Popout Firefox not generating tab links

When I am browsing and I press Command + N (on a mac) and it pops up a new window, it has a tab on top that I can combine with the other tabs.
When I click on a link in a Web site (as google drive my account google for example), a new window opens without a tab at the top (it is not only google). Everything else on the browser still works, but there was some sort of update that changed that?
If anyone else has noticed this?

It seems that you are facing a problem other new users have discovered with some links in the Windows of private browsing with tabbed browsing is turned off.

To confirm, it's how you feel:

(1) you have turned off the default "tabs" in preferences navigation setting - so Web site links coded to open in a new window are not diverted to a new tab instead

(2) when you click on a link that specifies the opening in a new window (using the target = "_blank" attribute) the new window has only a partial toolbar, no bar menus, no toolbar bookmarks and maybe no scroll bar

For now, if you don't like tabbed browsing, I think that the best solution is to hold the SHIFT key while clicking on links. Firefox then will launch the link in a new window with the same menus and toolbars in the launch of the link window.

One of the changes in Firefox 4: by default Firefox 4 does not display the warning message when closing multiple tabs, but it can be turned on again by changing some preferences. Note: it was a decision by the developers. On this forum, we are all volunteers without compensation here to help other users. Develop them and employees of Mozilla/Firefox rarely, if ever visit here.

    1. Type of topic: config in the URL/address bar and press the Enter key
    2. Accept the warning message (promise to be careful)
    3. Open the preferences/list page
    4. Filter = browser.tabs.warnOnClose
    5. If its value is set to false, double-click top (in the lower panel) to toggle its value to true
    6. Repeat steps 4 and 5 for the 3 following preferences also:
      • browser.warnOnQuit
      • browser.warnOnRestart
      • browser.showQuitWarning

  • E-mail links when you click causes Firefox open multiple tabs, unable to close one of them, in other words, accidents. Does anyone else have this problem?

I can't click on links email on all pages. It causes Firefox open multiple tabs a lot, a lot, I can't close. My only recourse is to exit Firefox and restart it. It happens most of the time, while for clicking an e-mail link I have to open another browser altogether.

  • Two BIG problems: Firefox clears the tabs and will not save preferences

    Long story:
I'm on a 2009 15 "Macbook Pro Intel Core 2 Duo with OS X 10.6.8. A few weeks ago I started suddenly problems with some features in Gmail... but only in Firefox. Specifically, I was no longer able to preview attachments in the new Gmail attachment viewer. After a long back-and-forth on the Gmail forum with no results, I turned to Firefox. After having poking around in Firefox Help, I decided to reset Firefox. This solved the problem with Gmail, but in turn created two new more serious problems with Firefox: (1) I can't save my history settings in the privacy of the preferences tab (I want to use the custom settings; whenever I have this option in the menu drop down and close prefs., as soon as I open Pref once again, the history of setting is default return "remember history"; (2) even more serious and obviously related: whenever I quit Firefox, all my tabs and groups of tabs went to the re-opening. I can restore the previous session, but this obviously isn't the solution.

I basically tried everything suggested in the articles referred to in the help of Firefox, reset Firefox again, trashing the prefs.js file in my profile folder (I have no other pref files - that is to say without "prefs - n.js or 'prefs.js.moztmp' or 'Invalidprefs.js'... I don't see not a user.js file in my profile folder either). I even used the disk utility to repair permissions on my Mac HD... for all that is worth it.

I'm so sick of everything that I am seriously considering ditching Firefox altogether. There, can someone help me understand what is happening?

Choose "Use the custom settings for history" allows you to see current history and cookies settings, but select this is not make changes to the parameters of the history and cookies.

Firefox displays "Use the custom settings for history" as an indication that at least one story and cookie settings is not the default to make you aware that the changes have been made.

If all the parameters of the history and cookies are by default, the custom settings are hidden and see you "conservation rules: (never) don't forget history."

The 'new' text frame will be drawn at the top of the right side of your menu bar, so it blocks the clicks to reach your last two menu items.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones Blackberry ID password reset email does not contain a link to reset the password!

Basically, I'm trying to reset my password for my Blackberry Curve Blackberry. I receive a password reset email when I ask, but the email does not contain a link to reset my password. ALL of the email is the following:

Does anyone know what is the problem? It is not my web browser which distort the enamel - I tried to retrieve the email from Firefox, Google Chrome and Internet Explorer.

It is very strange indeed... with only 2 causes possible I think.

    (1) your e-mail (on your PC) application blocking the link provided in the email... a lot of apps email will do that and sometimes you have to replace them. If you have another interface to use (for example, webmail interface, GMail and Outlook), then try the other and see if that helps. According to the messaging environment (for example, private corporate e-mail system), it is also possible that some bridge along the trail is stripping on the necessary link for safety.

    (2) the installation of e-mail to reset is actually broken, and enamel does not contain what it is supposed to. If this is the case, then it requires a formal attention to the RIM. The only way to achieve this is for you to contact the Association and to degenerate the RIM of your case.

    Good luck!

    Hello

Sometimes a problem with Firefox can be a result of malware installed on your computer, you may not be aware of.

You can try these free programs to search for malicious software that work with your existing anti-virus software:

Microsoft Security Essentials is a good permanent antivirus for Windows 7/Vista/XP, if you do not already have one.

More information can be found in the article troubleshooting Firefox problems caused by malware .

This solve your problems? Please report to us!

  • "Multi Tab Handler" recorded not several tabs

Extension Manager multi-onglet in FF17 recorded not several tabs. It is possible to select them, even to click on 'Save selected as files tabs' but then... nothing happens.

    Hello.

Multi Tab Handler is not a Mozilla add-on: while the addons are reviewed by Mozilla to ensure safety and performance, Mozilla does not support end-user for Addons; This task is located on the addon developers.

As related by https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/multiple-tab-handler/ support site is https://github.com/piroor/multipletab/issues and you can submit questions here.

Please let us know how it works for you. Thank you!

  • How to get firefox show all tabs?

How to get firefox show all tabs, like the other browsers, without scrolling and addons (TabMix and others)?

You can use the code in userChrome.css to set a lower minimum width for normal tabs (not pinned APP) to have several visible tabs on the tab bar.

The problem is that Firefox 13 + shows is no longer a list all tabs button, unless the scroll buttons are visible, so it can be difficult to locate the other tabs.
You would need to hover a tab to display the tool tip if you don't see the label.

  • Why can I not use tab key to move around in the Bookmark dialog box add?

It is a lot easier and faster if the tab key allows you to move in the Bookmark dialog box Add. Otherwise, it will be very annoying that every time that you add a bookmark, you have to catch a mouse.
Or could you recommend an addon I would add bookmark without using the mouse and the bookmark is organized simply into a tree?

Never tried this before in Firefox, but the Tab key works for me to navigate through the dialog box add a bookmark in Firefox on Ubuntu Linux 10.04 3,6.15. May be different in Win7 or you may have a problem with one of your addons.
