Photosmart B110e: Photosmart B110e print only in black after reset

Because one of the rolls were filled with black color and then influenced the paper with the black dye, I decided to disassemble the machine to the roller cleaning and cleaning mechanism on the right side. Now black print is ok, but cyan, magenta and yellow was very low. I tried to clean the printheads several times, but apart from that I have spent a lot of ink, it has changed nothing.

Since I'm sure that the machine's physical in order, I thought that the whole system may have to be reset. Here I could have made a big mistake. I chose to do a total of redefinition and now color cartridges apparently not activated.

There are brand new original HP cartridges in the machine, but I confess that I sometimes used without originality. The problem with discoloration of the paper began, when using non original cartridges. Them I'm not going to spend more, but I would like to have the colors in return.

What should I do when I have more cartridges that accompanies when I bought the machine?

You may need a full set of cartridges of installation, or a new printhead. In my view, that a new printhead comes with cartridges installation, but honestly, if I were in your position, I would consider a newer printer.     You want to disable automatic session opening, which may be why it behaves in this way.

    Go to System Preferences

    Go to security

    Under "for all accounts on this computer", place a check mark next to 'turn off automatic connection.

    In addition, I do not know if you set a password for the test account, but put something simple as 123 - just something / anything.

    Once that is done, choose log in the Apple menu, or reboot. This should bring you to the login screen where you can specify the account to enter.

    I see that you would like to know how to print with just the black cartridge, save the color for color printing cartridges.
    I would like to help.

    I understand your frustration, I don't really. However, this printer uses same color inks when printing in black only. If run out you of color and kept black printing only, you provoquerez problems with the print head. It is the the user guide for your printer, refer to page 148. Series of all-in-one Photosmart HP 3300

    You can have a setting in the print driver to print in grayscale, which uses fewer colors.

    Application, go to file, print to display the print screen. Here is a screenshot where to access the settings of the print screen driver. Then you can save the setting as a preset.

  • HP Deskjet 3050: deskjet 3050 does not print the JPG files in color - all other documents are printed only in black and white

    I have a problem with my Printer 3050 Deskjet. (USB connected with my laptop).

    My printer does not print documents colors in color, but only in black and white (with the exception of JPGs (photographs) which are printed in color.

    Word or PDF documents (for example) are always printed in black and white - even if they are in color.

    Copy of pages in color on my printer is not a problem.

    This works perfectly well. The printer is connected to my PC via USB.

    Cartridges (color and black and white) are practically new and original HP cartridges.

    Could the problem be associated I could have changed by accident print settings.

    Hi Cheticamp,

    In controlling panrl → devices and printers.
    Right-click on the printer and select Printing Preferences.
    Cot the Advanced button and make sure that grayscale printing is set as stop and confirm.

    From within Word, click file > print and click settings.
    You will see the screen Lady printing preferences.
    Press Advanced Options and check the optio grayscale is set as off for Word as well.

    While printing in black is only an option when the color is low, it is blocked once a cartridge is exhausted.  You will need to replace the depleted cartridge. Page 94 of the said the manual here:

    Printing in black ink or color only

    For regular use, this product does not print using only the black ink cartridge when the color cartridges are out of ink. However, your printer is designed to allow you to print as long as possible when your cartridges are starting to run out of ink.

    When there is enough ink in the print head, printer will offer you the use of black ink only when one or more cartridges color is out of ink and color ink usage only when the black cartridge is out of ink.

    • The amount that you can print using the black or color ink is only limited, so the available spare ink cartridges when printing in black ink or color only.

    • When it is no longer sufficient ink printing, you will get a message from one or more cartridges are exhausted, and you need to replace the depleted cartridges before you resume printing.

    HP and other printer manufacturers have technology another printer for different needs.  For ink jet printers:

    • Some have integrated into the ink cartridges print heads.  These printers can print generally with one or more of the colors completely empty, or even with color or black cartridges (but not both) removed. The 8040 a Officejet is an example.
    • Other printers have separate replaceable printheads and inks.  An example would be the printer Officejet Pro 8600.  In these printers print head can be replaced if they are damaged by running the printhead with colors off.  Some of these printers allow printing with a color, the other will not.  If the printer is run without ink in one or several colours, the printer may be damaged, but the user may be able to recover without having to send to the printer for the service.
    • Other printers have permanent print heads.  To run only those without little ink in all colours would risk causing damage to the print head because of clogs, air ingested in the printhead or grilled printhead resistances of shooting. The Officejet 6700 is an example of this type of printer. For printers with fixed print heads that could require the service to get the printer to print properly again when the ink is finally replaced.

    The document described here how the ink is used.  The document is written for inkjet printers HP the same principles apply to printers inkjet from other manufacturers.

    If you do ever print color laser printer would probably be a better choice.  If you occasionally print color but especially black a HPI printer as those in the first category above can be a good choice.

    When I select 'black fast project only', I get a printing color. I replaced the black cartridge and the test print just fine. So everything I do or try, can't do the printer to print black scale and Yes more, I have this default :-).

    I use OS X 10.9 Mavericks.

    Driver software & installed properly.

    Please advice. I have about 400 slides to print for studies and most of them is color pdf, it's expensive to print in full colour.

    Welcome to the Forums of HP Support! I see you try to print in black and white for your Photosmart HP 6520, but since I use Mavericks even if you have defined, printing prints always in color.

    I would like that you do the following:

    Reset the printing system

    1. click on the Apple icon and then click on System Preferences.

    2. in the hardware section, click Print & Fax/scanning. Dialog Print & Fax/scan opens.

    3.right - click (or Ctrl + click) in the left panel, and then click Reset printing system...

    4. click OK to confirm the reset.

    5 type the name and the correct password.

    6. click OK to reset the printing system. The Print & Fax dialog box shows any selected printer

    Note: This will remove all printers in the print and Fax/Scan, any printer deleted can be re-added later by clicking the sign plus (+) symbol.

    Now go ahead and add the printer to the back and continue here: OS X Mavericks: set the print options

    You are now able to print without color? I'll watch for your reply.

    I have changed black only, now cannot retrieve colors. Forgotten what I've done, so any help appreciated.

    In the printing preferences: -.

    1 Advanced color settings set to '0 '.

    2. choice of color - print in grayscale - 'unchecked '.

    3. within the framework of advanced document - print all text in black: (disabled)

    These measures appear to be in place. Have you, you click on apply after you have changed these settings.

    You can try uninstalling and reinstalling the software and drivers. This will reset all back.

    I have a mac.  My photosmart 309 c has suddenly will not print or copy of black ink.  I cleaned the print heads, tried to align (not that), went out & soak the cartridge printing and eventually replaced w / new black ink.  Still nothing!  When I print, I get a black ink when I try to align, but nothing.  Color will print.  Same problem when I try to copy - no black but will get color.  What should I do?

    I finally had time today to try the method of back.  It worked!

    I took out the print head, continually ran hot water into the Pan so that the water has never been dirty (about 1 inch of water), has run a small flow of water in the black on the top screen that I determined that I had nothing to lose, gently dried the electrical parts and put it immediately into.  Turned on the printer, he crossed the alignment, etc. and printed black (and colors).  Just copied too dark.  It took me about 10-15 minutes for the whole process.

    Thanks to their participation in Forums of HP! I see by your post that the complete documents are not printing from different applications. I will definitely do my best to help you.

    Try a self-test printing material in order to exclude a hardware problem: print a Network Configuration Page.

    If you haven't already done so, repair the permissions of the drive on the Mac:

    • Repair disk permissions:

      • Click on your desktop so that it is written next to the Apple Finder icon, and then click Go (you'll see it next to the Finder after file, edit and view).

      • In the context of Go, click Applications.

      • In Applications, select utilities.

      • In the Utilities folder, you will see the disk utility, double-click on this icon to open the disc utilities.

      • Click on your hard drive, and then click first aid. Click Run to allow it to run.

    Reset the printing system:

    Note: This will remove all printers in the print and Fax/Scan, any printer deleted can be re-added later by clicking the sign plus (+) symbol.

    Click on the Apple icon and then click on System Preferences.

    Click on Printers & Scanners.

    Make a right click (or Ctrl + click) in the left white side panel, and then click Reset printing system.

    Click OK to confirm the reset.

    Type the name and the correct password.

    Click OK to reset the printing system.

    Then click on the sign to add the driver, highlight the printer +. (you may need to click the drop down menu to select the name of the printer) Then click the Add button.

    Let me know how recorded the name of the printer in the Printers & Scanners window.

    You are right. This printer does not the ADF duplex scan. It will print a copy of the 2 sides but the face page of the first page front and back on the face of the first page printed copy pages and page of the face of the second duplex page on the back of the first page printed from copy. What a waste. Well, I need now to decide if I want to keep this printer or send it back since it's the LPB brand.

  • Photosmart D5460: Printing of documents (black) always comes the color (black) cartridge No Doc blk cartridge.

    Everything I print from this machine's documents in black.  It has five ink cartridges grouped as; three colors and black, all the same size and a single larger black cartridge placed a bit far with the other four.  Print quality is good, but the machine STILL uses ink fron the small black cartridge in the color group.  I've never had to replace the large black cartridge, only the small number of times.

    So my question; Why doesn't big get used for documents and small black format only for color work?  Although this seems logical, I can't find anything that says that's how it should work or options to make it work this way.  Help!

    The little black is probably the Photo ink cartridge (which has a symbol of camera on him). Your configuration is likely to print in color or grayscale, so the printer will mix all the colors to black. Please try the following configuration (for Windows):

    (a) double-click the desktop printer icon.
    (b) click on set preferences.
    (c) click on Advanced (can be buried in the quality tab).
    d select "Black ink" only for printing in grayscale
    e click Ok /apply .

    Thanks for your help.  I downloaded and reintall the Photosmart but software that does not solve the problem.  I had the same problem on my desktop and portable computers.  I rebooted the Photosmart on the laptop software and still had the problem.  On both computers, I used HP Photo & Imaging Software version 1.1 that came with the printer.  I tried printing the photos 4 x 6 on the laptop using the software provided with Windows and it printed OK.  I then tried printing on the desktop (which I had not reinstalled the Photosmart software), and also print 4 x 6 photos correctly.  So I think that the problem was in the HP Imaging software and not with the printer or the printer software.

    When you use ePrint, the message will always print before all attachments. That is how it is set up to work. You can check the HP ePrint home & Biz app. It is a free application that will allow you to print when it is connected on the same network as the printer.  When outside of the network printer you will still need to use ePrint.
