Persistable custom incompatible, install OTA fails, App World install fail?

Hi BlackBerry developers,.

I changed my application custom persistent object such that when I do an OTA installation now, it shows

1 the downloaded module is incompatible with the data already stored on the device... ". »

2. "download failed."

3. "907 invalid COD".

After researching, this seems to be caused by the fact that the Persistable custom is now incompatible with the former. [1] [2].

My question is, if I press the new version containing the change to BlackBerry App World, will be the failure of upgrade App World in the same way? How do you upgrade via Desktop Manager, will it not too?

Thank you!

kcome, in my case, the error was caused not not by changing the name of the seller, but changes to the object persistent.

The answer to my question was the following:

MyApp v1.0 contains original persistent object.

MyApp v2.0 contains a modified persistent object.

If I try to install v2.0 by OTA v1.0 has been installed through the BlackBerry App World, the installation will fail with the error described.

If version 1.0 has been installed through BlackBerry App World, and I try to install v2.0 through BlackBerry App World, installation will succeed.

If version 1.0 is installed via OTA, and I try to install v2.0 by OTA, installation will succeed.

Basically if you use the same installation method, it can handle changes of the persistent object. Otherwise, you will need to uninstall and then install.

  • What OTA install different to install App World

    Hi BlackBerry developers,.

I wonder about the differences between the two paths of an app update - via OTA and via App World.

What I've done the research so far, it seems OTA installation clears incompatible persistent data and uses JavaLoader. App World doesn't do the same?

    Thank you!

Based on tests on board in this post (http://supportforums.blackberry.com/t5/Java-Development/Custom-Persistable-incompatible-OTA-install-...)

App World and OTA seem everyone has its own incompatible persistent data management mechanism. If the upgrade is done in the same mechanisim that install the current version of the application, installation will succeed. However, if the mechanism of installation is different, then an uninstall is required before installation.

  • BlackBerry Smartphone App world icon is missing from my home screens and download

I've upgraded to Blackberry App World version 4.0.0.63 on my Blackberry Bold 9780 yesterday. After re-booting the phone, my App World icon was suddenly missing from my home screen. It was not on my download screen. I could also find when you do a search for App World. I reinstalled from the Blackberry App World site. I always had the same problem. Then a friend suggested I have uninstall App World of settings: device: application management: Blackberry App World - and selecting delete in Options. I did this - and then re-installed App World AGAIN on my phone from the Web site. And the problem still persists. Do I really have App World on my phone or not? If I have it on my phone, how and where can I find the icon - so I can place on my home screen.

  • Install signed without App World App?

Is it possible or that it will be possible to install an application signed without App World on a device over the air (OTA).

Goal is to be able to send a version of the application that can get our servers, as we do now on handheld devices of beta-testers.

It is impossible for applications to load side right now. I don't think it would be too difficult to get regular users put up with command line instructions, but I know not it is not a flawless process (and may cause headaches) but it's just what works for now.

Hello and welcome to the community!

I suggest that you clear the cache of the AppWorld application:

    1. open the App World

    2. go to my world

    3. follow one (and only one!) of these steps:

    3. for the BB keyboard-oriented - hold down the ALT key and press on, in the sequence R, then S, then T

3B. for touch screen only BBs - hold the num-lock (! 123 button) so that it hangs and then press on, in the sequence 3, then 4, then)

    3 c for the most recent (e, g., OS6 and 7) BB s, see this KB:

    • KB24714 How to clear the cache of BlackBerry App World

    4 AppWorld must close

    5. If your BB locks after issuing clear cache, do a battery pull reboot

    6. return to AppWorld/MyWorld (it can be slow, while it re - sync).

If (4) stage arrives not as described, then the empty the cache failed.

I hope it'll work for you! Good luck and let us know!

  • Software for Smartphones App World blackBerry fails after upgrade

I updated my app world software.  Now when I open the program, it says that "an upgrade of the BB identity is necessary" and I would like to install it now.  When I click Yes, it is 'contact BB ID server 0'.  Then I get the error message 'identity BB installation failed, please try again later 8003' and the program stops.  This problem has existed for 3 days now.

    Hi all

I solved my problem.  I'm with vodascum on the prepaid, but I don't think it makes a difference.  I tried to delete the app in the world and install again - according to the employee of vodascum, that works.  There can be no.  What worked was disabling the network vodascum uncheck "mobile network" in the management of connections and activation "wifi".

My identity software installed in a Flash.

Therefore, I attribute this problem to a failure in South Africa.

  • BlackBerry smartphones can not download or install 'new' app version if on BB App World My app (as deleted / Archives)

If we compare the Blackberry App World website for local storm App World, the versions do not match.  Seems that I am obliged to "Reinstall" my 'old' applications previously deleted/archived compared to download and install the latest version.

    2 questions:

    1. When you reinstall an app to archive, the unit first checks to see if there is a newer version available for install?

    2. How can I install the latest version of an application if the old version is listed in Blackberry App World My (as deleted or archived)

    My example

I used QuickPull Lite on my Storm 4.70... QuickPull Lite version was 2.2.1.  I've updated my Storm to 5.0.  Now I want to install QuickPull Lite 3.5, but my only option via Blackberry App World My Storm is the 2.2.1 version.  Why can't I install version 3.5!  I need to install 2.2.1 then upgrade to 3.5?  What happens if the 2.2.1 is incompatible (with OS 5)?  Any ideas?

    Storm OS 5.0 (Verizon version)

    App World 1.1.0.20

    Thank you!

Hi and welcome to the Forums!

The list of applications that you see on this catalogue is the list complete and unfiltered applications for all BB models. The list that you see in the interface for device is filtered for your specific device model and the OS. So what you see in the interface for device is a subset - and it is they who are at your disposal. If a developer does not release an app/version for your device, it does not display in your device to AppWorld interface, although it has shown in the web catalogue.

I'd say go ahead and Unarchive/reinstall the earlier version. Then go to MyWorld and it will show you if there is an update... If so, update. Then, as the old version is now replaced by the new in MyWorld, you can still archive it like the old version will have been erased.

It it gives you problems, there are other tricks to try...

In some cases, it was discovered that updates (from got AppWorld apps) require additional steps in order to install the update. If the update will not install, please try this:

    1. Homescreen > Options > Advanced Options > Applications > highlight the app > BBKey > delete
    2. AppWorld > MyWorld > Login > highlight the app (if she shows at all, in any State) > BBKey > delete
    3. Use your PC (via the mass storage Mode) or your BB (via Media > BBKey > Explore) and find all references (folders, files) to the app delete everything you find. Search the memory of your device and your press card as well.
    4. Use this link to user guide AppWorld for re - install the app - then predict a new activation/registration key

    Hope that helps!

    Clear the application cache:

    1. open the App World

    2. go to my world

    3. for the BB keyboard-oriented - hold down the ALT key and press on, in the sequence R, then S, then T

    3. for Storm/Pearl - hold the num-lock (! 123 button) so that it hangs and then press on, in the sequence 3, then 4, then)

4A. If your BB locks after issuing clear cache, do a battery pull reboot

I hope something here get you again.

    See you soon!

  • BlackBerry smartphones can not install apps in App World

I recently changed my Blackberry ID email address via a web browser on my PC.  Changes, updates on my Torch 9850 and my Playbook.  I am able to connect on the site of Blackberry ID and my email address is confirmed.  I can't even change my password Blackberry ID of my devices.

When you try to install an application on the Playbook, I get the following error:

"Setup error: [0003-0006] there was a problem during the installation."  Please try again. »

On the Torch 9850, I can not install applications or even open up My World.  I get the following error:

"Blackberry App World is had problems connecting to the server Blackberry App World.  Check your network connections, and then try again. »

It has been several days since this occurring began.  I stopped by a corporate Verizon store on 2/26 and they seemed to think it was a question of RIM, but they don't seem to know much about Blackberry.

All the threads I found point to problems with the Blackberry ID, but mine seems to go well.

Does anyone have a solution?  Thank you.

Troubleshooting further with the support of the RIM has solved my problem.  Here are the steps I took to solve:

    1. Change my Blackberry ID email address to the address of origin of my flashlight.  I then have full access to App World through the torch, Playbook, and web browser.
    2. Created a new Blackberry ID with my new email address to confirm without isue with this address.  I was able to connect via the browser with the new account.
    3. I deleted the new Blackberry ID using the link in the email they sent me.
    4. Change my Blackberry ID email address to the new e-mail address using my flashlight.  The change has been accepted and spread to the Playbook.

I now have the new email address associated with my old ID and access of all devices.

Support said it should work the first time, even from the browser, and they will continue to try to reproduce the problem on their end.

If you have similar questions experiences, try the execution of all changes since the phone.

You need to post more details here... do you really what I asked to install again? or what?

If you have done this and still cannot find it, try to use your universal search at the top of your home screen icon... type App World.

    1. on your home screen, press Menu > SHOW ALL, so that ALL DISPLAY is checked.
    2. look in EVERY folder on your device... Applications, instant messaging, downloads, etc.
If you don't see it still, look at the Options > advanced > Applications. Do you not see it listed there?

What model of torch you have! If you encounter a problem with the update you can try to re - install BlackBerry World. For which first of all, go to Options > device > application > locate and remove BlackBerry World of this list.
