portable pravillion: symbols on updates

What are the symbols next to my installed... updates!

Thanks for the information...

Personally, I found HP Support Assistant (HPSA) to be more trouble that it's worth.

On a PC is brand new, it is probably more useful that HP constantly puts the driver and updates of BIOS for the new machines, but on an old PC, especially one that has been upgraded to Win10, it's all but useless - as HP is not turn off updates for older PCs.

If you want to troubleshoot HPSA, here is some information: HP - HP Support Assistant (Windows, 10, 8) troubleshooting computers. HP® customer support

Good luck

  • Windows 7 fonts changed to windings symbols after update - USEFUL SOLUTION

    Hi guys,.

This just happened to me, after an update to windows 7 Home premium.
what you can do, is Windows Explorer actually type the location of your fonts directory: C:\WINDOWS\FONTS or ANY directory to browse your system
The system really knows what you type and will take you to any directory that you type in the Search Explorer bar. So just type as usual.
I had already tried recovery mode (F8) and which dates back to 2 former States which have been listed, but that did not help me. Yet the symbols.
After I rebooted in MODE without FAILURE (F8) and looked in my repertoire of FONTS, I discovered that I had only 3 fonts left on my system as a result of a kind of software change, update windows etc. Luckily, I backed up all my fonts in one archive .rar months earlier and downloaded archive .rar on Google Drive.
I am now connected to my server dedicated via desktop remotely, download the fonts I have downloaded Google.Drive to the dedicated server.
You just know the image to some system files and the locations of the system to navigate your system with symbols. Just click on the Start button and look for the picture of the BLUE SCREEN (computer & Windows Explorer)... I hope that it works and is useful for a person, including me!
Then what I did use remote desktop and a FTP client that I already had on my FTP in my dedicated server system and the directory name of the fonts downloaded into a long name conscientious, so that I would be able to tell what it was by the symbols. I added a bunch of capital L to the name of the directory, which in turn, makes the symbols appear as a square. So ALEX is converted into a bunch of squares.
Now, once the transfer FTP (download) has done to my system symboled, I intend to select ALL (CTRL + A) fonts in the directory downloaded, copy (CTRL + C) and PASTE (CTRL + V) into my Windows fonts directory.  Wish me good luck.

I have a backup of 3 124 fonts. If anyone would like a copy of the policies for their care, I downloaded archive .rar for you. In case you don't have any backups or fonts on the left, they will be here:
WOOOHOOO! Update! I just FTP'ing and re - install my fonts. I'M BACK TO NORMAL. Once windows installed the fonts, the system changed immediately to the appropriate police and symbols have disappeared! LONG LIVE GOOGLE!

    Good luck

  • Lost password 'setup' portable ARMARDA E500 BIOS update.

I have an old E500 ARMARDA which works very well and don't want to lose him.  How can I get around the demand for 'PASSWORD' during the upgrade of its file of bios with the 'SP20947 '. File "EXE" downloaded hepl HPCOMPAQ page I can't find my password?  This password is requested in the dialoge BACK box when I try to run the downloaded file. Any ideas anyone? Thank you. Chris has shone.

Did what you said. When the computer reboots, it wouldn't start so I put the disk in drive A that I did with the sp20947.exe on her file and Bingo! I was overall upward with the old password passed.  Made my own p/w, etc. and filled the various bits and pieces in the installation program and so I'm now much further. This old machine has now turned into a battle of wills between me and her.  Still hard to start, but I changed the boot order, so I can get BACK with a boot disc and I activated "Multiboot" in the installer.  This thing is 15 years old is small battery RTC may need renewal? It does not seem to keep a track of date and time.  Also, do you know that if I could get a download of the manual you referred me to.  This is nothing like the manual supplied with the machine.  Finally, thank you very much.  There was no chance that I have that would have solved mine.  Thank you very much, Chris Shone, (even more of the machine!)

  • All my tabs and history are missing after my computer updated and rebooted. I had more than 140 tabs open! Help!

Last night, my computer (Win 7 Dell Portable - Firefox) made an update. It restarted and when I turned it back on, the computer gave me a message that your office told 'prepare' before I could connect. When I logged in, it was almost as if the computer was brand new - the desktop theme was new, he said my mouse was ready for use, and he said that internet Explorer 10 has been updated. I clicked on Firefox as usual, expect that he gives me the screen where it asks me if I want that it restore all my tabs and it was the home page of Mozilla firefox was barebones in the sense that she was not one of my modules, or even the basic, file, edit, view, history, Favorites, tools, help buttons on the screen. When I walked into the story, it was only today listed and no site! I'm panicking and I really need to know how to get everything back to the way it was. I got an add-on of Personas with 36 backgrounds that I loved, and I don't want to have to go back and re-download all my modules, not to mention, there is no way, I would be able to store or to pick up where I left off with all of these tabs, that I need for work. Please help me!

It's a temporary profile Windows, not Firefox's fault, but something (perhaps a windows update, they unrolled a bunch today) corrupted your Windows profile. http://www.sysprobs.com/fix-temporary-profile-Windows-7 can help you, it will also bring back your Firefox data.

    Hello

I guess that part of the question could be a driver which is really old or similar should not be loaded.

This exit Windows updates on (after you have access) and stop the updates of the driver to load.

  • Whenever I go out my computer there are updates to install

When I shut down the computer, it is a symbol of update on the sleep button.  I would be careful, there are so many updates every day, or should I just let it update?

If this symbol is there every day, check your update on Windows Update history. An update may fail to install and be retried repeatedly.

Updates Microsoft security release the second Tuesday of each month at 10:00 am Pacific time. Non-security updates are published on the fourth Tuesday of each month. Update definitions for Windows Defender and Microsoft Security Essentials also appears in the history of the update. There are no updates normally more than one or two a month out of this cycle.

  • Is it possible to update all instances of a library item in a document?

I use a library item in my doc, but now I want to change how it looks all that can be found in my doc.  In Fireworks, we could update a symbol & apply updates to each instance in a doc.  Is there anyway to do this with InDesign CS 5.5?

The Library objects do not work as 'symbols' who inherited Adobe Flash and Fireworks from Macromedia.

I don't know how, (properties), you want to change all instances of the object, but since this is a stretched to native InDesign object, there is a good chance that you can use the find/replace function object tab to change his appearance throughout the document.

  • Disorders of shadow symbol

I met a very special difficulty, spent the last hour trying to nail repeatable. The problem is this: I have a jpg image that I use repeatedly in an illustrator file, and I wanted to be more effective by making a symbol. So I incorporated the image, it is a symbol, then updated my Illustrator file, replace instances of this image with the symbol-version of the image. I then tried to add a shadow effect to one of these symbols. Although the effect has been listed in the menu appearance, he didn't really appear visibly on the screen. However, if I only added a shadow-no effect to the symbol (e.g. flou.1 pixel) then added a shadow, the shadow would appear. Curiously, I have other images I've done in symbols where this problem does not occur. Maybe, that's a weird image format problem?

I've included an export jpg below, showing the problem. I also put the original .ai file on my file docs Google here:

    https://docs.Google.com/file/d/0B0Hoxcl5zTEtNmZnYW9qaWpkVVU/edit?USP=sharing

    I use the free trial Illustrator CS6 (16.0.3 64bits). on a laptop Win 8-64.

All the comments/help would be greatly appreciated.

Yes, I'll probably buy the real version of Illustrator very soon. I need something better than Inkscape, but I'm a little hesitant, put off by all the oddities that I discovered in the past two weeks. I had hoped that a package for profit would be more reliable than this.

You need not use "blur." Try rather effect "path offset." Sounds weird, but works. Set it to 0 offset.

    This is the reason.

  • Problem of macOS / external hard drive

My external hard drive (Seagate Portable) went wonky after update of my MacBook Pro for macOS Sierra.

I did some research and I've followed all the advice - nothing helped.

・It is not in the Finder.

・It is listed in "Disk utility", but I can't do anything with him - like mounting the drive.

・ "Disk utility", says that the Seagate drive is completely full - but I know for sure that's not true - it was about a quarter full and has only a few months.

・i reset the PRAM & SMC on Mac

Try to update the Paragon NTFS driver. You can find the updated version on the Seagate support site at:

  • Titles tab favicons are confused and do not stick to accurate data - how to solve?

Since a few days now FF does not display the favicon and the titles of the tabs properly more. (see below for screencast)

    • Instead, a few 'standard' - sites appear in the tab titles and favicons:
     - google
     - wikipedia
     - get involved (firefox)
      - Firefox central

    • as soon as I activate a tab, it's favicon and symbol is updated immediately.
    • most favicons updateto their correct data, as soon as he gets in the background, it is erroneous data.
    • all titles to date for its correct title once activated. But againfalls at the time where to start at bottom.
    • in some tabs the favicon disappears completely during activation (including the placeholder for the icon)
    • also in mode 'tabs to group' securities favicons are not valid. Ironically, just most of them (some favicons are correct) - which makes it more difficult for me to understand.
    • in the group-tabs-view some of the tabs pins/apps favicons simply lack.

empty the cache, cookies, offline, restart FF data, restart the machine did not help so far.

As much as I love my history and profile of the data, I don't want to do new FF-profiles.

  • Satellite U300-140 - SSD could be compatible

    Hello world

I want to completely upgrade my toshiba satellite U300-140, mount VISTA and default the technical features, shown below.

And... an SSD is worthy, at the speed of my laptop? I was thinking about kingston 120 Gb or 240 GB V300

I need your help to choose the best (and economic) device SSD and RAM slot. It is very important for me to know what is probably compatible with my device. Please, could you help me in your experience?

    http://www.Toshiba.it/discontinued-p...Lite-U300-14O

The laptop supports the SATA controller and there is therefore no limitations in size.

I guess that mentioned SSD readers must be compatible...

I had a portable Satellite U400 and updated this device with an EVO 250 GB SSD successfully.

  • Satellite M30-113 does not work well when I use FreeBSD 6.2

    Hello

My M30-113 does not work well when I use FreeBSD 6, 2-RELEASE http://www.FreeBSD.Org/

I was told that Toshiba has release a new bios to correct the problem of cooling, because it does not allow me to fan passive cooling in FreeBSD.

So could we have a new bios to solve this issue?

    Arabian salvation

I am sure that mobile industry is focused on Windows operating system and hardware architecture together and preinstalled software are adapted and also configured to run well and stable.

This operating system is supported and if something should be better portable manufacturers offer different updates to the BIOS. Of course, you can preinstall what you want but you can not expect support for everything you can find on the market and because of this I n t believe that you won't find any update especially for FreeBSD 6.2 - RELEASE BIOS.

  • Satellite Pro A200 freeze, including the power button

Had a complete system freeze last night - first tabs of Firefox, then, when I tried to call the Manager of tasks, CTRL + ALT + DELETE does not either. I pressed the off button several times, but couldn't turn off the laptop.

After disconnecting the power cable, the power led is stayed blue and he was always running on battery, even if the battery led was off. I left the laptop (what can I do) until the battery has been emptied and it closes.

This morning, it came normally, followed by this error message:

"the exception unknown software exception (0x0eedfade) occurred at the location 0x7c812a5b.

Followed by a screen of windows update updates have been made and the computer will restart soon (just in case where which can be connected - the night before, the symbol of "updates available" was in the shortcut bar too, and when it froze, I ran my virus check Spyware Doctor daily in the background).

I rebooted the computer without other error messages and it has been fine until now, but I have no idea what caused it, and if it happens again. Any advice?

    > I left the laptop (what can I do) until the battery has been emptied and it closes.
    What else could do you?
First of all, you could hold the power button for about 4 seconds and it would help tp close Notepad. Then you could reboot the laptop to check if the system is running correctly. However, it seems that it s running again.

    > I rebooted the computer without other error messages and it has been fine until now, but I have no idea what caused it, and if it happens again. Any advice?
Believe me, it's really not easy to say what caused this problem system and I guess nobody here will be able to answer EXCATLY.
In my view, there was a software problem that was solved by new reboot and a new update to Vista
Strange things still occur and are not rare for me.

    Welcome them

Try to disconnect all the external devices and then try to reinstall Vista from disk.

Provide the Blue error screen you get.
