PCI input range of NOR

Dear Sir

I read in user mannual of NI PCI-6281, that he has paid minimum entry-100 mv to 100 mv. So if I select this range reslution will be 0.2/262144 = - 122 dB. Now if I have to measure the signal of-160 dB then how can I measure?

I read somewhere that NI PCI has gain adjustable fromm 1 to 10000 and by adjusting that win, I could measure the signal-160 dB. Can you please guide me where I can date the gain? I check in the DAQ Assistant, but did not.

Thank you.

The gain is set automatically when you specify the minimum and maximum. The range of your card is found in the specifications. A different device might have a lower minimum range but to suggest that the ICP has in general a lower range is all just ridiculous. Everything you read 'somewhere' should refer to another card. If you need a higher resolution, you need a different device.

  • R series analog input range

    Hi all

I'm starting my first app using a card of RIO for the analog input and power (two PCI-7833).

My previous experience with DAQ systems was on PC so I'm especially familiar with DAQmx. It is my understanding that DAQmx is not really being used on these boards, there is no DAQmx tasks to play with.

So, my question is this: How can I dynamically set the range of the signal of the analog inputs so that I get the best possible resolution?

What I want to say in DAQmx if I know that the input signal is only 1 V pk to pk I can put this beforehand in the task.

    Thank you!

OK, a little further digging shows the input range is set to +/-10V, is this correct?

  • Maximum latency to read/write for PCI-DIO-32HS with NOR-DAQmx?

I was asked to evaluate using the PCI-DIO-32HS and NOR-DAQmx on MacOS X to essentially close a control loop.  My first concern is whether or not it can run fast enough.

So my questions are: what is the maximum latency from the moment of receiving a signal strobe reading data from external hardware, then read a single 16-bit sample and sending it upward by NOR-DAQ to a user space application?  And, similarly, what is the maximum latency of sending a unique 16-bit value from a space application user down through NOR-DAQ, then write a port and affirming a strobe signal of external-data writing material?

    Thank you.

    Hi AliasMe,

Thanks for posting and welcome to the Forums EITHER!

Do you need to process the data in the software and generate a value on this basis?  DIO-32HS (alias PCI-6533) offers in the buffer of inputs and outputs, but you'd have a latency in your control system relying on the OS to do treatment.  Since this period is dependent on the system, I can't give a specification for the amount of time it would take.  However, integrating data in memory, processing and writing back to the card would likely be on the order of several milliseconds.

Generally, we recommend FPGA in situations of control like this, so you can do all the processing in hardware.  However, if provide you more details on your request we can look into all the options available.

  • How to change the input range (DAQ assistant) with a digital command?

    Hello everyone

I am currently working with the NI USB-6218 acquisition card.

In order to acquire a signal, I would like to be able to choose the input range of the DAQ with a digital command Wizard (and not opening the window of DAQ assistant) (as 'number of sample' and section 'rate'...)

Is this possible and if so, how?

Thank you very much in advance for your answers!

You can't with the DAQ Assistant so just click on and select "generate the Code of OR-DAQmx. You can edit the Subvi who performs the installation.

  • Change the height of an Input Range Slider (Skinning)?

Is it possible to change the displayed height of an Input Range Slider? Not the height of the item itself, but the actual bar.

I found the list of different skin options on the [ADF Rich Client Demo site | http://jdevadf.oracle.com/adf-richclient-demo/faces/components/skinningKeys/inputRangeSlider.jspx], but I couldn't not (explicitly) an option to specify the height.

  • PCIe-634 x independent analog input ranges

I have a PCIe-6343 and I want to be able to power different ranges on different channels of entry at the same time, more precisely with the customer is able to select ranges for each channel when necessary.  Ideally I want to I could have HERE with-10 0 - 10, AI 1 to 04:55, AI 2 with-1 to 1 and AI 3 with - to 0.250 0.250.  Anyone know if this is possible?  I tried to put a table for the minimum and maximum values, and it did not work.

The only active channels are the ones you decide to put in the array. The only beaches that are enabled are the ones you decide to place in their bays. How you decide to complete the paintings belongs to you. I suggest a front screen where you are able to select one channel and the beach, then click to add to a list.

  • NI 9215 input range

Small question.  When I select the range from 0 to 10 VDC on vi Daqmx "Create Virtual Channel" while using a NI 9215 have I actually did my entry of voltage of 16 bits in a voltage of 8-bit entry or front-end NI 9215 adjusts itself to take advantage of the range of the ADC?  Thank you.

    Kyle

NI 9215 has a possible range at the hardware level, nominal ±10V (acutally it is usually on ±10.4V, ±10.2V, max ±10.6V at least).  If you set a smaller range, as in your example of 0V - 10V, the NOR-DAQmx driver will choose the smallest range that the device is capable of and uses this range in the material.  Since there is only one (±10V) range which is the beach that will use the equipment.

For devices capable of several beaches, such as the X series or the module NI 9205, if you define a range of 0V - 4V, the pilot would determine that the smallest range that contains the specified user is ±5V and set the amplitude of the ADC as a result.  If you choose 0 - 6V or ±6V etc, the driver would find that the smallest possible range is ±10V and use that extend instead.

  • Need to read a 30, 1.5 a analog input using a NOR-9205

Problem: I need to read two analog inputs with good resolution using a C-Series card. The two beaches of signal are 0-30 V @ 1.5 and 0-5 V (not sure of the current). I need to be able to read the signal 5V with a precision of mV (or 16-bit resolution).

I looked at the module-9221, which works very well with the 30V, signal, but does not have enough resolution for the 5V signal. The 9221 is 12 bits on the beach of 60V.

I looked at the NOR-9205, which works very well with the 5V signal, but it cannot process the higher V 60 signal.

If a voltage divider circuit comes to mind, but has anyone found a good solution to this (other than to get both modules)?

Well, the current should not question.  The entrance of the analog device (ideally) should draw no current and everything running on the source will cross the UUT.

A 4:1 voltage divider should evolve the signal to 9205 AI as long as you do not violate the absolute maximum voltage between a pin of the device and the Earth.

  • Acquisition of data NOR-9205 Assistant set up range of input voltage

How to configure the module NI9205 to use the +/-200mV input range.

I use a custom scale, and it seems that I can not get an accurate reading.  I use a shunt current of 100 Ma (max 10A).  So I custom balance setting to have 100 x + b.  The current flowing in the device is 2 amps and I get a reading of 12-13 amps after custom scale.  Now I think the module is configured to sample for the entrance of 10V and I get an error of resolution.

    Hi therbert

Since your custom scale is 100 x, to work on the beach of +/-200 mV to your NI 9205 module you must configure your input signal of maximum and minimum range for +/-20 respectively.

    According to the equation: Range.max * scale.slope = 200mV * 100 = 20V

This will automatically configure to the scope of the module +/-200 mV to verify you can access the channel DAQmx property node and look for the analog input > General Properties > advanced > Range property, this will let you know in what range is the functioning of the device.

  • Configure the input voltage range

I use an NI USB-6221 with SignalExpress 3.0 card.

    The Spec for the 6221 map specifies 4 analog input ranges of +/-10V, 5, 1, & 0.2.

My question, how is the range of input voltage on the map on one of the beaches specified?

The closest thing I can find in SignalExpress is step 'DAQmx aquire', looking at the tab "configuration" of "Configuring the stage." There is a group called 'settings', there are areas of maximum and minimum input Signal, but context-sensitive help indicates that it is expected for the channel after the scaling values.

I also looked into MAX, but I see no way for me to directly configure one of these ranges.

Can someone explain how this works?

    Mike

You look at the right thing. When you specify the min and max, the DAQmx driver and then automatically selects the best range of this signal. For example, the Council supports + /. 1 + /-1, at ± 5 and ± varies from 10 volts and a jury of 12 bits. If you enter max/min to + /-2, the jury will be set to the +/-5 volt range. Your resolution is then 10 (oscillation of the total voltage) volts divided by 4096 (2 * 12).

If you were using LabVIEW, you can get the actual voltage selected range by using channel properties DAQmx AI. Rng.High and I. Rng.Low. If you specify a min and max that is less than the amplitude of the real signal is greater than the actual scale used, then you cut your input signal. DAQmx does not have an autoscale. Take a look at Page 4-2 in the Manual of the M series.
