• Online PDF form will not save edited info

  I created a number of pdf forms active, editable in Adobe Acrobat, DC format for readers to edit users. Then, I loaded the on my Wordpress site for visitors to use. Visitors can change the form and print it out and then right to the browser. However they cannot save the form that they have edited (it will don't save a blank form). They are able to download the blank form, and then edit and save. However, I can't seem to make it work save the form that they have edited while it is in the browser. Help would be much appreciated!

  I have created a form and that will span 2 pages before it is filled. Basically I have a full page and 3 text boxes on the second page. All sub_forms are set to "cast" that there are a number of areas that are able to expand as needed.

  I created earlier forms that are one page long and when the form expands and goes to the second page, all right.

  I am running at the moment it is, when the first page of the form develops on the second page, the page breaks second to page 3,.

  Question: Is it possible that I can have the first page flow in the second page without the second original page, creating a 3^rd page.

  If everything is cast, then the question is you have two pages defined in your design? If you do then that is your problem. In a completely past environment, you set the 1st page and all put on a page of the... .the product will force page like mandatory breaks when the form is planned on. To do this, in the view hierarchy drag objects on page 2 on the bottom of page 1, and then delete the empty page 2.

  I recently upgraded to CS4 especially for Acrobat 9.  I was told when I upgraded I was able to send shapes that could be filled, saved and sent as PDF files.  So far I'm not find it's true and I hope that it's operator error.

  The form is created in LiveCycle Designer.  There is a button to send e-mail and a button "print" on the subject.  The needs of the user (sales representative) to fill out the form and send it to a sales associate.  Agents do not have acrobat reader.  The partners must receive a completed PDF by the representative (who also only Reader).  The XML file does not work - too many steps for novice users.  In addition, the representative must be able to save a copy of the completed form.

  The form will not (and can not) be placed on a Web site.

  How can I make this happen for users of Reader?  Yet once, I was told by Adobe when I was quoting the upgrade for my team it was possible.  Yet I continue to encounter obstacles.

• PDF forms increasing in size from 10 to 100 x no reason apparent

  Hello.  I'm doing a series of forms in Acrobat Pro 11

  These are very basic documents, they contain a few lines of text and form fields.  Think of them as a form of standard fee as your W-2, that's how they are designed.  And they are all very similar to each other.

  Eventually most of these forms, in that I have created about 50-80KB file size, but some of them ended up being up to 6 MB in size, and I can't for the life of understand me why.  There is nothing else to their topic.  They are all optimized for displaying web pages, they use very minimal fonts (all the Arial Regular/bold/italic) and most are embedded subsets and there is no graphics in any of them.  If I register as a "small size pdf", it goes from about 5.8 MB to 5.2 MB.  I looked around optimization tips everything I could find.  6MB is not 'big' these days, but I don't see why some of them are 100 x larger than the others when they are almost identical in structure.

  Is there a way I can inspect the inner workings of these documents to know exactly who it is who takes so much space?

  It could very well be due to your use of Arial, assuming that you use in fact instead of Helvetica. Even if you specify Helvetica, Acrobat and Reader override a private version of Arial in any case, so what you do by specifying that arial adds unnecessarily space since the entire police is incorporated, sometimes several times. The problem is you can't go back and set the fields to use Helvetica and see the reduction in file size that you can imagine. This is due to what I consider to be a bug that I hope will be corrected. If you start with a fresh PDF, but you can copy fields abandoned to the new if you change first them to Helvetica. Or if you know how to hack into the PDF file, you can retrieve after you change the fields to Helvetica.

  I have a group of data that shows the tests failed.  At the beginning of the primary VI, I want to check if the file exists, otherwise create it, and if so, read it.  This file is going to be my cluster saved, indicating the tests that failed previously.

  I use datalog open/create/replace and will have a problem with the elements of the cluster always becomes zero.

  I also try to save the cluster in the file whenever a test fails.  This does not work either.

  Is datalog sub screw the the easiest thing to use here?  Can I use anything other than a cluster?

  In your backup vi, you must set the input operation to open/create/replace "replace or create.  The first time you write, the datalog is created and the data will be written.

  After setting the operation to create your vi Save, I was able to run it and it created a file datalog.  So I ran the vi with an entry error load so that he says historical data.  The data corresponding to what I wrote.  There is no problem with the functions of datalog.

  But there is a problem with your logic.  Why do you call an error if file exists?  When loading, you hope that the folder exists.  If your error cases are backward.  If the folder does not exist, why do you write zeros for the datalog?  Also, when writing new data to the datalog, you must define the operation to replace or nothing will happen and the new data will not be saved.

  I upgraded to first Pro CS5 a month ago and have had excellent results with several small projects.  But now, I'm working on a larger project (45 minutes) and the project takes a long time to load - 10 to 15 minutes - and even more to save - up to an hour.  Today, when registering, I received warning of insufficient memory in windows.  I changed optimize memory in edit - preference to 'memory' effect.  Here are some statements

  You have upgraded to 5.0.3? This sounds like the problem of bloating infamous project which was sent in 5.0.2 (or 5.0.3; can't remember).

  I'm building a PS extension which has a graphical interface with several sliders, steppers, digital, etc.. I put a ComboBox (sort of a "presets Picker"), which affects all elements of graphical interface at a time. All these values will be then be passed to a script of PS. My goal would be to implement a system of 'save new preset' - so I have to find a way to retrieve and store somewhere all the key/value pairs (they can be up to 10), giving them a unique name – one that will appear in the ComboBox and more pre-defined default parameters that are built in.

  Instead of a collection of ArrayCollection, I used an XML (via XMLList, XMLListCollection and HTTPService) to fill the ComboBox control and store all my presets to 5 by default - it is not clear to me how to put the new that users may want to save.

  Perhaps a system like the one shown in the MakeSideHeads, using preferences CSXS? At first view, to me it doesn't look like the right way, but chances are that I'm wrong.

  Any suggestion?

  No, it is defined by the user in the Acrobat preferences or by setting the initial view in Acrobat, but not to HAVE.

• Missing Conref when I save and reopen a file .xml in FM9

  I am running on Windows 7 FM9. We use the model files and comes with FM9 rules and modify them to our needs. Currently, I have a problem and I don't quite know how to solve.

  I have two pieces of DITA content, they are the two reference files created using the DITA menu and create a new < reference > file. I entered my content structured in two files and I want to include a document source B conref in my document A. I have insert the conref in a document using the FM DITA menu and save the two .xml files. The files record without any error. When I open the document to the conref text is missing and all that remains is a reference point blank (created by the insertion of the conref). If I open the source document, all is well. I also have an xref in the document and which seems to work very well. My colleague is having exactly the same problem. I'm making reference to a reference with an unordered list element.

  Also, if I save A file as FM the conref remains which leads me to believe that this has something to do with how FrameMaker's reading of the .xml file.

  Yes. By default, a conref is 'empty' (open the XML file in a text editor and take a look). Then ensure that the content of the conref should be included in the document, you must enable the option "auto-load". If xrefs are returned regardless of the setting, that looks like a bug to me.
