PDF save open file

Since firefox recently updated, .pdf files when clicked, either on the web or e-mail opens a box that says save file or open the file. Firefox updated and it does ask me again, just immediately try to download. I do not use any .pdf add on via Firefox, I tried one today, but it does not always help. Y at - it a way to turn this base without an add-on feature. He never needed before.

Thank you.

Hi Matt, sometimes the application's preferences end up with multiple entries, some under 'Adobe Acrobat... "and the other under" Portable Document Format (PDF).

If you have fiddled with all those who, without success, the settings file that stores these associations may has been corrupted. You can rename or delete and have Firefox regenerate. Here's how:

Open your current Firefox settings (AKA Firefox profile) folder using

Help > troubleshooting information > "view file" button.

Leave this window open, activate any Firefox window and quit the program (for example, the file menu > exit or Firefox menu > Exit)

Pause while Firefox finishing his cleaning, then rename the mimeTypes.rdf to something like mimeTypes.old

Restart Firefox. Your likely PDF preferences will be reset to the internal PDF Viewer, but you can always turn on 'ask '.

Any improvement?

    Hey community!

I hope everyone had a great holiday labor day and is pleased the weather cools to come in the next few months.

Here is what is happening.  I work in a small marketing department that does little pamphlets and brochures that we deliver in PDF format to our customers. I use Illustrator most.  When I work on what either its a file in Illustrator I as described in the window that I work in (example: FileName.ai @ some % (preview CMYK/GPU).)  When I save this file into a PDF file via "save under", Illustrator will have nomdefichier.pdf @ some % (preview CMYK/GPU) in the name of the file in the window of the open workspace.

So my question, is there a way to change the settings for that, when I record on a .pdf of an .ai the .ai file will remain open the file and not move on to the pdf format?

I appreciate help or advice that is will can have!

    Use rather "Save a Copy".

  • Double-click on the PDF not opening files with

    Mac OS x 10.1.1 10.11.6/Acrobat.

Suddenly does not open pdf files with a double click, I now open Acrobat and file > open.

In addition, once they are open, they do not close by clicking on the small red dot, now, I have to go to file > close.

Please don't suggest not to change the default open with file information - they already have all the default value of Acrobat.

    So frustrating!

    Hi castina15,

Please install updates and then try to reproduce the problem:

Update and patch 10.x Acrobat or Reader on Windows or Mac OS 10.x

  • How can I NOT save a file whenever I open a PDF file, open an attachment, etc. ? I know how to set the option to change the save location, but sometimes I just want to not SAVE a file I've read during navigation

I don't want Firefox to save a copy on my hard drive of each attachment, PDF, etc. I have open while browsing. How to make this happen?

Firefox needs to download and save a file before transmitting it to a plugin.

You can set the Boolean pref browser.helperApps.deleteTempFileOnExit true on the topic: config page to remove these files.

To open the topic: config page, type Subject: config in the address bar (address) and press the 'Enter' key, as you type the url of a Web site to open a Web site.

If you see a warning then you can confirm that you want to access this page.

    • Use the filter at the top bar of the on: page config to more easily spot a preference.
    • Preferences that have changed also show "BOLD" (user set).
    • Preferences can be reset to the default value using the context menu if they are set of users
    • Preferences can be changed via the context menu: Edit (string or integer) or toggle (Boolean)

    Hi samanthac39242619

You must register to organize PDF service https://cloud.acrobat.com/organizepdf & use PDF tool organizing to turn the pages at all times.

I have recently started to receive bank statements in the form of PDF files - can open and read files fine, but how can I save the files to a folder on my computer?

The best way is to right click (Ctrl-click on Mac) on the url that you use to save the file on your computer. If you have a pdf file open in your browser, move your icon to the bottom of the screen, there should be a contextual toolbar. Click the floppy disk icon to save the file.

  • How to open files in pdf format .php. Can do in Safari, and not in FF

I tried to open a file from a web page that downloads as a .php. When I open it, it happens like jibberish (for me), not in pdf format. If I use Safari, it happens in pdf format in the appropriate format.
    Thanks in advance.

You can rename the file in the Finder and add a .pdf file extension if the vehicle currently has a .php file extension.

Better still is to check the file name when you download and save a file to make sure that the file has the correct file extension to avoid these problems.

  • Cannot open files have or pdf in Photoshop

WARNING "Could not complete your request because of a program error" appears when I try to place or open pdf or illustrator files. Have recently updated the iMac and reinstalled cool apps. Running the last OS of El Capitan. Tons of disk space, of work and the RAM disk space.

I'm used to be able to open or place files directly in Photoshop. Now I have to open them in the native application, save as psd or jpg, then put that into the file. Some time after being spoiled by the compatibility between the CC apps. I think I might even drag and drop files into photoshop.

    Who did it!  Thank you!

  • "Add open files" option to optimize scanned PDF files

Acrobat Pro XI lets me select an open PDF file on which to run the text recognition, with the possibility to add open files.

I would do the same thing when you use optimize scanned Documents or OCR and optimization features.  But with them, I don't see an Option add open files and do not understand why, since it was available when I used the operation to reduce the size of file in Acrobat 9 Standard.  It's a huge time saver.

I had hoped that OCR and Optimize function would allow me to do two operations at the same time, on some open files.  Is there a way to add files opened during optimization in Acrobat Pro XI?  If this is not the case, this functionality can be restored?

Full disclosure: I essentially asked this question several months ago and two useful experts suggested Actions to build, but finally I'm the spokesperson, they did not.  I gave up and reinstalled Acrobat 9 Standard because this feature was so important to me.  Since Acrobat 9 is no longer supported and I switched to Windows 10 I clenched my teeth, reinstalled Pro XI and got another go at him.  Thank you.

    Hi James,

Acrobat Pro XI does not "add open files" and the Action works on the currently opened file, which makes another stream of necessary work.  You can customize one of the Actions, to better meet your needs, but should be available in a folder open files.  Alternatively, you could move to Acrobat Pro DC.

If you think that I am not the question, please clarify.

    Thank you!

  • How to quickly save multiple files as Reader Extended PDF? Acrobat Pro XI

I need to add form fields to fill out hundreds of existing PDF documents on a semi-annual basis.  In order to expedite this process I think I add all the pages in a PDF file, will create the fields in forms on a single page and then duplicate the forms to all pages.  It is very effective.  Then, I need to save each page in a separate Reader Extended PDF file.  If, after you have added and duplicate the form fields, I save the file with all pages as a PDF reader, then export the pages, pages will be saved in the standard PDF format for export.  Currently I have to manually save each PDF Reader Extended file by opening each file for each page, one by one, after it is exported and click file > save as other > Reader Extended PDF > activate tools more...  It would be extremely painful and long, and I have to assume there is a better way to get this done.  However, I have discovered an alternative method by browsing the forums and documentation of the software.  How can I export pages while preserving the file type of the parent document?  Or is there a better alternative?

Activation with Acrobat Reader is intentionally a manual process, so it cannot be automated.

The only other way activate Reader is with LiveCycle Reader Extensions, which is also available with PDF Java Toolkit of Datalogics, and these can be automated. Expensive but.

Another approach is to convince your users to readers Reader 11 or DC, which can save forms not compatible player.

  • I can't save my PDF files. When I hit Save as an empty window appears instead of a menu of files or folders Windows Explorer view. I'm a Publisher and save files under new names of files after changing them. Why can't I just save these files in Adobe DC (

I run Acrobat Professional so that I can change/brand place/comment in the PDF files. At one point recently I noticed "Acrobat Reader DC" in the name of the file at the top of the page. I do not have ask this or do anything to get there that I was aware of this. I adjusted for the new look of the screen and edited several files without incident. But yesterday, I opened a large file which had been addressed to me in Dropbox. When I downloaded and opened it and tried to change it, the selection tool was not aligned properly, so the selected areas were elsewhere on the page, where the cursor was. I restarted my computer and was able to change the file more or less normally (I noticed more little glitches with this CD player but I can live with them). But when tried to save the file with a new file name, like I always do to differentiate files that changed since the original files, the save window is empty. There is no option to save the file with a new file name. In fact. There is no option to save the file with the changes! I thought maybe it was a problem with this file only, but when I tried to edit a file provided by regular e-mail, I met the same problem trying to save to a new file name. What is the relationship between my old Acrobat Professional and Acrobat Reader DC? Why can't save files normally? I managed to save the changes I did by saving it in the cloud to Adobe (I had to then because I could not send the file by e-mail because of its size - I tried to send it to me)., but I'd rather widely navigate in Windows Explorer to work with files. I suspect that there is some simple aspects about what I am simply absent or do not know. Can anyone help?

Please take a look at this thread and let us know if we get to the brand:

"Save as" box pop up does not allow me to save the document.

Save the content of the loader in byte array, and then send this byte array to FileStream

    Something like:

    mcLoader.addEventListener (Event.COMPLETE, contentLoaded);

    var f: File = File.applicationStorageDirectory.resolvePath (fileName);

Save the file in the local space

    var fs:FileStream = new FileStream();

  • No option to save/open Pages files to the hard drive

In the Pages on my MacBook Pro, I can access only now the iCloud.

If I want to open a file, it only gives me those in the cloud, no way to navigate to those recorded on the real MBP.

If I want to save a file, it only gives me the ability to save in the cloud, not for the real MBP.

I checked "Help", which only says: choose "save under" and choose the folder. Who don't show up with two problems 1) no "Save as" in the menu more and 2) no way to choose any place other than the cloud.

I had a quick glance at all parameters which seemed even vaguely be connected to Pages, but found nothing useful either. I have no idea if or what I changed in the first place.

Naturally, I don't want or need to save ALL my files on a cloud. So, how can I teach Pages to simply do what I want?

The following example was made with v5.6.2 on OS X 10.11.5 Pages.

When you save a document, Pages remembers this location for the next open or save operation. The default open view will probably look like this in iCloud Drive: folder Pages. If you click on this Pages - iCloud selector, you can see the locations of the other folders. Choose one and then click on new Document.

If you click on that left most button on the open Panel, it will hide the left panel of Favorites and give you this point of view even more disconcerting:

You have a few choices to save a document. The first thing you need to do when you create a new document is to select the file menu: Save... and choose a location to save it under one name other than Untitled.pages. This will start the automatic backup (about every 15 seconds locally) and also the version back to history. There is also a facilitator Option key for the file that changes menu duplicate in save under... The default save Pages panel is minimalist and can cause some confusion over available save slots.

Again, you can develop the where: selector to choose a local drive location, or you can click on the arrow pointing downwards in the annotation of the red circle. When you do this, a much larger window appears with the familiar left from the Favorites panel, and to choose a new save location. Once you have done this, you can also choose to make a new folder in this location to save and by clicking on the "Save" button, your document is placed in the folder that you just created.
