Tecra S3: Installation of Vista does not recognize the HARD drive
I try to install Vista Ultimate on my Tecra S3, but installation does not recognize the HARD drive.
I tried to find the driver for Vista for my computer, but not found RAID.
Tried it with XP drivers, but no longer works.Do you have an idea where I can download Vista drivers for RAID?
THX
Hello
Your suggestion is good. The Tecra S3 supports the RAID, and the RAID driver is required to install the OS on the HARD drive.
On the European driver Toshiba page I found a RAID for XP driver.I put t know if this driver will run under Vista, but I recommend to test.
The RAID XP 1.3.8.0 driver version can be downloaded from this site:
http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/cgi-bin/ToshibaCSG/download_drivers_bios.jsp?service=EUPlease note; You can store the RAID driver on an external USB and Vista should recognize it!
Good luck

I'm afraid that I have not nLite the right drivers.
Is there anyone Heve downgraded this model?
ThanxHello
Maybe you did not use good SATA driver? :| Who knows
The point is that there are two different versions of Intel Matrix Storage Manager supports different chipsets.
I put t know what chipset is in charge of your laptop but you should check this and must also check the description of the Intel Storage Manager and check what chipsets are supported. In addition, you should have a look here in this doc from Toshiba:

Qosmio F30 - 112 - Windows XP does not recognize the HARD drive
Hello.
I have a Qosmio F30-112.
I tried to install the Windows XP Professional instead of the Media Center edition.
However, during the execution of the installer, my laptop does not recognize the hard drive. Therefore, the installation cannot continue.I thought it might be a problem of corruption with my laptop and reinstalled Media Center Edition successfully.
But when I try to install XP Professional it always gives me the same error.Suggestions for the configuration of the BIOS or solutions for why this is happening?
Thanks in advance.
Hello
Just a question:
You are looking for in this forum for other similar issues with regard to the installation of Win XP and lack HARD drive? I doubtThe fact is that your notebook has a SATA controller and you need a SATA (Intel Matrix Storage Manager) driver.
You should have a look here in this doc from Toshiba:
[How to integrate a SATA AHCI driver into a Windows XP installation CD | http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/TSB85017Z0000R01.htm]and should also search this forum for other threads

Satellite A30 PSA30E - BIOS does not recognize the HARD drive
Hi all
I have a Satellite A30 (PSA30E) and I start the computer. When I enter the BIOS it does not recognize the hard drive.
Does anyone no what I can do?
Is it possible to restore the BIOS?Thank you
Hello
You replaced the HARD drive by a new one or the BIOS don't recognize the old HDD?
Usually if the laptop is not able to start and that the BIOS does not see the old HDD then I guess that the HARD drive is faulty.
If the BIOS doesn't recognize the inserted new HARD drive and then either you ve bought is not compatible, or the size of the HARD drive is just too big. Please provide more info. You see error messages?

Lost in car-Windows xp does not recognize the slave drive
I do reinstall xp home, no problem when I did the system does not recognize the slave drive I have. As far as I can tell that it's all hooked up correctly. When I go into disk management it does not recognize the drive either. All of the suggestions.
Hi james.williams,
- How is the drive connected to the computer?
- What is the number of the brand and model of the player?
I suggest that you check the jumper settings and make sure that the jumpers are correctly positioned.
Make sure they are in the two master/slave jumper and not cable select.

I recently bought a computer Dell 4700 to a friend with Windows XP installed. I've updated the memory to 2 GB and now seeks to install a WD10EARS 1 TB harddrive. The new works of fine memory is not the hard drive. My system does not recognize the new drive. I contacted WD for help and they told me to try diferent rider combinations that were Jumper 1-2 and 5-6, still does not work, I checked the hardware compatibility list and he said he would start uo without modification. This isn't. I would be very greatlyful for any suggestions, to HELP!
I've had several people tried to help me solve my problem. They were all, I thought, more than I am computer savvy. As time progressed, solutions became more complex. After they all left without resolution I thought and it appeared to me that the simplest solution might be correct. One person had checked. I turned on the computer and when the Dell logo came I pushed the F12 key to open the Dell configuration screen. The drive on which the new drive has been installed has NOT been activated! Duh! I activated the he and the program Acronis recognized and everything went like clockwork after that. Phew! What relief! Thank you for your comments I am just glad that my problem it doesn't require resolution. Are Mod

Hello
Step 1: Please do all the same underneath if you did some before as is often total
a process that solves the problem.Try this - Panel - Device Manager - CD/DVD - double click on the device - driver tab.
Click on update drivers (this will probably do nothing) - RIGHT click ON the drive - uninstall.

NSLU2 does not recognize the hard drive
Hello
I have a NSLU2 on Win XP SP3.
It does not recognize the USB drives, he wrote that 'drive not formatted '. It only recognizes the USB key as "disk2".
Current firmware is V2.3R29.
When I try to update the firmware, the "not enough disk space" message.
I tried the same disc on a different NSLU2 and it worked fine.
What can I do my NSLU2 reading displays the disc correctly?
Thank you very much for your help!
Markus
It seems to be a firmware issue... The V2.3R29 firmware. is quite old. The latest firmware is Ver.2.3R63... Hard reset the NSLU2, power cycle it and then try to update the firmware. After upgrading the firmware, reset it again and reconfigure... Disconnect the HARD drive before upgrading.

Windows does not recognize the DVD drive at startup
Laptop: Dell E6410 ATG wt / verzion A15 Bios
OS: Windows 7 SP1 with the latest updates.
The question I have is when I log on Windows 7, the laptop does not recognize the DVD drive. The reader will not be displayed in my computer or Device Manager. I can get around this physically ejecting the disc and reinsert. If I do this drive appears in my computer Windows and Device Manager. It will read DVDs and CDs fine. I am able to reproduce the problem above mentioned question if I restart the laptop. If I restart the laptop the DVD drive won't be recognized and reinsert the drive will get it appears again.
This problem occurs if I try a DVD - RW drive and an old DVD - ROM drive. If I go into the BIOS before windows, I can see the BIOS recognizing drives ok but not when initially get into Windows without having to eject and inserting the disc.
Thanks in advance for any help.
I guess that this must be a hardware problem then.
Seems odd.
The only other thing I can think of, after reinstalling W7, is a BIOS problem eventually. A strange setting it may be an older version of BIOS with a bug in it. If you decide to update the bios, make sure that you get the latest version for your make and model PC and follow the instructions. You can destroy a PC with bad BIOS or update the procedure.

My computer windows 8 HP Pavillion M8100n does not recognize the DVD drive or the SD card reader. I have just upgraded to Windows 8 of Window Vista. Do you have any suggestions?
Hello
I see nothing unusual, except that there should be a "0001", or even "0002"...
When you have made the registry change, you used the command line (Admin)?... the process may not work with the regular command prompt...
Also, try to go to Device Manager, right click on your DVD drive, click on uninstall and restart.

Install Windows 8 does not recognize the system drive
I built a new machine (chart below). Since this is a new machine and not an upgrade, I bought Win 8 Pro 64 bit OEM to do a clean install. The SSD is my system disk that Windows 8 will be installed. Four data drives are mirrored, two for the other two. Construction went perfectly. The BIOS recognizes all six disks: 1 SSD, 4 HDD, 1 DVD.
Insert and boot the disk of Windows 8. Accept the EULA, enter the product key. Arriving at the page "Where do you want to install Windows?", only four hard disks are listed. The SSD (installation to go) is not found by Win 8. ??? I tried to change ports SATA, cables, power supply - no difference. For each new change of hardware, the BIOS still sees everything. This isn't a hardware problem.
The question remains: why the installation of Windows 8 does not recognize the SSD drive. All five disks are on AHCI. I'm not in RAID.
I spoke with crucial technical support of all (manufacturer of the SSD). They were also surprised that the drive does not appear in the list.
Does anyone have a solution? I spent all the money on hardware, as well as the new version of Windows and I cannot install it.
This is the real kick in the teeth: Microsoft won't support me. The OEM of Windows 8 version is the same as manufacturers, such as Dell or HP. Support told me I had the support of the manufacturer. HA! I am the manufacturer. Either that or upgrade from an earlier version of Windows. This means that any that a new construction machine will get ZERO assumption of Microsoft. All just great.
Thank you in advance for any assistance.

Hello
Please reinsert the drive from the rear panel and check if the device detects the drive hard in case you have the same problem, then the hard drive is bad, you need to replace the hard drive and reinstall the operating system on the unit to return to its operating state.

Dell Inspiron 531 s problem of power/does not recognize the hard drive
My Office does not illuminate. I replaced the power supply. No, it powers on but does not recognize the hard drive. It gives an error as SATA 0 None SATA 1 no SATA 2 No. How do we know that the cables are properly connected. I feel like I'm very close to solving the problem but don't have a clue what that next step to follow
The original PSU had 4 sets of cables and connectors. The new power supply has 5 sets of son.

From your post, I guess that the configuration of the system now recognizes the hard drive?
If you do not have a floppy drive, then BIOS can find the player who isn't there, it returns this error.
Make sure that the floppy drive [drive A] is disabled in the [BIOS] installation system, page 173, so that it is no longer looking for the disc and see if this stops the error message.
If the hard drive is recognized in the configuration of the system, he now knows in windows "My computer" or in "disk management, [right click on 'My computer' and select 'Manage', then disk management]."
