• Pix & Editor Photo Manager of LR etc.?

  I spent all my time to test recent editors of different photos - Raw processing, Lightroom, darktable, Capture One, Lightzone, Photoshop Elements, affinity, ACDC Mac Pro, DXO Optics 11 - on and on. Most of them is best editors (IMO) than pictures, but I prefer the ease of use and search for photo management. And since we now have two "extensions" and in particular the extension "External editors", I wonder why I should not simply use pictures for management and my 'catalogue' and some minor/quickie changes and exit to all others, I prefer to do more complex work.

  I mean, what's wrong with this picture? Photos is pretty quick and easy, good import, has a few basic changes, and fantasy guys are always more or less available, either by extensions (or some of them) and by export and re - import (even if it work you on duplicates, I suppose).

  Anyway, would love to hear from someone who has tried this or he tries now, how it worked, and what are the limits, what to watch out for, etc.

  That's what I've done since publishing extensions became available.

  My main reason to stick with Photos is iCloud photo library.  There is no other easy way to sync my library of Photos between multiple Macs.

  I found that I must not fall back on the Photo editing spotted too often. I'm careful to take my pictures so they don't need much editingbeyond straighten the horizon lsightly, cropping, perhaps to correct the white balance and adjust the highlights and shadows. Everything that can be done in pictures.

  I mainly use extensions or external for a correction of perspective editors, if it was not possible to take the picture with the correct perspective, for the smoothing of the skin and for touch-ups. I try to avoid extensions if mounting can be done in Photos, for two reasons:

  • Extensions create a new master file almost, like Aperture. Then they break up which edition.
  • And they are not yet as stable as I could wish. For example, extensions of affinity cannot edit some panoramic shots, they can reframe the edited section. And I often get an error message when I try to save the modified version - for affinity extensions and extensions site, for the most part, if I try to apply multiple extensions to the same photo.

  Creative Memories Photo Manager probably ejected your camera after you import the images. Check the default settings and change them if you prefer something different.

  If your camera is not displayed as ejection, it is safe to remove it. Damage to the file system wouldn't be possible, but not certain, if he had written active file or buffer not released when the device has been deleted.

  I still own LR. This is the feature of development is really superb. Much better than any tool PP, I have used in the past.

  A gap that I find with LR, however, is its photo management tool.  I used ACDSee Picture Manager, among other things, in the past, the management of photo in ACDSee was really good and intuitive. The following functions have been really practical in ACDSee that I find missing in LR.

  • Group (in addition to sorting) by almost any criteria - original date, day, month, camera, focal, etc..
  • Display a number any of attirbutes - camera, resolution, size, etc.
  • batch renaming practice
  • Travel and single copy

  As you can see, these are all file management functions. LR has these functions as well?

  If this isn't the case, maybe I'll have to use both tools after all - LR for development and ACDSee Photo Manager for managing files.

  Certainly, Lightroom is a photo management tool that compares well with ACDSee. There are probably advantages and disadvantages to each, but everything on your list is present in LR except display resolution (if by that you mean pixels per inch of the photo).

  4. Move photos is done via the Control Panel folder. LR does not copies, as the paradigm Lightroom does not make real copies. It includes no virtual copies. Of course, you can create copies via another tool, the file-> export. You can make copies in your operating system.

  But if you want LR to have the same flow of work/features/ease of use/etc, like ACDSee (or Bridge, Photoshop Elements or any other program), let's be honest, it's not. The programs work differently. You will need to learn the methods and mechanics of each program. Each has its advantages and disadvantages, and LR has a lot of 'pros' for its photo management tools.

• Slow to download photos to share album

  I created a photo album of 75 photos.

  Then, I chose to share this album to the iCloud as a shared library. I see that the library is created under 'shared' BUT zero photos are in. Do not #1.

  Y at - it another app that works better than the pictures, that we can use to manage the photos, because they took iPhoto and replaced it with pictures?  Is there a way just to import photos and save them to your computer in folders, as you would on a Windows system?   Go to the App Store and check out the shopping list. If iPhoto is there then it will be v9.6.1

  If it's there, then drag your existing iPhoto application (not the library, just the app) in the trash

  Install the application on the App Store.

  iPhoto, the application and the iPhoto library are two different parts of the iPhoto program. So, reinstall the application should not affect the library. BUT you should always have a back up before doing this kind of work. Always.

• Photos Manager MS left printing photos

  Hi, I am running Windows 7 on a relatively new computer (6 months) with a relatively new printer hp officejet 6500 also around the age of 6 months. Everything worked well, until about a week ago, when Picture Manager abruptly stopped, printing images. I need to print the thumbnails/contact sheet, but when I click on print, nothing happens. I checked, and the correct printer is selected. No printing problem all other programs (Word, Publisher, etc.) is of course not a problem with my printer. I even opened the photos in other MS photo viewers, but the same results when I try to print, because they seem to everyone use the same print window. I see that many other people seem to have the same question, and the only solution I found that worked was where someone downloaded a file more old printwiz.dll, (that I made from the provided link) but I don't have the slightest idea what to do with him because I'm not a geek (I mean that in the kindest terms!) I run defrag and 'detect and repair' in Picture Manager, but still nothing.

  One more suggestion...  Try to use bb::cascades:Invocation, which behaves more like the InvokeActionItem (making an independent invoke) that use InvokeRequest directly.

  Not able to share your photos of Photo on Facebook, email, etc. Was working fine until yesterday. Tried to share more older photos to Facebook and e-mail but I just an error message. All the photos are in the same format so ideas?

  I tried a few different things, but ended up talking to a Microsoft guy named Mathew. He was extremely helpful and patient, and after the download of many updates (67), the system seems to work very well. I don't know what the cause was but will present Bravo to Mathew to support tech Surface for its helpfulness and professionalism.
