  Hello indesigners.

  I have 2 columns of text and have an ellipse that has wrapping applied, (wrap around object shape)

  and I required ger cause what im after.but I would also like to put a text in front of the object to wrap text.

  but as the text gets closer he disappears.i know its due to the object with wrap test applied to it.so is there a way to bypass

  PS: the object has fringes also applied to the it.i tried to write the text in photoshop and then import into indesign.

  While the frame is selected, go to object > Options to block of text (CTRL B (or CMD B on Mac))

  This will display the field Options.

  There is a checkbox for "ignore text dressed '.

• Print and import of Illustrator into Indesign Questions

  Hello

  I am currently doing a project for College and I am fairly new to Indesign and Illustrator...

  My Question is if I create a logo or a work of art in illustrator how to import it in inDesign, for the moment that I'm just place the .ai file in my project of indesign, but I noticed that it tends to lose the look of vector. Number one am I imported the file correctly, and number two, I make a brochure standard, if I want to activate this go to print I do save as pdf and then print?

  This leads to my final question,

  I have an A4 of the project in illustrator and stuck in a configuration of A3 in illustrator so I can use the space on the project of A3 to explain what I did in the project etc... If I save it in PDF format I can still print on a sheet A3 or because I saved it as a PDF it will print as A4?

  Sorry for what seems like silly questions for you, but scratching their heads material for me...

  To bring your art Illustrator file > Place...

  View > display performance > high quality screen will improve the look on the screen. Vectors print at the resolution of the output device, so the preview always is just a preview and not an indication of print quality.

  Normal workflow these days is to provide a PDF for printing. You can print on any sheet size you like. You can learn more about "slug" in the help files. The slug area is outside the trim on your ID file and is used to the notes of the printer as you describe.

  When I'm defining a table a second line of text para highlighted with yellow color and I checked if I signed conditional text by erroneous but no, it has nothing to do with that... I am facing a lot of problem and pass several times now... Please help (see the image attached)

• Preview InDesign question: items not displayed in preview mode or printing

  In Indesign, some elements (images and text) are hidden in preview mode even if their layer options are checked for printing and display. This was discssed with chat support but support could not solve the problem by taking a quick glance to the queue for an hour, and I had to leave the cat.

  Could someone give advice if it seems familiar?

  What is happening in and outside, and it's not all items disappear in preview mode. I even reinstalled the application, but it made no difference.

  With the actual selected item, open the attributes Panel and check that there is not printable.

  The other possibility is that you have a white object to overprint.

• InDesign question

  I create a PDF in InDesign and when it opens in acrobat reader pages are blank. Any suggestions?

  It was me, rather than Derek, who asked the overprint preview. Endangered means that objects are nonprinting somehow. Could be the layer is set on not print, or the objects themselves could be configured to not print in the Panel.

  If it is in the attributes, it could be that you accidentally put this default error by checking the box with nothing selected. Done with a file open, it would affect only this file, any file opened, it becomes the default for all new work.

• Profile of color in InDesign question

  I created a shade using a Pantone color:

  

  But in the color Panel, it appears as a color lab:

  

  And when I have the mouse on the swatch in the swatches Panel, I see these values in the floating yellow box above the sample that appears on mouseover.

  The ink Manager is not to use the lab for task values:

  

  Why InDesign converts the tones of colors lab? In addition, fusion of transparent space is set to CMYK (if it's relevant).

  Best thing is to try it. Open the PDF in Acrobat and open the output Preview Panel. Your Pantone (s) will be listed if it is present at the bottom of the list.

• Photoshop, InDesign question of size

  I work on some CD packaging in Photoshop and want to put it in InDesign for crop marks and such.

  My Photoshop file is 9.5 x 4.75 (inches). I then add a saignement.125 to the canvas, which makes 9.627 x 4,877. It is at 300 dpi.

  I then start InDesign and create a new document to 9.5 x 4.75 with a saignement.125 locked on all edges. I then place the PSD file directly in InDesign, but the size of the PSD does not match the size of the canvas of InDesign and is not adapted for the same proportion either.

  I also tried to save my PSD in PDF format with the same results.

  What am I I miss guys? Thanks for the help and feel free to teach me something that I don't know resloutions/measure.

  PS: I am running CS5

  Excuse me but 9.5 more bleeding 0.125 on all sides must be equal to 9.75 for the new size. Ditto for the other dimension. Or am I missing something?

  In a page, I first inserted a block of text with a column, and then inside it, I inserted an another fram of text I used two columns on.

  The problem is that I am not able to adjust the block of text inside the main text frame. How can I do it please?

  Create the text block with two columns, and then select the text in a single column and apply span to 2.

  

• Make a gatefold in InDesign - question on changing one of the size of the pages!

  I'm doing a gatefold in my document. I use CS4. I need to change one of the size of the pages inside the fold of the door.

  I don't see the 'page' tool in the selection toolbar. Any ideas?

  Also when you make the fold lines, make a SPOT and RED color and also implement OVERPRINTING, save it as a style of object and place them on the top most layer and lock it.

  Then, the printer may choose to not that plate output, but you will have a clear indiciation where your creases are permanently and it is also used to indiciate printing where the folds are when they take work.

• Cannot open find/replace... Tab palette blocks InDesign

  InDesign questions CC2015: when I try and open find/replace in the menu or the key order, nothing happens. When I try and open the palette of the tabs in the menu or command, it blocks of InDesign.

  Any help would be appreciated.

  Is this a new behavior? Try 101 troubleshooting: replace, or 'trash' your InDesign preferences .

  I'm stuck, why cc cloud desktop application tell InDesign is installed and up to date but no way to launch?

  Also, when I look in my program and it is not listed, so it should really not installed right applications?

  This did not work for me, because there are indesign questions past with my computer.  It took me 2 1/2 hours with the cat to solve the problem.  They find and remove completely all files indesign (not my working ones) and then install indesign manually.  Many thanks to Adobe support!

• Color control on the export in PDF format

  Hi, I have an another Quark to InDesign question:

  I just exported a file in InDesign that uses the same color of Pantone (287C) as a file in Quark, but the two seem very different (in the InDesign PDF colors are faded/lighter/washed out compared to the Quark colors). Left is InDesign, right is Quark. Anyone got any ideas on why these are different/how to get Quark color in InDesign?

  It is for the web-distribution, not printing.

  Why use a spot color for this? Just use a RGB version if it will be broadcast on screen.

  Fine print, you can go into the ink Manager and set tasks to display with the color lab.
