  While the frame is selected, go to object > Options to block of text (CTRL B (or CMD B on Mac))

  This will display the field Options.

• Placed inDesign text linking question

  Hi - I recently put to day at CS6 and am having a problem with the binding of text files.

  When I place the Word Doc in the InDesign file initially (not in position), the link to the original document is present in the 'Links' window as expected. However, I need to transfer this text in another area of text on the page and of course when I do, the link is deleted.

  Therefore, I tried when the Doc Word directly on the page in position (I have a configuration of "automatic formatting" I need the text to go) However when I do this no links appear in the window. To clarify, I have three installation of boxes of separate text on my master page I need this bound through text.

  Any suggestions how to solve this problem? I browsed the preferences and assured that everything is as it should be.

  Sorry for the double post! I solved it - for someone else in the same boat, I have created a Master Page with the link text flowed through 3 separate text boxes. Then, I selected to replace the objects main pages in real time and relinked to different documents from there, according to the needs.

  I made a calendar in InDesign and you want to change the color of the text in which each month is written in. I select the text and the color palette is displayed, but I can only change the shade of black. I can change the color to be one of the options, CMYK, but I don't want that. I want that as in Photoshop color picker. How can I change the text in ANY color and not only CMYK and various shades of such? Why don't I have a wider color picker when I try to fill the text with color? Sorry if I'm unclear in my question, I just want more options of color. Thank you!

  You can access a similar to that of Photoshop (but NOT identical) color picker by double-clicking on the icon background or contour in the Toolbox, the color Panel or the Swatches palette.

  You can also use the Panel menu in the color Panel to choose a set of sliders if a single slider for a named swatch shows, and the Panel can be expanded to show a small range where you can enjoy.

• Text InDesign CS6 increments wrapping is not accurate.

  My job went from CS4 to CS6, so I don't know if the CS5 had the same problem. Anyway. Wrapping of text (in the bounding box) now seem to be very limited. For example, if I have, say a texte.25 wrap on the underside of an object, but I need to change a little pour.245 the text does not move. The box shows the change, but the text below is not just do the same. CS4, I was able to make small incremental changes to the scarf, but it does not work for me now to the CS6. All ideas, answers?

• Preview InDesign question: items not displayed in preview mode or printing

  In Indesign, some elements (images and text) are hidden in preview mode even if their layer options are checked for printing and display. This was discssed with chat support but support could not solve the problem by taking a quick glance to the queue for an hour, and I had to leave the cat.

  Could someone give advice if it seems familiar?

  What is happening in and outside, and it's not all items disappear in preview mode. I even reinstalled the application, but it made no difference.

  With the actual selected item, open the attributes Panel and check that there is not printable.

  The other possibility is that you have a white object to overprint.

• Adobe Acrobat text Configuration question Mac

  Hi I am currently using Adobe Acrobat on my macbook. I downloaded a pdf file and in the police box he showed with the appropriate text 'Open without Semibold' name. However when I try to add text it turns in a different font and it does not list the original fonts in the text selection bar. My question is how can I use the same font (open without Semibold) if I want to add or change text?

• Cannot get the "< FEFF >" string in the selected text [indesign CS6]

  Hello world!

  I can't get the string to the selected text. The selected text contains several xml tags.

  In adobe indesign cc version of 2014, the selected text is bring the string «< FEFF >» tags

  In indesign adobe cs6 version cannot get the string "< FEFF >. they do ""-empty space.

  

  Are the above-selected text contains several xml tags.

  The xml tags are not converted to "" but "\uFEFF" (zero-width space non-bec), it is the character used to represent the tags in a text frame. Looks like the apple script converts a hexadecimal representation unicode values.

• Strange problem: paste text InDesign CC2015 always adds color cyan

  Whenever I have paste a text in an InDesign in InDesign CC2015 document - it is also important the cyan 100% color to my Swatch Library. (They text is always black, however, and there is no background color or whatever it is.)

  Anyone know why this is happening?

  What is not working:

  Change the default shading of paragraph fill color, if you change the default settings of your 'base Paragraph Style' when no document is open to 'None' and go ahead.

  Have you always a swatch namedC = 100 M = 0 Y = 0 K = 0"that is in use. I suspect that fill colorC = 100 M = 0 Y = 0 K = 0"is part of the style 'No paragraph Style' paragraph 'invisible '. And "Basic Paragraph Style" is based on "No paragraph Style".

  Just tested the script (ExtendScript/JavaScript) and I can confirm my hypothesis.

  We can address the "no paragraph Style" by the index 0 of the collection of the app (i.e. InDesign) paragraph styles like this:

  app.paragraphStyles[0].paragraphShadingColor.name;
  

  will return "C = 100 M = 0 Y = 0 K = 0".

  And you cannot change that. Even by the script.

  Trying to 'None' in the color property of shading as value

  app.paragraphStyles[0].paragraphShadingColor = "None";
  

  will throw an error.

  So "C = 100 M = 0 Y = 0 K = 0" will stay with us for a long time, I suspect ;-)

• Text InDesign table problem

  I hope someone can help me!

  I have a table where each row contains a lot of text.  Normally, I can continue my table on the next page, and overflow the text in the row of the table on the next page. However, for some reason, rather than texting break and continue on the next page, all of the text itself removes completely and all of the text line is placed on the next page (leave blank splits on the previous page).  I don't know why it behaves in this way.  How can I get my text of table row to reach the bottom of the page and the overflow on the next page?

  I use CS5.5

  InDesign table cells don't break across pages, as they do in Word. It's all or nothing.

  Hi all

  Please tell me there is a simple solution to my problem, I appologise if this has already been posted, but could not find it in the validations.

  Objective: I want to create a handout for my students in an interactive pdf format where there are two columns. The first column has textfields where they type in their solution (and then save the PDF for their own reference). The second column using textfields in which I put in tips and solutions to the task, they are initially hidden from view and students can press a button to display help one fields required.

  What I use: windows 7 pro 64-bit and windows 8.1 64-bit using Indesign cs6 recorded copies fully implemented to date. processor i7 4 GB RAM

  What I do:

  1. create a text box.

  2 Add text to the box.

  3. right click on the text box and choosing interactive > convert to text field

  4 change the default to hidden so that triggered

  5. Add text to the new field of text through the text tool

  6 create a button in the pane buttons and sample forms

  7. Select the button to display the text field on the tap

  8. export to interactive PDF

  9. open in acrobat x pro (10.1.1)

  10. click on the button

  what I get is an empty text field, the text on step 5, I wrote went.

  Please help me solve this I have already lost half of my hair. I think I've tried all the combinations on the optipons button nothing works

• Text InDesign CS6 does not work!

  I really need help!  I just installed Indesign CS6 using Windows 7, have Firefox firewall.

  I am a student and am by following the step by step from scratch guides (creation of a box and type the text in the box).

  When I try to type any kind of text in the box I created all that I get is a grey line.

  Absolutely no letters or numbers appear in this box.  I have an assignment due and could use very little help.

  Check your size settings and document of police as well as the zoom level. This "simulated" is frequent in page layout applications if the text is too small to read, anyway, and that the program is not necessary to render to the display screen. There is a pref for it. Change the font size or to use anotehr fonts. You can also enable high quality preview to apply full text rendering.

  I ran into a problem with a dynamic text field in an AS3 project. Here is the basic scenario:

  The scene is a classic text - filed a dynamic text. I'm loading the html from an external file content in this text field.

  The question that I am running is that the balls on a bulleted list are inheriting the color of the class expanded inside of them, in the above case, there is a range of 'red text' inside the list item. I expect only the 'red' text to be red but the ball for this list item is red as well. Everything else it seems is applied correctly.

  I'm pretty stummped on this one. If anyone can offer suggestions or help, it would be most appreciated.

  It will certainly solve the problem. You just need to use a version of flash that supports / export TLFTextFields (latest versions). I don't know how old is your project. Good luck!
