Photography from the old iMac to a new iMac CC

Hello

I know this has been asked in many ways yet:

I have currently a 2011 27 "iMac with the original CC packing photography and I have a new iMac 27" retina - I know that you can not use migration assistant to move the CC but I want to use the wizard migration for everything else. " Could someone give me really clear and easy [I'm not a big geek] not of what I do to permanently remove CC so I can get then install failsafe.

Because I have a CC start plan there are at least 2 copies of Photoshop and Lightroom 3 copies on my old iMac [including an old copy of "standalone" version 4].

If I completely uninstall CC what happens to my settings, presets etc.?

I have a complete set of plug-ins from Nik/Google-how can I migrate these?

It all seems very daunting - it would be better to contact customer support?

Thanks for any help in advance

Leopold

You can use CC to install PS and LR on the new machine: https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/help/install-apps.html

  • Transfer of files from the old HARD DRIVE to new computer without an old computer. (He's dead - can not use) I have the hard drive, but need help to transfer my old files and settings.

    ·        My old Win XP computer died - it is completely unusable. I bought a new PC with Win 7 Pro and 1 TB. I still have the old HARD DRIVE (250 GB) which I have attached on the new computer using an external enclosure supports SATA drives. The external hard drive is connected to the computer in USB 3.0. I checked that the new computer can see the external hard drive. (I also used for backups by changing the hard drive with a 2 TB drive 'mass storage' - that works.)

I searched the internet for possible solutions and found no help. If the transfer of files from Microsoft would change the disc to analyze, it would be simple. But if I select the OLD computer it scans the disk I'm on (new) - automatically.

Is there anyone who has had the same problem? He must be because computers die all the time and people buy new computers - who then, somehow, they get the former transferred files. I could do it manually, but that wouldn't change the settings. Last resort would be to buy an old computer XP (SATA), replace the drive. Transfer the files, and then sell this computer.

You may be able to recover your data files, but I hope that you will set up your new system to automatically backup a second internal hard drive or an external USB hard drive.

This suggestion may not work, but it's worth a try. Buy an external USB drive enclosure. They come in two sizes 2.5 "for the portable computer drives and 3.5" for desktop disks. You can purchase adapters for 3.5 "envelopes so that they can also be used with a portable player. Place the hard drive in the enclosure and connect to a USB port of another computer. Several hard disks are more able to start, but the contents of the disc can still be accessed, read and copied from the disk because you do not use the operating system on a failed disk.

Here is an example of the type of device, I suggest:
    http://www.amazon.co.uk/s/?ie=UTF8&keywords=external+hardrive+enclosure&tag=googhydr-21&index=aps&hvadid=14388537836&hvpos=1t1&hvexid=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=556960941559985931&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=b&ref=pd_sl_32uorbwbuk_b

You need only to the speaker, that you see are not necessarily more expensive. Thereafter, you can put an old hard drive usable, an abandoned because you need a larger drive internal, in the enclosure and use it as additional external storage.

  • need to get my pictures off the coast from the old computer to my new on my lightroom, had to download lightroom with my serial number not the fact the new computer doesn't have a cd player

I fight with this forum, so if I keep asking the same question is because I'm not move here very well. I had to load my lightroom online on my new computer because I don't have a cd driver. Now that I've loaded it I need to get my photos on the old computer. Any ideas on how to do it, and I don't have creative cloud

    Hi tinap50,

You can use an external hard drive to get all the images from your old computer to the new, then import into Lightroom.

My hard drive crashed it wouldn't boot saying config.sys is damaged or corrupted, I tried to fix it but the sector is damaged. • How can I transfer or download my previous Adobe LR 5 from the old pc to my new?

    Hello

I bought originally (2010) LR 3 and I had the drive and the key and subsequently updated to 4 LR and now 5 but just changed my computer. I understand I could re-download the software from the Adobe site where I am registered but it doesn't seem to work.

Also, I tried to reload the LR 3 thought I could update to level 5, but it seems it is for me.

Now can I just copy it to USB or CD of the last LR 5 file and it goes well?

apply the same to the PS, which I don't use much, but...

Thanks in advance for the return flow

    Hello!

As far as I know that you must add the Group everyone in the folder options. Right-click on the folder-online security-online advanced-online (effective) permissions
There, you must add the user to the other laptop or for example all users. Then it should work.
I had this problem for 1 or 2 years and it worked for me.

A friend of mine told me that he was able to copy the data to a Linux system. You can start form a Linux boot CD/DVD, and then copy the data on the other PC.

    Welcome them

It is no different to transfer or copy the files to a disc to
another or from one folder to another in the same computer. Drag
and drop or cut and paste. If you don't know how to do those, post
    For more information.

    Hi Matthew Dragon,.

Thank you for visiting Microsoft Answers.

You can transfer data from one computer to another, but you can't transfer programs. Unless it's portable and requires no installation.

I suggest you to install the game in the new computer and copy the game files (including save game files) from your old computer and save it in the same place in your new computer.

Backup set files will be in the folder where the game is installed or in my documents.

  • Mail will not work after Migration Wizard from the old to the new iMac

A Migration Wizard transfer everything what a processor Intel Core Duo 2007 19 "an i5 2012 27" iMac iMac.  Everything worked fine EXCEPT Mail.  She appeared a dialog box for each account of email asking for passwords. When passwords were seized said each was wrong or does not match.  It still works fine on the old iMac with the same entered password and turned down on the i5. Why is this and how can it be solved?  The old iMac has been sold, so I have TO get the i5 27 "of work. Any ideas or help that can be given is appreciated.

Try this... In Messaging menu, choose Preferences > accounts > "enable this account" (top) and don't forget he is checked, if it is uncheck and save.

Back it up to an external USB drive. Then, connect the hard drive to the new Mac and restore your stuff in the same places where they came from. Make sure that the new admin account, you create the new Mac has the same user name and password that your the one used on the old Mac. This avoids issues with permissions on the data transferred.
