Pavilion p7 - 1227c: SSD install problems

I have a Pavilion p7 - 1227c. Only the keyboard and mouse and connected monitor.

I installed a new 240 GB Intel SSD Kit.  I released the original disc of 2 TB and used the SATA and power for the SSD connectors.

I restarted and put the 1st recovery of 4 DVD in the slot.  Next-System Recovery (run the media program) started with the installation process,

restore the factory step 1 image, reformat the HD windows partition, but stopped almost 29% in 1 DVD with the following message.   "hp recovery manager cannot restore your computer by using the original image.  "Please contact HP support 0xe0ef000e error code.

Which is weird, the recovery dvd created 4 partitions on the SSD drive-> (100 MB/Healthy primary part, 98 GB/Healthy primary partition, 110 GB unallocated and 17 GB primary partition ACTIVE healthy with a startup folder, hp, preload and recovery).

My goal is to have SSD boot windows 7 and applications. and the 2nd disc (the original 2 TB) for all files (documents, photos, music).

To start, I recovered and connected the original 2 TB drive with SSD and looked 'disk management '.  The SSD is showing with NTFS.

So, how can I get windows 7 installed from the recovery on the SSD disks (with or without the original disk is connected?

I wanted to do an install clean, but anyway to copy of win 7 into the SSD?

So I messed up in the installation procedure.  Best way to start over.

You are the very welcome, Chuck.

Other than his software use of cloning to get installed W7, I don't know any other way to make it happen.

Only using three DIMMs will force the PC to run in single channel mode.

Your first consideration should be Support HP or HP sales during the consideration of upgrades or replacement of memory. If you want to consider other manufacturers of the best way to avoid memory problems is to contact one of the leading manufacturers of memory. I would recommend that you try the tools of these manufacturers: Corsair, Kingston andCrucial. Once you have determined the DIMMs that you need, then contact commercial or technical support to check that you have selected the correct DIMMS. If you buy directly from manufacturers, then they will stand behind their products.

  • Pavilion DV7-2185DX: SSD install on a HP Pavilion DV7-2185dx

I want to know what issues and hardware do I need to install an SSD 480 GB drive in my laptop as main drive?  Please consider the SATA and power consumption when you reply.

    Thank you!!!

Already considered. The type SATA or power is a matter of concern. Just remove the existing mechanical drive and install the SSD. The worst thing you can do is overthink. The SSD model I would stay far from East MX100 Crucial... I prefer the Samsung 850 Evo, but you can't go wrong with all major brands.

The BIOS is set to fully support the ahci and SSD use less energy. Your laptop's SATA-II but a SSD SATA-III will downclock and fine workmanship.

A second hard drive to your laptop can support if you only now, you can put your mechanical drive in the second Bay. Newmodeus.com sells the hard drive after the caddy/connector kits. Just be sure and get the right for the dv7-2000 series; They vary a little. The second hard drive kit makes cloning really easy too... everything is possible inside the laptop.

  • I have a Samsung NP900X4C laptop (with a 256GB SSD installed) and screwed up through the installation of Win7Prof instead of the upgrade.

Original title: clean install Win 7 64 bit

Like others, I have a problem with a clean install of Win 7 64 bit Proffesional. I have a Samsung NP900X4C laptop (with a 256GB SSD installed) and screwed up through the installation of Win7Prof instead of the upgrade. A lot of the buiult in functions do work not (Wireless; Hiring of video, USB Ports etc.) and to top it all off I get now blue screen errors...

If installing from an external DVD drive, crosses, it shows that the HARD drive has already 4 partitions.

    Partition 1 (e :)) Disk0

    Disk0 Partition 2

    Disk0 3 (C :) Partition System

Disk0 Partition 4 hidden OEM Partition.

So far I have just selected Heve installation on Partition 3 C: System.

Y at - it a utility that I can use to retrieve the data from the OEM Partition I want to return to the initial state by default if possible.

If not what is the best utility to use repartition (how many and what size?) and format the HDD.

    Cordially chrisxsmith

The best you can do is to contact Samsung and request recovery media to restore your system to its factory default state.

Call Samsung to get a recovery disc - to find a phone number for your location:

Thank you Andre, very appreciated, unfortunately Samsung and their Tech Support here in the UNITED Arab Emirates was not as useful.

I managed to keep the button restore during the 5 sec boot process that initiated the request 5 restore Samsung which was then able to take the original installation of the hidden Partition image.

    Fortunately the issue is resolved.

  • HP Pavilion Dv7 6154ea: 6154ea HP Pavillion Dv7 SSD install

    Hello

Adding an 840 Samsung 120 GB SSD evo after experiencing blue screen errors quite frequently on the current 500 gb HDD Momentus. Instead of going down the road HDD has decided to invest in a SSD having recently started working with design, software development. Have a black WD 500 GB internal, which is used for external ups back who will now be a secondary internal drive.

Errors, crashes seem to be a common problem with me losing valuable data several times in the past, so don't can afford many more mistakes if you are looking for the most reliable, safe, an effective way to go whether...

At the recovery of windows 7 CD bought a year ago, to restore from windows 8, computer laptop second hand purchase. Make a copy of windows 8 at the time.

s summer absorbing much info as possible.

Decided to clone the HDD to the SDS that seems very simple. I hope to have enough time to clone it sounds really as if it was his breath... strange distorted sounds.

In any case have a special software which I can't find the cd for cloning would save me many things allowing me to go to my work. This will be possible with cloning, or is their something else I am missing to get a program to work.

Have saved most of the files on the external HARD drive that I intend to use later as the secondary. So simply will delete them from the HARD disk as well as the programs files not wanted on the SSD as the 120 GB is not much room I guess.

Will use free software provided free of charge by samsung that seems to be good for the job.

I know the answers are already mentioned here, but if someone could let me know if their anything I'm missing or could be used to improve things, the longevity of the SSD.

    The plan is:

-Insert the SSD for laptop via sata to usb cable

-With the Samsungs software clone disk to SDS

    -Set AHCI in the bios

    -restart the laptop

    -enter in bios

-Select the boot order to SSD first.

    -AHCI box

    -Save and enjoy

-If everything stops correctly, power on, insert hard disk backup into the secondary Bay and it's all good

    sounds good?

Been reading a lot about files which are re-written or modified attribute as a page file of OS which does not have to be registered on the SSD. In any case their links I have for what seem to be simple. Directory for saving files using programs will be on the HARD drive. Can still move after anyway

Nothing else to ensure the sailing smooth completely?

    Hello

It's great that you decided to do a new installation instead of cloning. Cloning of a HDD failure can cause a lot of problems in the long term.

When you install Windows be sure to disconnect your old drive HARD and WD Black drive PC's HARD otherwise, Windows install will place the system partition booked on one of the hard drives.
The drivers, you can just put on a USB stick and install from the USB after Windows is installed. Good luck.

  • HP Pavilion p6 - 2176 s: install Windows 7 on SSD without disc

    Hello

I want to install Windows 7 on an SSD (I plan on getting a Samsung 850 Evo 128 GB) but I can't get one any file or installation disk. My PC did not come with a disk, only a code produced on the case. I went to the site of software recovery of Microsoft and typed code, but he told me that the product was not supported, as it was an OEM copy. I could try to create a restoration disk using the recovery on my main hard drive partition, but I heard the average success rate that was weak. Any suggestions on how to get the OS on the SSD drive? I have a 16GB Flash Drive if necessary void.

Yes it is a way to do it.

If your hard drive still has the partition recovery on it, you can use the feature of factory restore from the Recovery Manager which will effectively drive to the same state that when you got the computer.  Coaurse, there will be a lot of bloatware which you could uninstall before cloning.

If the recovery partition does not work and you have not created discs recovery when you got the computer, you can order them from HP.
