  Hi, what you want to do first is remove the (memory) ram sticks and put back them in. Re-allocation of places your RAM sticks can solve your problem. If you also have a video pci-express agp/pci/or card so you can re seat which as well.

  The RAM sticks are borads green circuit that chips on them in sizes of 3-inch 1 in. (approximately). They are kept in that they place in the motherboard by white tabs on both sides.

  Try these steps below after reading and see the diagram with the photos on page 7 to 9 from the link below.

  (1) unplug the power cable from the back of the pc, unscrew the screws at the back of the large pc Tower and then remove the side panel (the side of the pc stands out).

  (2) then put the pc on the side, with the open side facing upwards so you can look down in and locate the locations of memory. Don't forget to look for the white tabs holding them places.

  (3) once find you them, they are usually 1, 2, or 4 sticks them to total, to make the next step to each stick, one at a time.

  First, push the white paws holding a stick of ram and the ram stick will pop out and you can pull it up towards you. Then everything just put back, push down (not too hard, careful not to damage it or the Board of Directors) and then the white tabs will click in each side. Make sure that you put the lever of ram you out in the same way, don't flit it that it will in a sense.

  (4) after that for all the RAM sticks, check inside the computer to make sure the cables are not loose and connected as they should be and then replace the side panel and the screw and turn on the pc and see what happens.

  I suggest start by checking all the connections inside and out of the case.  It could be as simple as a loose connection.

  The beeps are called the BIOS beep codes.  Here's a guide to help you diagnose the problem:

  New HP Pavilion Slimline desktop 400-314 - mode 'sleep' sometimes cause to lock the computer, the power light is on, the fan runs at the top.  Only way to unlock the computer is to hold the power button for 5 seconds.  I wait 15-20 seconds, then press the power button to wake it up.  Immediately the computer restarts to the top with solid power light and the fan turns at the top.  The only way to break this vicious circle must first pull the power cord to the rear, wait 30 seconds and plug it in again.  This time, when I turn on the computer it goes off just fine.

  Is this a BIOS problem?  Please help as I don't have that much hair left.

  * Solved * Finally!  After 8 grueling days of pain staking agony and incessant attempts to fix this thing, I finally solved my problem.  I spent countless hours on the phone with HP support and nothing resolved.  That is: the problem with this computer locking up and sending the fan at high spin was due only with external speakers. When you reset the power system disconnected to boot the system, he would normally go for at least half a day before locking up.  I discovered that the speakers are older than 15 years.   You mean you can get a new motherboard? Yes, but all motherboards AMD for this series have problems. They are not news so all of them were made at the same time and are subject to the same problems. It is now quite obsolete. A new motherboard will cost perhaps $135. There are services on the internet that will repair the motherboard for as little as $50 if you can remove it and ship just the motherboard. You could get another year or so out of it, if you do this. Personally, I would say computers laptops have come a long way since 2009 when your was carried out and for about $500, you can get good news. I can't really predict exactly what laptop model will suffer no problems on the road. In General, if you want more reliability then think on one of the business models, but you look at closer to $1,000 for one of those.

  Go to power options. On the left side, click on choose what the power button. Scroll down and uncheck quick start. Save changes and close.
