HPE-210y motherboard died

Hello

My card mother HPE-210y died (according to a local technician) barely 2 months after the expiration of my 1 year warranty. * sigh *.

I plan to purchase a replacement motherboard and would like to ask for your comments and suggestions.  I'm going to do the replacement myself to save money.  I used to build my computer six years ago, so I'm a little rusty, but feels able to work.

I buy the ASUS M4A88TD-M USB3 AMD 880 G Motherboard as a replacement.  Don't you think it's a good, or even a better replacement than the original Foxconn Board?  I'll also plug the Radeon HD 5450 graphics card in the new motherboard which is Hybrid CrossfireX ready has a chipset Radeon HD 4250.  With this, I need to improve my diet?  A standard ATX PSU will fit in my case?

Thanks in advance for your answers.

Hello

The motherboard you have chosen is decent.

  1. I don't see a 1394 firewire port header or a rear port 1394.  Do you need one?
  2. Your HP recovery disks will not work on a very "blessed" motherboard not HP.  You will need a copy of Windows.
  3. Modules of memory DIMM in your current PC might not make the list of suppliers qualified from ASUS (QVL). -unknown
  4. The current power should work.
  5. 5450 video card should work. However, ATI recommends 400 watts Power Board. Do not buy less than a 500 Watt power supply.
  6. No modem port. Do you need one?
  7. Is not taken UEFI bios supported.  This could be useful for hard drives of 3 to and changes in the normal bios.
  8. A standard ATX PSU will fit.  (5.5 in. 5.9 "by 3.4").  Block power SUPPLY Corsair CX 500 is good quality food.

Check with HP to ensure that your PC is not covered by warranty. Check your warranty here status.

If you bought your PC with a credit card, then check with your credit card company and see if your purchase is covered by extended warranty electronic equipment.

How to connect 2 monitors to a HPE-210y PC? I have 2 monitors HP2010i . Behind the PC, there is a VGA - DVI input and an HDMI input. I have connected a monitor to the PC with a VGA - DVI adapter. I saw a VGA input which was covered with a plastic plate "DO NOT REMOVE" black screwed attached. I removed the plate and the second monitor connected.

The second monitor keeps saying "No Signal" and goes to sleep. I tried the monitor plugs around switching, but I keep getting the same results. Only the monitor connected to the VGA - DVI input works.

How can I connect two monitors to this PC?

    Thank you

You must also use the HDMI port. To do this, you need an adapter DVI HDMI and a DVI cable.

The other VGA port has been covered for a reason, to keep you to try what you did. When a graphics card is used, the video port of the motherboard is disabled.

  • Pavilion Elite HPE (HPE-210y): Travel in RAID 0

    Hi all.

Recently, I upgraded my hard drive of 1 TB to 2 TB. I bought two hard drives of 2 TB because I planned to run RAID 1, but after that I cloned one of the 2 TB drives and removed the old 1 TB, I decided to save in a different way.   I have most of the things I wanted to back upward again on the old hard drive and another method seemed to be a better route. My uses of son for a little game and RAID 1 seemed to be struggling against productive and not as safe.

So, I'll be able to move my new drive 2 TB in RAID 0 with my other new 2 TB drive even if I use one right now?

    Else consider this computer Noob?

    Hello

HP's instructions for configuring RAID using the AMD RAIDXpert. Read at least twice.

Check your BIOS settings and make sure that the SATA is set to RAID.

I suggest you connect hard drives to ports SATA 1 and 2 (blue and white). Among the old HP AMD motherboards we're picky about which ports SATA would be supported RAID.

BTW - RAID 1 is much more secure that it will provide redundancy in the event of a hard drive failure and RAID 0 won't.

  • The upgrade of the video for my desktop HP Pavilion Elite HPE-210y PC

Yes, I have two questions about my PC.

First, on the technical card for desktop HP Pavilion Elite HPE-210y PC, it shows a power 300 watt yet looking at the minimum requirments for the video card from the factory it require a 400 Watt power supply and the fact of the data sheet does not show the power suppy manufacturer he was wondering has.

Second, I'm looking to upgrade the video card and I was wondering what the card would be a good replacement for a game without having to replace the power supply but if I have to adapt what power? (With a ceiling of $ 200 - $350 on power supply)

Yes, the power is 300 watts. Minimum 400 watts are for full power to retail graphics cards. The map provided by HP was custom designed to meet the requirements of power weaker and is is not the same as a retail card. HP has traditionally used Bestec and Lite-on original UPE.

To install a gaming grade graphics card, you will need to replace your power supply. The Corsair CX500 and CX600 are highly recommend and forum favorite. Further, these power supplies are only slightly larger than a block of power SUPPLY HP stock and are known to adapt. Power supply Idleness will put you back on the $50 - $75. • Desktop HPE-210y noisy CPU fan

I bought my house in 2009.  In recent months, there was a buzz in the chassis.  I thought it was a hard drive failed, so I replaced it, but the noise continued.  In fact, it's the CPU fan.  I cleaned the dust off everything inside, including under the fan heatsink.  The noise continues.  Should I replace it?  It seems to be fixed on the heat underneath sink.  If I do not need to replace it, how to find the right part? When I enter my serial number in the search of part of HP, it lists 30 components. It is said the cooling fan system is 5188-3722 and says that it can be ordered from HP.  It also lists the "heatsink for AMD", 575691-001. It then lists on the fan itself, the STROKE part number.  In another search using a BOM component, I see "Cooler STROKE AMD 125W PCB AVCFAN", Assembly p/n 466715-001.  What exactly should I order? Once I find, I can replace it myself or I have to find someone to do it?  (I replaced the memory and hard drives). Thank you.

    Hello @kjd_1,

Welcome to the HP Forums, I hope you enjoy your experience! To help you get the most out of the Forums of HP, I would like to draw your attention to the Guide of the Forums HP first time here? Learn how to publish and more.

I understand that you are looking to replace your radiator and fan system on your desktop HP Pavilion Elite HPE-210y PC. The heat sink is the heatsink and fan assembled between them then (5188-3722) system fan is the fan on the rear part of the housing. According to the noise is coming from will depend on who you are replacing. The system fan is NOT the fan on the heatsink.

I do not think that you should really have a problem replacing the heat sink, just make sure you clean and replace the thermal grease while you're there.

I hope that I have answered your question to your satisfaction. Thanks for posting on the HP Forums. Have a great day!

Thaose temperatures very well. Does not even begin to worry until you start to see time @140 degrees F.

    That's well below Tj Max.

I used to use centigrade. If the temperature is close to that you certainly can't expect much better than this.

  • 500-081ea Pavillion: motherboard died the Pavilion-scandalous 18 months!

My PC died on me seven days ago & after the visit of PC World & two other reputable computer local independent stores, I was informed by all three of my PC motherboard must be replaced.

Even if my PC had only 12 months warranty & did not extend its warranty I think seriously cheated by HP to not replace the motherboard for free as a gesture of goodwill, given my PC was greater than £600.

Ironically, after my experience with Packard Bell several years ago, I promised to never buy another PC of big brand company once again, precisely because of this dilemma & knowing it would cost me dearly to have my motherboard replaced by HP or any of their stores under license / recommended or repairers; but're back us!

  • Replacement for HPE-210y graphics card

    Hello

I posted a question earlier about a possible replacement for a card mother 'death', but it turns out that the motherboard works fine.  Good thing I had checked it by another technician, and it turns out that the problem is the dedicated Radeon HD5450 card.  Now I use my computer via the integrated graphics card.

I searched the Forum but can't find anything specific on the model of my computer.  I don't plan to upgrade the power supply at the present time (300w).  My question is, what is a better alternative for the Radeon HD5450 without upgrading PSU?  In addition, the included graphics card is 512 MB.  Can I use the HD5450 1 GB?  Any brand will be allowed until the GPU is the HD5450?

Sorry, I'm a little rusty on this thing so I ask your indulgence.

    Thanks in advance.

I want to just update just in case anyone else needs help.

Went to BestBuy and scout autour for graphics card.  I saw a VisionTek Radeon HD 5670 with 2 GB of DDR3 memory and check his power.  He said the area "300 Watt or higher recommended power" so I picked up and tried to install it on my machine.  Now my PC runs great!  My performance index Windows have increased from 5.0 to 5.9.  My old WEI is based on the rating that was the lowest graphics.  Now, it is based on the main hard drive. The rated current graphics and graphical games of my system is two 6,7.  So, I guess they will do for most games.

Hope this helps others who face the same problem I did.  I just hope that the power supply is really enough.

Hello doug25427, the first link is a dead link when I checked it after that I posted it so I had to find another link.

You can locate the link that I used initially by a Google search for how to create an array of Raid AMD.

You should see a search with a link result to AsRock. Click on this Google link, and it should show how to set up an array of Raid AMD. It is an Adobe PDF file so you will need Adobe Reader or a way to view a PDF file. The PDF file has 17 pages.

Although it is an AsRock system, AMD Raid configuration should be the same for any system that uses Raid AMD.

The current link may also have useful information.

  • HP Pavilion Elite HPE-210y - upgrade power supply and graphics card?

You just bought a new computer that I am generally satisfied, but it is not fit to play top games I like (for example Metro 2033).  I was looking into upgrading my graphics card and discovered that I have a 300W power supply.

I heard that HP computers are notorious for difficulties in upgrading equipment thanks to the compact design the area.  What power supply and graphics card I should be able to use?  Information links and price would be very appreciated.

I use my LG HDTV 32 "as a monitor and my current graphics card allows me to connect using an HDMI cable and play movies blu - ray via my PC.  I want to keep this feature.

    Thanks for any help!

You need to open your PC and measure the physical dimensions of your diet.  Here is a list of the things to consider:

    1. Specifications
    2. Total power - important
    3. amperage 12 + v - important
    4. Modular - is not required, but I like the flexibility
    5. Warranty
    6. I7 and SLI ready
    7. Efficiency rating
    8. Cost
    9. The physical size - standard ATX PSU is 5.5 "by 5.9" by 3.4 "give or take a few tenths

www.Newegg.com has many choices of power supplies.  Corsair, OCZ, Rosewill, Thermaltake...

The amount of amperage + 12 volts is important when choosing a video card.  Depending on the size of the Cabinet from HP a 550-600 watt PSU should be plenty.  The NVIDIA GT 460 should be a good choice.

  • PC HP Pavilion HPE-210y "mystery card".

I have 3 PCI slots on my MB, with one holding a sound card, a clogged by the video card fan shroud and one who holds a small card that I have no idea what its purpose. There are 3 black wires and a blue wire coming out, somewhere up towards the top of the front of the case. Nothing branch anywhere where I can see. Just had this thing in August and really not a not probe the guts too - worked fine right out of the box. Except now, I need to install an IEEE 1394 card for audio application. Does anyone have an idea what is this little extra card? Insofar as I can find no record of HP.

It's him! will tear this sucka outta there and stick to an IEEE 1394 card - integrated firewire chipset is not like me. Thank you, guys.

What's weird, is that I shot to the top of the page even Mumbodog gave out in a hyperlink. It is not the same layout and doesn't mention the network card. But it's the HP product support page, and the model number is the same. Strange.

  • Upgading A Pavilion Elite HPE hard drive

First off let me thank the guy who responds to this advance. It may be a few days before I have the chance again. Sometimes the unknown Warrior keyboard deserves a bit more then they get lol. So, thank you.

I have a HP Pavilion Elite HPE. I just took my first slap to upgrade certain hardware and now I have a FEVER. I should have noted some things while I was there, but I was a little excited to get it working again. I noticed a few differences in my template to the list for the Pavilion Elite HPE, I found this site, but I should be able to answer your questions with a quick glance to see if it's right. HP presents my motherboard as "MS-7613 (lona-GL8E)" but I'm sure that my Board is a Foxconn version 1.01 Aloe with a 3.0 GHz AMD Phenom II x 4 processor.

Then. Here's my question, can I put my 1 TB harddrive to two 2 TB drives? And you have any recommendations on which hard drive I use? I'm new at this and so I don't know I might miss information on this for you, but I think I can answer your questions on hard/software that I use.
