Plug Ethernet is loose

Hello

Until recently, my Imac has been connected via an ethernet cable and it worked perfectly. But now she is capricious. I started using the wifi connection and yet, I'm still obsessed with why, how it became loose. Sometimes if I just move it he gets working 2 minutes then said again that the cable is not connected.

I tried different cables, but it seems to be the same for all. Given that she is a mid 2011 model, I don't think I can ask apple to replace parts, but do you know if I can find a plug to replace it myself?

Thank you

Asli

No, the jack is part of the main logic board. Replace the Jack means replace the main logic board.

  • OfficeJet Pro 8610: 8610 plugged Ethernet think he lost the connection but eventually prints

I have a 8610 connected to 2 PCs; USB, an ethernet.  The ethernet connected printer is configured on the PC as a network printer.   When we print the Ethernet connected PC sometimes it prints immediately and we sometimes these messages:

When we get the messages the printer has his light and isn't in offline mode I can find.    If we simply not do whatever it is, the printer communicates eventually and the job will print.

Anyone know why this is happening and how to fix it?

Note: we had this PC configured to print wireless but had long delays in printing that indeed.   It's faster with ethernet connection is operating properly.

    Hello tilzie,

    Welcome to the HP Forums.

The issue you described concerning the communication of the question, it looks like that is having a problem of recovery since printers sleep/standby mode.

First of all, please make sure that you have the printer power cable connected directly to a wall outlet and not a bar/power strip. Here is a document that uses a LaserJet printer for example, but it is intended for HP products in general. Please click the link which explains the problems when connected to an uninterruptible power supply/Strip/surge protector power.

I also suggest that we run the HP print and Scan Doctor.  I would like to know if the doctor fails, or if you see the error codes.

    See you soon,.

  • DeskJet 6940: ethernet connection between the new modem and printer does not transmit Mac

I just installed a new modem to Qwest; It works wirelessly with my iMac 10.11. My old (but functional until yesterday) Deskjet 6940 is connected to the modem via Ethernet. When I try to print, the document seems to be transmitted to the printer, but then it hangs on and I get the message "the printer is not connected" - which it is, plugged, ethernetted, and set in motion. Support of Qwest says that only 10% of the info from the computer are the printer, but he seems to think that the part of the new modem Ethernet is functional,

I have already tried all unplug/restart/send/add printer new check/updates / IP (cannot connect) / ethernet ports and cables, etc.

    Any other ideas?

    Thank you!

    Hi @newgranny,

Thanks for getting back to me.

It is good that the printer has been able to print a diagnostic page.

Ensure that the router and firewall on the market do not block these ports.

    Ports of printing:

    • UDP ports: 427, 137, 161
    • TCP port: 9100

    Card photo upload:

    • UDP ports: 137, 138, 427
    • TCP port: 139

    The HP device status:

    • UDP port: 161

    Ports of Web Services:

    • UDP and TCP: 80, 443, 5222 and 5223

    Hello Ports:

    • TCP and UDP: 5353 and 5297, 5298

Unplug the wired network (ethernet cable), restore the default values on the printer.

    Restore the default settings.

Follow these steps to reset the printer to factory default settings:

    1. check that the printer is on.

    2. press and hold down the button to report Page.

3 while holding down three times the homepage button, press the Cancel button.

    4. release the report Page button.

    Bob,

Try connecting the cable Ethernet on another computer just to check if the problem reappears.

Given that the question does not appear in safe mode, we will try to uninstall and reinstall the network drivers and check if it makes a difference.

First, visit the computer manufacturer and download the latest maps for your computer network and save it to the desktop.

-Remove the plug Ethernet from the computer.

-Device type in the search Manager start and press to enter.

-Browse the network adapters, right-click on the network adapter and click on uninstall. (Do the same for all riders shown under network adapters)

-You may be asked to remove the drivers, press Yes and continue.

-Restart the computer and then install the drivers that you have downloaded from the computer manufacturer.

-Connect the Ethernet cable and check if you have the Internet connection.

-Restart the computer once more and check if the problem reappears.

    Let us know the results.

    Hello

    You are the very welcome.

I bought an Actiontec Powerline adapter. It was about 50,00 USD.

Everything will work. Dear sound usually gives a higher flow.

You don't have to uninstall the card wireless on your PC.

Really easy to implement. Plug an adapter into the wall socket close to router. The provided plug ethernet cable into the port on the router and the port on the wall adapter. Repeat the process by plugging it to the wall adapter near your PC. Connect the ethernet cable supplied to the wall jack and the ethernet port on the PC.

    You're good to go.

  • Helps the headphone jack!

    Welcome.

So about 4-5 months ago, I bought a brand new HP Pavilion PC g6.
A few months later (2-3) I started to have problems with the sound. Whenever I plugged the headphones, the sound would not come to her. First of all, I thought it was the helmet that I was using. It turns out that it wasn't. Then I thought it was something with audio players or anything else. (Control Panel-> hardware and sound-> manage audio devices). It turns out that it wasn't.

The problem started as my helmet is sound but cut wide in some places. I have to play with the headphone jack and move it a bit to get the sound. At that time, portable headphone plug was already loose. Then, for about 5-10 minutes, something really strange happened. His was no more. I couldn't not all the sounds if it was for my headphones or speakers of my laptop.

After about 10 minutes, the sound is back after a reboot. However, the sound was weird and glitch. I mean, is that whenever I plug in the headphones, 55% of the sound would come through them, but the other 45% would come out of my laptop speakerks.
Yet once again, I thought it was the helmet, but no. Even with multiple changes of helmet and try them on different computers, the headphones were great. I started thinking that it was the helmet being loose which caused all these problems. I started to look for solutions. I came across a post of aid for the same issue: being loose headphone jack.
Most of them said that if the helmet was not directly related to the motherboard, that the issue would be fixed easly.

    My question is:
    (1) how will I know if the headset is connected to the motherboard directly?
    (2) how can I fix the problem if;
    (a) it is directly connected.

    (b) if it is not connected to it directly.
    (3) the headphone plug is loose have EVERYTHING link to my sound works does not correctly.

Thank you and more information will be provided on request.

Additional information: I know that HP laptop computers have a 1 year warranty, however, how do I check for mine?

    Hi kamel.

    1. with the hardware problems, it is best to contact support for your options before going inside the laptop.

    2. If you notice that you are not covered by your phones warranty, if you provide me with your laptop model number, I'll see if there is a maintenance and service guide. (another workaround of the guarantee is to get a USB headset connected)

< How can I find my laptop model number >: http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c00033108

    3. Yes, he seems to have everything to do with the question.

  • Portege R700: How turn off WLAN when the connection to the local network is available

    Hello

    I am the owner of Portege R700, with Windows 7 x 86.
I want to find a way to disable WLAN automatically when I plug Ethernet.

I tried to enable the following setting:

"Device Manager", "Network Adaptaters", "Broadcom 802.11n", 'Advanced', 'Disable on cable connection' = enable. "

But it does not work. Do you have another idea for me?

    Thank you in advance.

    Hello

I think that to do this automatically, you should not use certain software/tools for part 3.
Looks like applications BridgeChecker or protective Wireless does this job very well.

Check that a feedback would be appreciated.

  • How can I configure a new TimeCapsule for an existing network without having to activate the internal networks?

I tried to go in advance and choose "Add TimeCapsule to the existing network", but it keeps defaulting to 'add a new network '.

without having to activate the internal networks?

"Add TimeCapsule to the existing network.

You cannot add a TC in an existing network, if there is.

You must configure the TC for the network.

It keeps default back to "add a new network.

So, it's OK... The TC is part of an existing network or makes a new.

You must connect to the TC network... either wireless or ethernet.

However, you can manually configure the TC simply plug ethernet for example.

See, cable using Time Capsule for Mac for backup only.

The same can be done for the wireless... but a TC is really the bad device for backups if you don't have a network... It's cheaper, faster and more reliable by using a USB key.

  • OfficeJet 8620 two problems one) Win7 firewall connection wifi and b) the printer multi-network

Bought the printer this afternoon and set up a computer - connection to a printer with wifi as advised in the closed paper work and CD. No problems.

When I put it in place of the second computer (with wifi) using the CD provided, I received an error message that the hp software can see the given IP address printer but he could not automatically connect using the "typical connection method. Tips in the dialog box has been to change the settings of firewall computer method of 'typical connection '. Any advice on what this might be. Looking at the Win7 firewall, all HP printer software are checked for the home network and the public. What else the firewall must Win7 allow to operate the automatic printer connection?  BTW, I followed the advice of the installation software and punted for the moment. The warning by the software that was if the printers IP address changes, I'll have to manually change it into the computer with the firewall issue (ugh).

That leads to the second problem:

A couple of my computers are ethernet only. No wifi. When I plug ethernet to the 8620, it defines an IP address for itself on ethernet, but he abandoned the wifi IP address. How can I feel some ethernet connected computers and some wifi connected ones.

Any constructive advice is VERY WELCOME.

I apologize in advance if there is already a solution posted either of these problems; I couldn't find searching them the forum.

    Lenny W.

    Hi lennyw07016,

Thanks for letting me know that worked for you.

I suggest the setting up of a static IP address. In this way the router will always assign the same IP address to the printer.

Printer does not keep the wireless connection.

Proceed to Solution 3: printer of the assign a static IP address.

Here is a document for configuration of a firewall to allow a connection with the all-in-one Windows.

You can check if you like.

    Thank you.

  • Airport Extreme to extend Time Capsule Gen1

I just bought an Airport Extreme and wonder if I set up correctly to maximize my wireless speed.

    1 Internet provider router

2 Time Capsule Gen - 2 to - 2 802.11n (NETWORK WITHOUT WIRE ORIGINAL "MAX")

    3 airport Extreme (NEW) - 802.11ac 'MAX-EXTREME.

Wired router ISP, connects to Time Capsule (MAX)

Wired router ISP, connect to Airport Extreme

During the installation of MAX-EXTREME, I opted for 'extend' by using MAX-EXTREME MAX. While "MAX" is broadcast in my house. What is the optimal configuration?

Let me know if I should reconfigure the network.

I want to just make sure I am maximizing my wireless speed and range.

    Thank you!

You cannot extend when you link Ethernet... you created a loop of large networks.

Router ISP... Ethernet... Max-Extreme... Ethernet... SCI

In this configuration, the TC is configured in bridge... and creates a... wireless network you can use the same name and the same Max-Extreme security... This is called roaming network. Never use measurement when you plug ethernet to a router.

    OR

Router ISP... Ethernet... Max-Extreme... wireless. SCI

In this configuration, TC is set to expand wireless Max-Extreme... no wired connection.

The first configuration is far superior. And apple recommends to install more wireless roaming range.

  • I discover airport Time Capsule via a non-Apple router?

Hi, I have a WiFi router non - Apple I want to use it as a main router. I've disabled the WiFi AirPort Time Capsule option and plugged into the LAN 1 of my primary router port. Now I can connect all devices correctly to my main router with the exception of the time Capsule. In addition, on my MacBook AirPort Utility cannot find the router Apple AirPort TimeCapsule more. Is it possible to find out the time Capsule in this way?

The ethernet connectivity is light, the TC and the router main LAN port?

I presume that the TC is in bridge mode? Why turn off the wifi... It's always useful to have, especially as all later Mac OS seem to expect wireless now rather than ethernet, airport utility, in particular, is lost without her.

Plug ethernet directly in the TC from your computer...

Change the utility Airport on ethernet... have you thought this step...? If this is not the case, the AU shows nothing.

No, you can't go from Ethernet to HDMI.

This computer has a VGA port on the left side, see pages 1-9, 1-10 of Maintenance and Service of Guide.  If your TV has a VGA

    a port that works.

There are 3rd party product HP does not support that can go from USB to HDMI.

  • Area connection icon gone: no Internet connectivity

Summary of the problem: No "Local network connection" icon in the "Network connections" folder No internet connectivity.

I recently attempted to get on a wireless network connection, but my computer was a 169.254.x.xxx IP address each time. To try to solve this problem, I entered the network connections folder and tried "Configuration of the home network or small office." I went through the steps and tried to configure the wireless. I then rebooted.

After the reboot, I opened my network connections folder to see that my Local network connection icon disappeared completely. When I plug a plug ethernet from my computer, the light just above the CAP does no more Flash.

When I bring the network connections folder, I see "Wireless network connection" and "1394 connection", but none of my Local network connections that were once there. I tried a system restore and tried the steps outlined on this page, but nothing helps:

Thank you for your help in this matter.

    Hi ktkenshinx

As you said, and I understand it, it could be the problem of device driver. Please check the device driver and a device ethernet in the device for the operation Manager.

If the device driver is the problem. Install the device driver. SShrestha
