  Cannot answer this question because it depends on the available disk space and the amount of system RAM.   Each profile uses the space of the HD and takes up the ram.  I saw 10 profiles on a beefy i7 computer.

  It is perhaps not necessary to map contacts but in case you need activity report too, so it must be mapped.

  First post here.  Took a Curve 8330 for about a month now.  Recently during the backup, I started getting an error saying "Error backup databases [profiles] 4 of 6 entries retrieved"

  1. entered in screen forward and cleared the databases on the device.

  2. backup again, no problem.

  3. open a backup file is a few days, to restore these profile (& options) on the device

  4. backup again...  No dice, still the same problem.

  So I just deleted the profliles of the device. A few days later I recreated manually one of my profiles on the phone.  Next time, I tried to backup, I got the error again.  What now?

  So I think I have this beat problem.  I found a few useful posts on another forum.  Most tell you to clear your browser's cache and cookies, then re-sync.  This didn't do it for me, and I didn't know it would be that the cache of the browser should not have anything to do with the timing of the Profiles database.

  However, I did go to the advanced screen and clear data of the device.  Then I did a battery with quick pull pull.  Then I backed up once again, with no problems.  Then, I recreated my profile customized from scratch.  Now seems fine backup...  See you soon.

  One of my bosses had just me with their 8310 and they have a pecuilar problem.  They were complaning have not heard his phone ring, so I tried to go to their icon of 'Profiles' to set the parameters, but he missed.  I then unhid all and he has not yet posted.  I restarted the phone and checked the settings to hide/show again and still nothing.

  First line of action is to do a system restore, if you remember a 'good' date when you didn't have a problem. Use this good date as your restore point.
  Do and go to safe mode to restore your system:
  Here's how to get safe mode:

  Shut down your computer > turn it back on and immediately and repeatedly tab key F8 until you see a black and white screen. The top/down arrow and select Safe Mode.

  System Restore:

  Start button > Search box, type system restore > press the Enter key > uac prompt > click on choose a different restore point > next > select dates as your restore point, until the click > next > finish
  To sit and wait. The machine restarts when it's done.

  Documaker workspace contains, at a minimum, the following:

  (2) INI file (s)

  (3) structure folder/directory - for example the deflib, policies, data

  (4) Master Resource Library (MRL) - repository where models and resources are stored.

  The MRL can be stored in a data file (a data file of code base that usually appears in the deflib directory, consisting of several files with dbf, lby, and mdx extensions). In later versions of Documaker Studio the ability to create new workspaces using the codebase data file has been deleted. This is because using codebase MRL in a multi - user environment leads to severe performance problems. The wizard of the workspace will present only the opportunity to create a workspace that uses an MRL of database-backed and select a valid DSN.

  It is possible to create an MRL-backed code base, but you will have to do it by hand - there is no assistants for this because it is not recommended to use MRLS-backed code base for the above reason.   This will give you an environment stripped. You will need to create a FXR, JDT/DFD files, etc. But it will create an environment of code base for you.
