  OK I downloaded the manual update of the sp2 to vista recently and tried to install it too it looked like this was very well done a reboot installation finished and pops up saying "service pack do not have. "changes in recovery please don't turn off your computer" so it does what it charges and the same pop up in order to continually don't this rebooot back reboot back I have vista 32 bit but not capable of too many system restore

  As is the case with most computers/laptops these days, they do not come with good Vista disc to repair only the recovery disks.

  As your grave in the category above, download the ISO on the link provided and make a bootdisk of it.

  Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.

  At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu.

  When you have changed that, insert the Bootable disk you did in the drive and reboot.

  You can make a tool to restart system, System Restore, etc. with it.

  There are several methods to reinstall Vista.

  There is no Windows Vista downloads available from Microsoft.

  You can contact your computer manufacturer and ask them to send you a set of recovery disks.

  They should do this for a small fee.

  To reinstall Vista using their recovery disk/s, you start from the 1st recovery disk they provide and follow the manufacturer's instructions to reinstall:

  The Mac version has installed fine on my desktop.  I now want to put the PC version on my laptop.

  Problem solved.  Seems to have been a combination of HP Support Assistant, eager to check updates and Avast2015 are not satisfied with some aspects of the installation.  Ended up uninstalling Avast, installation of PSE 13 and then re - install Avast.
