port 1394

A desktop HP Pavilion p7-1534 PC can be mounted with a Firewire card?  I have a Canon GL-2 I am trying to transfer video from.  I see questions similar, interviewed on other HP desktop computers, but not this model yet.  Thank you!!!

  • How can I read firewire no port 1394 on my laptop.

My computer laptop pavilion accepts all cards that could allow me to save data to tape DV camcorder from a camera with a fireware port.

    Hi Qsabe,

    Here is your Service Manual:

HP Pavilion dv6 Entertainment PC - Maintenance and Service of Guide

Look on Page 17.  See #10 - that slot on top of the extreme right, to the left of your laptop?  It is what we call an Express Card slot, it carries cards "54mm.

Map Ronald described in his Post is:

    FireWire 800 Expresscard - 2 port 1394 b 9-pin to 6-pin

It is another source for the product described, this one is by SIIG:

    http://www.ProVantage.com/SIIG-NN-ec2812-S2~7SII2085.htm

The square box little covered on your laptop (on that same left side) is the small 1394 connector that could have been bought as an option.

    Which one??

The truth is that you can probably use either the map OR the single cable converter.  Other opinions, it's your money and unless your DV camcorder manual warns you specifically for or against a certain type of material, then you can make your own decision.  Read your manual - go online and read what it says if you don't have a paper copy.

    Buyer beware:

See return policy your store before you buy if you can pick up something if you can't use it for some reason any.

    Check it out:

Go to the website of ProAdvantiage (above) and discover the SIIG device.  Find out what makes the device and why it is a good choice.

    My experience:

I have a single USB converter 1394 cable that I use on a very expensive Sony HD camera / VCR and it works very well.  I'm not a professional photographer.

Look at your manual.  See what he says and what you have on your machine.

Google more information.  Make your choice.

  • 1394 firewire card

Is he a 1394 card that works with Win 8 for caturing video from a camcorder?  So far, I tried two cards and no work.  This has been a problem with Win 7, but solutions are available.  I have yet to see a solution specifically to win 8.  Win 7 solutions will work to win 8?

Thanks for your comments.  I'm happy to announce that I can now capture video from a Sony camcorder via an installed 1394 port in my computer W8.  In case anyone is interested, I have installed a PCIe of SIIG Firewire 2-port card.  The computer did not come with firewire port 1394.  I use Power Director to capture and edit video.

This isn't a mandate or to approve the above but only to report to what works for me.  It may or may not work for others and of course there are probably other solutions (better possibley) available.

  • Unable to connect to a Sony DV from my laptop using the firewire port after the installation of updates

Original title: connection for Vista FireWire camcorder problem

I used to be able to connect my Sony DV camcorder to my laptop using the FireWire on the camcorder and laptop.   Once it is connected the Movie Maker detect my camcorder and automatically transfer the video.  However, since I've updated my computer laptop July 13, 2012, my laptop does not recognize not the camcorder.  I checked my computer and your camcorder is not yet listed.  I checked the latest updates for the driver of the firewire port 1394 and is the day the device is functioning properly.  Can anyone throw any light on this.  The only thing I can think is that since the update, he may have done something for the connection.

    Hi Scarlett,

Thanks for the post. I'm sorry to hear that the Sony DV camcorder is not detected.

I imagine the inconvenience that you are experiencing. I will definitely help you with this.
To help you suggest several steps to solve the problem, I would appreciate it if you could answer the following questions:

    1. What is the model number of the Sony DV camcorder?
    2. you receive an error code or message?

3 update do you have installed?

See the Windows updates are installed:

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/see-which-Windows-updates-are-installed

Please follow the methods and mark the question below:

    Method 1:

First of all, let us check the status of the FireWire port in Manager devices to do this, follow the steps below:

Check the status of the port in FireWire devices Manager

    a. Click Start, in the search box type Device Manager and press to enter.
    b. If you don't see the FireWire controller (probably listed under "IEEE 1394 Bus host controllers") in the list, then it is not correctly installed.
    c. If you see a yellow exclamation point, then you must install the drivers, who are usually on a CD that comes with the FireWire card with the camcorder.

    Method 2:

    Step 1:

Hardware devices do not work or are not detected in Windows

    http://support.Microsoft.com/mats/hardware_device_problems/en-us

    Step 2:

A device driver is not installed or a hardware device does not work correctly after you install a Service Pack in Windows Vista:

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/948187

    Method 3:

Connecting i.Link® (IEEE 1394) of the camcorder is not recognized by the computer.

  • need express pci card with firewire port laptop brand new

My wife has just bought a HP Pavilion model h8 - 1260t with Windows 7 64 bit.  She has a 30 "monitor film screen, which requires two USB ports, a DVI and Firewire 1394 port.  The new computer has no firewire port anywhere, but when it is opened, we see there are three slots PCIexpress available.  There are PCIe cards available 1394 (such as Rosewill PCIe model 3 Ports 1394 b RC-506E, as seen at http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16815166027), , but there seems to be a wide variety, and I don't know which to buy.

I am concerned about what transfer speed to get (I don't really know; is good enough 800Mbps?) and what power connector on the card (I want to be sure we have a power supply compatible plug) will take place, and I don't know the difference between 1394 and 1394b, or even if it makes a difference.  I can't just take the card out of the old computer because the firewire port is connected directly to the motherboard, and I think that the old computer is still pre-PCIexpress

The monitor is very good and quite expensive, so we really do not want to have to buy a new screen after spending so much on the computer.  I thought I had checked for compatibility with everything, but I guess I missed the requirement of firewire.  We spent almost all day today trying to get help in various stores, but nobody seems to be able to help.  We had to buy the computer online because there is no good nearby computer store, so I want to do ot I do not another mistake and end up buying two or three cards until I find myself on the whole correct.

Thanks a lot for any help

    Hello

If you cannot find a molex connector 4 unused and then look for a connector used 4 pins.  I would certainly find an adapter in Y for you.  The other option is to use an adapter SATA Y more than molex and tap into the hard drive power cable, or even use an unoccupied SATA power port.

  • ExpressCard for 1394 for D830

I have a Latitude D830 with a firewire port, built in. I currently have my external My Book 500 GB connected to it. Sometimes I have problems with the operating system not to recognize (usually if I swap cables).  I just bought a SIIG FireWire 800 ExpressCard to use for the My Book, use the built-in 1394 port for DV video capture. My problem is that when I installed the ExpressCard, external drive is not found using the 1394b cable (800 MB/s), neither could I use the built-in port 1394 a. Y at - it something on this set-up that I do no worse, or Dell not allow this configuration? If anyone has tried and succeeded, please let me know what to do.

  • Problems with the Firewire Audio Interfaces

I use a Presonus Firebox for all of my recording and playback. I just bought a new pc HP with Vista64 and I had problems with my audio since then. Symptoms include random audio dropouts, crackling sounds when you scroll through the menus in my software, no noise at all from windows media, no windows generally sound player. Everything works sometimes, but inevitably fails. Once the audio is de-energized my only solution is to restart the computer, and then it still doesn't work sometimes. I don't understand. My last computer was a couple of years and built the hand. It worked perfectly with this unit until the motherboard is dead after what I bought my new HP desktop with terrible results. The main difference between my pc and this one is that I was using XP and XP64. However, I have the right drivers for the home and the computer recognizes it but I can't operate consistantly and correctly. This new HP has more power than my last, and more then enough power for my needs recording software. I would like to know, I've been recording music on PC for 8 years. Any advice would be welcome.

I am now convinced that the long nightmare is finally over. I tested my home over and over again with no failures. Record and playback midi seem to work perfectly. Here's what I did:

1 optimized my computer for audio streaming using the guide written by sweetwater.com.

2 uninstall all the drivers from Presonus and all software, including the removal of all PreSonus files on the registry using the instructions provided by the technical support of PreSonus.

3 disabled WLAN and then physically disconnected from the motherboard.

    4. my computer has two firewire ports. The front port was connected to the motherboard via a short cable. I physically unplugged the cable from the motherboard.

    5. I bought an Express(1x) PCI firewire 400 card with a Texas Instruments chipset. The exact brand is inner Pro PCI Express(1x) 4 port 1394 a. The firewire card is a power port. I plugged the power jack on the same line, connected to the DVD player. I don't know if it's important, but I'll try to document EXACTLY what I did. The firewire card requires no driver work. It came with a disc with a B.S. video editing software I was not installed.

    6. I turned on my computer and disabled the built-in firewire in Device Manager, leaving only the new active firewire card.

    7. I installed the drivers from the Firebox from the original disc supplied with my unit (v1.20.0). I had good results from these pilots in the past that may be because I use XPsp2.

    8. I have connected the combustion chamber when prompted to by the installation software.

    9. rebooted the computer with the combustion chamber connected and everything's fine.

    By the way:

The inner firewire card cost me $ 30.00

    My computer specs are:
    HP a6745f desktop
Dual core AMD 5050e 2.6 GHz
    XP sp2
    GigsRAM 4 (3.25 because I'm on XP)

If you are confused in the store on the question of whether a firewire card uses a Texas Instruments chipset. Try to get a glance at the map. You should see a chip bearing the logo of TI: the State of Texas, w / Ti. YeeeeeeeHawwwww!

  • What the correct update BIOS for my Lenovo R61?

    Main question:

I have a Lenovo R61 15.4 "laptop computer screen with IEEE. 1394  What is the good BIOS update version for my system?

    * The version on the Web the matrix file BIOS Lenovo page, 7KET72WW (1.22 - 1, 06), seems wrong and outdated compared to this page:

    http://74.125.45.104/search?q=cache: jqsAECxdXDoJ:www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/MIGR-68183.html+7OET24WW&hl=en&ct=clnk&cd=5&gl=us

which indicates that it should be 7OETC1WW (2.21). **

    Background:

This Lenovo R61 laptop has always been slow and difficult, with performance much worse than my old XP system with worst record.  Originally, I tried to reinstall Vista to remove the useless factory software I thought may be responsible for slowing down the system.  This was the beginning of many problems.  I had added a stick of 1 GB 2 brand new RAM for the system, and I couldn't properly reinstall Vista with the ThinkVantage tools.  When I contacted the support, they told me it was due to the system are different from the original specifications (additional RAM).  It's ridiculous, but also to correct.  In addition, my Windows key at the bottom of the laptop sticker was scratched and unreadable, directly from the factory.  Support told me that the key is not useful or necessary because the only way to reinstall Vista is using the ThinkVantage tools.  Once again, ridiculous, but after removing my extra RAM, I was able to reinstall Vista.  This did not help the performance, even with the additional software deleted.

    On the current problem:

I have experience several daily BSOD. Analysis of accident of Vista generally points to the USB driver, sometimes the network adapter driver and often does not return anything.

I want to update my BIOS, but I don't know which version to use.  According to the information of the system, my system model is 8932CTO. The current system BIOS is the 7OET24WW version (1.03).  I did a search on Google for this BIOS and found the following cached page:

    [ http://74.125.45.104/search?q=cache: jqsAECxdXDoJ:www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/MIGR-68183.html+7OET24WW&hl=en&ct=clnk&cd=5&gl=us] It lists the following:

This version supports the following systems:
    -ThinkPad R61 - 15.4-inch wide screen models
    Machine types: 8930 8933, 8934, 8935, 8936, 8937
-ThinkPad R61i - model widescreen 15.4 inches with IEEE 1394
    Computer type: 8932

The first version of this list, 7OET24WW (1.03) matches the BIOS on my system, which indicates that I have to upgrade to the current version, 7OETC1WW (2.21).

This page shows that my system model supports IEEE 1394 (Firewire), and of course, the Device Manager shows a RICOH OHCI Compliant IEEE 1394 Host Controller, even if my laptop is not a firewire port!  Then...

QUESTION: why does my laptop have an IEEE 1394 controller, but no port?  It is used to something else? Safely disable the controller driver if it is pointless?

The same page also lists the history of BIOS for thise models, and the current BIOS version does not match the name on the matrix of the file BIOS Lenovo - ThinkPad page here: http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/document.do?lndocid=BMOE-3VAM8Y#r

My computer is a R61 widescreen 15.4 inches with IEEE 1394 (at least the controller).  NONE OF THESE VERSIONS OF BIOS MATCHES THE OTHER PAGE, I FOUND, WHICH SEEMS MORE ACCURATE!  Also, only one of the many, many BIOS versions presented on this page are from 2008.  So the page of the Lenovo BIOS file matrix totally out of date or what?

What version of BIOS should I use to upgrade my system, and what else can I diagnose these BSOD and performance problems?

Agotthelf is correct; 2.21 is the latest version of the BIOS, and to install it, you must burn it to a CD as an ISO file. I was too lazy to do.

My R61, too, is the 15.4-inch (1680 x 1050) model, but unlike you, I have XP Professional and a 1394 a miniport. The reason your system shows Firewire, it's Ricoh Board which controls the 4 - 1 or 5-in-1 memory card reader includes the R61 Firewire controller. I guess it's convenient is you decide, as I do, to add a CardBus (or, as the case may be, an ExpressCard) with full major ports 1394 a(1) FireWire, 1394b (FireWire 2), or both.

  • HPE-210y motherboard died

    Hello

My card mother HPE-210y died (according to a local technician) barely 2 months after the expiration of my 1 year warranty. * sigh *.

I plan to purchase a replacement motherboard and would like to ask for your comments and suggestions.  I'm going to do the replacement myself to save money.  I used to build my computer six years ago, so I'm a little rusty, but feels able to work.

I buy the ASUS M4A88TD-M USB3 AMD 880 G Motherboard as a replacement.  Don't you think it's a good, or even a better replacement than the original Foxconn Board?  I'll also plug the Radeon HD 5450 graphics card in the new motherboard which is Hybrid CrossfireX ready has a chipset Radeon HD 4250.  With this, I need to improve my diet?  A standard ATX PSU will fit in my case?

Thanks in advance for your answers.

    Hello

The motherboard you have chosen is decent.

    1. I don't see a 1394 firewire port header or a rear port 1394.  Do you need one?
    2. Your HP recovery disks will not work on a very "blessed" motherboard not HP.  You will need a copy of Windows.
    3. Modules of memory DIMM in your current PC might not make the list of suppliers qualified from ASUS (QVL). -unknown
    4. The current power should work.
    5. 5450 video card should work. However, ATI recommends 400 watts Power Board. Do not buy less than a 500 Watt power supply.
    6. No modem port. Do you need one?
    7. Is not taken UEFI bios supported.  This could be useful for hard drives of 3 to and changes in the normal bios.
    8. A standard ATX PSU will fit.  (5.5 in. 5.9 "by 3.4").  Block power SUPPLY Corsair CX 500 is good quality food.

Check with HP to ensure that your PC is not covered by warranty. Check your warranty here status.

If you bought your PC with a credit card, then check with your credit card company and see if your purchase is covered by extended warranty electronic equipment.

Since I do not use, is there a way I can disable?

    * Edited on behalf of the correct platform in the thread title

My memory fades a bit on this one, but I think we would normally install radiators memory on D20 whenever there is 4 GB or RDIMMs magnification in use.  Keep in mind at the time D20 launched, 4 GB RDIMMs are among the available DIMM big, and many had heatspreaders installed on them because of the power they use.  As technology DIMM moved forward, I think that the dissipated power is down.

That being said, it probably wouldn't hurt to have if you are concerned about the time of the memory.

  • Qosmio G30: Cam Sony MV does not work with port IEEE 1394

Qosmio G30-117 does not support my Sony DCR-IP5E (a micro video camera) port ieee 1394. I tried to use pinnaccle studio 9 and video ulead studio 10, but I could not see my cam because of these programs.

There is no problem if I install a new win xp media center edition (retail pack) and CDTOOLS drivers. But I want to use my setup of the Qosmio factory, I don't want to buy a new win xp media center edition.

How can I solve this problem?

    Thank you all.

    Hello Amon

I tested it with Qosmio G20 and my Sony camcorder using the same port.
I tested it with Windows movie maker, WinDVD Creator, Adobe Premiere and Ulead Media studio Pro 8.

You may believe, but each application was able to see my cam and I copied movies on the HARD drive, edited and created DVDs. I don't really know what is happening in your case, but when you connect your switch cam on game mode, and the cam must be recognized as new hardware and listed in Device Manager.

When it works well to start the applications and check again.

  • How to connect a camera Digital Video through IEEE 1394 on my A50 port?

    Hello
I tried to connect a video camera to my laptop SA50-109 through port IEEE 1394... but the laptop doesn't recognize any camera...
Although the shows 'DV-in' camera when I plug the cable witch is DV (4-pin to 4-pin) cable...
is there something I need to do before to make it work?
    any ideas... Please?

    Hi Isabelle,.

I think that the normal login procedure is: -.

    1. connect the firewire cable to the camcorder.

    2. connect the other end to the laptop.

    3. turn on the camcorder (in play rather than camera mode).

    4. Windows will detect the camcorder and will make available as input source for your capture software.

You want a Thunderbolt Apple FireWire adapter. Here is a link (to the US store):

  • Satellite A30 921: XP does not detect the Firewire IEEE 1394 port

    I have a satellite A30 921.
There I link port aswell. My problem is that im trying to connect my camcorder dv via I LINK and this is the first time since I bought this laptop. But XP won't dectecting it.

Can someone help me on this problem?

Hmm, it seems that the satellite A30 921 supports really 4pol IEEE1334 Firewire/iLink interface. Therefore, it should be possible to connect your external camcorder without big problems.

May I ask if you are using Win XP with SP2 preinstalled?
    You should do it.

AFAIK the SP2 contains a bug which has affected the firewire port.
But it has been resolved with the additional patch. Check this box:

+ * Performance of 1394 devices may decrease after you install Windows XP Service Pack 2 * +.

I also recommend to check the firewire port in Device Manager.
It would be desirable to remove it from the list of Device Manager, then restart the laptop for reinstalling the port once more.
