Please specify: choose another drive than C:\

Win 8, subscribed. Tried to change the installation path to D:\. Using C:\ for Windows on SSD. Summer pay monthly to CC for a year, and can not use it!

I can't install the suite all CC on an SSD of 256. According to this forum, I'm supposed to download "manual installation" versions that are tests? Really? Is this the only way?

In this case, I might as well cancel my subscription and start a legal process requesting a refund.

Thanks for the help, William! It worked. Thereafter.

I changed the two paths, for applications and files to D:\, but CC still installed on C:\ drive.

Thought I'd give a second trial, however, because it has worked for you. Uninstalled, downloaded the CC Manager and saved on my D:\. Paths changed to D:\Adobe and I tried install Photoshop and installed in the same folder as the Manager (D:\Downloads). Thus, the good player, but the wrong file.

It gave me an idea. Everything uninstalled again, downloaded the Manager D:\Adobe and Heureka! Photoshop is now installed there too. Hope that other programs/applications will do the same.

But I must say that I have never known anything like this with any other software. Change the installation path is really a function of base... And I still have to find on what drive to work using Photoshop.

I use Windows for 20 years now I have windows 7. This is the Frist time I saw it. Basically, you download the software. In this case Wizard101. As long as I have the installers program because they always ask who drive you want to install on. This program automatically installs on C:\. If you have Windows 7 or Vista, due to the restrictions of the operating system, you will not be able to install Wizard101 to another drive. Response If you are a user of Windows XP should not be a problem.  Once you open the installation program will ask you with an option to change the folder Desitantion.  To do this, simply press on browse and then select the folder that you want to install Wizard101 to.

If you are a Windows Vista user, you are not able to change where Wizard101 is installed on your machine.  Vista will by default use the game to download on your C drive.

Here's my Question.  Who is responsible for this problem?  Entertainment Microsoft or Kingslsle and who do I go to fix this and please if I can I hope to have a Tech Mircrosoft meet this.  If I can get the truth of the facts.

    Hello Sithchean,

It is the manufacturer of the software whether if they offer a command prompt to change the default location where to put their software.

However, you can make a change in the registry which will allow the programs to install on another drive.

Go to start button, in the start search box type regedit. Click OK.

NOTE: Change the settings of the REGISTRY can cause serious problems that may prevent your computer from starting properly. Microsoft cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the REGISTRY settings configuration can be solved. Changes to these settings are at your own risk.

[Highlight: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion] there is a string named ProgramFilesDir, by default the C:\ProgramFiles value. You can change the value of D:\ProgramFiles, and now any installed program will go to the new location of D:\ProgramFiles.

If please reply back and let us know if this helps with your question.

    Hello

This error can occur if there are problems of system files on the drive selected for the backup file location. Have you tried to save the backup to a drive or another location? Please try the following to fix the disc
[1] method: Using Check Disk to find the files corrupt
    • In the start menu, look for invites
    • Right click on command prompt and select run as administrator
    • When the application starts, insert the following text and press ENTER: Chkdsk.exe/f/x k:
Where we mean K:  the disc damaged.
NOTICE: Check disk is maybe not able to lock the drive and launch the operation if the disk contains files required for Windows to run correctly. It asks if you want to schedule a check disk at the next startup upwards instead.

  • Can't choose Bridge CS6 hides folder on another drive/partition

    Hello

I just installed Photoshop CS6 and noticed a no criticism, but nevertheless annoying problem in Bridge (platform: Win7 x 64):

When I try to move the folder cache (Menu: editing-> Preferences-> Cache-> location, and then pressing the 'Choose' button), the selection of the path that opens is actually incomplete dialog.

In other words, it shows all my records. In fact, it shows no partitions. It just default to the user usual directory (on partition C :), but not will not appear (and therefore: won't let me choose) any other partition.) To be more precise: the folder root tree shown is the 'Office' folder in my home directory of the user - and that's all there is.

Since there is no field were I could enter (type) the path directly, I'm basically stuck now having my cache on C:. That is not where I want to. (I don't have enough space here)

    For comparison:

In Bridge CS5, the same dialog box works as expected: that is, when I scroll down, I can also see the other partitions and choose a path somewhere, say, drive F:

BTW: I also noticed this behavior even with the beta version of CS6, but was not concerned then because, well... it was just a beta, and I thought this somehting is also obvious that this would be fixed at the time the final version comes out... :-/

Is there another way to define the path to the cache?

Should I file a bug report?

Until someone asks: Yes, I uninstalled the beta version before you install the final PS CS6, and Yes, everything seems to work as it should.

Thanks in advance for any response.

    Kind regards

    Manual

P.S.: If necessary, I can provide screen captures of the dialog in question.

UPDATE: I just solved my problem - in a way that seems strange, but here...:

    1. It dawned on me ' if I can't choose anything outside my home directory of the user, perhaps I wrong Bridge by using another drive by putting a (aka shortcut) link it on my Windows desktop.
    2. I clicked on my desktop, created a new shortcut and chose the directory that I wanted to actually for the bridge cache (in my case: F:\caches\bridge_cs6)
    3. In the Bridge preferences, under Cache-> location dialog box, I hit the 'Choose' button again and chose the shortcut created earlier.
    4. And there, the path statement indeed seemed to search for the location on my F:\... by car.
    5. Now for the really strange part: after you closed and reopened Bridge (to see if it actually work and always be in the folder I want), I found that the opening of the path selector (i.e. the 'Choose' button) once again, it shows NOW EACH folder on EACH drive - just like he suddenly has (and always wants in CS5)

    Conclusion:

My little hack 'shortened' seemed to have somehow "fixed" Bridge CS6 inability to go beyond the C: drive (and my home folder) to the file cache.

    Strange... but I won't complain.

Thanks again, Curt, for your efforts. (Although they don't directly lead me to the solution, they made me think - and that's what counts.)

    Kind regards

  • Move the Users folder to another drive or partition under Vista 64

I want to move my full users folder to another drive or partition under Vista 64-bit.

I found these instructions to do with Windows 7 and confirm that they work very well on a Windows 7 computer I set up yesterday.
ROBOCOPY, RMDIR, MKLINK programs all exist in Vista and have all the command line switches such as specified in section of Windows 7.
I want to use junction points as described in the article, rather than messing around with search-and-replace in registry. The use of junction points is cleaner and easier to reverse if I ever need to move the Users back folder to its original location.
These same instructions for Windows 7 works with Vista 64 bit to move my users folder to a different hard disk or partition?

Well, I couldn't wait any longer for a response.

So I gave him a test and Windows 7 instructions work perfectly with Vista 64 - bit word. Hope it will be useful to someone else.

    Hello

You cannot move installed programs from one drive to another

During reinstallion of programs you would have the choice of which drive you want to install them on

  • another driver for 7520 which allows the size of the paper "custom".

I use photomerging to create panoramas that I want to print 4 x 13 (or more).  This was possible on my old Photosmart 6980 using the "Custom" paper format to add custom to the choice list of paper types.  Unfortunately, my new 7525 (of Costco 7520) doesn't have the size option 'Custom '. I see in the Forum several complaints on this subject and any suggestions to install the older drivers that enabled custom calibration.  What other driver should use (older, or maybe newer), which will still make full use of the quality photo Photosmart 7520 - cartridge printing full "564" set ink black photo as well as the tri-colors?

    Hi wgp.

I would like to offer a suggestion to help with the custom paper size is only not available with this new HP Photosmart 7520. The following steps are long, but I think this should help.

The 7520 printer should already be installed for all features.

Step 1. Download the BASIC driver package for the Photosmart C310a and extract the driver package

Step 2. Close the installation window that appears.

Go to "Devices and printers" and "printer properties", and then on the "ports" tab

Step 4. Then choose "Add a printer" in the devices folder and printers.

Step 5. Choose "add a local printer.

Step 6. Choose "Use an existing port" and in the drop-down list.
Choose the one with the 7520

Step 7. In the next screen, select 'Have Disk'.

Step 8. Open your temp folder (type folder in the start search bar and click on enter) and then open the folder 7zxxxxx where software C310a extracted to.

Copy the path and paste it into the box that is displayed in step 7 and press 'Ok '.

Step 9. Choose the driver for the HP Photosmart Premium C310 series and click "next".

Step 10. The name of the printer. (You can call the printer something unique as "Custom sizes Printer' so that you know how to identify it). Then click on "next".

Step 11. Choose not to share the printer and click "next". Then choose whether to set as default and click on "Finish". (Do not print a test page to this point).

Step 12. Now open the file that you were trying to print and choose the new driver "Custom sizes Printer", then click on 'Préférences' or 'properties '.

Step 13. Go in the "Features" tab and under "Size", choose "Custom".  A window will come up to you to identify the size, choose the width and length and record the size of paper. Set your preferences and click on 'Ok '.

Step 14. Press 'OK' in the 'Properties' window and the 'printing' window and your document should now print to your printer on a custom paper size.

Please, let me know how it works for you.

    Thank you
