• Need to boot from USB device with my Portege 7020ct

  I need help!

  situation: me and my girlfriend go on a long trip on Tuesday. We have to work, so we bought a second hand portege 7020ct.
  However, there is no CD or diskette drive. Win98 is installed but no drivers for the modem. infrared can locate other computers, but is not able to connect.
  so the rare thing I have is a usb connector.

  I want to install win2000 or at least put some data on the hard drive.

  So I need to use my external cd drive or usb key. the problem is, the system (usb port) find the external hard drive and the USB, but I need to install drivers to prepare! But how? --> no internet, no floppy drive, no internal cd, without infra-red...

  What can I do?

  I tried to get into the bios to see if it is possible to boot from the usb slot, maybe get the external drive runnin and then install win2000.
  but I can´t know how to get into the bios! .. .but I m don't know if it will work.

  How do I enter the bios?
  Anyone have any idea what I can do? How can I get drivers in the system?
  How can I get the disc runnin external or USB?

  Please, I beg you! I need help very quick, cause tomorrow is my last day...

  Hi Deko,

  The key in the power up takes you to the BIOS settings.

  Installing the drivers could be difficult. I have a 7010CT and there is no option to boot from USB (only floppy - HDD - CD - lan). I don't think that Windows 98 supports USB sticks without additional drivers. I upgraded from Windows 98 to Windows 2000 by using a PCMCIA cdrom external and from the installer of Windows 98. Maybe you could try to use a network card PCMCIA to try to find a disk for the Portege.

  Eh, it's really amazing that someone still use this old machine Portege. I hope it works perfectly.
  If I m remembering well at the back of this port replicator is the DC power connector, so you should be able to use the AC for your Portege power cable and connect it to the port replicator.

  The connector must be the same.

• Screen touch Portege 7020ct not workin with XP

  Hey I got a computer laptop touch motion of 7020ct of a companion and it had windows 98 on it and the touch sreen worked well, but he had a load of stuff away I wanted not so I installed a new copy of windows xp pro top, but now the touchscreen does not work.

  I searched for hours on the internet for drivers etc, but I can't find can someone help me please.

  Portege 7020CT is known to me, but I've never heard version of touch 7020 ct motion. Is it perhaps sold to the United States only?

  Anyway, as much as I know this unit is not designed and supported for the Windows XP Home edition operating system and cause that you don't find driver Windows XP Home edition. If you want to try to check Portege 7020CT model home page we supports page. It is reported many drivers and also support bulletins. Maybe you will find something interesting.

  Unfortunately, the Portege 7020 has no TV out port. As nicky has already written, you should use RGB port in combination with the proper adapter.

• DVD Portege 7020CT problem

  I have a Portege 7020CT with a docking station. The docking station contains a floppy drive, CD-ROM/DVD-ROM and ethernet connection. I have no CD recovery for this machine. Recently I had to reinstall Windows 98 Second edition using a standard CD of Microsoft, but since then I can't play DVDs on it more. I can play CDs without any problem. I think I may need a driver for DVD decoder, but it is not available for download from Toshiba. Someone at - it ideas?

  the drive in the docking station is a Type CD TEAC 224 and no dvd rom, I have the same problem and I changed to a DVD Rom USB

  Put a SIM card in the slot, but I get the error above: Wireless Manager Toshiba "device not found".

  Cannot find the configuration options or anything like that in the manual.

  Well, to my knowledge the PXE error because the device is not able to boot from the local network.
  Have you tried to boot from LAN or something like that?

  Enter the BIOS and change the boot order. Perhaps you set the LAN at the first stage in the boot order, and therefore the unit will try to boot from LAN.

  You find a message that an external USB was plugged?
  If this isn't the case, so I guess the external HARD disc device needs more power than the USB port provides.
  In this case the external power supply to the HARD drive should solve this problem.
  Also please go to the USB hub properties root and uncheck allow the computer to turn off this device to save power

• Tecra M7: Vista 'Open file security warning' for Alptec pointing device .exe files

  I gritted my teeth and updated my M7 for Vista Ultimate Friday. Overall I am very happy with the results. I have stripped the machine of all Toshiba drivers before installation and then re-installed all Vista drivers afterwards.

  Everything seems to be OK aside, whenever I boot, I get the following errors when the device pointing Alptec drivers load: open file security warning - the Publisher could not be verified.
  Are you sure you want to run this program? The file is: C:\Porgram Files\Apoint2k\appoint.exe, then the same thing for: c:\Popram Files\Apoint2K\ApmsgFWD.exe and C:\Program Files\Apntex.exe. I click "Run" on each of the applications and uncheck the button "always Me ask."

  It makes no difference and every time that I reboot, I get the same error. If anyone has had this problem, and if so, do you know how to fix it?

  I suspect it is a problem of certificate with Alps Electric Co Ltd and have checked their website and found nothing.

  We have several very large PDFs on our web site that some want to have access to print. We don't mind them print the PDF files, but want to warn with a dialog box pop up that PDF files are hundreds of pages.  Is this possible with Acrobat Pro DC?

  I currently have a form created to use a checklist and want boxes important to enable playback if clicked. I currently have a mouse trigger upward selected to execute a JavaScript script for the following code:

  It works but when I click anywhere else on the pdf red disappears and goes back to white.

  Most likely, the field highlight color changes the color of your field when you exit it. You must disable it (Edit - Preferences - Forms) or change something, like the color of the border.

  This kind of issue belonged more in the Acrobat or Acrobat Javascript forums, forms however. This forum is on the Acrobat SDK kit.

  MacBook Pro (June 2012)

  InDesign crashes in these two cases:

  1 try to remove a page whose content is. Just as the warning box appears, it is without content (just the title of 'Warning') and accidents.

  2. what package a file, as it is to warn you about the dangers of archiving policies, it does the same thing as above and crashes.

  Tried alt-opt-cmd-shift thing to restart preferences and nothing.

  I tried deleting the files of two preference directly so that they would rebuild and nothing.

  Interestingly, I have another computer running OS 10.7. 3 (as opposed to 10.7.4 the crashy) and the same InDesign CS5 7.0.4 and it works perfectly.

  Our engineers have provided a workaround solution which, although potentially complex for some, should allow the full functionality.

  Essentially, we ask the people affected by this problem to put three icon files in the InDesign application file itself to skip the check for the missing API.
