movie maker error: a video capture devices are not detected

Filmmaker gives the following statement. A video capture devices are not detected. My camera is plugged in and turned on. This has not happened before.

What is it?

How is it connected?

Filmmaker works with mini camcorders dv connected FireWire, the firewire driver is installed by microsoft, you should not need to reinstall it, apart from a few special cases.

This device and cable worked before?

If so, what was the alst time and have you made any changes to the computer since then?

    Hello

Description of errors related to the 10 Code that generates the Device Manager in Windows on computers
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/943104/

Please make all below even if you have done some before as it is often the set of operations which solves the problem.

    Try this - Panel - Device Manager - CD/DVD - double-click on the device - driver tab - click
Update the drivers (this will probably do nothing) - then RIGHT click the drive - UNINSTALL - REBOOT
This will refresh the default driver stack.

Then, work your way through these - don't forget the drive might be bad, could be a loose cable or
slight corrosion on the contacts (usually for a laptop) and other issues.

Another possibility is that the cables are loose. Remove ALL power, then make sure that the cables in both
ends. Remove and replace, do not just tight. For laptops, you can often clean power and
contacts data with a pencil eraser.

Some DVD players do not use the Windows default drivers so check with the manufacturer of system and
manufacturer of device to see if there is a firmware or drivers for your drive if necessary.

    Hope these helps.

What is the model of your Canon camcorder? If records to

Also... USB is not the best method to download... Movie Maker
has been designed to work with FireWire.

  • Bluetooth randomly, and now the device is not detected

    Hello

I bought a laptop 15-J108la want a month ago (8.1 Windows 64). I also bought a Microsoft bluetooth mouse to use with it.

I first noticed mouse stoped working randomly, maybe 2 times a day. Sometimes it was enough to turn off and on again to get it back, but sometimes I had to reboot.

I updated the driver bluetooth (Bluetooth 4.0 Driver Intel, 2014-01-18, Version 3.1), the problem persisted, but seemed less frequent.

After you install an update for the wireless network card device manager today announced that Intel Bluetooth 4.0 device has been failing. Try to dissable and reactivate, but the device has simply disappeared. Now the Device Manager indicates an "unknown USB device" with error 43, and Bluetooth devices are not detected, no matter how many times I reboot.

Any help will be much appreciated.

    Ricardo

Using the generic drivers provided with windows 8.1 instead of Intel drivers, finally solved the problem.

No more intermittent, peripheral stranger either.

I was foolish enough to install the latest driver updated to Intel to see if it has addressed the problem, but it was as bad as before. I had to go back to the generic drivers, once again and voila: everything works like a charm again.

    I hope this helps others.

And Intel: come on, you should do better!

  • This is a video capture device?

Anyone know what it is? It came with a workstation about 5 years ago. I was under the impression that it is a video capture device, but I don't understand why there is a vga (?) connector on the end. Or I guess it's a connector series 15-pin. How can you "entry" for a video card? What do you give him? I suppose it could simply convert entered composite/s-video for a serial output, which then connects to a real video capture card. Isn't it? Video capture devices do not have their own composite entries?

If it is in fact a video capture device, is there a manual for this? How to use it? Is it good?

    Thank you

  • Windows Movie Maker error importation 'may not be imported. "An interface has too many methods to fire from.

I'm doing a movie using Windows Movie Maker and hobby clips that I converted to VHS using Roxio Easy VHS tapes to DVD converter.  When I try to import the file into the Movie Maker, I get a message saying 'could not be imported. "An interface has too many methods to fire from.  What should I do?

This happens usually when your source files are
not compatible with Movie Maker. Best bet would be
be to convert video files to WMV format
before you import into Movie Maker.

There are many converters available on the net... some
    free... some detail.

The following freeware converter is just one example:

(FWIW... it's always a good idea to create a system)
Restore point before installing software or updates)

    Format Factory (freeware)
    http://www.videohelp.com/tools/Format_Factory
(the 'direct link' is faster download)
(the file you want to download is: > FFSetup290.zip<>
    (FWIW... installation..., you can uncheck
('all' boxes on the final screens)
    (Windows XP / Vista / 7)

First, you will need to decompress the file or just open the
    Drag > FFSetup290.exe< out="" of="" the="">
and drop it on your desktop. To install left click.

Next, after the download and installation of Format
Factory... you can open the program and
left click on the toolbar, the "Option" button and
"Select an output folder to" / apply / OK.
(this is where you find your files after they)
    are converted)

Drag and drop your video clips on the main screen...

Select "all to WMV" / OK...

Click on... Beginning... in the toolbar...

    That should do it...

    Good luck...

  • Windows Movie Maker is important video imcompletely (only five seconds to hour long video)

I tried to import this hour long video in windows movie maker, and the result is that only five seconds of the video is imported. I tried over and over again, but still five seconds of the video is imported. I have searched the Internet for answers, but impossible to find a single solution to all but one of this forum that leads to a page for the Director in windows vista, which certainly does not help. Any help on this situation would be greatly appreciated. If it helps, I am running Service Pack 2 for Windows XP Home 32-bit Edition.

The extension is (.mpg). I've just updated to Service Pack 3, but the problem is still persistent... Right, the Windows Movie Maker version is 5.1, if it helps.

    =====================================
The problem is the file format. If you convert the MPG file
in WMV format, you can have better results.

Several formats are apparently compatible with
Movie Maker, but the most reliable choices are:

    Photos - bmp
Video - wmv or dv - avi
    Music - wma, wav, wmv
