PLEASE STOP MAKING DESKTOP SHORTCUTS

PLEASE, I BEG YOU! Whenever you update, which is too often, anyway, you create the most useless shortcut of the world on my desktop, without asking me, and even if I delete it EVERY time, you again the next day. Stop, Adobe. Quit smoking in reckless, selfish jerks. If I want a shortcut, I'll make one. If you want me to have one, ask me. But stop thinking that it's OK for you to dictate to me what goes where. It is not to you.

coldesi,

We are fellow users and this is a user to user forum. If you wish to communicate your desire to Adobe channel is:

https://www.Adobe.com/cfusion/mmForm/index.cfm?name=wishform

And Yes, a lot of people agree with you. Your mission, if you agree to accept, is convince to drop their own presentation as possible. Adobe does things by the numbers. If enough people let Adobe know, they can change the behavior of the installer.  For example, that they might ask if you want a shortcut on the desktop.

  • How can I add missing icon to the desktop shortcuts

Question too much techno for me... I have several desktop shortcut icons... For most of those who appear as the Mozilla Fox, which is fine, but unfortunately, there are too many icons in Firefox, and I wanted to change some REAL WEB SITE icon, or the favicon. How will I know how to do this? Thank you!

It is not a matter of Firefox making it simple - the Windows operating system controls the desktop icons, so with 3rd party Windows applications automatically use the application for the shortcut icon, but it is possible to change the image of what you want.

If you want the image of the Web site that the site to use for the URL bar as a shortcut on the desktop icon to a Web site:

    1. Define the shortcut on the desktop.
    2. Find and save the image you want to use for this shortcut.
    3. Then right click on that shortcut, then open properties > shortcut on the shortcut menu for the shortcut on the desktop, then use "change icon...". " and "Browse... ". " your hard drive for the image you want to use for the shortcut on the desktop.

Insofar as find and save the Favicon of the site, see the screenshot below.

    1. Locate the icon on the Info Page > media tab and click on it once so it is highlighted, then view this picture in the preview window of media down and also check the Dimensions 32 x 32, if the image is not a picture of Type X-ICON.
    2. Then use the button Save under to save this image - name which has saved something unique, as (for example this forum) mozilla - favicon.ico image then you can tell him apart from any other favicon.ico image you may have saved or save.

If you want to use your own choice of an image, you can convert the image into an image to favicon.ico here.

    http://Tools.dynamicdrive.com/favicon/

When you create a favicon.ico for use as a desktop image, make sure that you select the option merge with a 32 x 32 desktop icon on this page.

  • How can I remove shortcut arrow sign of my desktop shortcut?

I know some software (TuneUp Utilities) can remove desktop shortcuts arrow sign. But, is it possible to remove the sign of the arrow from shortcuts on the desktop settings in Windows? Please, let me know. So, how can I remove arrow shortcut in Windows 8 sign? I don't want to use third party software to do.

OS: Windows 8 Pro with WMC

Short answer: no, there is no setting in the front-end interface for this.  There is no switch.

    But...

You can do this by editing the registry yourself.  I recommend doing a first system restore point, so you can easily cancel your changes if something is wrong. 30 seconds spent doing a quick control point can save hours and days of disaster later.  To create a restore point, go to your start page and type "create restore point" and select the appropriate option in the settings search results.

Once you have made your point of control, you can use these instructions to modify the registry:

    http://www.computerperformance.co.UK/WIN8/Windows8-remove-shortcut-arrow.htm

Note: This is not supported. Microsoft technical support will not help you if there are problems with the registry change.  That's why you should make a checkpoint first.

  • Desktop shortcuts won't open firefox after an update of the player software "shockwave."

I can go to my email and click on the links to web pages open firefox, but not the office shortcuts. This happened after being invited to install this software while trying to watch a video on facebook.

The URL bar is also known under the name of the address bar and the address bar, and Firefox he calls the "Awesome Bar" when combined with the search bar.

None of this is complicated - you enter the address of the site you want to visit, for example, https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/in the URL bar. Firefox actually fills the http or www for you. If you want to know what URL, you enter "URL" for Google or similar search bar to search for this term.

If a right click > open does not work on the desktop shortcuts, you need more expert help.

  • Desktop shortcuts / re: Java/Adobe

    Help! 1

I get java and Adobe arise to upgrade/update and that you have installed once, but they stop my work shortcuts I get; Cannot open, shortcut Protocol "http" doesn't have a registered program.

I uninstalled these and problem solved, but Adobe frustrated and needed, I installed it, Google Chrome came with it now return to shortcut even issues after uninstall them.

I have a Compaq Presario a little over 2 years. A Windows 7. Should I Java and Adobe? and why are they screwing up my computer.

Hello hakim.  I understand you get shortcut errors when you have Adobe Flash and Java installed.

Should certainly not have Flash or Java to use your computer.  However, you would miss out on a lot of online content.  I see no reason this would happen, but it seems that one of these two applications is causing your shortcuts be dissociated.  Try the following.

    1. Install Flash and Java.
    2. Restart your laptop.
    3. Click Start.
    4. Locate default of"programs" in the Start Menu.
    5. Select "Set your default programs."
    6. Select Google Chrome.
    7. Select "Choose default for this program."
    8. Check 'select all '.
    9. Save your changes.
    10. Restart and check if the problem persists.

Have a great day!  Let me know if it solves your problem.
