Picture loses art filters in Lightroom

Shooting with a RAW PEN - F + LJeg, the art filters are fun to use, but when I import the image in Lightroom, the filter effect does not come more, am I missing a setting or how should I deal with it?

Appreciate any help

Brian

If these art filters are in camera filters Lightroom will not be able to demonstrate that the filter to the raw image. All manufacturers of digital cameras create their own unique raw file format. Adobe creates support according to the common parameters. Art filters are unique to your camera and will not be supported in Lightroom. JPEG images, however, should show the effect of the filter. If there is the software supplied with the camera that does not read filters of raw images, you can use this software to create TIF images which could then be exploited using Lightroom.

  • Problems to import photos with the Olympus EP1 art filters?

I just purchased Lightroom 2.5 to work with my Oly PE1. I used 2 aperture for a few years with my Oly E3 before getting the Oly PEN, so I have no experience with LR.

So... when I import my pictures from the camera in LR, the RAW files appear, but I can't access the companion JPEGs I've shot using the art filters. I admit willingly I don't know LR - I have a reference book on order - if I'm doing something obvious and easy to fix? Maybe a wrong setting that I don't know everything?

In the preferences / Import, klick JPEGs to treat next to raw as separate photos files, then you will be able to see RAW and JPG with the same base name as part of the separated achievable in LR.

  • The pictures 1.0.1 to Lightroom migration path.

I migrated opening for Photos, but I am satisfied with all of the features.  Is there a pictures 1.0.1 for Lightroom migration route where I can keep my files and projects.  Unfortunately, I've added several projects/folders since my initial migration.

    Hi mfeilinger,

From now there is no Plugin to import the photo library in Lightroom.

However, you can export the images of Photos and then import them into Lightroom.

It seems that the first line of defense is to turn off the GPU processing in Lightroom preferences. This helps for many users.

  • Best way to import pictures library (no iPhotos) in Lightroom 6

I'm interested in Photos on Mac switching to Lightroom. In my view, there an import of iPhotos library plugin, but no import photo library plugin. Is a plugin to import of Photos under development? Or is there something else I should use to move Photos into Lightroom? My pictures are on my hard drive, not on iCloud.

  • Stacking of the predefined filters in Lightroom 4?

Is it possible to superimpose filters preset on the photos?

I remember in Lightroom 3, you can select some filters, like the cool tones, then select another filter and apply on top of the cold tone filter.

Now, it seems in Lightroom 4, whenever you select a filter, it completely replaces all previous settings. There is no work around?

    Hi Kumarious,

A bit of a bump, I downloaded 3.3 for the effects of the battery. I found a decent solution. Simply load a RAW file in 3.3 and do all the combinations that you like and save them as presets (that looks like the best of them is Bleach Bypass + positive live, cool tones Bleach Bypass, Direct positive cold tone and Polar cold + old tones). These should see 4.3 presets (because they share the same database), but export them just in case.

Then, load a file intact in Lightroom 4, select the predefined user you just made. It will not be perfect. Then update the pre-selection for the new 2012 standard in Lightroom 4, select "update to current settings" when right-clicking on the preset and it should look pretty close to what it was at the 3.3.

  • Help!  I looked at my files "backup", and now ALL my pictures are more 'related' to Lightroom.

I thought I was missing some files, so I looked at my backup files.  I received a 'warning' that Lightroom would restart and display my backup files.  I have NOT received any warning, that there is NO GOING BACK!  I've tried everything.  I can't add a link to ONE of my pictures.  Well, I just did an and he told me all the other photos in the folder have been corrupted and Lightroom would not be able to edit (and no, it wasn't an exported .jpeg file).  Fortunately, I am not concerned about this issue, that's why I tested it.  I have moved all my pictures from my C drive on my D drive because for some reason strange on this computer, my D drive is 5 times bigger and I ran out of room.  When I did, I was able to recreate a link to all the photos.  Unfortunately, it didn't keep my records, he has them just relinked in chronological order.  I can deal with, even if he did find much more difficult shots, but I wasn't about to try to rename one of them and have to recreate a link to the new.

Now, I can't repeat an any of them because it appears in Lightroom that all photos are back on the C drive and as a result, the new pictures that I placed on the D drive aren't there, and nothing is re-issued, period, not even those who was originally on my C drive!

I have never been so aggravated in my life.  I you LOVE features of Lightroom.  I have version 2.3.  When I search on the help online, all I get is how the photos are in some place they have been saved, but they are linked, etc..  I already know that part.  I seriously wish that I had NEVER looked at my backup files.  I don't think I'll bother backing up stuff more because apparently looking at the backup mess up everything.

I fully expected that I would be able to go back, choose my folders on my D drive and have all my current pictures available.  Unfortunately, not.

My user name should be FREAKED OUT!

Great, now go open recent (in the folder) and open the catalog from the other and see if you get them all connected.

  • Why clear & crisp picture after I exported from Lightroom in the hard drive?

I edit my photo, then export it to the hard drive as a JPEG. When I open my folder on the hard drive and you want to zoom in the clarity isn't here. It looks like a bunch of pixels. Am I missing a step in my savings and jpeg conversion process in Lightroom?

  • Can I retrieve a picture from a video (in Lightroom 3 and Photoshop CS5)?

I am running Windows 7 and Photoshop CS5 and Lightroom 3.  Extract an image of one. MOV file is way over my head, but I want to try.  Right now the file is in Lightroom, but the options ' open in ' are grayed out.  I exported the file on my desktop and I can play the video with Windows Media Player.  I bet that somewhere, somehow, there's a way to do what I want.  Help, ideas or references would be very appreciated!

When you say "Extract an image", do you mean save one executives as an image in Photoshop?

    Here's what you can do:

    1. open the video in Photoshop file > open and select the .mov file.

    2. once the video opens in Photoshop, open the Animation Panel, window > Animation

    3. in the Animation Panel, move the playhead to the desired image, and then save it as an image, file > save as.

    and Voila!

Any questions, just ask. I'll be more than happy to help.

  • Include pictures of art Council in packed links folder

Is it possible to include images placed on the Board of the art in the links folder packed? Which means include all images when the packaging is not only the links in the document.

Here's my weird workflow as well. Perhaps someone could suggest a change that would improve the process.

1 - designers lay out the editorial features not knowing if the images will be on color or b & w pages (don't ask, I wish I could change that).

2 color images are placed in the layout, but the b & w versions are placed on the art map - directly left or right of the page containing the color version.

    3. features can sit for days until the time for paging.

4-production artists paginate pages as ad-logs are completed.

5 - images for editorial content are swapped, when necessary, for n/b - place the original images of color on the art map.

6 features are packaged for delivery to a team of web production which copies and pastes text and images into the web templates.

6 - If the color images are swapped for b/w when printing paging and packaged article they are not available for the web production department.

I joined a tenacious team that I finally convinced to move from Quark 4... but they can't let go of this process of art Council. Suggestions, comments or feedback is greatly appreciated.

    Just a thought.

Increase the size of the sludge to include images and see if they are taken when they are packed and then

I think tha response to that is no, but packaging DOES not pick you up what touches the background area lost. This mans defining a bleeding gives you a lot of space on the pastebaord which will be possibly included in the package, but it also means that using purge guides and the document bleed settings of the print and export dialog boxes is no longer valid, an inconvenience because you can easily add a new set of rule guides for the purge and set the dimensions of the purge in the dialog boxes.

Or get REALLY sneaky and define as huge purge, then set the slug as the size you want to use for the purge. When you print or export, do not set a bleed, but include slug area. The big downside to this is that the lost background area is included in the view when you fit page spread or adjustment in the window.

  • The picture orientation for printing from Lightroom's auto-detection

Lightroom does have a feature that can automatically detect the orientation of the photo?  I have a lot of photos to print - some in the landscape and the other in portrait.  I would send them all to detect it at the time, rather than the landscape ones, then the portrait of lot.  Is there a way to do it and have them print correctly?

Check the box "Turn worthy" in the image settings panel in the printing Panel.

If you mean "import the photos exported from Lightroom in other software", then Yes

Y at - it a plug-in that allows you to save the changes to the original image files, so I don't have to have 2 copies of the same images?

No, in fact, it is fundamental for the functioning of Lightroom. However, if you are interested in a slideshow, you can avoid 2 copies of the same images by creating slideshows in Lightroom.
