Place the Dell 7840 in Recovery Mode

Our company just bought a Dell place 7840 from Best buy to test using it in our stores. Someone set up a password on this subject and we can go no longer. I access the firmware screen and can select recovery, however, after he starts, I can't do the coming recovery menu so that I can wipe and reinstall the software. Can someone tell me how to do a complete factory reset when you can't go to the device? Thank you.

Robb

While I've lived all this, and the steps that saw ii were:

1. from power off, hold down the flight down and the power button until the Dell logo appears

2. use the flight down to select Recovery, then press power to select

3 tablet will start to screen '' no command. ''

At this point, it is a little blurry.  I who power and flight up to three times.  Not sure it must be three times or I just squeeze them together correctly, but makes up the menu of options following which includes eraasing cache, erase user data/dfactory reset, reboot and load something like the SD card update (sorry, can't remember)

  • recover data after the update results in recovery mode

Hello! I feel absolutely terrible and any help would be greatly appreciated. I have an old IPhone 4S that has been put into market and on himself. One of my friends told me to go to IoS9. Terrible mistake because it made my phone goes into recovery mode.

I never did all backups on Icloud and on ITunes. Worse still, I never had ITunes in my life. (I am kind new to smartphones, this IPhone was given just for me)

A friend of a friend has offered to help and I gave her my IPhone for a little more than 10 minutes. He has a Mac and said he could do something (legal or not, I have no idea). But then I realized that there are things really private in my IPhone that I would not want anyone other than me to see. So I asked him to stop whatever he was doing. The phone is still on the recovery mode when I got back, he had the phone for about 10-15 minutes, and I never gave him the passwords. My question is simple: would he able to access my data in any ways if he wanted to?

I went to an Apple store and a saleswoman told me that there was no way he could have access to what in my phone as the phone was completely blocked / blocking. And then I'm going home and read things like Wondershare, on ways to get data without passwords and I completely panick on everything.  You have to be a complete genius this information?

I guess I just need to be reassured. Thanks to you all.

PS: I'm not English, I hope I have made myself understandable!

If the phone goes into recovery mode, restore only on a new version of the iOS will be bring back to life.

The password for the lock screen can't be changed if restore you to a computer that was used to put in place or to sync the phone in the past. Other computers cannot access the data on the phone, he's going to be wiped out during the installation procedure. If you never connected to a computer, the first time that you try to synchronize, the phone will be erased, over, synchronization, it will take the password of the lock screen to display on the phone.

  • Maybe it's to rewrite the BIOS with crisis recovery mode?

    Hey everybody,

my laptop 'freezes' during BIOS 'PHOENIX' updated 2 years ago.
SERVICE told to change the motherboard, the price as new pc, so I bought new laptop.

I keep looking at the toshiba forum always, so I read a lot of information on the MODE of RECOVERY from CRISIS.
so I tried to check my laptop died after 2 years.

My satellite M100 starts in crisis recovery mode Fn + B.
my laptop starts up to CRISIS MODE, but do not read the USB STICK
I did the flash with the CRISDISK 1.0.0.4 USB key program, but I'm not sure I did it way right!

    My question is:
is it really possible to REWRITE the bios with crisis recovery mode, where I can read more information on how to do it.

    I want back my M100 :)))

    Hey,.

As Akuma writes that you should try a USB FDD instead a USB key. Key USB is supported only on new models of laptops, but as far as I know USB FDD will be always supported.

In any case, just for your information: you should know what you're doing. It is a delicate and risky procedure and in the worst cases you might destroy the whole ROM module but if you already have a new laptop I think that it s a problem for you. ;)

  • I would be able to charge the ipad in recovery mode?

Yes, it should charge. It greatly helps when you are trying to get the device out of Recovery Mode.

  • Can not switch to OSX Recovery Mode: looking for the keyboard and magic mouse

I'm trying to reset my end 2012 Mac Mini 2.3GHz/i7/16GB to factory settings to try to get the machine a new lease on life.

However, when I try to enter in Recovery Mode (in now command ⌘ + R when the system starts up), the machine will stop to a screen showing the instructions to turn on a magical keyboard and Magic Mouse.

I have a trendy apple (USB) keyboard and a USB mouse is connected.

How can I activate these entries, or how can I pass this screen looking for a keyboard/Magic Magic Mouse?

[I guess one option is to use a magic mouse or a magical keyboard - I have in my office - but it is not sensible that you need them to access recovery mode].

    Thank you

Got my Magic Mouse of the office, got into recovery mode. Surprised, you need a Magic Mouse, and who does not have a USB mouse to the recovery mode!

  • Update the Firmware of Calc for the first HP gives first HP V13 recovery mode.

I tried the firmware update procedure prescribed using the latest updates to 2015.   Calculator is V13.  Windows 7.  When from the firmware update the calculator immediately shows the first HP V13 recovery mode. and then nothing happens to the progress bar.   I tried the reset and tried several times, same thing.  Before the attempt of firmware, I am capable of a screenshot so connectivity exists but firmware update fails every time.  Any ideas or suggestions?

Please do not follow the previous answer. It will make you lose your data on the calculator and probably not anything.

    ===================================

You are connected to a USB 3.0 port? If so, it is probably the cause of the problem. This problem has been solved, but would require the calculator to run the latest version.

Basically, the problem is more likely when the calculator "toggle" in the normal mode in mode 'updater '. Recently, with ports USB, windows stopped to reload the usb driver in mode "updater" on some systems.

A simple thing you can try is this:

    1. try your method of update.

    2. once it is in the form "updtate" - go ahead and disconnect the calculator.

    3. close the connkit leave the calculator in update mode.

    4. now connect the calcualtor to a DIFFERENT usb port.

    5. Windows will probably appear a driver installion thing or detects the device, or something similar. It's what you want.

    6. once everything has stopped, rerun the connectivity kit. After a few seconds, you will be asked if you want to update. Click Yes and if all goes well it will run well this time.

If you continue to have problems, try the continuation of this support document. If you continue to have a problem, post it here and we will try to get by.

  • Disabled IPad can be reset using the recovery mode

Someone with a good it knowledge doctored iPad without permission and now it can be reset using the recovery mode. While that plugged into iTunes, software downloads, iPad, then displays the Apple symbol but then returns the message "iPad is disabled connect to iTunes".

    Hi stephen158,

I understand that, in the process of restoration of an iPad in recovery mode, your iPad rebooted and returns to the screen "connect to iTunes". This can occur if the software download takes longer than 15 minutes, how the iPad will exit Recovery mode and the software will continue to download. In this case, you should be able to put the iPad in recovery mode and choose to restore the device when prompted.

    1. Connect your device to your computer and open iTunes. If you don't have a computer, borrow one from a friend or go to an Apple Store or service provider authorized Apple for help.
    2. When your device is connected, force restart it: press and hold the sleep/wake and home for at least 10 seconds, and only release when you see the Apple logo. Keep until you see the screen in recovery mode now.
    3. When you see the option restore or update, choose update. iTunes will try to reinstall iOS without erasing your data. Please wait while iTunes downloaded the software for your device.
If the download takes more than 15 minutes the device out of recovery mode, you must repeat these steps and choose restore instead of update when you return to this step.
    4. After the update or restore is complete, configure your device. If you have backed up your device with iTunes or iCloud and you need to restore your device in step 3, you may be able to restore from your backup during installation.

If you are unable to update or restore your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch

  • I'm a fool - recovery mode. Tried the sansa.fmt folder, but does not work... Help, please!

My buddy gave me his sansa used for a Christmas gift.  I loved.  They when I delete his old songs that I deleted the other folders on it as well (pictures, records, etc.)  basically everything except the music files.  Now, when I turn it on, it says "cannot load the main image.  switch to recovery mode.  I browsed the forums and tried to make the sansa.fmt folder (it formatted) but still does not work.  I can't find the stuff I deleted from the Recycle Bin.

Thank you in advance and happy holidays.

It's Christmas time.  Santa has something cool in his bag, I'm sure.  We will first check the device to version 1.

When he started upward, you saw just the SanDisk logo with sunburst on the splash screen?  I just want to be sure that your e200 is not a Rhapsody Sansa, because this version has different firmware.  R has a Rhapsody splash screen after the initial one.

You've seen how to connect in Recovery Mode, Yes?  Start with the e200 decommissioned.  Slide the HOLD switch to the right (orange showing) and hold the button depressed all REC by plugging into the USB port.  It is the easiest method of recovery mode.

Alternatively, you can start the Recovery Mode if the REC button is held, and the power-menu button is tapped too. In both cases, welcome to the Recovery Mode is displayed.  Either incidentally, the MSD acronym on the screen refers to the "Mass Storage Device", as in MSC mode.

A few words of caution before going any further.  Recovery mode opens the reserved partitionof the device.  Critical data are stored here.  Do NOT use the Windows format command when this partition is opened, or you will erase these critical data! Only use the sansa.fmt folder trick to tell the e200 himself format automatically.

Download and Unzip the TWO files of firmware for your Sansa e200v1 here.  It is the 01.02.24, the final version.  Just click on the version you want for your region.  The Sansa Updater link isn't what you need.

The two files, after him have unzipped, are pp5022.mi4 and BL_SD... ROM (mental block on the name at the moment).

When you connect the e200 and open a window of Windows Explorer (my computer / computer), you will see a new icon, 16 MB FORMAT.  Double-click this to open reserved partition.  Do not touch the file version.txt in there and don't TRY to use the Windows Format command that appears with a right-click, bad juju.

Let's go Happy window. Drag the first window to a convenient size, and the other with your firmware files can be placed on the desktop.  Now for the magic!  Simply drag and drop these two firmware files on in the open window that represents the reserved partition.  Cool huh?  Easier to make the ratio of rum and eggnog just right.

Now, if there are a bunch of gibberish stored on the device, and you want to start with a clean slate, you can tell the e200 to format the primary partition (where music, videos and photos are) automatically.  Click right while in the 16MB FORMAT box and select new folder.  RENAME it sansa.fmtfolder and the Sansa will follow this command after installing the firmware.

Go to the task bar at the bottom of the screen and click the command remove device or eject the disc.  Again, WIndows like formatting of devices, it of eject you want, do not fit!

Unplug, and restore your e200!  Slide the HOLD switch to the left.

Let me know how it goes, since the Bobster has other tricks in the bag.  This one should do the trick.

    Oh, I forgot.  You're not a fool.

  • iPhone stuck in recovery mode 5 c

    Hi all

I'm not native English and my grammar isn't the best, so if you do not understand something I posted, just ask and I try to be more specific.

I have the problem that my iPhone 5 c is stuck in recovery mode and I have so far failed.

The problem started with iOS 9.3.3. In the aftermath of the update my iPhone crashed with the screen flickering and restarted every 1-2 minutes. Then I installed the iPhone as a new iPhone and it was good for a few days and then it happened.

Then comes the 9.3.4 iOS update. The update worked for a day and then all of a sudden my iPhone has not found any connection to my mobile operator. WLAN and bluetooth still worked.

Then I tried to restore my iPhone again. First of all everything went well and the update was successful, but the same day, the flicker of the screen and restarts every 1-2 minutes came back.

I once again tried to restore my iPhone, but this time it did not work. First of all, I got error 9 several times.

These days I get only error 4013 and I can't get the iPhone out of recovery mode. When I try to launch it to the of in the mode of recovery and all the ways to get out of her failed.

When I try to retrieve it with iTunes, it extracted the software, then the iPhone restarts until I see the apple logo and the "busy" - circle appears. Then the whole screen fades away in the dark, as if he would run out of power, but leaves immediately in recovery mode where I see the iTunes logo and the cable with plug.

    Here's what I did:

-Hold the home button and the Start button / stop in any combination: he restarts, but returned in recovery mode and error 4013 in iTunes.

-Via another USB port: same result, error 4013 in iTunes.

-Tried it on another computer (Win 10) with fresh install iTunes. Here, I got error 21 once and 4013 the second try.

-check the URL in the file host

-J' tried all methods, I found on the internet and in youtube videos in this community.

I bought the iPhone end of 2013, that is guaranteed is not in effect. Ever, the iPhone fell down or has been damaged in any way. And it is not jailbroken.

So I have a few questions:

    1. is this a software problem or it could also be a hardware problem?

    2. do I can install iOS 10, it will overwrite the current state and install it?

    3. If it is a problem that is caused by a defective software update, apple will repair for free? Or will contact free support in this case?

    4. someone an idea that a repair is going to cost me?

    Hello

Make sure that you have followed all the steps related to error code 4013 and code error 21, notably by ensuring that you are using a real lightning Apple USB cable (or the equivalent of third-party certified IFM):

And also that you follow the correct process:

If the problem persists then, I suggest you contact Apple technical support or make a Genius Bar reservation for assistance, including to have checked whether iPhone recommended by Apple:

  • Update iPhone6 in recovery mode

My phone is stuck on the Apple logo loop after not updating my phone for some time. I followed all the instructions to update my phone via iTunes recovery mode. Downloading the update last night after a few minutes, but I was still trying to download the update. When he did I put the iPhone in iTunes and started the process of updating. Everything works fine until the loading on the screen of the iPhone bar is almost full, and then it stops, logs off of iTunes and restart again. Ive tried to repeat the process four times now. There is no error message. Is it possible to correct this problem or another solution that does not lose everything on the phone?

    Try:

Put your device in DFU Mode

Follow these steps to put your device in recovery mode iOS. If your iOS device is already in recovery mode, you can proceed immediately to step 6.

    1. disconnect the USB cable from the iPhone, iPad or iPod touch, but leave the

other end of the cable connected to the USB port of your computer.

    2. turn the power off: press and hold the sleep/wake button for a few seconds button

until the Red slider appears, then drag the slider. Wait until the device turns off.

    * If you can not turn off the device using the slider, press and hold

Buttons sleep/wake and Home at the same time. When the device turns off,

release the sleep/wake button and the home.

    3. While pressing and holding the Home button, reconnect the USB cable on the

device. The device must light up. Note: If you see the battery charge warning,.

leave the unit in charge for at least ten minutes to make sure that the battery has some

charge and then start again at step 2.

    4. continue holding the Home button until you see the "Connect to iTunes" screen

When this screen appears, you can release the home button:

    5. If necessary, open iTunes. You should see the following alert of "recovery mode":

    6. use iTunes to restore the device.

If you do not see the "Connect to iTunes" screen, repeat these steps. If you see the "Connect to iTunes" screen, but the device does not appear in iTunes, see this article and its related links.

Note: When you use recovery mode, you can only restore the device. All content on the device user is deleted, but if you had previously synced with iTunes on this computer, you can restore from a previous backup. See this article for more information.

  • iPhone 4 crashed, has entered into recovery mode and don't update or restore (error 4013)

    Hi all

So, the other day, while watching a YouTube video, my iPhone 4 became unresponsive and turns off. Since then, he has been slain in recovery mode, only showing the "connect to iTunes screen.

iTunes gives me two options: update or restore. As I wanted to save my data (I have been so sloppy as to not have backed up the device for about a year!) I tried to update a bunch of times. However, it keeps me gives error 4013. Then, having given up this possibility, I also tried to restore the device several times, but unfortunately exactly the same phenomenon occurs.

What happens is: iTunes downloads and extract the software, says "waiting for iPhone" for a few seconds, then it said "Preparing iPhone software update" because I think little about exactly 15 minutes. Then he said "Waiting for iPhone" still for a few seconds, after which it gives me error 4013.

My guess is the iPhone automatically leaves the recovery mode so that it gives me this error because after 15 minutes and restarts alone, leaving iTunes to "think" that there is some kind of connection problem or do not recognize the device as being the same when it turns off and turns back on after 15 minutes. If this is the case, perhaps restarting interrupts the update/restore process. Or maybe just crashes in this state of preparation for 15 minutes because he is unable to do what he needs because of a sort of damaging the material.

    What I've tried so far:

-Update iTunes to the latest version (12.2.2)

-Updated the software on my Mac (although I must say that it is an old MacBook with OS X 10.7.5; I don't know if it's any factor here)

    -Restarting my computer

-Switch to the other USB port

-Using another USB cable (although the one alternative that I have is not in very good condition)

-Try on a friend's computer (a much newer MacBook; I don't know what operating system well)

-Force the device to restart a package of time (now the power and the home buttons)

-A few third-party applications that claim to be able to get the iPhone out of recovery mode

Any of you have ideas, ideas or suggestions on what is the cause and how can I get my phone back to life again? Recover my data would be obviously ideal, but I would also be very happy with just equipped with a device of work once again. I know it's an obsolete phone but it has always worked well.

Thank you in advance for your help!

Anyone? I could really use some help. Thank you!

  • HP recovery mode first V13 = brick

I tried to update the time on my computer, but when I connect the first for the HP connectivity kit it bricks that the calculator with the first HP V13 recovery mode and HP connectivity kit is waiting for connection.

I just updated the kit of HP connectivity with firmware 20141203

    Hello

The recommended procedure is listed below.

However, sometimes connection problems can cause updates failed, try the following:

Try a different USB port on the 1A)

1 (b) If you use a USB hub, try without the USB hub

1 c) If you do not use a USB hub, try a USB hub (weird I know, but one person mentioned it helped)

    (2) try another USB cable (no matter what standard USB cable, with the same type of connector should work)

After installing the connection kit, the next update method is recommended:

    • Connect your HP Calculator first via the supplied USB cable (connected directly, do not use a USB hub)
    • Start the HP connectivity Kit
    • Click the tab of the calculator
    • Right click on the name of the first HP you want to update (it would be that you connected before starting this procedure)
    • Write down the version number, and then click the OK button
    • Click the Help Menu and select Check for update
    • Look for the pop-up box to update, check the version number that is newer than the one you want to update.
    • Then click on the download button
    • That's it, you will see the update being loaded and installed on your calculator screen. Don't click too quickly out of the HP Connectivity Kit, wait a minute or two after the completion.
    • In addition, there are a step in the connectivity Kit where it is advisable to back up the version that you had before the procedure, just in case. This way, you have a way to cover again.

    Best regards.

  • recovery mode is not available

    Here's the story.

I want to improve my iMac.

We have an iMac of 2007 running OS X 5.6.8

The disk drive is broken, because my 2yo stuffed too many drives inside and we do not have an external drive.

I have a time machine to the top of my powerbook which was under snow leopard.

I want to recover the iMac with the Time Machine since the powerbook.

I plug the external memory on the USB port and use the R command when I hear the sound of the start up. He won't go to the recovery, but straight to connect screen.

Then I read that perhaps hold down the option key at startup upward so I try this. No dice.

Finally, I see that maybe command + option + R might work. Still nothing.

Is there hope for me to be upgraded without taking my machine to the shop or the Genius bar? Perhaps through the internet?

Recovery mode only works on recent Macs. In addition, Time Machine doesn't have a copy of the operating system as part of the backup.  You will need a commercial version (not the one provided with another Mac) Snow Leopard installation disc to upgrade the iMac and get an operating system on it.

I plugged in my iPod to my computer and iTunes to load and update, but when I looked at the message says that the iPod is in recovery mode and needs to be restored.  What happens to my music?  Should I have any choice but to the restore?

See Re: corrupted iPod classic. If the iPod is the only device holding your media he still may be a chance to recover.
