Playlists gone?

I had playlists in my iTunes library. With iTunes version 12.4, any reference to the word "playlist" seems to have completely disappeared from the user interface.

I can create new playlists via file > new. I can right click a song in my library and go to 'Add to Playlist', and all my old playlists appear as selections to add to the song. That's all what I could find.

How the hell can I really choose and play an existing selection? How can I get just a nice list of my playlists to watch? Am I missing something obvious?

I have updated itunes (12.4.2.4) last week on 20 July. However, he had to wait until the last days when I noticed that two of my playlist files favorite are rising and disappeared. I looked around and figured out how to import a playlist of music old .xml. Even after doing this, with a library of playlist of the month of May this year, these two specific folders have always disappeared, even though I've had them for years. Anyone had similar problems? • IOS10, Coast stars, purchased playlist, iTunes

I am running IOS10.0.1 on an iPhone 6. I am a subscriber of Apple's music. Where are the freekin' star ratings (?) on Apple's music application? I spent a decade meticulously curating my collection of music using the coast to stars provided. I have a system with all five-star ranking "no Star". The sides are the Foundation of my entire music collection. The rating system 'Love' 'not like' now employment is unnecessary and juvenile. It is completely unlike Apple experience - dumbing down the scoring system.

I have 567 Articles in the list of "Bought" on iTunes on my Mac. On the issue of 'Bought' IOS10 it shows 3 songs. This is unacceptable.

In IOS10 music app, when I press the playlist 'Recently played', all crashes.

Where is the game count? I want my playlist '25 most played' to appear on IOS10 and serve. On the application of music IOS10 playlist 'Most played' blocks the app when we and the same playlist on my Mac using iTunes 12.4.3.1 is no longer present the songs most played who play for years. Now it shows the songs most played since last month when I upgraded iTunes. Historical data what are gone. It's tragic.

On my iTunes on my Mac, I have a smart playlist, "Top 25 most played" using this criterion:

Match all media for all of the following rules:

    Media type is not Podcast

    Cheek is greater than 0

Limited to 25 items selected by most often played

    Live update

But it does not follow the criteria. I know that I can go to 'Get information' to get a game for songs in ITunes account, but this isn't a list of the most played top 25.

I don't know what Apple did, but it is NOT the iTunes I used and loved all these years. And now the version of IOS is severely lacking... when not crashing.

I have a very similar problem. I do not use AppleMusic, BUT I have a large collection of music. I used to be able to tap the album art on my iPhone and rate a song - easy. Now, I can't. I have to remember until the next time I synchronize with my PC and evaluated in iTunes on my PC... seriously downgrade functionality. I listen to a lot of music on my phone and need to evaluate here and!

  • iPhone 6 purchased music unsuppressed after trying to AutoFill new playlist?

When you try to automatically fill a new playlist, I had endless circles... and the playlist was never added to my phone. Then I realized that all my music (not purchased) has an exclamation by it and cannot be played. When I unplugged my phone all my music not purchased was gone.

Is there a way to recover my music?

And if yes, AutoFill still a function that works even more?

I had to put the music on another phone as well... but I'm not accidentally destroy their music too.

(For the record, everything I tried was auto fill.) I have not tried the synchronization and the error "wipe phone" thing never came).

Hello and welcome to Apple support communities, SlightlyAnnoyed.

If I understand your post right, you were unable to create a new playlist in iTunes using the incremental copy feature and your songs not purchased in iTunes had exclamation points and have also disappeared from your iPhone. My personal iTunes library is filled with a lot of music that has not been actually purchased on iTunes and I'd hate for them to disappear on me, so I can certainly understand why this would cause concern it.

When the songs show the exclamation marks in iTunes, it means that iTunes is not able to locate the music files on your computer. More than likely, if you have connected your iPhone to iTunes it began a synchronization and given that these music files could not be found when it synchronized, it their removed from the phone.

To answer your first question, Yes, it would be possible to recover your music. However, to make the music come back really depends on where this music. If your music not purchased is stored on an external hard drive, you will need to have this hard drive connected to the computer so that the music to work with iTunes. For more information about how and where iTunes stores music, take a look at this support article:

Search and organize your iTunes media files

If you are not sure where your music not bought is actually stored, it would be preferable to follow the steps in this article to find the first location:

Search the file for an item that see you in iTunes

If you don't know where iTunes stores your content, open the window read:

    1. Select a file in iTunes.
    2. Mac: In the MenuBar at the top of your computer screen, choose file > read the information.
Windows: Press control and B on your keyboard to open the iTunes menu bar, and then choose file > read the information. Learn more about the menus in iTunes for Windows.
    3. Click the file tab.
    4. At the bottom of the tab, look to the right 'location', the address or the path where your file is located.

Some of your files may be stored in iCloud. For these files, read the information presents iCloud instead of a path to a location on your computer.

Once you have found your music, if you want to, you can add these songs to your iTunes Media folder. If you use a Mac, you can locate the iTunes Media folder by selecting Go > Home > music > iTunes from the Apple menu bar. If you are using a Windows computer, open .

For your second question, Yes, Autofill still is a function that works in the latest version of iTunes. Take a look at the following article for more information about the AutoFill feature incremented, including the section that starts with "fill your device with a random selection of songs using auto-fill":

12 iTunes for Mac: iPod, iPhone, or iPad sync

  • Changing the display of playlists

    Hello

Since a few days, I have an update to iTunes to version 12.4.0.119. I was a bit puzzled after JF the new 'design' He could probably good for developers. but for me that's not - older versions were better for work.

But the reason for my question is the following:

I made a playlist (it took a lot of time, because I found no "more symbol" to create the list of reading (or folders) no more. Now, I have found a way to create the selection by scroll down and right-click in the last playlist 'nothing' - then a popup menu appears and I choose 'Create a new Playlist'.

And it is the second biggest problem. I can't change the playlists view more. In the old version, it was shown as a menu drop-down (more often called "songs" (or other)). There I could choose the playlist display. iTunes shows my new created of playlists in "playlist" mode, but I prefer mode "songs". But after installation of the new version of this button is gone and I don't know, where I can change the playlist display.

    Help, please!

    Thank you

    Mooble

    Hi Mooble,

To change the display on the reading list, select view in the view menu.

To more easily create a new playlist, select the song (s), right-click and select Add to Playlist - you will see "New Playlist" at the top of the list.

    Hope this helps /Bill

  • Music and playlists suddenly disappeared?

Hello, I opened my iTunes this morning and I find that I only about 100 songs of my 80 GB of music. The songs that do not appear in my library seem to be in the clouds where there is a symbol of download of cloud beside them. If I click on "Get Info" for the song, no location is displayed. I opened the iTunes preferences and check the location of my music and that's okay... All my music is in this place, the files are still on my computer but not in iTunes. In addition, all my playlists are gone too. Help!

Preferences didn't tell iTunes where to look for the media, it doesn't mean that iTunes where to store the data added from there on.

Launch iTunes while holding down the option/alt key and select the iTunes Library.itl file in the iTunes folder (assuming that you are using the default settings).  iTunes does not normally lose to this place, unless you use a library on another drive, but since you have not mentioned that at the beginning I must assume that you are using the default configuration.

  • Second time all my music was gone

This is the second time that this has happened, all my music on my phone just totally disappeared!

My phone is an iPhone of 128 GB 6 s more working 9.3.1

First time it happened I was listening to my music through my headphones, I stopped to talk to someone, you press play and nothing happened, had a look - ALL my music was gone. Everything else like photos/contacts etc were always there, that music has been removed. Not sure what ios I was running then, it was about 3/4 months ago not sure at 100%.

Second time this has happened was Saturday, April 30, I'm in my car for a weekend went away, to play music via bluetooth - DISAPPEARED again. All tracks, but still all of my photos etc always here and phone works perfectly well.

I have is home today, plugged in my phone to my pc and start iTunes, all my playlists were still there, but the music was gone.

I can't for the life of me think what is the cause, its taken me about 3 hours to put everything back on how I want to.

Can anyone shed some light on this for me?

If it happens again, I may return the phone to my network provider

  • Almost all of my music is gone!

    Hello world!

Good, so my music library normally consists of Apple's music that I downloaded saved on my device, bought music uploaded to the account of a member of the family (I have family sharing enabled) and purchased a few pieces on my own account. When I saw Beyonce album is available, I bought during school, but then download paused until I was connected to my wifi network that is better at home. After waiting for the download to the end, I noticed all my music disappeared, with the exception of the Beyonce album and some songs from my account that I bought recently to make a CD of the mixtape for my friend. These aren't even all my purchases, and I don't remember download these songs (although it is possible that they have downloaded).

Anyway, I really want my music back and a lot of thing I don't remember (I could recall some, but he had a lot of singles by artists). I restarted my phone several times and logged in and out of the iTunes account in iTunes. Help!

Update: all my playlists are gone too. Some were made by me, some were Apple's music playlists, and some have been shared.

  • How to remove all the songs in a playlist of my itunes library?

My request here is, is it possible that I can select all the pieces that I have selected in iTunes and delete all of these songs in my iTunes library. To clarify I'm asking not how to remove and individual songs or how to remove a playlist, I want the songs within a time to be gone, or deselected somehow.

Basically, I recently bought a new laptop and I've been moving all of my music from the old laptop to the new aid, sticks of memory of 8 GB that I don't have an external hardrive and would rather not pay for someone else to come and move the contents of my hard drive from one to the other. On my previous laptop, I had a playlist containing all the songs I want on my phone for synchronization purposes, as I had too much music to store it all. For reasons to keep this playlist and without having to build all over again I first transferred the music in the playlist of phone. The problem is I now want to transfer the songs that aren't in that playlist aswell, but I can't find anyway to select only the titles so that I can drag them into my memory stick. I can't delete the songs in the playlist one by one as there are almost 6000 titles in there then, obviously, that would be very time consuming.

Thanks in advance for any help you can give

I would recommend before you do anything destructive with your library you backup your iTunes for Windows with SyncToy library. It is also the tool I would recommend that you use to transfer the library to a computer, first back up and restore then (in a folder empty) to the other machine. Doing it this way means that you get the sides play heads of prosecution, playlists, date added, and that you don't have to erase and reload your content. It also ensures that you have a backup! Hard drives external are quite cheap and you should not skimp. That said, if the two computers are on the same network, you can use SyncToy to copy the iTunes folder from one to the other, if you open the folder music sharing on a computer, so it can be seen from the other.

As for the original question, Ctrl + A to select everything in a playlist. SHIFT-DELETE to remove it from the library. But I really wouldn't like that.

  • Delete the playlist

Somehow, I ended up with a Genius playlist, containing songs more 8 million in my iTunes. Whenever I go into iTunes and the attempt to delete the playlist, it will freeze iTunes and does not delete the playlist. Is there a file somewhere this playlist where I can remove it without using iTunes? What I've read, it seems that the playlists are all related in a file any? I don't care if deletes every playlist at this point, I just want it gone.

The songs have duplicated themselves many times over in this playlist, which is initially to show as many files. I do not have a lot of songs LOL

  • "Adding to playlist itunes purchase will download a copy on your computer.

What it means?  (Long story) I've recently updated to El Capitan 10.11.3 and also iTunes 12.3.2.35.  I have no game because it caused many problems for me.  I was happy to see 'Music' as a playlist that shows everything in iTunes is in this version.  The previous version I was using on OS 10.6.8 had that.

Looking at the list of reading music I noticed that I had a duplicate song.  We were already in one of my playlists where it belongs, and I could click "Show in Finder."  The other version was not in a playlist and I can't "show in Finder".  The quality of this version is better that the copy that I have on my computer so I decided to put the other in the trash and move the best copy in the playlist where the other was.  But when I tried I get this.

"Adding to playlist itunes purchase will download a copy on your computer.

I guess it is a purchased version, cloud or something and isn't really on my computer, Yes?  As far as I know, I don't have Apple cloud past.  I love my music real files on my computer and to be able to move them and organize them however and when I want to.  I don't want some music files mysterious that I may, or may not be able to listen to a certain point depending on what service I use, or a file that I need to download a copy whenever I want to put it in a playlist.  In addition, I don't want or need two copies of any song even if it's one I want, especially if I can't remove it if I want.

What happens here?  I've stuck with iTunes all these years, but it seems that whenever I update something is even worse... or am I just stupid for not getting it?

Okay what is happening with iTunes?  All my old playlists are gone and then this message "Add to itunes playlist purchase will download a copy on your computer" I just want to have playlists for my different moods, activities, etc..

I burned a CD of music seems to have disappeared.

    The difficulty of this shit!

  • Playlists ghost

    Hello world

When I got to my video, I drag ' filed a few songs in the folder of \Music (in MTP mode). Then I created some. PLA playlists by right-clicking and selecting "Create Playlist" (it was available with the 1.01.18 original firmware, but no more).

After awhile, I upgraded to 1.01.29 and then to 1.01.30. Now, the selection files disappeared and I can't delete them. The Clip still displayed in the menu of playlists, but they are not found in the file system of the PSG.

Is it possible to get rid of them without reformatting?

    -Elias

OK, problem solved.  I do not know why, but I think this addition and deletion of some songs in MTP mode forced the Clip to refresh its database. Now playlists are gone.

It seems that there are two databases, one for each mode. Since I was using MSC mode lately, the LMP database was not refreshing.
