  My 792 P10 is not equipped with Wireless Lan Mini-PCI card and it doen't have the on / off wireless switch, but it is possible to add a mini-pci wireless card.

  I installed the Intel 2200BG mini-pci wireless card. The drivers are installed in windows and linux correcltly.

  When I am using Intel wireless tool to set up my wireless card, I get the error message:
  Locking wireless must be turned off and the same error under linux when I am loading the module appropriate.

  I tryied to disable wirelless lock using Fn + F8 and all the other function keys, but nothing happened.

  How can I unlock Wireless Lan?

  The components of the page on my 1007TX dv6 recently stopped working.  Therefore, I am unable to connect to a wireless network or adjust the volume via the component from the top of the page, only via the volume control software.

  This can sometimes be caused by a buildup of static electricity.  Stop the laptop, remove the AC adapter and then remove the battery.  Now, press and hold the button of power for a good 30 seconds.  Reinsert the battery, plug in the power adapter and start the laptop to see if it contributed to the issue.

  The file you mention belongs to Canon Digital software, you may need to uninstall this software, restart the computer and then reinstall it (or if there is a version made software updates, install this).

  I was puzzled by that initially as well.  So I decided to read the instructions and found that there is a small USB transmitter/receiver inside the mouse battery compartment.  What explains that the cover is of irregular shape for a single battery.

  Yes, the hard drive is so dead, that he not yet register as a hard drive. The dv6-1000 series certainly uses SATA, not ATA drives so I'm not sure of what you see. You can replace it with any drive SATA 2.5 inch width 9.5 mm thick.

  I checked, and as a suspect, HP stock is no longer the recovery media for your PC.

  So, you will need to check other sites I mentioned to see if they have a recovery media.

  Models dv2000, dv6000 and dv9000 was riddled with problems of overheating motherboard and it from what you described, the video chip can have released, which is one of the symptoms they had.

  I stumbled upon your post on the laptop and wanted to help you! I looked in your question about your HP Pavilion Entertainment Notebook dv6-3121nr and issues with start/restart problem after downloading the software.

  Here is a link to put the laptop in Safe Mode. From there, you can uninstall the software that is causing this closure.

  If that doesn't help, you could return in safe mode and then you can do a System Restore. System Restore will help if something is automatically updated and do not go well on the Notebook.You may need to consider a day before the software has been downloaded and the question that's happened.
