PCI 6221 analog input impedance?

Hello

I have a card PCI-6221, I know the impedance of an analogic imput?

Thank you.

Hello

As shown here, when the device is turned on, more than 10GOhm in parallel with 100pF

  • How to detect the relay ON / OFF state with PCI 6221 analog input card

In order to test if a relay is ON / OFF using my card PCI 6221 DAQ devices and ports of HAVE it.  I conect of the relay contacts to an AO giving 5 v and the other contact to an AI in order to detect the corrent.  In addition to a bridge is necessary to close the circuit betweeb the AO and AI.

Shoud this bridge conect the MASS of two ports?

    The plan is: relay - AO (5 v) - AO GND - GND AI - AI0 -.

This does not work and gives a continuous corrent to 10 V (I think it is a saturated)

    Hint, please?

    The simplest connection is:

    • One side of the relay contact: + 5V PCI 6221

    • Other side of the relay contact: all DI PCI - 6221

But I would add a DI (for example 10 k) resistance to GND of the PCI 6221. This will outline the entrance to GND when the relay contact is open.

  • NI USB - 6212 BNC analog input impedance matching

I just ordered a case NOR USB - 6212 BNC DAQ (should be delivered soon). I want to use to measure HV signals using a probe of high voltage of 1/1000 I have.

Now, datasheet of the probe (not a lot of info) says it has an impedance imput 100MOhm. I suppose that it consists of a simple resisitve divider, and if the ratio is 1/1000, I wait so to have a 99.9MOhm resistance in series with a 0.1MOhm resistance. However, the data sheet also specify that the probe is designed to be connected to an oscilloscope with an impedance of 1MOhm. As this input impedance is very low compared to the low value of the separator of resistance resistance, so I guess that the real resistance at the level of the sensor values 99.9MOhm and 0.11MOhm (to obtain the 0.99 and 0.1MOhm when it is connected to the oscilloscope for 1mW).

Therefore, given that the impedance of the USB-6212 according to the datasheet, the analog input is > 10GOhm, I expect to measure higher to true alternative voltages when connected to the acquisition of data from 10%. This assumption has a meaning?

What would be the best way to get around this? Do a calibration and correct the values acquired in LabVIEW code? Or should I add precision 1MOhm resistance at the same time to the acquisition of input data to decrease its resistance to entry to the value expected by the probe?

    Thanks for your help!

    You are not alone

Since you have a range of 1000: 1 I guess you also need bandwidth (I have a TEK 6015 A ), so you need based on the impedance input, a complex value, means he must not only watch but also the ability to input resistance (1 M).  demarcation of the field probes have usually some elements of toppings to match the probe and the input scope. RTFM of the help of the probe

BUT a more serious point is that with your probe, you have a very high resistance.  And if you look in the specification of the 6212 you will find on page 2 by mistake ppm in logarithmic scale graph!  and even 100 k source impedance it not shown.

So I'm afraid that a simple 1 M on the DAQ entry can work if you're only measuring DC, and only if you use a channel on the acquisition of data.  A workaround is an amplifier separate buffer with an impedance of good entry corresponding to the specification of your probe and a low output impedance.

  • The PCI-6132 analog inputs does not

    Hello

I have problems to install a PCI-6132 card on one of my computers. I am runing Labview 7.1 and DAQmx 8.6. In MAX, I opened the unit and test panels. The counters are working fine however the analog inputs always give v - 10 (-5 If the a - 5 min) without noise. the same on each channel. I have not connected any termianls and expect to see the noise around zero volts. In addition, the card fails the error calibration auto-200545.

I took an another PCI-6132 of a system works in this computer and had the same problem. So I guess the problem is the configuration of the computer or software. I try to reinstall the DAQmx and labview and the problem has not been corrected.

  • What is the analog input of the NI PCI-6229 impedance?

I am trying to determine the effect of a 12 K resistor that is in series with an analog input of an NI PCI-6229 data acquisition card.  Resistance of 12K seems to be part of a RC filter.  I have a 0-10 VDC source this supply circuit.  What is the impedance of the analog input of the NI PCI-6229 data acquisition card?  If it makes any difference, the analog input is connected in differential mode with a 180K resistor to Gnd AI.

    Thank you

    RWB

    Hi, RWB,.

The input impedance is classified in the specifications 10 GOhm.  So, the effect of your k 12 resistance should be relatively low.  Take care!

  • Question related to the entrance with pci 6221 and SCC 68 analog

I use 6221 PCI and SCC 68 analog read of voltage between the terminals of the drain and the source of a transistor. The drain is at 0 Volt and source is connected to 5 volts via a 100 k resistor. The transistor is used as a follower of the source, and therefore the output is measured at the source of the Terminal. When I measure the voltage by using oscilloscope, I see clearly the change of output as a result of change of voltage of the door. But, when I try to acquire the same by using labview, I see nothing. I tried to change the signal to the CSR, NRSE, but nothing works. Seems to be that something related to differences in impedance. Can you please advice me on this issue? Thanks in advance

    Hi rsd111,

I understand that you measure a circuit similar to this ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Common_drain)

I also get that you use an external power supply with GND connected to the Drain and - 5V connected to the Source with a 100 k resistor.

You should be able to measure the tension between D and S setup a differential measurement and connection Ai0 + D and Ai0 - s, in fact you can youse Ain you prefer.

You should be able to do the same measure also at configuration NRSE linking Ai0 AiSense at the Source and drain.

The Board's input impedance is greater than 10GOhm, it must behave as the oscilloscope in pairing mode high-impedance DC.

  • analog calibration on PCI-6221

I don't get the volts per bit, I expect my Board of PCI-6221.

I run the "Test Panel" available in v.4.3 Measurment & Automation Explorer.  I have a NOR-6221 multifunction with an installed interface BNC-2090 case.  When I run the "analog input" test, with entries dfferential and connected to ai8 ai0, I expect to 0 volt. The input values, the min max run defaults to-10 V + 10 V.  The graph shows zero + - 1 to 2 bits of noise.  See screenshot. The reported real amplitudes are + 0.000468, + 0.000144, - 0.000180, - 0.000504.  This corresponds to 0.000324 V/bit.  I expect to 20V / (2 ^ 16 bits) = 20V/65536 bits = V/bit 0.000360.  How to explain that gap of 10%? Thank you.

    Bill

    Hey Bill,.

I could see a few things: with the M series, realize that the data returned by the ADC are not linear, so that V/bit varies over the range of the acquisition. Mcal allows us to correct the non linearity. Which may explain the discrepancy just here. Also note that the range is actually greater large - to make cal the range desired, some codes are outside the range of V 10 - generally of 5%. However this would actually push the V/bit upward. This is mentioned in the M-series user manual in the section of the analog input range . All this is taken into account absolute accuracy specifications so that they are still valid.

Finally, when I calculate 20/65536 I obtiens.0003052 - which, once I multiplied by 1.05 gives moi.0003204, which looks a lot better. You may have swapped the 6 and 5, or the Windows calculator is fibbing to me once again

So this brings me to my question - you notice the difference just theoretical vs measured and I was wondering what is happening, or you plan the use of this info? If you are looking to read binary (a common practice results in questions like yours), take a look at this KB when you get to the scale of calibrated data-

  • I have a PCI-6221 NIC connected to a block of connection TBX-68. How can I see the wiring for the analog channels with MAX?

    Hi all

I have a PCI-6221 NIC connected to a block of connection TBX-68. Once I found a drawing that shows me all the connections on my block of connection for each analog input tasks. I don't see this option now. Can someone describe to me how I can find this new?

  • Need help on the use of the PCI-6221 and c# to control three digital Port and an analog of entry

I need to send the digital output at three ports and then read an analog input voltage using the analog card PCI-6221.

I did a c# program to fight against it. I built four tasks altogether. Three tasks for three digital output ports and a single task for analog input.

How can I reduce the time?

Using my method, to 3.3ms in total. And it's slow.

I can build one task for three ports?

What is the best way to the control task to reduce the time of communication with the PC?

Is that possible to save a lot of analog reading entry in the memory of the DAQ hardware and then read it all together from the computer in order to reduce time consumption?

    1 million thanks!

    Hello

    Hi Jin,

To answer your questions, Yes, you are able to configure a task of digital output to use three output ports and PCI-6221 has a buffer of memory FIFO aboard 4095 samples.

I would like to direct you to the example of NOR-DAQmx for c# files located in the following location on your computer

    C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Documents\National Instruments\NI-DAQ\Examples\DotNET2.0

Here, you will find predefined examples in c# that should give you a good idea of how to go about architecting your code to achieve the results you need.

There is also a useful help file which you will find by navigating to Start > all programs > National Instruments > NOR-DAQ > help of NOR-DAQmx .NET Framework 2.0

I hope that this answer is useful.

  • Problem with a precision of analog input on PCI-6111

    Hello

I'm reading an analogue signal which varies from 0-11 V using a card of acquisition data PCI-6111.  The signal comes from a Tube set (PMT) which is part of a microscope configuration, so it is very important that the resolution of the analog input signal be as wide as possible generate quality images.  According to the data sheet for the PCI-6111, the analog input resolution is 12 bits, which should correspond to a sensitivity of ~2.686 mV for my voltage range.

To test this, I set up a task to analog input with a 0-11 V voltage range to read samples of an analog output, which I wrote a simple waveform.  Since the 16-bit analog output resolution that I assumed that it would not limit the accuracy of this measurement.  I have attached the VI I used for this measurement below.  The analog input data are saved not truncated in a text file.

Analyzing these data, I found that the real input sensitivity is ~9.766 mV, corresponding to levels of voltage exactly 1126,4 and ~ 10 bits.

Is there a reason why the resolution of analog input is much lower that it is indicated on the card?  What are some of the ways I could improve the sensitivity of this measure?

    Best,

    Keith

Sorry, when you mentioned the specs, I thought you already had them. If this did not come with your Board of Directors?

  • The drift in analog of the PCI-6221

    Hello

The VI described below makes the measurement of three analog channels. Then it calculates (if - then)/ So B,

    where TR = Ai2 Ai1/channel channel

    and Bi = channel Ai0

When TR = therefore, the average reading should be zero, but in fact what I get is the behavior showed in the chart below.

    I use PCI 6221, BNC-2110 and LabVIEW 7.1.

This may be the cause of this drift? Could you help me fix this problem?

    Thank you

    Marcelo.

You see on a derivative of uV ~ 40 on the map ±10V range?

It would be nice in the care of the accuracy of the 6221.  However, it sounds like the drift occurs over time.  If you leave it plugged in long enough tensions continue to drift or they stabilize?

It could very well be that the battery voltage is what is adrift.  However, if you add help polarization resistors so it is possible for you to accumulate small amounts of load on CDA - what values of resistance have you tried?  You can also consider CSR and connect the terminals of the battery (-) ground HAVE common to avoid having to use polarization resistors.

  • I use an analog input on a PCI-6224 and are having problems with the clock source

I use an analog input on a PCI-6224 and are having problems with the clock source. I'm trying samples of 16 different analog inputs very quickly. I have the sample mode: Timed Single Point material. The rate, that I am running is the maximum (250 kHz (15625Hz per channel)). I left the default clock source and trying to taste several times. The analogue input works for a short time (2-3 seconds) and then everything stops. I'm doing something wrong or is there something I'm missing? Any advice would be great.

That's how you samples using the sample clock clock. If you see a delay then something is wrong with how you track/data visualization.

Single point NI the hardware is for PID control with a real-time operating system.

  • Test the analog inputs in a PCI-6013

Hello. I m using a PCI-6013 OR DAQmx 9.1.1 with Labview 8.2 (sued) WinXP. The jury has undergone an immersion in water during a flood but was cleaned, recognized by WinXP and NIDAQmx.

I have run the Measurement & Automation explore and use the test under option OR-6013 'Dev1' panels 'devices and Interfaces. Here, I can see that the digital and clock output work perfectly (I can change the State of the digital channels and duty cycle and frequency of the clock). The problem arises when you try to measure an analog voltage. I tried on several cases not all analog channels using NRSE and differential modes (switch accordingly connections).

The signal comes from a (4 Hz, squares and sines, 5Vpp) signal generator via a CB-68LPR connector.

I only see something comparable to the entrance of singal when you use differential inputs (signal connected by J57 and J23) AI7, but the signal I see comes with 100 mVpp instead of 5 Vpp (I can see changes in the shape, every time that I have spend of a sine, square, ramp...). I also tried connecting J23 AISENSE (J62) and AIGND (J67), to avoid the problems of floating source. The same thing happens when enter and set up the acquisition by the vicinity of data in the Explorer of Measurement & Automation. I m using the reach of the signal in the different ranges, tried with 04:55, -1 to + 1, 09:50... When you configure tasks NIDAQmx I choose to read different samples (100, 1000, 10000) rate (100 Hz, 1 kHz,...) and combinations. Anyway, the input signal is always 4 Hz. I checked the signal with an osciloscope and I see it perfectly.

Is it possible to have the broken while the digital and general-purpose analog input clock outputs are OK? Y at - it a tip for the connections I should know about? Thanks in advance for any guidance!

Thank you both, KateB and MarisolM for your answers.

I made several the tests con señales DC y con señales senoidales, instalando placa en back different computers, y no obtengo resultados positivos, is spite of what el self-test selling well. Seems that the Plaça realmente esta fallando.

I did several tests with DC signals and senoidal, installing the card in two different computers, without positive results, even if the self-test is OK. It seems that the Council really works hard.

  • Synchronize the clocks of 2 PCI cards for analog inputs with e/s digital reference

I'm trying to synchronize the clocks of reference of 2 PCI cards so that the analog inputs are synchronized. However, my appilcation has also digtial e/s on two cards, and who apparently made the mistake DAQmxErrorResourcesInUseForRoute_Routing. This discussion describes a similar problem, but the solution was to just put the reference clock to the slave device, who had no other tasks running on it, so what mine does.

Is there way I can synchronize the clocks of refernce without interfering with the digital I/o?

    Thank you!

PS: My application is in C++.

The reference clock is really a lower-level component that is shared by all resources on a given device.  All tasks on a given device must use the same reference clock.  So if you use DAQmxSetRefClkSrc for a task, you can use it to set the same value for your other tasks.

  • analog input PCI-6251, implemented

    Hi all

Can I set the analog inputs of the PCI-6251 in configuration of mix (some in differential mode) and others in single ended mode. Because in my set up the differential option is grayed out.

    Thank you

    dphan128

Yes, you should be able to do. You have 16 analog inputs. Differential, you will use two of them per channel. See the manual of series DAQ M. you can program channels on a M Series device to acquire with different

reference to the ground. To allow m

ultimode sweep in LabVIEW, use OR-DAQmx create

Virtual channel.VI of the API OR-DAQmx. You must use a new VI for

each channel or group of channels configured in another mode of entry.

Don't forget that for a premium that you would for example wire HAVE 0 to the + side and AI 8 - side. So now you can not use the AI 8 for simple nerve. HAVE 1 corresponds to the AI 9 etc. until 7 AM, GOT 16.

    I hope this helps.
