Place several images in a container (was: InDesign)

Hello

I'm new to inDesign. Can someone help me place several images in a container like rectangle which I can obtain the coordinates of the different grphics/pictures with respect to the container not document page.

Thank you and best regards

SAL

I´n, not quite sure what you are trying to do but I m afraid it s is not possible in InDesign. Coordinates are always referring to the page, or in fact the origin usually located on the top left corner of the page.

If you want just a single image for multiple images, you can try to use the dough in the command. Group your images and edit > cut. A blank rectangle, select, and edit > paste inside. Now you have your image within a group setting and they Joanie act as a single image, if for example evolve you your frame...

I tried to programmatically import several images in InDesign, but I'm having a small problem. As I understand it, a multiple selection returns an array, but the script is up on top of me. Here's what I have so far:

    var slideshowImages = File.openDialog ("choose the pictures you want included", "files: * .jpg", true);

    If ((slideshowImages! = "") & & (slideshowImages!) (= null)) {}

var slideshowItems = tabletSlideshow.pages.item (0) .place (slideshowImages);   < = this is where I get the value of «invalid parameter 'Filename' method 'place'...» "error.

    slideshowItems = slideshowItems [0];

Can I place one, but not multiple. Any ideas?

The usual way. Use slideshowImages.length to get the number of images; Then, you can loop through all of the images and place each of them:

    for (i=0; i

-even if you need to think of a way to place each image on a page that is unique, because this loop will stand on top of the other on the first page.

I have several characters saved like that. I want to put everything on a single image to print on a sheet of paper. is there a way to select all the images at once. Place them in the scene and then resize everything at once and remove the white background of them suddenly, rather laboriously make them one at a time because its blows my mind right now. (if you were wondering why the hell I am doing this for D & D, they will cut outs, in several positions, with different armor that can be pasted on the body of the main character) anyway, thanks in advance for any help. bad shares with the community when you are finished if anyone wants them for their own games!

  • place several doc MS Word page in InDesign

I hope that there is a tip to place the content of several page MS word document into an InDesign document, which is faster than clicking and place on each page of the InDesign doc.

Thus, for example, I have a MS Word doc page 10 and I would like to put its content in a 10 page InDesign document. • How to place an image inline with the text using InDesign CS4?

I'm writing the first draft of an instruction manual how two for some software.

I'm writing the manual directly in InDesign CS4 and making screen shots that I'm making progress. I format the screenshot in Photoshop and export it to a JPG file.

In InDesign, I double-click in the text box where I want to insert the image, go to file > place, get the picture, then press on open.

Usually InDesign inserts the image at the cursor flashing in the text, but sometimes what happens is that no picture inserted and everything after it disappears. I get several empty text boxes and need to Control-Z to get back to where I started.

Now I can put the image outside the text box and then manually move it to the text where I want to go, however when I export the file as HTML, then I need to manually move it to the appropriate area in Dreamweaver (when the image is placed inside the text box to the flashing cursor, the HTML file shows the image in the right place).

I was able to insert the line in file with the text to a new paragraph mark, but sometimes InDesign doesn't let me do. Sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn't.

I don't know what I'm doing to prevent it from placing the paragraph mark and the blinking cursor (which is where I want it to appear).

This is a recording of screen 54sec of my actions:

    Steps to follow:

I double-click inside the text box

    I place the image

    everything goes

I have a few pages scroll, and then return to the starting point

I have to scroll through a page or double-click inside the text box then press return a few times, and the previous image, I put in this way is automatically pushed to the next page.

I go back to point of original departure, try again, and it does not work.

I've done it before, but now it does not work. I don't know what's happened prevents him from online to the location of the cursor.

    Help, please.

    Thank you

It seems to me that the image is too wide for the frame. You can place it on the editing table, scale in the size, then cut to the Clipboard and paste it into the flow of the text.

  • How can I place several smaller images of varying size on one page for printing without losing the original size.  Board contact option to resize my pictures

Does anyone know how to place several small pictures on a single page, so I can print them out as a rather print over and over again.  I want to maintain the original size of the images that vary somewhat.  I tried to use the option of the Board-contact, but he seems to want to resize my images which unfortunately is of no use to me.  I tried to cut and paste on a new page, but I don't think that it is now the original size.

Alternative applications sometimes can provide quick and easy results.

It might be interesting to download the demo version of Photoline: it includes a simple Board-contact option that allows for images to be included without loss of resolution, i.e. the original is left intact and the proportions remain unchanged. Since Photoline also supports documents several pages, all the thumbnails are collected into rows and columns, the user can control and the end result can be exported as PDF.

    -Download the trial of pl32.com

-Open Photoline, then open the browser (CTRL/CMD (B)

-Navigate to your folder with the images you want to combine for printing.

-right mouse click in the thumbnail view, and then select "Create image Catalog.

-Select the page by Page size

-under 'Size' define the number of rows and columns (there are here a translation error: "Spalten (COL) / rows (lines)".)

-Uncheck "scale photos physically." This ensures that the original images are intact and incorporated in full resolution.

    And then click OK.

Some of the other testing devices until you get a satisfactory result. Then export it to PDF.

  • When you place an image in InDesign, it seems pixelated.  It is a 66 MB file in a 6 x 9 "paper.

I'm new to InDesign, I created all of my documents for printing in Acrobat PDF format.  When I place an image, it will appear pixelated.

    Hello

This is an expected behavior, when you place an image in InDesign, then it displays a preview of the image but you has no impact of the exit, unless the image is of low resolution itself.

In order to have the correct resolution of images, you can switch to view > display performance > high quality.

  • Batch 'Place' gets off center after several images

It's kind of hard to explain.  I'm trying to place a border and a watermark on the multiple images using the place command.  The image I use to place is a file .psd with a transparent background.  The main images are tiff files.  The problem is, that after a number of images that change, the placed image (border/watermark) gets biased by a few pixels every time and I find myself with a border of offset to the right.  How can I fix?  Here is my method:

    1. action to create

    2. resize the image for 300 DPI 1200x1800px.

    3. "set" border/watermark image above the main image.  Central position is 600px 1200px.  100.1% to each side

    4. Flatten Image

    5. sharpen

    6 close action

    7. I can select several images via the bridge and go to 'Batch' or 'Processor of Image' and run it.

    8. in several images, the placed image "slips" to the right by a pixel or two each image.

Y at - it something I'm doing wrong here?  The placed image is the same size and orientation as the original images.

Before your flatten step you can then select the layer: -.

Layer - align layers to selection - vertical centers
Layer - align layers to selection - horizontal centers

This should make sure that it is in the Center.

In CS 4 and CS 5, you can drag and drop FRO m the finder or bridge, and I suppose that any other viewer of similar type, multiple number of image files to a document. You can configure the bridge so that you can see the bridge and your document at the same time for this purpose.

If you drag and drop files are linked, if you drag while holding down the SHIFT key, then the files will be incorporated.

ID and PS CS 5 have a minijonction who works the way sam but is actually a Panel and will stay at the front.

I have separate images but they import on the other.

I'm in Pagemaker 6.5 on a PC with Win7 Ultimate. I don't use a lot of Pagemaker, but recently it stopped of allowing me to the images of the Place.  I can't drag-and - drop or place.  When I try, I get "cannot place this file. File contains invalid data. 8601:29766."

Using InDesign CS6 after updating windows over recent 10 now, when I try and place an image into a new or existing file, the program quits immediately after opening the dialog box. I tried to reinstall InDesign, but it makes no difference.

Dear Cari, thank you for taking the time to answer. I tried this and many other things including uninstalling and cleaning of all my machine Adobe products. Eventually it became clear - after three re - installs the software it was a hardware problem or a problem Windows 10. I finally got to work it making a Windows 10 re - install, a base file must be damaged. At least I don't need to buy another PC and it make me save all my files before I do!

  • IDML files created in InDesign CC images does not work in InDesign CS5.5

I received an INDD file someone created using InDesign CS5.5.  The file contains text and images.  I made a few changes to the text in InDesign CC and sent it to the user of InDesign CS5.5 IDML format.  When they opened the file, the text changes are visible to them, but images that were in the original file from CS5.5 were missing.  I don't have the original images contained in the document that the user CS5.5 sent only the INDD file.

Is it possible that I can update the INDD file and deliver an IDML file without alteration of the images?  As I'm typing my situation out in this post, I was wondering if I need to the original images, despite the fact that the document was created by the user CS5.5.

Any input you can provide will be greatly apreciated.  Thank you.

IDML never contains images. It contains references to the images.

The images are not changed. The person who sent you the file to rebuild images in the InDesign file in the links Panel.

  • How to place a picture of the PS in InDesign?

    Hello

I created a card in Photoshop and have to put two on a page in InDesign CS3. I've placed the graphic on the page, but this is larger than the size of designated paper. I tried to go to object > adjustment to correct the problem, but nothing happened. So I tried to manually adjust the height and width I needed the image on the page and it resized the picture is OK but I could not see the whole picture in the new size. So my question is how can I place an image, get it to the size I need (see dimensions below) and add two to a page?

FYI: is the paper size: 8.5 x 11 inches. The graphics are 4.25 x 5.5 inches. I need to print two to a page.

    Thanks for the help.

You must keep in mind that the images are placed in frames. When you tried to the size of the image, which in fact size you was the setting. Then, the image is no longer the frame (because he had not been weighed with the frame). Select the image via the donut in the Middle, or use the direct Selection tool to select the image. Scale refers to the content.

Conversely, you can scale of the frame to the desired direction, and then use the mounting Options. Note that the mounting options include fitting to frame content frame editing of content, so if you have the image to the appropriate size you will probably adjust the content proportionally.

You can also transform the framework and content together by pressing the command key.
