Pixel death on all new Qosmio G30

Hello

I just bought this machine and it's amazing. The best laptop for sure.

However, I was very disappointed to see a defective sub-pixel on the screen. When the power is on a black background, there is a green pixel stays there.
There is a leaflet that accompanies the qosmio who explains on the warranty and dead pixels but I can't understand...
The company that I bought is currently checking on what can be done about it...

Is this pixel enough so that it can be taken to the warranty? What else can be done about it?

Thereafter, I always try before you buy... but anyway, if anyone has any advice for me that would be great!

  • Looked for a driver updated - should I all? Qosmio G30-175

Hello people, new user here Toshiba.
Last week, I bought a Qosmio G30-175. After an installation of Bluetooth problem, all right.
I updated the BIOS updated today v1.70 (even if the version of Windows would not work)!
I thought I'd do a search updates of pilot and I find 86 updates appear!
Someone could tell me if all of these updates are only available for use, or my laptop especially requires all these updates?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hello

    What? 86 drivers?
Are you sure? I checked the driver Toshiba Qosmio G30 - 175 page (PQG30E) and found only 50 drivers for Windows XP MCE.
But two entries in the list of 50 drivers! For example there are 2 BIOS, 2 LAN drivers, different modem drivers, etc. listed.

In the installation instructions document, you must install only the drivers and utilities that are listening. This guide line is important and if you install the Toshiba drivers manually, you should follow this guide line.

You will also find the document in the section of the driver

  • New Qosmio G30 hangs after some time by doing nothing about it

    Hello

I'm a software engineer. It means that I know only a few things on computers. But this new Qosmio makes me unhappy because I see no chance to let it run stable. I got this phone about 2 weeks. This week * the system crashed about 10 to 15 times *. Is the horrible thing, I can't do anything else than * holding down the power button for 10 seconds to restart this machine *.
Original Vista Ultimate is installed. External devices, or USB mouse. I changed the power "always being run" mode to be sure that the effect is not any energy saving mode. I have updated all the drivers to the latest version. But with the same effect.
I really need to start working with this computer, but I can't trust him at this time. I need help as soon as possible!

In this case, I downloaded the information system on this site:

    Hi dude

It's not easy to say why the laptop s OS crashes.
It is maybe something wrong with the s operating system installed?  :| who knows.

I think you should install the OS preinstalled Toshiba and it should test then

If the laptop still crashes the single RAM modules need to be tested.
I think you could blow an and could test the laptop using a single module of RAM.

    Good luck

  • Touchpad locked on all new Qosmio X 70 - A

I bought a brand new Qosmio X-70 which arrived yesterday. Everything was fine until today, I was typing something and just locked touchpad - fire came at the top left, and that's all. I changed the settings and Fn & F9 release did nothing.

I turned off and restarted, the touchpad went well for a few seconds while windows was loading, but then locked again as soon as the start screen has finished loading up. I'm not that computer savvy, so have no idea if it is a fault in the machine or a simple to fix the thing.

    All answers gratefully received.

You can unlock using the FN key combination? Please test.

  • No sound at all on Qosmio G30

    Hello

Four days ago, that my sound disappeared completely. It was the Saturday work, but disappeared Sunday.
Since then, I did a system restore (I had anyway because I had a few creative stubbornly installable software playing havoc) but even now there is still no sound.

    Recovery fixed everything bar it.
What is a hardware prob or software residual prob?
Any help would be great as having zero noise is driving me crazy.

    Cheers, thomas

    Hello Thomas

Please check all sound properties and make sure that it is not on mute. You can also check using the FN + ESC key combination.

Give us please more information about the settings in the sound properties.

  • Audio problems on all new Qosmio x 505

    Hello

Just got my Qosmio x 505-Q870 and audio right out of the box was cracked and burst noise. After about an hour the noise stopped going out speakers in total.
I always get the sound from my headset but with a lot of interference. Running Windows 7 64 bit.

    Any ideas?

    > Just got my x 505-Q870 and audio right out of the box was cracked and burst noise. After about an hour the noise stopped going out speakers in total.

You can try to reinstall a sound driver, but it may be a hardware malfunction, who knows. I say this because you just got so it crackles with the factory settings. If a pilot of his reinstalaltion will not fix it, replace it with another.

  • Qosmio G30-102 Optical SPDIF not working not

I bought the new Qosmio G30-102 and I'm sure that the connector SPDIF optical Out does not work.

I can't test it now, but I had a couple of SPDIF sound cards and each of them had a red light on all the time, who reported that Optical SPDIF is supported.

The Qosmio g30-102 definitely supports the audio line in Jack S/PDIF. It s a headphone
You simply use the right cable!

  • Qosmio G30-161: how to install XP or where to find the restore CD?

In my other post (http://forums.computers.toshiba-europe.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=29959&tstart=0) I asked if anyone had a solution to my problem, I thought at that time was RAID configuration. It turns out that it is my CD is corrupt.

So now I need a new Qosmio G30 - 161 XP MCE install CD. Now, I've heard that there are a few programs, Fx. nLite, which can put drivers into XP installation. Is this true? I have a Win XP Prof instal cd.

So here is my final questions (prioritized :))):

    1. How can I make my own CD for Win Xp MCE or Pro install?
    2. what drivers need to be included in the cd?
3 should. what program I use?
    ______________________________________________

    4. If it is not possible for me to create my own CD, where can I buy one that works with my Qosmio G30 - 161?

A response is much appreciated and wanted :) Please help me out here. I thank very you much in advance!

    Hello

Yes, you can use the freeware software nLite to build your own windows CD and include the various drivers.

    With regard to the point:

    (1) I think you should google for nLite, because much useful documentation and instruction how to use the program nLite.
    (2) If your laptop supports the RAID drive I would recommend including only the RAID driver. Other drivers, you can install after the installation of Windows operating system
    (3) nLite is ok
    (4) you can order the new collection of EPA, which is responsible for your country.

    Best regards

  • Qosmio G30 pink pixels on the screen - what can I try next?

I have a qosmio G30 on the white parts of the screen were pink pixel in them as well as purple pink pixels around parts.

In reading the various posts, I have eliminated the graphics chip/card that I can get a perfect image on an external display. The laptop is out of warranty and also out of the extra year for graphics problems, so I tried to fix it myself. I tried all of the solutions below and none have worked.

I wonder if anyone could give me any other things to try.

I've updated the BIOS and the display driver - no change.
I then replaced the motherboard to the LCD connection with a new cable - no change.

And finally, I have replaced the LCD screen with a new - again no change.

-Always works fine on an external monitor.

Any ideas or suggestions would be very appreciated.

    Thank you very much

    Hello

I think you're talking about dead pixels.
    Would this be possible?

The problem of dead pixels has nothing to do with the graphics card but it s a display problem.
So I was wondering why this problem persists after the LCD has been replaced

Maybe a Toshiba laptop technician should verify and test parts of the hardware to make sure what part could be the problem exactly

  • Qosmio G30-175: screen starts flickering pixels & funny

    Hello

I have PC laptop Toshiba Qosmio G30-175. I was working fine until last week. But all of a sudden screen looks funny disappeared.
When I start the laptop, it starts well and windows start too thin.
But a few early screen minute flicker and everything on the screen disappear and all the screen do cover with kind of pixels.

Could someone please advice me, what went wrong for this laptop. Is the motherboard or card went graph.
If so, how can I get it fixed at a great price.
Is it possible to change the graphics card.

    much thanks

    Hi mate

I think I have bad news for you.
According to your description the graphics card chip begins to malfunction, and I think you have only one chance to solve this problem; the defective part must be replaced!

I would recommend so contact the nearest authorized service partner in your country and ask for later handling.

Sorry mate but it isn't alternative :(

  • Qosmio G30-117 - no HDMI plug - so, how can I connect to my new TV HDMI

    Hello
I've had this laptop for about a year and for a large part of which I had no idea what was HDMI. Then my old TV died and I had to get a new one. In order to have my Qosmio I assumed (stupidly) - after all, it is a (relatively) new piece of equipment and has the HDDVD. I bought the new TV, got the cables and low and this is where should be the connection HDMI was nothing.

There is another connection that I thought was HDMI but isn't. I am able to connect to the TV using my d-connection cable SCART. But of course how a true HD signal. I can't seem to find out and a call to the support of Tosh line me anywhere we know?

Y at - he had a special adapter/cable which can connect in this regard ' HDMI? If this is not the case, how can I can a HDMI Signal on my TV from the phone.

    Any help or ideas appreciated

    Thank you
    Peter

    Hello

The Qosmio G30-117 model was not delivered with the HD-DVD drive, but only with the player double layer DVD Super-Multi drive (+ R) and so this laptop does not support HDMI port but only digital device on the port (d-connector).
The other G30 with HD-DVD has been bundled with HDMI port.

A component-D to HDMI adapter is unknown to me. But why you want to connect the HDMI laptop if the laptop does not support HD-DVD player?

  • Qosmio G30 - RAID may not reflect new 500 GB HARD drive

I have installed 2 new identical 500 GB hard in my Qosmio G30 with Windows XP.

The system works well, but the disc cannot be mirrored. Report of the Raid Controller is 'Normal Operation status.

This disk cannot be used for mirroring because it is outside the management of the RAID."

Who can tell me whether it is a disc error or is the drive of 500 GB to big for the toshiba with Windows XP raid controller?

    > Can anyone tell me if it of a disc error, or is the drive of 500 GB to big for the toshiba with Windows XP raid controller?

Hmm. I m not very good, but it could be possible that the 500 GB HARD drive is too big for the mirroring of the mode.

But have you tried to change the mode in comforter Toshiba RAID you might find in Toshiba Assist-> Protect Fix & -> RAID Console

Check if you can switch to the mirroring.

By the way; RAID-1 is defined in the BIOS?
Usually, when you use RAID-1 configuration, the RAID is set to mirroring. In this case, the operating system recognizes the reduced ability to both hard drives (in your case, it is not important since you are using the two 500 GB HDD).

    Check it!

  • Qosmio G30-140 - Console problems on new install XP MCE Raid utility

I just bought a Toshiba Qosmio G30-140 of second hand. It has 2 hard drives and I tried to install windows 7 with great difficulty due to the raid driver... I managed to cmplete installation and travels account that half the utilities would not work in compatibility mode... Solution, I decided to re install the original Windows XP Media Center Edition, as I didn't have the original disks, I had many days of trial and error downloading different versions to work on my system... FINALLY, I GOT THE RIGHT ONE...

    Here's my question:

I want to set up my machine to use the 2 drives in RAID mirror in case of data corruption, although I tried to install the RAID utility using the restore disc, I had created before embarking on this mission - suicidal

IT WILL NOT BE INSTALLED, AND CONTINUES TO GIVE ME THE SAME ERROR OVER AND OVER AGAIN, EVEN IF I AM LOGGED ON ADMINISTRATOR
error message is "("TOSHIBA RAID Service"Service [kraidsvc] could start. Make sure that sufficient privelages to start the services.) »

I'm stuck and tried a lot of combinations, different and re-installed the OS twice, I am an administrator and possess these privelages. HELP :((

    Hi mate

Installing the RAID driver could solve this problem...

Also, I guess you used the right RAID settings in the BIOS.
As far as I know, you can change the RAID option in the BIOS on the last page (3-3)
RAID0 means stripping and RAID1 mirror you want to use.

After changing the RAID parameters, you must confirm this insert the string 1,2,3,4 and enter.

But note; After changing this you will need new OS install

  • Qosmio G30 - a new CD/DVD drive is not working properly

    Hiya all

I hope someone can help me. I had to replace my TS-L802A drive by another of the same model, except that when I replaced the drive I have problems to boot the CD and the laptop (Qosmio G30) rejects saying CD error at startup.

I managed to install the operating system from a flash drive and it works great except for the side of cd rom of things. I have the flash player so that the laptop to recognize it? If yes how can I do to do that. I think the chipset for the optical drive is set as slave or something and not master.

    Help, please!

    Hello

The readers of CD/DVD slimline for laptops are controlled by the firmware.
The firmware controls the master/slave/c-selc settings.

You need a player that is compatible with Qosmio G30.
Your drive you bought may be compatible with a laptop, but if the settings are not compatible with Qosmio G30/bios of the controller, then, you wouldn't be able to use it

There are no jumpers or anything else that could be changed as mentioned that he controlled by software
