Pavillion G6-1240SA: pavillion g6 windows 7 damaged OS
Help, please... My laptop HARD drive has been damaged recently that destroyed my recovery partition. I tried to reinstall Windows 8, but only an update to my original Windows 7 Home Premium, I am unable to install it.
Where can I download an iso image of Windows 7, I still have my license key but the Microsoft site, I cannot download the image of W7, where can I get it from?

Pavillion g6 Windows restarts within one minute of being connected to a network
My Pavillion laptop g6 works fine until I connect it to a network. Wired or wireless network does not matter, within 60 seconds of connection Windows 7 "Disconnect" screen comes up and restarted the laptop. I have the standard wired (Realtek) and (?) wireless adapters. I have updated to the latest wired adapter Realtek website drivers but still have the same question. I ran a full virus scan, a comprehensive analysis of Malwarebytes and chkdsk but no junk or errors are detected.
HP startup says the HARD drive is failing and I bought a HARD drive replacement, I'm about to clone, but I have my doubts, that it is the first cause, because the reboot happens only when the network connection is established. If I leave it disconnected it works fine, and the HARD drive took hours of scanning and chkdsk with no sign of distress. I'll be really unhappy if I put the new drive in and against HAV ETHE same problem.
Any suggestions on what else to try cloning front and replace the HARD drive?
It turns out that my laptop picked up the rootkit Pihar, Boot.Pihar.MBR to be precise. I used the beta rootkit hunter/destroyer of Malwarebytes, but who took care of the problem. Happy to have solved the problem, hope this helps someone else someday!

Pavilion Slimline: Printer and Webcam not working only not with Pavillion Slimline, Windows 8
I'm writing to a friend... None of us is particularly in computer science.
Recently, his computer had to be replaced; so, she bought a used HP Pavilion Slimline, 400-034 PC with Windows 8 OS (not sure that all the operating system to 64-bit... just guessing). The PC seems to work very well; However, with its previous system she used a printer (HP 7410 All in One) and a webcam (HP-HD-HD3110 & HD 3100). She can't get either auxiliary to work devices. Can anyone tell me if these components are compatible and that, if so, wherever it can access drivers or other software that may be required.
Also, would you recommend that she has first upgrade to Windows 10?

A Windows 8 driver must be installed to use the printer on the new PC.
You can either upgrade to Windows 10 or not, the printer is compatible with both operating systems and it is a matter of personal preference...
For 7410 printers, drivers can be downloaded from the following link:
Note: If the printer is connected to a USB port, unpulg the cable from your PC now.
In the devices Panel and printers and select remove device for the icon of the printer before installing the software.
Regarding the HP Webcam, I'm afraid that it's incompatible with Windwos 8.1 or Windows 10, it is only supported on Widnows 7 or earlier operating systems:

You try to install the drivers for Windows 7 by using Compatibility Mode (download the file to your computer, right click and select Troubleshoot Compatibility and then follow the steps on the screen) but it has never tested on Windows 8 or 10 and if it works not you replace the webcam with a model more late which is compatible with the operating system.

Pavillion DFV6: Windows 7 do not restore from DVD hp when you are almost finished.

Lack of HP Recovery Manager of HP Pavillion running Windows 8.1

Just got a new HP Pavilion running Windows 8.1 early upward (not updated by me).
I am trying to create system recovery using HP Recovery Manager disks, but it is not on the system.
I used the search function of Windows 8, but the program does not appear.
Any advice would be welcome.

Then, after much hassle and I mean DAYS going from one place to another to return to windows 7, I downloaded the "Magic jellybean" sahow me how to find the "product key" to go back to 7. You see, in 2013 or 2014, that I went to Missouri to help a friend who could undergo surgery. I bought this laptop in a pawn shop (Tiger pawn in Columbia, Missouri). It did not come with an installation cd. I already have t PROVIDED with Windows 7 on the laptop. When I tried to go back to Windows 7 from windows 10, and received the product of the drive key, well, when I entered on the screen provided, he says that the key is incorrect. I went cross-eyed trying to verify the accuracy of what I entered a second time. I called Microsoft who directed me to HP. HP said that this loaptop was conducted in Iran, according to me, he said. Windows Vista (damaged) iTunes library
I have a PC with Windows Vista. My iTunes has about 8000 songs in my library. Most have been burned CDs, mp3 Youtube and a few itunes purchases.
About 3500 are grouped into playlists. Only my playlists are synced to an iPod classic.
I think that this old PC can be buggy and two nights ago, there was a question C: drive which
the "repaired" computer itself - took a few hours...
Today, I burned a few songs from the CD to add to my itunes library.
Now these two CD accounts for almost my entire library - I can also find a few old Itunes purchases
in the iTunes library. But 95% of the library is "gone".
There is a folder called Itunes library (damaged) which has 2.5 MB. I suspect that this is my previous library and playlists.
I can't get it open.

The song files are probably still stored on your computer. The "damage" was to your file to iTunes (the one marked as "damaged") library database. The iTunes Library.itl file is what keeps track of songs (and other media) in your iTunes library and where their media files are stored. If it is damaged, iTunes creates a new (empty) iTunes library database file. Real media files are not in the iTunes library file, they are stored elsewhere.

NOTE: If there are general data corruption, it may have also affected some of your media files (not only your iTunes library database file).
The default location (for your iTunes media files) is account user music (or music), and then in the iTunes folder in your folder. Using Windows Explorer, to see if you have a folder called iTunes Media to this place (it can be called iTunes Music). If you do, look inside to find your song files, organized by media type, then artist name and album name. If you use default iTunes, songs that you imported to CD via iTunes should be there. Songs purchased from iTunes Store should be at this place. The song files added from an external source (not directly imported from CD or iTunes Store) may or may not be stored at this location.

When you find your music files, copy them to a disk of a certain type. On the new computer, run iTunes. Go to the Advanced iTunes preferences pane. There is a setting here to copy files to the iTunes folder when adding to Library Media. I think that the option is not checked by default for Windows, but you should check in your case. The other setting to keep iTunes Media folder organized must also be checked, if it isn't already.
Show your music library in the iTunes window. In the external drive with your song files, drag the song files or folders containing music files to the iTunes window and the drop. iTunes adds all the compatible media files it finds in your new iTunes library. Alternatively, instead of drag and drop, you can use the Add to library iTunes command in menu bar, under file.
NOTE: This adds only your old media files to a new iTunes library. Data such as playlists, ratings, number of coin, date added, etc are not transferred. If you want to retrieve these data support, you can get it back on the old PC. Please report if you want to try to do, instead of just transfer your media files to the new PC.

I was trying to stop some HP programs to start when I start my desktop computer. I did the following: start > run > msconfig. Click on startup and unchecked HP four applications. Restarted my desktop computer and immediately had a black screen with the following message:

system32\hal.dll Please reinstall a copy of the above file
I can't do anything in Safe Mode or one of the other options. Cannot re - install Windows XP Home Edition because Windows or Internet Explorer 8 will not run. Only the black screen and the message mentioned above.
I use a desktop Dell Dimension 8400 computer.

In fact, there is something else you may need to do: it turns out that KB2607712 is replaced by the KB2616676 in Vista & Win7; Windows XP needs to have both installed [despite the mention you referred in your post on September 14, above] !!!

2. after VALIDATION, download the installer for KB2607712 & save it to your desktop - NOT run again!
3. close all open applications (that is, anything with an icon on the taskbar).
4. double-click on the file that you saved in #2 above to install the update. Follow all the instructions (reboot required).
5. check that the Update for Windows XP (KB2607712) is now listed in Add/Remove programs.

Windows Installer damaged, needs to be repaired
Cannot remove programs in the control panel. Message says: "the Windows Installer Service could not be accessed. This can occur if Windows Installer is not installed properly. Contact your support team. "With Vista 32 bit. Cannot download Windows Installer: 3.1 is too old, 4.5 gives the error message saying that it is not for my system. I really need an expert on this one!
I had OS X El Capitan and Windows 10 (bootcamp) installed on my MacBook Pro.
Today, I tried to boot Windows and a screen pops up saying that it was unable to start, so I used the installation disk windows 10 to "solve startup problems. After he supposed to solve problems. I can't start on OS X or Windows.
When I start and press "Alt" shows than OS X, but when I select it, the screen goes black and nothing happens, not even Apple logo (tried to start Safe Mode, reset the PRAM and nothing fixed).
I started with an OS X USB install and open disk utility, and now instead of two partitions with Macintosh HD and BOOTCAMP, it only shows "Untitled."

Try to reinstall your OS in disk utility and erase "Untitled" and then by installing an operating system on the cover page of the recovery/install disk back.

There is no legal Vista download more.
But you can borrow and use a Microsoft Vista DVD, which contains the files for the different editions of Vista (Home Basic, Home Premium, Business and Ultimate) must be installed. The product key on your computer / Laptop box determines what Edition is installed.
Other manufacturers recovery DVDs are should not be used for this purpose.
And you need to know the version of 'bit' for Vista, as 32-bit and 64-bit editions come on different DVDs
