  You replaced the HARD drive by a new one or the BIOS don't recognize the old HDD?

  Usually if the laptop is not able to start and that the BIOS does not see the old HDD then I guess that the HARD drive is faulty.
  If the BIOS doesn't recognize the inserted new HARD drive and then either you ve bought is not compatible, or the size of the HARD drive is just too big.

  It seems that the laptop would support the Wlan Atheros 802.11agn card.
  Usually the Atheros Wlan card must appear in Device Manager as on the menu network cards.
  If it s not appear do not then I recommend that you install the WLAN driver which can be downloaded here:

  Choose the Atheros Wireless LAN Adapter Windows 7 (32/64) 9.2.0.419.0 or newer

  What do you mean with not recognized? Have you checked the Device Manager and there is a yellow exclamation point or what?

  To my knowledge the Windows XP uses own firewire drivers and you need t use the advantage drivers 3rd for activate the IEEE1394 port.

  As I said above, please check device manager if the port is listed correctly. If there is no yellow exclamation that everything has been installed correctly.

  By the way: you reinstall the OS?
  If yes how did you install it? Have you installed the chipset utility.

  This looks like your HARD disk on the motherboard controller is faulty
  But before that you exchange the motherboard but I would test another HARD drive maybe the HARD drive is faulty and will recognize only on certain computers or mothers.

  If a new drive HARD doesn t work too, your motherboard needs to be replaced.
