  • cannot print wireless to wireless using a but access point wired printing (pc) wireless technology is very well

I have a HP OfficeJet 8600plus N911a CM749A # product who has problems in this impossible to print wireless to wireless using an access point but Wired print (pc) wireless technology is fine. We have 4 pcs in a network cable that work very well try to print to the printer which is connected wireless. They installed the software and discovered the printer very well. When you try to install the printer on a Win8 Tablet and a laptop Win7 that neither would discover the printer, so I have two devices connected by ethernet cable and ran the facilities in the same way as the PC and installed everything and worked fine. But, after I disconnected the wire and reconnected or the other device wireless again (they go OK so I know that they get an address) when I go to print to the 8600 it says there is no communication to the printer. BTW, I can install (and installed) other (cable) HP printers on the network as the computer laptop and Tablet AUTODECOUVERTS and print... Yes, ideas on why it loses its Wireless communication to the wireless printer. He turns a few odd Protocol or discovered that did not pass on a wireless system?

A: Yes, that would allow a wireless client to connect to the network. Deal with the AP as a "wireless switch". If you have DHCP running on the network, the DHCP information will also provide computers wireless connecting to the AP.

Q: the second question is how can I connect a gateway (for example WAG200G) so more that the entire network to the Internet?

  • How to set up EA6500 so another router can be used as access point?

How to configure EA6500 and DIR655 for this?

    Help, please.  Thank you.

Yes, you must reset your router Dlink as sabretooth suggested. If the Dlink IP address is 192.168.0.1, which differs from your EA6500 IP of 192.168.1.1, you can do a Lan to Wan set up.
Moreover, you would be to see name/SSID wireless router since it still broadcasts a Wi - Fi signal.

  • How to set up the access point 1602 I just bought

    Hello world

Hope you can help. I just bought an AIR-SAP1602I-A-K9 with an internet provider. With her, I also bought a power injector. I tried to use it as a standalone AP. It does not come with any instruction, and I'm not good at Wifi config. I hope you can help... My requirement of adjustment is very simple:

-Create and broadcast the SSID called MYCSL

N ' not no authentication or encryption. (is this open authentication?... so that people just plug the SSID as the user can start to cruise internet without putting in any key.)

-The access point does not have a static ip assigned, instead, he gets an IP from one of my dhcp server in the network.

-How to connect my laptop to configure via web http?

Can you tell me what should be configured? Although it is a new product from a legitimate retailer... Cisco said that they could not support it without any contract of Starnet... as a consumer... they should give the kind of grace period to support the new products... In any case, hope you can help me out here :)

  • RV180W - multiple wireless access points

Hey there, looking for some advice.

I currently have 2 two devices Cisco RV180W and I'm looking to expand my saturation wireless in my house and you're looking for the best way. a bit of back story... I originally had a signal (1) RV180W and it was in my basement (essentially a pop room configuration) and on the top floor of my house, the signal was very week. I found a text of presentation mentioned due to the chipset RV180W best wireless Extender/Expander was actually another RV180W and just used in an access point mode. So now I have two of these devices whats their best way to put in place? I saw two different implementations in this scenario and im not sure which is best.

    1. install a WDS network. Add each as authorized access points.

    2. installation each with the same SSID but together on different channels.

What is the best configuration for the best saturation wireless within the House thus maintain the client when hoping between AP connections? also looking for easy management.

    Hello

I would say your best bet here would be option 2, with a wired connection between them.

WDS can be useful, but it has a few drawbacks.  For each hop that you take your speed will get divided by two, since each station can send or receive at the same time, not both.  With a wired connection eliminate you this additional relay between a router and the other on the air and can get better wireless performance.

One thing I should mention, is that neither the installation program will result in customers maintaining connections perfectly while hopping between APs.  This would require something called seamless roaming, which is only available on the business access points where there is a controller wireless LAN involved.

However, most of the time when hop customers between two networks it will be very fast and they will lose only briefly about connections. The decision on the time of the actual customer belongs, so that all devices will act in the same way.

So in short, the same SSID on different channels is your best bet, ideally the channels 1, 6 or 11 If you do not overlap.

In regard to the ease of management, they will be essentially two independent devices, each managed separately.  But once you set up the access point RV180 it will not be too many reasons to change the configuration, except maybe to change the wireless password.

    Thanks for choosing Cisco,

  • Wrt54g as a wireless access point

well I recently changed around my setup with my wrt54g router. I had an access point which I was ignorant is better. Im kinda new to the networking agreement, if that's what I want to make a career and access points is new for me. so at the point of this post... when I make a point of access instead of the router I can not access the administration configuration page. I know that when it's the DHCP server, you type in the gateway by default as your data and the admin page pop up... well when it's just an access point is the gateway of your router don't Box not the linksys. How am if possible then I could access the configuration for the linksys so say I wanted to change the SSID of my network? I appreciate all the help

If you have reset wrt54g, then its LAN IP address will change to one that is default 192.168.1.1, you can value your computer IP 192.168.1.10 and try to ping 192.168.1.1 and access the router management page. If the router LAN IP is 192.168.2.2, ensure the IP of your computer is 192.168.2.x and can ping the router LAN IP. You can test this suggestion to connect the computer directly to the router's LAN port.

  • Using a router Wireless G Compact strictly as a "Splitter/hub Ethernet '?

I have a room with a single Port Ethernet; That's not enough, I need about four.

Is there a way I can use my Wireless-G Compact route as an Ethernet hub and not a wireless router?

You must disable the DHCP server on the wireless G router so that it functions as a hub/switch. But you couldn't use 3 ethernet on the router ports, since you will use an ethernet port to be connected to the main router.

    You can check these steps.

    Step 1:
Check the IP address of the main router and write it down.  Example 192.168.1.1

    Step 2:
Connect a computer to the second router (desktop / laptop) to one of the second router's Ethernet ports.
Do not connect the main router yet.

    Step 3:
Go to the page of the second router (example 192.168.1.1)

    Step 4:
On the basic settings tab, search for IP address or local IP address.

NOTE: If the IP address is the same as the main router, change the fourth byte (the number in the fourth box) to a different value.

    Example:

Main router: 192.168.1.1-> secondary router should be: 192.168.1.2

    Step 5:
For the DHCP server setting, set the disabled DHCP server.

    Step 6:
    Click on save settings.

    Step 7:
Unplug the cable from your computer and connect it to one of the Ethernet ports on the main router.

Powercycle the second router (router B) and once the power led is solid, you can now check your Internet connection.

TIP: If your routers are wireless, you have the possibility to synchronize the wireless settings or not.  If you prefer set two 2 different network names in the type of your LAN-to-LAN connection, you will still be able to file sharing since the IP of the second wireless network segment will be in the range with the main wireless network.
Or you can also disable "Wireless network Mode" under the wireless tab

Your router could be suspicious here, you have successfully updated its firmware as a possible solution? And I would like to
Update your WiFi drivers on computers. How you are positioned in the router? Are there
    obstacles in the path?

Actually try updating your driver and disabling the network logon.

Control Panel - network - write down of the brand and the model of the Wifi - double click top - tab of the driver - write
version - click the driver update (cannot do something that MS is far behind the pilots of certification). Then
Right click on the Wifi device and UNINSTALL - Reboot - it will refresh the driver stack.

Look at the sites of the manufacturer for drivers - and the manufacturer of the device manually.

You can download several at once however restart after the installation of each of them.

After watching the system manufacturer, you can check the manufacturer of the device an even newer version. (The
manufacturer of system become your backup policies).

Repeat for network (NIC) card and is a good time to get the other updated drivers as Vista like

I would also turn off auto update for the drivers. If the updates Windows suggests a just HIDE as they
are almost always old, and you can search drivers manually as needed.

  • Printer Hp6700: unable to connect to the router wireless D - Link DI-514 when SSID Broadcast is set to no.

HP6700 printer: unable to connect to the router wireless D - Link DI-514 when the router Broadcast SSID is set to no. My MAC laptop and HP laptop both work with the set SSID on no. If I change the router Wireless SSID Broadcast is YES, then the printer HP6700 can connect to the wireless router. I set up the printer it saying that the SSID and password have been, the same as both of my laptops, but it connects ever, unless I have change the router to broadcast the SSID. Help!

Have you tried to update the firmware on the DI-514?

You can also try to set a static IP address on the printer, and then assign the printer to the list of DHCP static in the interface of the router.
To give a static IP address to your printer:
-Print a the front of the printer Network Setup Page. Note the IP address of the printer.
-Enter the IP address in a browser to reveal the internal settings of the printer.
-Choose the network tab, then wireless along the left side, then on the IPv4 tab.
-On this screen, you want to set a manual IP address. You must assign an IP address outside the range that the router sets automatically (called the DHCP range). If you do not know the range, change the last set of numbers (those after the last '.') 250
-Apply the subnet 255.255.255.0 (unless you know it's different, if so, use it)
-Enter the IP of your router (on the Page of the Network Config) for the gateway.
-Enter for the first DNS 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 for second DNS. It's Google DNS. You can choose a different external DNS if you wish.
    -Click 'apply '.
Now, stop the router and printer, start the router, wait, and then start printing.

After that you remove and re - add the printer to your Mac.

  • When I try to connect to my router wirelessly from my laptop and the room, he asks for my network key and I don't know what it is.

my brother used to all our computer equipment set up and he died last year. Well when I moved and tried to get into my new place it will not allow me without a network/wpa key. I know that I am trying to connect to my router and not my neighbors because when I unplug it it's the only name that disappears from the list of wireless networks. How can I know what is the network key or even set up a new? I am a bit technologically with faculties weakened to get detailed instructions on how to help me would be appreciated, but any help would be great.

I'm sorry for your loss. Since we do not know how your brother to set up the router, it would be better to start again just to make sure that your wireless network is secure. Reset the default router. This is usually done with the wired router (on) by pressing a small button on the back or the bottom of the router, now the button for about 30 seconds and then let go. You can find the manual on the router mftr's Web site. your router if you need it.

Once you have reset the router to default, set up correctly:

Have a computer connected to the router with an ethernet cable. Examples given are for a Linksys router. See the manual of your router or the router mftr's Web site. for the parameters by default if you don't have a Linksys. Open a browser such as Internet Explorer or Firefox and in the address bar type:

http://192.168.1.1 [Enter] (it is default IP address of the router, which varies from router to router then check your manual)

This will bring you to the login screen of the router. The default username is blank and the Linksys default password is "admin" without the quotes. Enter this information. You are now in the configuration of the router utility. Your configuration utility may be slightly different from mine. The first thing to do is to change the default password because * all * known default passwords for different routers.

Click the Administration link at the top of the page. Enter your new password. MAKE A NOTE SOMEWHERE THAT YOU WILL NOT LOSE. Re-enter the password to confirm it, and then click Save settings at the bottom of the page. The router will reboot and show you the box of connection again. Do not fill in the user name and put it in your new password to enter the configuration utility.

Now, click on the link wireless at the top of the page. Change the network name (SSID) wireless by default to something, you'll recognize. I suggest that my clients not use their surname as the SSID. For example, you might want to name your network wireless network "CastleAnthrax" or similar. ;-)

Click on save settings and when you get the prompt that your changes were successful, click the wireless security link which is just beside the Basic Wireless Settings link (where you changed your SSID). Most computers purchased during the last 4 years have the wireless hardware that will support WPA2-Personal (also known as WPA2-PSK). This is the desired encryption level. If your wireless hardware is older, use WPA. Don't use WEP, because who is easily broken within minutes. So go ahead and set the Security Mode WPA2-Personal. Do this and enter a password. For example, you could use the password ' here be dragons, beware you scurvy dogs! The password is what you enter on all computers that are allowed to connect to the wireless network. MAKE A NOTE SOMEWHERE THAT YOU WILL NOT LOSE.

At this point, your router is set up and if the computer that you use to configure the router will normally connect wireless, disconnect the ethernet cable and wireless of the computer should see your new network. Enter the password that you have created (exactly as you wrote it with all capital letters and punctuation) to join the network and start surfing. MS - MVP - Elephant Boy computers - don't panic!
