Permissions InDesign
I can't open InDesign - it says I do not have the right permissions? Any ideas?
Yep. in order to launch CC fine apps than the Preferences folder in ~/Library must have all the permissions so that it will create necessary preferences of the file that is required to start.
Or some time, because of corrupted preferences file, this will affect the launch.
Normally the icon bounces on dock and disappear. or the app crash when loading the splash screen.

Hello. I explained the following error in InDesign. When you open a file that is stored on a server, I get an error message because the file is already open, or don't have sufficient permissions. If I copy to the desktop and open it, I have no problem. Can someone help me? Thank you.
Is there a file .idlk remaining on the server which is not removed properly?

Hi, I get the error message following the launch CC15 attempt:
Cannot launch Adobe InDesign that you do not have sufficient permissions to access the preferences folders. Make sure that you have the appropriate permissions and then restart Adobe InDesign.
Any help appreciated as I passed the age trying to find a solution!
Hi André,.
It seems your preferences and cache files have not all permissions. There are two things you can do to solve this problem:
1. provide full access to the preferences and cache of InDesign files, more information on ERROR when you try to launch
2. or create a new user on your system admin and start InDesign from there.
Thank you

I'm unable to launch InDesign CC2015 and I get the above message. A little history: my daughter (college House) had already installed CC2015 on our computer at home for little work. It has access through his school. I decided to sign for my subscription to the CC and were able to open Photoshop, Illustrator and other apps that I downloaded, simply not InDesign. I deleted his old copy and re-installed InDesign, but still no luck.
I am connected to creative cloud through my account, not his. Any suggestions? Thank you.
She motioned to his account of cloud so the computer would be 'open' and waiting for you to sign IN?
You use an account that has ADMINISTRATOR-level permissions?
Do run as Administrator http://forums.adobe.com/thread/969395 [says again and also to Adobe all emissions] will sometimes fix errors "weird" or "authorization".

I am trying to run Adobe InDesign CC but this message keeps popping up. I tried to uninstall and download it again, but it does not work. I tried to use disk utility to repair my disk and permissions, but that does nothing.
I am the administrator and the only user of this computer, and other programs (including Illustrator, Photoshop and the rest of the cloud creative) works very well.
Cannot start new inDesign CC | Adobe community
This was written for an earlier version you may have, so make sure you check the folder corresponding to your version. CC is Version 9, CC 2014 is Version 10 and CC 2015 is Version 11.

Error opening InDesign doc on network share permissions
Hi all
We have a bunch of Mac users running MacOSX 10.9.5 running this version of InDesign
2014.2 release
10.2.0.69 build
They work on documents that are stored on a Windows 2003 file server (connected via smb://servername/share). Windows file server and Mac clients are all attached to AD.
Intermittently, they will receive this error when you try to open an InDesign file on the file server.
"Cannot open the document in Full: path:to:document.indd. You may not have permission or the document can be opened already.
If they try a second time, the document opens correctly. It also happens with what is happening in the Mac Finder while trying to open the doc using Adobe Bridge.
I checked permissions of sharing/NTFS on Windows 2003 server and they look very well (the permissions are inherited correctly and the person trying to open the document is the owner of it... etc...)
Any ideas on what's going on? On NTFS, users have the permission to do everything except take ownership and change permissions
Yes, it is a common problem in using a wrong setting for the server. The server must allow access to a file. Otherwise, the Finder blocks the file because it loads the preview. After 2-3 seconds, the file can be opened. Another problem is that the files in the Finder cannot be saved with Photoshop so that the file will be disabled in the Finder. Only way to get rid of the error is to change the server configuration or by using the bridge instead of the Finder.
I hope this helps.

InDesign won't start not due to a lack of permissions to write in the settings file!
My Indesign CC2014 won't start.
I get an errorwindow saying "Indesign could not start because you don't have permissons writeing in the Indesign settings file. Correct the problem and restart Indesign. »
Where is this file which is located?
I have no problem with other CC-programs, they work very well!
Someone has experienced this problem?
See replace your preferences for folder locations and does not start under new inDesign CC | Adobe Community for instructions to set the permissions on the Mac. Procedure is similar on Windows.

After having successfully installed many apps CC on my Mac Pro desktop computer, I started to do the same thing on my laptop. However, after two attempts to uninstall and re - download the CC InDesign and creative cloud Office. When starting InDesign, several times I get this error message: "error: unable to launch Adobe InDesign that you don't have sufficient permissions to access the folders preferences.» Make sure that you have permissions, restart Adobe InDesign. "and can not go any further.
I can't find any instructions on how to do it, or make reference to anyone else get this error.

Paul: Yes
Mohammed: Open a Finder window. Choose go > go to folder. ~/Library type and you will get file Preferences.
Paul: In the library now
Mohammed: Are you able to find the Preferences folder?
Paul: Yes
Mohammed: Control-click on the folder and choose read information.
Mohammed: Expand the section sharing & permissions.
Mohammed: Click the padlock icon in the lower corner on the right. Enter your administrator user name and password when you are prompted, and then click OK.
Paul: done
Mohammed: Please click on + icon and add the Admin and showing all users.
Paul: done
Mohammed: Set permission read/write for all users and the admin
Mohammed: Click the gear icon and select apply point-to-point closed
Paul: for each of the individual users and groups?
Paul: one at a time?
Paul: I did it.
Mohammed: Open a Finder window. Choose go > go to folder. Enter ~/library/Application support and give all the permissions file to Adobe.
Paul: Who is over... I have added all the users and groups, given to each "read and write" and extended permissions to all of the included items.
Mohammed: Now please open a Finder window. Choose go > go to folder. File type support and give all the permissions file to Adobe.
Paul: Okay, I understand... I proceed to your instructions.
Mohammed: thank you very much.
Paul: I'm done.
Mohammed: Please close all Adobe Applications and then launch InDesign CC and let me know the result.
Paul: OK... looking for good Mohammed far... fingers crossed!
Paul: Thank you Mohammed... She has launched!
Mohammed: Excellent, I'm so happy to hear this from you.
Mohammed: I certainly appreciate your patience in this process.
Paul: And I have yours.
