Portege Z30-A-1E1 - blue screen and reboot

Hello

I have a model A-Z30-1E1 with 8.1 for Windows Pro 64-bit.

I have the problem of ad, randomly, I got a blue screen and restarting the laptop, without giving error messages.
In the event log windows that I can't find anything that clearly led to a cause.

I use a Toshiba Dynadoc U3 and I first thougt she had something to do with it, but the accident occurs even if I use the laptop disconnected from him.

Anyone had a problem like this?
Any suggestions for debugging?

Thank you very much!

Hello

I don't have a complete solution, but perhaps a step on the way.
I would say first to disable the auto restart when a blue screen appears.
This way the error message will remain on the screen until the PC is turned off.

Know how prevents automatic restarts here:

  • Portege Z30-a-1E1 - WIFI connection only 150Mbps

    Hello

Today, I received my Toshiba Portege z30-a-1e1 running Win7. I've updated all the drivers, firmware and of course Windows itself. Unfortunately the WiFi only connects up to 150 Mbps (router configured to 5 GHz only, 40 MHz wide only, only N and auto channel selection, WPA2 Personal). Other laptops at home are connecting with up to 260Mbps (even 7 Asus F8v). Portrege shows that it is connected with the 802.11n standard.

Any suggestion that I can do to activate the higher speed connectivity.

    Kind regards

    Hello

150 megabits per second transfer is not a bad value for 802.11 WLan N standard.
WLan highest transfer rate depends strongly on factors such antenna Wlan, WLan miniPCI and environment module.

Wikipedia gives this info on the standard 802.11 N standard:
… Assuming that the operating parameters equal to an 802.11 network g reach 54 megabits per second (on a single channel of 20 MHz with a single antenna), an 802.11n network can reach 72 megabits per second (on a single 20 MHz with a single channel antenna and ns 400 guard interval); of 802.11n speed can go up to 150 megabits per second, if there are no other shows Bluetooth, oven microwave or WiFi in the area using two channels of 20 MHz 40 MHz mode. If several antennas are used, then 802.11n can go up to 288 megabits per second mode of 20 MHz with four antennas, or 600 megabits per second in mode to 40 MHz with four antennas and 400 ns guard interval...

    Hello

In general the BSOD is the product of the problem of hardware or software problem. To check if it of software or hardware associated with deliver its necessary to reinstall the OS and check if the BSOD will appear using the new OS preinstalled.
Of course, it s painful to do that because the recovery procedure would format the HARD drive and therefore the data backup is necessary!

I don t think that the different input voltage might affect the functionality of the laptop computer because the laptop uses the universal adapter that supports entry 100V-240V.

BSOD can be caused by faulty memory modules so I think that this test of memory could be useful also

After 9 latest updates download and installtion was going well until I rebooted the computer and go to page window showing all the icons that I get a blue screen and the computer restarts its self and does not stop. How can this be corrected?

    Hi KevinRy,

Welcome to the Microsoft Answers site!

    Unplug all external devices.

Try to start in safe mode. If you can start in safe mode, and then do a system restore to restore the computer to an earlier point in time.

Change the recovery settings to disable automatic reboot, if you are able to boot up to the desktop computer:

    1.

Right-click my computerand then click Properties.

    2.

    Click the Advanced tab.

    3.

Under Startup and recovery, click settings to open the Startup and recovery dialog box.

    4.

Clear the automatically restart check box, and then click OK many times necessary.

    5.

Restart your computer so that the settings take effect.

Now, when you are going to close and a fatal error occurs, you will see at least and it won't cause an automatic restart.

Please reply back with the error message you get because it helps us to resolve the error.

    Kind regards

  • What is blue screen and what to do and how to fix this with out taking back to factory setting and reinstalling Vista

What is blue screen and what to do and how to fix this with out taking back to factory setting and reinstalling Vista

When a BSOD (Blue Screen of Death) the system failure occurs, for most users, there not enough time to fully record what he says. the exact text is important for anyone trying to diagnose what is wrong. You can save time when the error occurs then by following the procedure described below.

If you already did it disable the auto reboot system error. This should help by allowing the time to write the code to Stop error and related information correctly. Select Start, do a right-click on computer select Properties, advanced, system settings startup and recovery, system failure and uncheck the box before automatically restarting. Re-do not enable automatic restart in the event of system failure after obtaining this information, this setting is the best left to not allow an automatic restart.

If the failure occurs during the initialization of the computer, you need to try a different approach. You can access the Advanced Options Menu of Windows on multiple computers by constantly pressing the F8 (key) key when starting and selecting the option - disable automatic restart in case of system error. This method is not always easy to use because it may be difficult to press the F8 key at the right time. Try again if it doesn't work the first time. On some computers, a different key must be used.

To boot from a DVD, positioned on the BootOrder:

Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.

At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu

    Hello

I have a huge problem with my laptop Toshiba Satellite L-300. Whenever I have load it I get a blue screen and the "technical information" STOP: 0 x 00008086.

I saw answers to this when it is suggested that you go in safe mode and then follow the steps from there, but when I press F8 I get a loud beep and the computer carries its load before coming with the same blue screen.

I am able to enter the configuration utility (F2) and the Boot Manager (F12), but that's all.
What I do, he turns to blue screen with the same information.
Tried to reinstall from the CD of restoration without success.

    Help would be massively appreciated.

    Hello

    > Tried to reinstall from the recovery without success CD.
In this case, it seems hardware problem.
BSOD can be a product of memory problems. Try to delete a memory modules and test the laptop with a module in each slot. The two test modules.

But this could be one of the possible malfunctions

    Ben River

I ordered the Dell XP disc and did the re-install. It works fine now. The Dell technical support had me do some updates on the web as well. I have not had problems since. What happened with the automatic updates completely wiped out my operating system. At least I don't have to buy a new computer.

If nothing else works, try reinstalling your operating system. It worked for me.
