  I have improved my Portege R30 - A to add a second SSD (Crucial M550) replace the optical with the new SSD drive with caddy.

  But now the system does not start automatically from the original SSD.

  This ODD of SSD/HDD replacement is not always possible and in many cases, the BIOS will not handle and will not recognize the new HARD disk correctly.

  If you have an original Toshiba recovery disc then put it in the CD/DVD drive and the start of this drive.
  The recovery disk would start and you should follow the instructions on the screen.

  Installation of recovery disk would format the whole HDD (!) which means you n t need to delete anything before starting the installation of the recovery disc! Recover disc remove everything!

  Why not check your file Associations for you ensure that when XP meets a PDF file, it will use Adobe Reader to open it (or if some PDF reader you choose).

  To do this, in Windows Explorer, click Tools, folder, File Types options and find the PDF file extension.

  If it is not associated with Adobe Reader, click on edit and select Adobe Reader and put a checkmark in the box to "always use the selected program to open this type of file", click OK and close.

  You can get similar results by right-clicking a PDF file, choose open with..., choose the program, etc.

  Yesterday, I removed several components of windows to attempt to clean my cpu. After the reboot, I noticed that my DVD drive disappeared. Under Driver Details, it shows that I have a lot of drivers for my Phillips DVD player. However, the status of the device is the following: Windows cannot load the driver for this hardware device. The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39) Click Troubleshoot to start the troubleshooter for this device. I've done the troubleshooting, and the two options has not fixed the problem.

  Then I tried to add windows components that I removed, thinking maybe that was the problem. However, when I try to add them, I get an error message that says: 'Setup cannot copy the file zClientm.ex_' it shows the location of this file as being in windows/i386, and of course, the file is located in this folder. So when I go to browse to locate the file, I find and click on it to open it, but I keep getting the same error message that the file is not found and Setup cannot continue.

  I realize that this problem seems very rare and weird, but any help at all would be appreciated. Thank you.
