Plugin VIX

Is there an updated version of the VIX Plugin for vCenter Orchestrator who takes in charge of vSphere 5.  The old plugin (1.10) is not work with vSphere 5 and return "impossible to create the Vixserver:Null object.

I'm trying to run a script in linux, other scripts or suggestions are welcome.

Thank you

I guess you could integrate vmrun in a workflow by using the command object, you need to activate vCO run programs the... but, as mentioned in my first reply here, the functionality provided initially by the VIX plug-in is now a piece of the database API for vCenter 5 and this link: http://communities.vmware.com/docs/DOC-19918 has sample workflows to start using this api. These workflows for example for operations will be included in future versions of our core library workflows.

Your log says: "Unable to load library 'vix'" - done-a you try to install the VERY OLD, obsolete plugin VIX on this host? If so, which causes all sorts of problems.

1 it requires a basis of vCO Windows Server.

2 If the initial configuration workflow is not running, it screws the other workflows

3 If the library files are not unpacked in the correct on the vCO Windows Server folder, random questions appear throughout many parts of the vCO.

  • Resettlement prospects

    Hello

I decided to go back to the Orchestrator windows version.

Everything looks ok, except that now the Outlook does not work.

I removed the plugin OK, but he left all the workflow etc., behind.

I removed the 'perspectives' package and added the plugin, but the package was not re-added.

don't know what to do at this point.

Is there a "good" way to delete the plugin and reload the "Outlook" from scratch package?

These may be irrelevant, but I still wonder, because these two cause unforeseen complications:

    1. Do you have more than 3 GB of memory allocated to this server?
    2. You have installed plugin VIX
      1. If VIX plugin is installed, you have extracted library files in a folder on your server of vCO and added this folder to the system path environment variable?
  • VIX plugin crashes to connect to the server

    Hello

I just tried to use the plugin for the first time VIX to copy files to a guest, but the Workflow Runtime seems to hang in the connectToServer action. Workflows are not lacking, they just keep running. I have a few workflow running almost two hours now. Unfortunately, it is not all errors in the log files of vCO.

To test, I created a little workflow running only connectToServer action. The connection does not work there either. If anyone has experienced this before? I use vCO 4.2.1.

    Thank you very much.

    Christopher was told this thread.

Call putFile() is unique for the next version of the workflow plugin Library for the GuestOpsManager VCO as has been pointed out by Christophe.

You can use the URL for an HTTP PUT, but we ended up using the HTTP REST plugin to support HTTPS connections to avoid the internal controls of SSL certificate.

    I posted a simple package of GuestOps - http://communities.vmware.com/docs/DOC-19918

It doesn't support currently only four workflows (based on a need, I got for a project):

Copy the comments - local copy VCO to the guest OS file system

Copy the resource for Guest - copy VCO guest operating system resource element

Create the directory in guest - create folder in the guest operating system

Run the program in Guest - run the program in the guest operating system

In addition, a small note.  If you make several, copy the simultaneous guests, set the parameter to KEEP REST HOST = TRUE entry in the workflow.  It can create a synchronization condition where the HOST REST is deleted mi flow during execution of the workflow of an another VM copy file comments.  In my view, the last edition, I did sets the default value TRUE to keep the REST host configuration to avoid this problem.

  • vCO device and VIX Plugin

The VIX Plugin works with the vCO device?

The installation instructions are related to a windows environment, I do not expect the .dll files that you want to work in a Linux environment.

    Thank you

    Dave

    No it will not work.

The VIX client used by the plug-in is essentially a Windows DLL.

  • Orchestrator and VIX Workflow Plugin

    Hi guys

I will have two streams of work:

    • Clone and sysprep
    • Copy files, run a Script, the Delete Directory, restart

So when I run the first workflow (Clone and Sysprep) ended successfully

When I run (copy files, run a Script, remove the directory, Reboot) it has also successfully completed

But when I add workflows (copy files, run a Script, remove the directory, restart) the workflow (Clone and sysprep) he has still failed on the beginning of the workflow (copy files, run a Script, remove the directory, restart)

Error message is the virtual machine must be turned on.: 3006

    Screenshots of workflow:

    Clone and Sysprep

    Clone and Sysprep.png

Copy files, run a Script, the Delete Directory, restart

Copy Files, Run a Script, Delete Directory, Reboot.png

    Any ideas?

    Hello!

If I see on the right, you have bound the bad VcVirtualMachine to the copy of the files...-Workflow:

You don't need the flow of job-input-parameter "vm", but the result of the task of cloning: tempNewVM

When you bind this stream of work-attribute of the workflow element copy files, it should work.

    Kind regards

  • How to remove a Mail plugin without having to open the mail

I use a particular mail plugin that has been very helpful so far upward. However this plugin has just been updated so that the Mail does not open and I get the error message refers to a problem with the HockeySDK I see that has just installed this plugin. I am waiting to hear the developer about it, but in the meantime I can't use the Mail on my Mac. Because I can not open the Mail I can't delete the whole plugin in the normal way. Is there another way I can remove this plugin in the meantime, until this problem is solved?

    Hello, RobbieSnr!

Thank you for using communities of support from Apple!  I see you are having some problems with third party plug-ins that you use with your Mail from Mac app.  I know how it is important to be able to use your communication by e-mail, I'd be happy to help you to get this working again!

Because I don't know anything about this point the plug-in you use, it is difficult for me to tell you how to uninstall.  I had an idea to get your e-mail application to open, however!  First of all, make sure that you have completely left the Mail (no point below on the platform) app.  Then, hold down the SHIFT key on your keyboard and then as you are now, click on the Mail app icon to open it.  Now keep Shift during the charge of the Mail application.  The app needs to stay open for you, then you can remove your plug-in in the usual way you mentioned.

You can find more information on this feature in the section called "when you open and exit an application" in this paper: automatically re - open windows, applications and documents on your Mac

  • Is it possible to have a common accessible file location for the main application in the sandbox and its extension app plugin

I'm trying to launch an app on the app store for mac. The bundle of the main application and everything inside it is on sandbox.

The main application Bundle identifier is com.xxx.core.app . The identifier for the internal Plugin Finder Extension application Bundle is com.xxx.core.app.extensions .

Now the problem is the extension inner finder is also available in sand and trying to read a file written by the main application.

The main application writes the file location depending on mac OS X, for example temp/var/folder/jv11743453495593/T/com.xxx.core.app

But the internal Plugins try to read/var/folder/jv11743453495593/T/com.xxx.core.app/extensions

Because of the different bundle identifiers, they have different containers.

Can someone let me know how to limit the same application and its plugins to the same folder location. Does perform a work around for this problem.

    Hello yuktikapahwa,

See the Sandbox Apple Guide under the ApplicationDirectory group container

You must create a group that your container can access. I'm not 100% certain that this will work with extensions of Finder, but it seems the most logical place to start.
