoft does not give free installation floppies (even if you can prove that you purchased the product or have a receipt).  Here is Microsoft's policy on replacement software:http://support.microsoft.com/kb/326246 , which, as you can see basically leave you to deal with the manufacturer.  They should be able to provide recovery discs at a reasonable price.  Remember that this will work as a clean install, so you will need to backup your data, because everything will be wiped.  If you have any questions about the recovery process, ask the manufacturer, because it is their product - not Microsoft and we have no information on it (regardless of which manufacturer it is).
    Another option is to borrow a real full Vista Installation disk of the same size of the bit of anyone and use it with your product key to install.  It cannot be an OEM installation disc or the recovery from another computer or installation disk will most likely fail, you can mess up your devices with bad drivers, and you can actually cause damage to the system.
    I hope this helps.
    Good luck!
  • HP Pavilion Notebook 15-p045nd: how to get rid of drivers Audio Beats on Windows 10
    Hello!
    First of all, I don't like the Beats Audio software. The sound is really compressed and sounds really bad.
    I used to have Windows 8.1 and at that time, I could simply uninstall the audio drivers and Windows installed a generic.
    Some time ago I updated to Windows 10 and pilots were back...
    I tried the same trick to remove them as I did in point 8.1 of Windows, but it does not work. I tried everything I could find on the internet to get rid of it, but nothing works.
    He comes back and I can't find a way to uninstall the beats.
    I have a Realtek chipset.
    Anyone got a solution to remove Beats Audio and install a generic driver (flat eq)?
    Kind regards
    Lunatic
    HP will never be nothing more on audio Beats.
    Despite the many complaints, HP never gave the visitors the possibility to withdraw the Beats audio facility and just install a generic audio driver IDT or Realtek.
    Windows 10 installation or upgrade a version of Windows or even do a Windows update in your current version of Windows, can automatically install the device driver for your device. Under normal conditions, that's what you want, but in this case, this means also having to be stuck with Beats audio filters. As far as I could gather with my limited knowledge of device drivers, the Beats audio is just some jointly installed software filters when you install the driver for your audio device. You would think that this would make the separation of the pilot and beats filters (filters Beats are actually just made by different companies and sleuthed together), but that has not happened so far. Probably all reasons contractual nonsense.
    So far the only 'solution' is to revisit the pilot standard windows audio of such.
    I say we leave the Realtek HD audio driver installed, because it can automatically return to the update of Windows or during the uninstallation.
    All you have to do is to go into Device Manager (icon on the Windows contextual menu-> click-> Device Manager click Open: his video, game controllers-> click on the tab for device-> driver driver uppdate button-> Browse software-click my computer for driver software-> let me pick from a list of drivers for devices on my computer) Select high definition Audio Device, click Next and follow the instructions to install it.
    Who should install the Microsoft version of the audio driver and could not properly the tsar your speakers, but will bypass the Beats audio filters.
    Hope it helps you too.
  • How can I get my recovery disks to work? I just got back my laptop to factory settings.
    I have a HP Pavilion dv5 laptop MODEL # 2045 X, (Windows 7 home Premium) Serial # CNU0202M8K
    Due to some problems, he was advised to return our computer to factory settings. I did as instructed by my computer, my computer has been provided with a set of 5 recovery disks made and who is given to us in a global market by the seller of Best Buy Geek Squad. After "wiping the computer" and return to the factory settings as I was not able to load the recovery discs when inserted the computer simply wonder how I want open, only option was to read the files, I looked at the and he didn't file labeled 'start' or 'auto start' or 'autorun' so do not know how to install these recovery disks they have programs and important files on them. Please help me!
    Hello:
    You cannot run Windows Recovery discs.
    I guess that the disks are labeled 1-5?
    You insert disk 1 into the DVD player. Restart the PC.
    At the beginning of the HP welcome screen, press the F9 key to start the start time menu. Select the DVD - ROM drive, and then press the Enter key.
    Watch then a line will appear on your screen to hit any key to boot from the DVD. Press a key.
    The PC should now boot from the recovery disc and you simply follow the instructions on the screen.
    Before using these disks, make sure that you have backed up the files you want to keep, like everything you have on the hard drive now will be lost once the recovery process starts.
    The only thing I do not understand in your message, it's that you say that you have restored your computer to its factory settings.
    The recovery disks will just do the same thing. He won't do anything more or less on the recovery disks that is on there now.
  • My hard drive has failed. I have Microsoft XP media center edition 2005. How can I get a recovery disk?
    I had a hard disk crash.  I don't care about data loss, but I bought a new hard drive and you want to install Windows XP media center edition 2005.  I have a sticker on the side of my pc with the product code.  How can I get a recovery disk?  Download the program from another PC?
    As your original failed hard drive, you would of course not be able to access any partition contained on this hard drive recovery.  Therefore, your best option is to contact the manufacturer of the computer and see if you can get the installation of their own media.
    Your T500 can burn CDs at least, and if you can access Windows, you should be able to burn a set of recovery disks.
  • Pavilion 4070 - us: new hard drive for the recovery disks do not work! Help!
    Hi - the hard drive on my Pavilion 4070 - crashed us, so I bought a replacement - a Samsung SSD 850 EVO, 256GB drive.  The problem is that I can't seem to get the recovery disks to work, and neither Microsoft nor HP is willing to help me.  Of course, Microsoft tells me they don't give me any help for Windows7 OEM versions and HP said that my product is no longer supported so they do not help me.  This is ridiculous - I own a legal copy of Windows 7 and I can't get any help from the company who sold me the computer?
    What happens when I go through the process of installation with the recovery discs, is that instead of the Windows installation continue as it is supposed to, I have "no boot device - insert boot disk and press any key any."  I'm desperate, I tried two different options - one was the minimum image recovery, the other was a factory restore.  Nothing seems to work. What can I do?   Moreover, the original hard drive is not * completely * dead - I can still access most of the data on it.
    Hey Buddy,
    I think you need to install the proper drivers because the other recovery disk contains bad drivers. Simply visit the Web from Toshiba:
    Also Toshiba you can t get a recovery disk. You will need to contact an authorized service provider.
