Persistent problem - monitor loses input DVI Signal then recovers

My guard monitor going off and then recover.   Message says "Display Driver stopped responding and then found - active VGA / input DVI - No Signal".  What does that mean?  Is the DVI Signal input signal high speed?   What can I do to remedy this?   Should I contact my broadband provider?

No, DVI is has nothing to do with your broadband - it's video cable between your PC and your monitor.

What is the brand and model of your graphics card?

Try to uninstall then reinstall the drivers of your graphics.

    Hi PaulYea,

    1. what type of Installation are you trying? It's an upgrade or clean Installtion?

    2. what happens when you connect to the system now?

    If you attempt an upgrade installation, then try the update the video card drivers and check:

  • No signal found by HDMI or DVI monitor. Monitor detects the VGA signal very well.

    That is the problem. I used to get a signal from the HDMI cable or the cable DVi on my old monitor.  Then, the signal was there sometimes, and then it isn't.  Now my new monitor does not have an HDMI or DVI signal.  He finds the signal to the VGA and that works.  Any ideas?  Myself and a few others have no idea on how to solve this problem >

    Hello, billiardsnut

    You use a DVI or HDMI adapter?

    Assuming you are using a straight DVI-> DVI or HDMI-> HDMI Cable, try to turn off the computer and turn off the monitor, connect the DV or HDMI, then turn them both.

    Some video cards will not dynamically change on its own, following the steps above will generally establish the proper output.

    In addition, since you mention on your old monitor that it is intermittent, it might be that the digital (DVI/HDMI) port on your graphics card is a failure.

  • U2414H - problem with DP and DVI dual monitor

    We recently bought 10 monitors x U2414H with 5 machines Dell Precision T1700 each with a Nvidia Quadro K620 x 2 GB graphics card (1 x output DP) and 1 x output DVI.

    When advised on these machines, we were also told to the DVI work with our monitor, we would need special cable conversion so learned the order of 5 x DisplayPort (male) to DVI - D (male) cable. At the time to take delivery of our new machines, it became that there was a problem with the configuration that we had been sold. When you connect the first monitor to the billboards on the graphics card, it works fine. However, the problem is when you plug the 2nd monitor, nothing is displayed when it is connected to the graphics card DVI port.

    We also called Dell technical support and our account manager to try to solve the problem and they suggested using a HDMI DVI-cables rather than the DVI cable to DP that we sold would not work because of the output frequency. After receiving the 5 x new DVI-cables HDMI question still exists and is no different from before. To remove the graphics card or DVI output being at fault we connected to another single monitor using a DVI to DVI cable and it worked.

    Reading through some of the similar positions, it seems that the monitor that we have been delivered is not the good revision number. I've seen a forum member Dell advises that the revision number should be REV A03 while we have been delivered REV A01.

    Any advice on what we should do to solve this problem will be greatly appreciated.

    EDIT: Added required information

    * What is the serial number of 20-digit alphanumeric monitor?
    CN - 03415 X-74261-4AT - 116L
    * What is the revision number (A00, A01, etc.)? A01
    * This specific computer model, portable office/computer? Dell Precision T1700
    * What operating system? Windows 8.1
    * Which video card? NVIDIA Quadro K620 2 GB graphics card
    * Which ports are available for the video card? 1 x DVI 1 x DisplayPort
    * Which video output port are you using video card for video on the port monitor? DVI to HDMI and DisplayPort / Mini DisplayPort
    * What cable are you using to set the video card to the monitor? DVI (male) to HDMI (male) & DisplayPort (male) to HDMI (male)

    If your Dell account manager allows it, go to the AMD over-pants W4100 would be a good step to solve this.

  • My screen goes black and I see "No signal", then it turns back on.

    I have a new laptop with dock at work. I am running Windows 7. For some reason, while I'm working, the monitor will freeze, go black, then come back. While the screen is black, I see cable DVI and VGM symbols, then the box that says "no signal". Then the screen will come back on. It's very frustrating because he'll do in any program that I am running, and he disobeys the consistent time or frequency. Anyone have any ideas on how to solve this problem?

    Something you can try, is to directly connect your monitor to the laptop and does not go through the docking station. This operation can take a piece of the puzzle of the equation.

  • Persistent problems with the Magic Mouse

    I have persistent problems with my Magic Mouse. He often stops followed (i.e. the cursor on the screen does not move when I move the mouse), or the input button on malfunctions (i.e. I don't click and drag, or cannot right click, or when I click on something and that you hold the button down it doesn't "stick").

    I called Apple and they took me through all the troubleshooting steps (reset the SMC, PRAM, etc.) and I finally get a new mouse. I got a new and have exactly the same problems!

    The ONLY thing that solved the problem by restarting the computer, or logging in and out. But the problem then begins again after anywhere from a few minutes to a few days (the most often within hours).

    Any ideas?

    Computer HP laptop 210-4150NR does not seem to run the monitor Apple Cinema 2004, with apparently correct adapter. Is this true?

    I see these adapters all the time and I can never make sense out of them. VGA is an analog and DVI is a digital signal, they are not compatible.

    Here's an example of what to, in this case, it only HDMI, but a converter for HDMI to DVI is also necessary for you Apple display, unless the monitor has an HDMI input.

    The only real difference between HDMI and DVI is that the DVI signal only carries the video, this is a very basic explanation.

  • Input DVI does not?

    Hello. I have my desktop connected via the VGA port. I am trying to connect my XBox 360 to the entrance with a DVI - Vga adapter DVI and vga switch xbox plug. When I turn on the XBox and try to switch to the DVI input, he says there is no input signal. No reason?

    A DVI port on a monitor must have DVI or HDMI as a source, a VGA source on an xBox will not lead the DVI input on monitor.

    VGA-> adapter-> DVI = No.

    DVI-> adapter-> VGA = OK

    There is only one monitor that HP has recently who would do what you want to do, and it's the w2558hc. This is the DVI input is DVI - I, all others are DVD - D.

    The extension Freeven pro is probably the problem. Only that disable and check again.

    If you have the same problem after having disabled the extension pro Freeven then, disable graphics hardware acceleration.

    You will have to perhaps restart Firefox for it to take effect, so save any work first (e.g. you compose mail, documents online that you are editing, etc.).

    Then perform the following steps:

    • Click on the orange top left Firefox button, then select the 'Options' button, or, if there is no Firefox button at the top, go to tools > Options.
    • In the Firefox options window, click the Advanced tab, and then select 'General '.
    • You will find in the list of parameters, the checkbox use hardware acceleration when available . Clear this check box.
    • Now restart Firefox and see if the problems persist.

    In addition, please check the updates for your graphics driver by following the steps in the following knowledge base articles:

    In safe mode hardware, acceleration is disable by default.

  • When I disconnect the monitor Samsung, laptop monitor loses the office.

    I use a laptop Toshiba Satellite L645-S4102.  I have been using an external Samsung monitor for a while.  I need to use the laptop for a presentation only.

    I can change to the screen of the laptop or use the Samsung monitor and the laptop monitor as long as my computer is connected to the Samsung monitor.

    But, when I disconnect the monitor Samsung, laptop monitor loses the shortcuts on the desktop and the taskbar and shows only the background.  I tried to restart the computer, but the same thing happens.  As soon as I reconnect the Samsung screen, everything happens very well again.  Ideas please.

    Start with the extra monitor connected and used.  Then go to your desktop and follow the instructions below:

    1. Click background, choose the resolution of the screen.
    2. In the graph at the top, click on your laptop screen (if you don't know who is who, click "Identify" and click the monitor displays on the screen of the laptop).
    3. Check the box "use as primary monitor" and then apply the change.

    The bar of tasks and other items still show on the main monitor, so this will ensure that your laptop screen is considered to be the main.

    If necessary (unlikely but it could happen), repeat these 3 steps again when the additional monitor is disconnected.

  • Problem with the input query mode. FRM 41009, 40301

    Hi all

    I have a problem with the mode of input query. What can I say, I'm in the mode of input query, and I click on a button. I get the error THAT FRM-41009 displayed.

    Now, I've wanted handled. So I created a trigger of error in order to handle the error.

    IF ERR_CODE = 41009 THEN
    NULL;
    END IF;

    A problem is that when you use the null value, it will not terminate the mode of input query, and then I get frm-40301 error.

    Second, it's that I can't use exit_form in a trigger of the error.

    I am aware that I can press F4 to exit this mode, but I don't want to do whenever I'm sure I'll get the user complaints.

    Another solution would be to put the following code in the trigger when key pressed for each button in the form:

    If: system.mode = "ENTER-QUERY" then
    exit_form;
    end if;

    But I don't want to reproduce this code in my form.

    Please can you give me an idea how to handle this correctly?

    Thank you
    Michael

    PS: Version of the form = > ORACLE FORMS 10g (Forms [32 bit] Version 10.1.2.3.0)

    I have a problem with the mode of input query. What can I say, I'm in the mode of input query, and I click on a button. I get the error THAT FRM-41009 displayed.

    What is the code in the trigger of your button When-Button-Pressed (WBP)? Maybe you should check to see if the form is in the Mode query in your WBP rather than try and remove the error? In other words, eliminate error - do not delete it. :)

    If you want instead to remove the error, there is a technique to built-ins call restricted to a trigger that does not allow them. Do this by the use of a millisecond zero Timer. For example:

    /* Sample On-Error Trigger */
    DECLARE
      n_err_cd   NUMBER := ERROR_CODE;
      t_on_error TIMER;
      ZERO  NUMBER := 0;
    BEGIN
      IF ( n_err_cd = 41009 ) THEN
        /* Create Timer to execute Exit_Form() */
        /* to Cancel Query-Mode. */
        t_timer := Create_Timer('ON_ERROR', ZERO, NO_REPEAT);
      ELSE
        /* Handle all other errors here... */
      END IF;
    END;

    /* Sample When-Timer-Expired Trigger */
    DECLARE
      v_Timer  VARCHAR2(30);
    BEGIN
      v_timer := Get_Application_Property(TIMER_NAME);

      IF ( v_timer = 'ON_ERROR' ) THEN
        /* Notice, the timer name is case sensative! */
        Exit_Form;
      END IF;
    END;

    I am aware that I can press F4 to exit this mode, but I don't want to do whenever I'm sure I'll get the user complaints.

    Well, it's just standard features of Oracle Forms. If you switch the Mode request form - you must run a query or cancel the query Mode! This is how it works. Your users need to understand that and accept it - just as they accept the functional also for other programs. ;) Another option would be to add a "Cancel request" button to your form and make it so it is enabled only when the form is placed in Query Mode. Just a thought...

    I personally prefer to prevent the occurrence of an error rather than remove the error. :)
    I hope this helps.
    Craig...
