Peripheral hardware devices - don't work or are not detected in Windows.

Hardware devices do not work or are not detected in Windows.

I have exactly the same problem. Is the returned message the Microsoft FixIt. No further details given. Nothing seems to be more information on the problem other than the claim that we exist.

  • Certain files and folders are not detected by Windows Explorer (XP).

I created 15 files in a folder on a shared network drive, associated with another computer. My computer is running XP x 64 v. 2003 SP2, and the computer server (the one with the shared drive) has v.2002 XP Pro (32-bit) SP3.  When I open the folder in Windows Explorer I see only 12 folders. When I tried to rename one of the 12 visible files to match the name of one of the 3 missing files I get an error (file exists!). What is all too weird, when I select all and delete 12 deleted records and previously missing 3 appears.

Has also had a similar problem with entire folders. The Explorer does not see the folder but when I create a shortcut by typing the path of the folder manually and click on the shortcut, the name of the file appears in Solution Explorer!

All files and folders are visible when I connect on the 32-bit computer. There is no difference between the files/folders regarding the permissions or security settings are concerned. Other users have experienced the similar problem. I tested this on 2 other computers on the same network. On a 32-bit computer, everything works fine, but on another 64-bit computer, I get the same question of file disappears.  It seems to suggest some incompatibility between Windows XP 32-bit and 64-bit XP systems.  Any suggestions how to fix it? It's really frustruting...

  • Satellite L755D - Web cam/mic are not detected by Skype

    Good evening everyone,

I just noticed that when I install and open Skype, my built-in webcam and microphone are not detected by the application. He has worked in the past, but I've not had to use Skype for more than a year, so never noticed until now.

I checked the Device Manager and there is no webcam or microphone listed. I tried to search for new hardware, but it found nothing.

    Specifications of systems:

    OS: Windows 8.1 Pro
    Processor: AMD A8 - 3500M
Memory: 8 GB of RAM (2 x 4 GB Kingston sticks)
HARD drive: 750 GB Seagate Barracuda
The version of the BIOS: Insyde Corp. 2.10 (28/06/2012)

If any other info is needed to help diagnose and solve this problem, then please ask and I will provide.

    Thank you very much

    Michael

I guess the laptop not was not preinstalled with Win 8.1 but updated you the Win 7 system to Win 8.1.
    Is this correct?

I m application because it would be interesting to know if the webcam worked correctly using Win 7.
The driver for the webcam using Win 7 to be installed to get the webcam recognised.

To help to win 8.1 additional webcam driver is not necessary because it s already part of the Win 8.1 System. That is why the webcam should appear in the Device Manager without installation of the webcam driver.

However, some models of laptop supports additional webcam POWER setting in the BIOS.
Please check this option in the BIOS.

    Hi Martin,

This problem can be caused if the program for the particular file could not be installed on your computer.

    1. What is the file format or the extension of the files that you do not read or recognize in Windows 7?

    2. what exactly happens when you try to open empty files?

    3. have you made any recent hardware or exchange of software on your computer before the show?

You need to check the files that are not open in Windows 7 and trying to install the software for files that are not opening and control.

In IE11, use the option "Save as" and specify the location / folder you want to save the download. Once the download is complete check to see if the downloaded file is in the specified folder.

You can also try another browser such as Firefox to see if you are able to save the downloaded file.

  • my cd/dvd does not work I get a code 10, the devices are not detected what do I do to fix these problems

I went to the automated correction, it but still no change

    Hello

Description of errors related to the 10 Code that generates the Device Manager in Windows on computers
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/943104/

Please make all below even if you have done some before as it is often the set of operations which solves the problem.

    Try this - Panel - Device Manager - CD/DVD - double-click on the device - driver tab - click
Update the drivers (this will probably do nothing) - then RIGHT click the drive - UNINSTALL - REBOOT
This will refresh the default driver stack.

Then, work your way through these - don't forget the drive might be bad, could be a loose cable or
slight corrosion on the contacts (usually for a laptop) and other issues.

CD/DVD drive does not appear in Windows Vista, or you receive this error during the installation of Windows Vista after booting from the DVD (AHCI)

Drive CD - R or CD - RW Drive is not recognized as a recordable device
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/316529/

Another possibility is that the cables are loose. Remove ALL power, then make sure that the cables in both
ends. Remove and replace, do not just tight. For laptops, you can often clean power and
contacts data with a pencil eraser.

Some DVD players do not use the Windows default drivers so check with the manufacturer of system and
manufacturer of device to see if there is a firmware or drivers for your drive if necessary.

    Hope these helps.

  • 1707 Dell Bluetooth card connects to devices, but devices don't work

I just bought a Dell Inspiron 11 3147 model, which has the Dell 1707 WiFi and Bluetooth card installed.  The WiFi seems to work very well, but I can't Bluetooth works properly.  Whenever I have pair a Bluetooth device it seems to associate correctly, but the device does not work.  I have tried everything I can think of to work and not luck.  I installed the new drivers from the website package, I installed the update of the BIOS and chipset drivers.  I even tried to do a factory reset to see if I had missed something and which did not help either.  When I first tried to use Bluetooth last week after buying the computer, matched devices would work at least for a few seconds, and now they don't work at all.  Dell 1707 map would be defective or is there something else I can try?

Who did it - with disabled WiFi Bluetooth mouse works fine.

Firefox remembers the story, but doesn't remember the closed tabs, sessions.

In Options of Firefox is set to use Custom Settings For History, everything is checked except always use Private Browsing Mode. So I'm not in private browsing.

When I press to Undo Closed button nothing happens, & in the Manager session Save Session button is grayed. I tried to install other add-ons that remembers the tabs. tried to reinstall/disable these 2 modules. Did ' t help. On my 2nd computer I have same modules, same settings and they work normally. the 3rd closed computer undo works tabs also. How to solve this problem? I decided to ask before Firefox Reset...

  • Satellite A215-S4737: FN + F5 to F9 are not workingk on Windows XP

    Hello world.

I got this laptop with Windows Vista installed.
I wanted to move make Windows XP. Before that, I've updated the BIOS to the latest version (1.80). All FN keys worked very well.

After all the drivers Windows XP, incluing quest adventure to install Ati Radeon Xpress X 1200 driver, everything works, with the exception of a few keys on the FN function. F5 to F9 keys do not work.

Here the most annoying, it is the brightness of the LCD screen.
The screen is too bright and even the brightness with Catalyst software, nothing happens...

    Help here?

    Thank you

    Hello

    There is an answer simply;
The keys FN don t work because loaded drivers and tools are not installed.

This laptop seems to be designed only for the American market, so the drivers and tools need to be downloaded from the Tosh page we!

    http://www.toshibadirect.com/TD/B2C/home.to

If you find not all drivers XP or tools for this device, then either you have to wait until the driver will be released or you use the XP without the additional use of FN keys.
