Updates, backup

I'm working on an old computer with Windows Vista.  I have about 20 updates that have backed up before January 16.  I tried to update several times, even one at a time.  Even this does not work.

Most of the records, including a 14.3 MB, is for Internet Explorer.    I don't have enough memory as it is.  How can I get rid of these updates does not work.

I have a new computer, but am not confident enough in Windows 10 again to turn it off.

I'm sorry. I'll try my luck for the few weeks I have left on this computer. I can't do that more.

OK, it's your computer if it is your choice, too. That being said...

You can get Premium Microsoft-sponsored (i.e., paid) support through the Office of response-online http://answerdesk.microsoftstore.com

IMHO the computer must NOT be connected to the internet or local area network (i.e. other computers) in its current state. All business & personal data (including passwords online banking & credit) must be considered at risk, if not already compromised.

Good luck!

In Windows XP Pro, whenever an update from windows update has been installed, a backup file was created (example: C:\WINDOWS\$NtUninstallKB977816$) is it a similar backup with windows file 7 about the update of windows, and if so, can it be deleted once it is established that the MS security update is successful?  Thank you, Sam.

Folders that have uninstall as part of the name (for example $NtUninstallKB282010$ who reside in C:\windows (hidden files) are window Hot difficulty updating folders/files) can be removed safely (providing ever, you wish to uninstall the updates). I recommend you leave these records for a period of at least one month to make sure that the update works correctly.

These updates can be removed individually or together. To learn more about the update/s go on:

  • Error in RMAN gradually update backups

    Dear all,

I am now facing a very strange situation. I made backups gradually updated in my production environment. What follows is the rman script stored in my catalog:
    retrieve the copy of the database with the tag 'incr_backup' until ' SYSDATE - 7';
tag backup incremental level 1 'incr_backup' to retrieve the copy with the tag "incr_backup" database.

And I leave the window default as recovery 'CONFIGURE the RETENTION STRATEGY to the RECOVERY WINDOW OF 30 DAYS' in rman because we would like to be able to step back and send it within 30 days.

Everything works very well in the first ten days and on the seventh day, the recovery seems to work. All of a sudden, the eleventh day retrieve it doesn't work any more which complains that "no copy of the datafile 1 found to recover." It seems that the copy of the data file is not found. I checked it, and they are always available on catalogue. Totally, I lose myself. Does anyone face the similar problem? I think I need help.

    Kind regards
    Lik

N ° if you assign to redundancy 1 RMAN will retain all the incremental backups that are needed in order to meet the deadlines of ' sysdate-30'.» RMAN interprets this set of incremental backups as a SINGLE logical unit, then the redundancy 1 is correct. Incremental backups are no longer needed (more than 30 days) are removed from the set, when you issue "delete obsolete.

  • My windows xp home will not install IE8, SP3, updates, backup NT FixIt it or format partition. It is part of a home network.

The computer has XP Home. It is an older machine, 266 Celeron, 2 GB of Ram that I built a few years ago. It is part of a home network. It has not been updated for a while so I decided to install SP3, updates, IE 8, BackupNT off CD, FixIT and Partition & Format 2 more large players. It wouldn't install them or partition or format the disks again.  It is clear that I have no idea.  Mike

    Hello

What is your level of service current pack? Click right my computer, click Properties, on the general tab, he says.

If this isn't SP1A or SP2 you will not be able to install SP3. You will first need to install SP2.

How you try to install the SP3? Stand-alone package or Windows Update?

I must say that I'm not sure why you are unable to install, for example, NTBackup. As said by Harish B N, we need more information about the error you get.

  • My PC crashed. Restored on a new record and a new installation of FireFox. I can still access all the files. How do I take the old bookmarks if there is no backup?

My PC crashed. Restored on a new record and a new installation of FireFox. I can still access all the files on the old drive. How do I take the old bookmarks if no backup exists, or has been completed? Does not save bookmarks of FireFox auto? If, then what is the file name and where is normally stored by FireFox?

In fact, it can be easier...

If you have the old drive connected as, say, drive E, go to:

    E:\Users\username

Then click in the address bar and paste it after this and press ENTER to open it:

    \AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles

Normally, you have only one file, which has a random string followed by "default." In this case, click on this file and find the subfolder bookmarkbackups.

If you find multiple profile folders, look inside to find the most recently updated backups.

  • My playlists are missing in 12.4.0.119 new update

My playlists are missing in 12.4.0.119 new update.  Is there a way to recover them?  Thank you.

ITunes update process can sometimes result in a database of missing or damaged, - it has been a problem persisting through multiple releases of iTunes.  I'm not aware of a definitive conclusion about why this happens, although an "educated guess" suggests that there may be a conflict between the iTunes update processes and other software - anti-virus tools and Windows service own indexing are possible suspects.

You can recover your library before update as follows:

    • Make sure that Windows displays file extensions
    • Navigate to your folder of iTunes (default C:\Users\username\Music\iTunes) library
    • Rename the existing iTunes Library.old iTunes Library.itl
    • Go to the previous iTunes Libraries folder
    • Find the file iTunes Library yyyy-mm - dd.itl most recent - this must be the date on which you have installed 12.4.0
    • Copy this file to the folder of iTunes library
    • Rename copied file iTunes Library.itl
    • Your library - restart iTunes should now be restored.

You're lucky that the latest update to iTunes, including a change to the structure of database - this is what triggers the creation of a copy of the database update of the library in the previous iTunes Libraries folder, so you will be able to return to the State of your library immediately before installing 12.4.0.  In general, I would recommend that you always make sure that you have a fully updated backup of your library before you install any update.

For more information, see user turingtest2 on the empty/corrupted after upgrade/crash iTunes library.

It is not possible to switch from XP to Windows 10. You must do a clean install.

Also note that your hardware isn't compatible with Windows 10, and if this is the case, it can only run Windows 10 with poor performance.

One last point: you need Windows 10 drivers for some of your hardware, and they are not available.

I must point out that Vista can update itself, I get the updates without problem.  I also use internet and outlook without problem, so I know that I'm connected to the internet.

I had problems in the past with some other updates (AVG Free, Ad-Aware) being unable to load.

    Thank you!

I saw someone else having the same problem and they have changed the parameters concerning the Scheduler and worked. Have you tried to change the automatic Scheduler settins. Make sure that there is a control in automatic mode.

    Hello klmorgan-Office [365].

Your question about the Microsoft community received a response from Canadian technology.
Title: updates - stuck Win 7

    Response
Fix tetraethyle3, but I would advise Windows Update service be stopped and a reboot occur in addition to the definition of never.
Many of us have worked on a better set of instructions.  I'll include it here. Feedback is more than welcome...
    August 18, 2016
Windows Update has become very problematic for users of Windows 7.  During the past year, we have worked to find a solution that works for you.  We found one that works very well for most.  We know that for some it works well for August 2016 until 2 September Tuesday, known as Patch Tuesday.
We hope to update for September.
We emphasize that, to do this, you must follow exactly as described.
There are two main types of installations of Windows 7: 32-bit or 64-bit.  You know what is installed on your computer.  Click on the globe start, type in the box system. Choose system information in the list.  The abbreviation for technology for 32-bit is x 86 and 64-bit x 64

    1. Start Windows Update, and change the setting for never to find updates. We recommend that you only keep this setting.  Then Windows Update will be automatic.  From there, you are responsible for departure and the installation of updates.  We recommend to you a few days after the 2nd Tuesday of each month.
    2. The process begins by ensuring that there is nothing running that will prevent the update to work correctly.  Click on the globe to start and type services in the text box.  Click Services in the list that appears.  In the window that appears then (its alphabetical), find Windows Update.  Right click on it (left click if your mouse is set for left-handed people), and then choose stop.
    3. Restart your computer.
    4. You will now download and install manually updates one or two.  In most cases, only the first (KB3172605) is required.  If that produces a result that indicates the update is not suitable for your computer, you must first install the 2nd day of these (KB3020369), and then install the first (KB3172605).  Choose one that is for your machine - 32-bit (X 86) or 64-bit (X 64).

    1. After rebooting your computer, wait for about 10 minutes until that Windows Update performs its tasks.  Do not use the computer for other purposes during this waiting period.
    2. Start Windows Update.  It will take that a few minutes to come up with a list and download updates you select.  The process is quite normal because it was always from that moment.

If your computer has not been updated for a long time, it may take longer.
