• LR 2.3 freezes when importing from CF card reader photos

  We use LR for some time.  Repeatedly noticed when import a few hundred new photos than LR 2.3 will freeze for importing photos from a CF card reader (Lexar Professional Player and Lexar CF cards).  The computer must be rebooted which causes corruption catalogue and had to start all over again. I use an iMac (3.06 GHz Intel processor dual core) with 4GBs of RAM and 800 GB HARD drive.  All the operating system software are uptodate.  I was wondering if others have the same problem and what, if any, work arounds could be out there.  Adobe does not have this problem on their Web site.

  Image capture is an application that ships with Mac OS X. It can be used to control what happens during a reconnaissance of the card, but it is not necessary. I have my Mac configured to simply use Finder to copy maps, if for some reason, I use LR.

  I think that once you reformat your card, you may find LR will very well be important.

  I scoured the forums and have not found all messages dealing with this specific problem.

  My problem is that when I import an svg eps file converted to FM (I 7.2 and 8 - same behavior for both), it's completely invisible or I see only parts of it. I noticed that the changes I made to the artificial intelligence image after the conversion to SVG (via "save under") are still visible in FM after import, just not the original content that has been converted to eps (or others such as .dwg and .ai). I am part of a team writing technology and we all know the same behavior, is not an isolated event. I should add that the problem seems to be intermittent, or at least I've not noticed a pattern. It is or it isn't.

  Any idea of what this could be the cause? I am very new to SVG and relatively new both Illustrator and FM, so I missed something obvious. Any help or advice would be appreciated humbly. Thank you.

  The SVG import filter has been developed by Orbital Technologies for Adobe and converts the internal SVG FrameVector format. There has been a number of reports of flakey behavior and it seemed to suggest the grouped objects as a troublemaker as possible (something white when rendered transparent fill grouped).

  If you already have EPS files, then why are convert you to SVG for import in FM? DWG can be converted directly to PDF in new versions of Acrobat and these import properly in FM. In Illustrator, EPS recording will produce the best result on the FM band.

  Also, SVG is essentially dead in the water as far as Adobe is concerned. The new flavor is FXG (which is supposed to support Flash). See: http://www.mikechambers.com/blog/2008/09/30/why-adobe-chose-fxg-over-svg/ as to why Adobe chose FXG over SVG for future development.

  Is there a sort option near the bottom of the import screen. Have you tried different sort options that are available?

  Hi rsev,.

  For existing photos, select all your images in the grid view, and then click the Reset All button in the quick develop Panel. Then click on the auto tone button to correctly apply this feature.

  To prevent this from happening in the future, choose Lightroom > preferences > Presets (Mac OS) or edit > Preferences > Presets (Windows). Uncheck the apply auto tone adjustments.

  I tried to do a regular defrag of my C drive and received a message that there is Volume disk errors. The utility asked to reboot the system and clean the C drive. But when I access the defragment utility, drive C is not present there to use the application... suggestions?

  I suggest trying these steps provided below and check if the problem is resolved.

  Step 1:

  a. right click on the c drive.
  b. Select Properties.
  (c) under the Tools tab.
  d. Select Defragment now under defragmentation.

  Step 2:

  Try the SFC scan on the computer.

  SFC/scannow is a very useful command that you can use in any version of Windows. When the SFC (System File Checker) command is used with the/scannow switch, the tool analyzes all the important files of Windows on your computer and replace if necessary.

  I would ask my problem about the importation of datapump. I am importing a datapump having a significant size, I have to create a player card just for temporary storage. My problem is that I have a problem when importing from my dump (datapump) resides on a card reader. The errors are listed below.

  I just installed the latest version of Acrobat DC 2015-2015.010.20056 and ruler guides are not visible when chatting them the rule or moving them on the page. When is this corrected?

  This was recorded by one of your employees on forums like bug back in July 2015 and then was 2 updates since then. It is a big problem for those of us who use Acrobat on the Mac, especially when checking PDF files for production.

  In your first screenshot you are looking for in your user library

  In the second screen shot, look at the presets of the real photoshop application

  In the open dialog box, click Applications, then Adobe Photoshop CC > Presets

  Since your presets are already in the photoshop presets folder, you be able to load them into the list of Brush in photoshop instead having to use Open (load or replace).

  

• Help. URGENT error 'no photo not found to import.

  I work on a program of commemoration and urgently need to import the scans and other images with different dates of creation, an external drive in LR2. Each time, by all means import, I get an error 'no photo not found in import' but three of 82 photos I need. The three that matter successfully are digital photos were taken the same day, a date which seems to be randomly dates different probably 15 or 20.

  I tried several options "File management" and "copy to: / users/name/Pictures" and "arrange by date: [date] ' and various other combinations.

  How can I solve this problem? I'm not new to Lightroom, but I've never had this problem before. A number of other users having the same problem, I saw in the forums. In each case, the problem is not resolved or if it was, I was unable to track a solution for the glitch that I am experiencing.

  It seems to me that Import should not be so difficult for any help is welcome!

  Huge means more than 65,000 pixels on a side, which I doubt you have.

  You have all the strange characters in filenames - i.e. non-alphanumeric ones?

  I use CC/creation of Lightroom clouds for several months now and no problems. All of a sudden I get a message saying that the file I am trying to import my SD card could not be read, so I'm unable to import new photos in my catalog. I was importing images using the same SD card and the camera without any problems in the past. I use Mac OS X El Capitan. Any ideas? Thank you.

  The most common cause of this error is a lack of privs to WRITING on the destination folder. Using the Finder, make sure that you have READ and WRITE privs on your destination folder tree.

  Hi - for some reason, files of my card SD imported into lightroom, but referencing only the SD itself card and as files within the usual on my macintosh HD library, of course, when I eject the SD of my iMac, lightroom do not know where the files are more. I tried to delete LR and re-import but the same thing happened. I also saved the DCIM folder on desktop and tried to import from there, but again, it is important files directly to my address in LR, which means that I have to keep my SD card. I use LR for a while and this is the first time that this has happened. I imported the files to another SD card later and everything worked as it should. I really want to make sure that my original files are where they should be on the hard disk and in LR, so I can safely eject my card and not to lose my files. Can someone tell me how to go about this please?

  When you perform the import, you must select the COPY option, and under the Destination on the side right, you must select a location on one of your hard drives.

  Just installed LR3 with Santa. Have been going through the videos and the Lightroom_3_Help PDF and PDF of Lightroom-GettingStarted_Lo but I can not understand how to remove files from the gitgo simply importing from an SD card or from my HARD drive (files already moved on the HARD drive but not yet slaughtered or imported into LR3). I was hoping that I could, at the LIBRARY, just r/c on a file that isn't obviously useful to keep and just remove it so I mustn't do it later. Looks like I could, thus, be able to focus more on the shots requiring a change.

  Also, need suggestions as to how I would like to import my files using the DNG, Copy, Move, or Add. First off, I'm not a pro at work but am an occasional serious amateur. I'm picky and I like things look the first time and I like options.  The pix already on my HARD drive is in the IMAGES folder. those that are imported from the SD card are transferred to the PHOTO folder. I have, in the past, moved the verssions transformed to another DESTINATION folder - now I still have the originals and I've dealt with copies to show and share.

  I understand that LR3 don't ND edition but I guess that if I don't keep a DNG so anytime I want a JPEG or PNG image that I open LR3 to make a. Since I've been taking a few hundred pix per year (although this will change with my new D5000) I won't load to the top of my HARD drive any time soon. So, is there a way I can make a DNG file, keep the original RAW or JPEG file AND save a JPEG or PNG copy turned in my DESTINATION folder in one swell foop?

  There is no need to delete the source; Select the photos you want to copy the source into your library and apply metadata and keywords that apply to all, then back up the photos that are now in the library, and then only have to format the SD card. Using this method, you will never have to worry about the photos of the source should be deleted, you simply focus on which those that are imported. Your also always make sure to have two copies of your work at all times and consider make a third copy you should kee off site to maximize the availability of your data disaster (and don't foget the catalogue Lightroom itself!).

• Images not showing Up when importing from another photographer catalog

  I am an editor for a wedding photographer and I had this problem happens often, and I don't know what is the cause. I can see all the information behind the image, the ranking and if there is no previous editing on it, but the image itself is not displayed. The photographer sends on the catalogue, forecasting and intelligent preview. There are moments that all transfer perfectly and other times the images are not there.

  We tried to delete everything on both ends and start making sure that everything is done correctly, but it still happens. I tried to discuss with the support, but they have not been able to help. Whenever this happens, I lose money because I can't be their editor. We have both the most recent LR so it's not the question.

  How we are currently transferring Weddings:

  She takes is export as catalog with preview and intelligent preview. Once it's she will post the three files (catalogue, smart overview and overview) on Dropbox and sends them on. When I get it, I download the catalog of smart zip preview and preview of the zip. Once downloaded, I extract the prediction and intelligent preview. Can I go to file > import from another catalog... I click on the catalog file and select choose.  Sometimes it works and other times it does not.

  What we're doing wrong?

  

  OK, so after talking with Adobe on two different days, then post it here, I called Adobe and they set about 5 minutes. Here's what he once let him access my computer...
