Encrypt a local backup question

I connected my iPad to a new laptop computer to save for the first time. I previously backed up to a PC and icloud. On the new laptop on the local backup key Encrypt and I am asked for a password. As far as I know that I didn't put a password like on my PC I do not encrypt. Any ideas as to what I can do, please?

According to Apple:

There is no way to recover your information or disable backup encrypted if you lose or forget the password.

    Thank you.

Please note: Dell DataSafe Local Backup 2.0 is not offered through my Dell downloads. and it's not offered on the normal drivers and updates web page. Thank you.

I just finished a "chat" with Dell technical support, and I got my answer:

As I suspected, Dell licenses this software (possibly from Symantec) and Dell license does not allow to offer the software separately from the download of the factory. Therefore, if DataSafe Local Backup not shipped with your computer, you may not get it.

The version of DataSafe Local Backup included with the download of the factory is fundamental; There are two additional versions: Pro and RAID1. Neither one is free, but you might be able to buy from Dell.

    Questions 1)

Not because the LRDATA file is fair previews, what LR displays on your screen for a faster loading of the image and will be recreated. The previews only stored in the folder LRDATA is the basic overview created at time of importation for the display of thumbnails and previews of 1:1 for images that you have actually looked in the Loupe View or I guess that appears in the develop module.

He get all the data to create the image themselves file extracts.

If you have several files on your system that have pictures in them and you select one of them that you have not looked at in a while, you will notice LR creation of previews for these images, there will be 3 white dots in the upper right corner of the thumbnail. It's LR creation of previews for the thumbnail view. If you scroll quickly in the grid view, you'll notice a few thumbnails of images are gray, until you stop scrolling, then the upper left tile will come in clear view and the white dots will appear on the other images. It's LR creating previews for those of other images. Once LR created the preview of thumbnails that are on your screen, white spot will disappear. If you scroll down again, you will see more white dots

If you switch to another folder that LR begins again create preview images in this folder. The total number of previews created and stored based on caching of the preview you have in the catalog settings dialog in the management of the files tab.

If not, you need not the LR Previews.lrdata folder. Whenever LR is not very good this folder with a catalog he recreates it to store previews in.

  • [SOLVED] How to disable Dell Datasafe Local Backup

The "Dell Datasafe Local Backup" program that appears in the status bar system on new Dell computers is not started in one of the methods traditionally used in Windows.  For this reason, the right way to prevent it from running at startup is not known, and most of the advice I found on the Internet suggests to uninstall the program completely, either intentionally it paralyzes by moving, deleting, or renaming one or the other files or folders it uses.  Instead, the right way to turn it off is to turn the "SoftThinks Agent Service" using the services Control Panel - specifically, by changing the startup type for this service of "Automatic" (delayed start) on "manual".  I'm posting this info here in the hope that other people will benefit from this information, and to stop the proliferation of bad advice such as what I found by searching for my solution.

Your solution is much appreciated.  I do not use the Dell DataSafe local backup, and it seemed to bog down the boot process.  Thank you.

  • How to re - import a local backup mail folder?

One of my folders mysteriously disappeared them. I restored from a .sdb file backup (a few days), to its location of origin under C:\Users\User\AppData\Roaming\Thunderbird\Profiles\dwfdwd65.default\Mail\Local records. But how do I make it appear in the local TB folders?

I see similar questions in the forum for the IMAP folders, but no facilities.

    Your help appreciated

    C:\Users\User\AppData\Roaming\Thunderbird\Profiles\dwfdwd65.default\Mail\Local files.

    Senario:
If you added a file called "Clients.sbd" directly in the account of 'Local folders' in the profile folder.
Should a mbox file called "Customers" and indexing a file called "Clients.msf" in the same place - note them part must be spelled exactly the same as the name of the folder .sbd 'Clients '.

To get a file 'Customers' in the local folders follow these steps:

    In thunderbird
Right-click on "Local folders" and choose: 'new folder '.
    type the name: customers
Create a subfolder under "local folders".

This will create the mbox as 'Clients' file and also the file "Clients.msf".
    Close and restart Thunderbird.

So did discover the "Clients.sbd" which I assume also contains a load of subfolders in the form of files?
Into account the local folders of Thunderbird, it must display the subfolders in the folder "customers".

  • Text backup question / deleted

I accidentally deleted one of my iPhone SMS 6 Plus.  They always show on my iMac and iPad but I fear when an AutoSave occurs, it will back up the iPhone and remove them to two other devices. What will happen?  I use iCloud if that makes a difference.

    Hi melissahh625,

I understand that you have questions about your messages deleted on different devices. I know that it is important to have a handle on your data, so I'm happy to help you.

When you receive messages, they are stored on different devices. This means that when you delete a device they will not be deleted on the other. This is the case, even if one of your backup devices to iCloud that these backups are specific to devices, as well.

I just bought a laptop HP dv6 with Windows 7 64 bit.  He came with system partitions and hard disk recovery.  Once I set it up the way I want I want to use the Windows Backup and Restore utilities to create the System Image and DVD repair system.  My questions are: 1) since there are already partitions on the hard drive, is there something I should be concerned or even before that I have to create DVDs?  (2) after the creation of Windows DVD won't recognize the partitions on the hard drive?  Thank you.

I recommend that you create a system image on an external hard drive instead of DVD. The disk and its partitions uses a lot of DVD if it's the medium of your choice. DVD is not as reliable as external drives. There are free programs like Macrium reflect Free edition which allows you to create a clone of your hard drive with all partitions.

Make a clone will have no effect on your current plan of the original score. Windows will always recognize the partitions. If you want to keep the function F11 Recovery Manager does not change the partition scheme. You can also access the Recovery Manager through the recovery media that you have created.
