Port in WLC2112 channel

Hello

Can someone up me please if its possible to create portchannel in a WLC2112 or a higher controller?

Best regards

Hello

    Hello

    I have a pair of 6500's Setup with VSS and there is currently only one link between then. However, one end of the link is Po10 and the other end is on Po25.  If I move the Po10 Po25, things will break? It seems to work fine now. I am about to add a second link and I am concerned about the current configuration.  It makes more sense for me to have the two ends of the same binding on the same port channel ID.  I have seen documentation that States otherwise however.

    Hello

    It doesn't make a difference if you do both sides with the same channel id or not. The ID of the port channel is a logical interface that does not impact on the etherchannel between them at all. So, you can leave one side Po10 and other like Po25 without problem. Just make sure you have at least one member of the Portchannel Active physical interfaces for not losing your connection to VSS.

  • Remove the port from the channel-group

    I met a strange problem with port aggregation, where I decided to remove a port of a port channel and put it in another, but in my SNMP tool, it still belongs to the old channel of port and the new at the same time.

    Port channel was created using:

    (config) #interface gigabitEthernet 0/1/22

    (config-if) trunk mode #switchport

    (config-if) active in mode #channel-group 1

    Then passes through

    (config) #interface gigabitEthernet 0/1/22

    (config-if) #no active mode channel-group 1
    (config-if) active in mode #channel-group 2

    I have also that when I pull up some information on configuring etherchannel.

    #show interfaces gigabitEthernet 0/1/22 etherchannel

    This could be a problem with my (observium) snmp tool or are there additional measures to eliminate a port of a group of channels? Reboot of the switch?

    Hello

    I would say that it is related to the snmp tool, once you remove the port of the chain earlier and added to the new, which will be to the one, it is impossible that an interface will be less than 2 different port channels.

    Also there is no need to restart the switch or something like that, you can use the following commands to verify that the interface is now part of the new channel group:

    Show etherchannel summary

    Show interface execution item in gi1/0/22

    With these commands, you will see that the interface belongs to the Group channel 2, and the order that you set above shows that the interface belongs to po2.

    Hope this helps

  • How better to configure ports of ether-channel for use with iSCSI?

    I had a quick glance and find a number of different discussions about the best solution for simlar scenarios but nothing quite close enough to convince me to implement the proposed solution.

    The configuration that I was left with is not ideal, because it is not redundent. So I need to find a quick solution pritty.

    Two cards (each NIC goes to different switch) - Console of Service

    Two network cards (both in the same key) - vMotion

    Two network cards (they both go to the same switch) - Prod (10 discussions)

    Two network cards (they both go to the same switch in an ether channel) - storage (iSCSI)

    The environment is a cluster of three ESXi 4.1 ENT U1 + environment, connected to a vCenter STD.

    Here's what I intend to allocate, but hoped a nice person enough to suggest the best configuration. I realize the number of connections to Prod is excessive and we will reach neaver as bandwidth, but I have free network cards.

    Two cards (each NIC goes to different switch) - Console of Service

    Two cards (each NIC goes to different switch) - vMotion

    Four NICs (two pairs in different switches) - Prod (10 discussions)

    Four (#) - storage (iSCSI) network interface cards

    The part that concerns me is get the configuration for storage network cards just like we use the ether-channel, which seems to complicate things from what I've read.

    So in summary I want to use four NICs for storage and bandwidth is not wasted I currenlty have using the channel of the ether. If I can work it another way without the use of ether-channel I am pleased to see again.

    If I have not provided enough information to evaluate, please let me know and I'll give you more.

    Thanks in advance for any helpful information.

    First of all, let me squash the myth an EtherChannel gives you additional bandwidth for iSCSI. Each iSCSI initiator can use an uplink to an iSCSI target vSphere being limited to a hash value "IP". Given that the source and destination IPs are always the same, the hash is always the same.

    I wrote about it here in my post seriously, Stop "Using Port channels for vSphere storage traffic":

    Uplink Ports Fibre Channel

    Manage ports Uplink Fiber Channel FCoE traffic between the interconnection of fabric and the next layer of the

    SAN storage network. All FCoE network-related traffic is pinned to one of these ports.

    By default, the Fibre Channel ports are uplink. However, you can configure them to work as Fibre Channel

    storage ports. This is useful in cases where a Cisco UCS requires a connection to a DAS storage

    Device (DAS).

    My question is, how the FC Port could handle FCoE traffic? My understanding was that FCoE will be lifted and Enthernet connection only.

    Yes, even if these links were green in your portchannel LACP always would play you a loop, for this purpose, he blocked because of the fact that you have more links (aggregate bandwidth) between other switches so it is allowing more transmission between.

  • loop and multi com ports

    Hello world

    Store device data in Server series of STS (which has 16 com ports).

    But I need to use 7 series STS server com ports. I need to read that data 7 com ports and save in a file.

    Each com port has a different function (for example the reading of data or display).

    My question is,

    (1) can I use different while loop for each com ports (if each com port have various channels)?

    (2) if I use different while loops for each com ports, will there be problems (like data layering or stacking)?

    (3) using different loops can be considered as parallel processing? (if not, explain pls)

    the most important is

    (4) should I use a main while loop for all com ports 7?

    Kind regards

    You can run all ports in parallel, and as long as you don't create other dependencies between the loops, interference will not normally a problem. We do this all the time (32 ports ++), there could be a lot of incoming data on a port, or a slow response from a slave on another port... and you do not want other ports to get affected by it.

    With the help of several ports with multiple loops is very rigid though (you will need to re-encode if the number of ports changes). It is best to dynamically create a VI 'port manager' for each port (open a reference to a reentrant VI, one LIVES, or create a copy of a VI on request at the opening, a reference to that - and then run with the run method with the input set to false, queue...) and use queues to get data in and out of each port/port manager.

    Hello Sabine,.

    You can't do the port connected to the normal PC user as the ether (of media storage/server) channel and in your scenario, you can only do etherchannel between your switches.

    Once the channel of the ether is done, there will be another created interface called port-channel, which will undergo the same properties as access/trunk depending on your configuration

    As you create the channel on both switches, they can identify the etherchannel and communicate each oher

  • UCS Manager of port feeder error

    Hey members,.

    I use in this critical error on my UCS Manager. Member of San 1/12 of the Port - Channel on interconnect fabric A is down, subscription to the bottom.

    It worked before. After an upgrade if this message began to appear. Someone has an idea?

    Hi Mark,

    Is your switch upstream a SDM or N5K? (Fabric interconnects UCS--> MDS / N5K?).

    If so you are more likely to fall on a known bug that I've linked below;

    https://Tools.Cisco.com/bugsearch/bug/CSCty04686/?reffering_site=dumpcr

    To help me to check if it is the bug on your fabric to interconnect and switch upstream could you run the following command;

    Setting wwn Show

    If your output is then as says the bug you will be running in it;

    XX:xx:00:2 has: 6a: XX:XX:XX

    OR

    XX:xx:8 c: 60:4f:xx:xx:xx

    Work around this is to update your MDS or N5K switch. This bug is due to the fact that upstream switch does not recognize codes MAC YES fabric interconnects. Since the Port of SAN-channels is a Cisco proprietary technology must be able to recognize it so that it works correctly. Once that you upgrade your switch upstream port-channel should continue to function normally.

  • Port Trunk on Vmware EXSi 5?

    Hello

    We have vShpere Essentials more here with EXSi 5. I want to trunk 4 times of the network ports for each host. Then on Vmware, we can choose what VLAN belongs to the Virtual Machine.

    I think I know how to configure the Cisco switch. Series 4 ports in a trunk and puts all 4 ports in a channel group. I don't know how to configure Vmware. Someone has links to blogs with guides step by step please?

  • Option named pipe to add the missing Serial Port to Linux host

    Hi all

    I try to add a serial port as a channel named for a kernel debugging

    the installer, but this option is missing (see screenshot1). There are

    However the options to add the serial port in the file/socket.

    The host is 64-bit Fedora 10 2.6.27.24 - 170.2.68.fc10.x86_64 running.

    Workstation is 6.5.2 build-156735. I found that the named pipe option is missing, regardless of the type of the guest OS.

    I had posted this last week.

    http://communities.VMware.com/message/1267552

    and he said since as soon as I put in the following options in the marked .vmx file, a serial port option came (see screenshot2).

    Serial0.present = 'TRUE '.

    Serial0.filetype = 'pipe '.

    Serial0.filename = "/ tmp/com_1".

    I realized that I have a VM as the serial port server and others as a customer. So adding the option-

    Serial0.pipe.endpoint = 'server '.

    However, this option is breaking the vm configs (cannot start VM until I have delete this line).

    Please see the attached screenshot3 6.5.2 on Windows and you will see that there is a different and complete serial port setting to the research. You can easily set a virtual machine as a client/server side of the connection series on Windows.

    I would really appreciate if someone could give me some pointers as to why this difference between Linux and Windows, and how to get the type parameters for the serial ports under Linux Windows?

    My main goal for the purchase of workstation was to do kernel debugging using the serial ports, and now I'm totally paralyzed because of this. Pointers and suggestions are greatly welcome.

    Thank you very much
